When I was eight and my brother was ten our best friend/adoptive older brother was shot in the heart two houses down from his own home, they say he died instantaneously. I cried for four days. When my grandparents died a few years later, I didn't cry. When my dad died three years ago, no, I didn't cry. And, yet, other things will make me cry easily. This I do not understand.
- Lied: Yes. Sadly, because of how I grew up lying has become a strong habit, and a form of self-preservation. I'm proud of myself in that I've pledged to break the habit and have been conscientiously working to weaken and break it.
- Fallen for your best friend?: My first love was my best friend for 3 years before anything happened between us. My current mate was my best friend for a year before we started dating and we dated for a year and a half before anything happened.

- Trusting?: Almost bone-headed-ly so. I decided early on that I wasn't going to be the person who told the hero of the story that it simply wasn't true, whatever was happening to them. Over time some really unbelievable things have happened to me, so I'm grateful there are those willing to believe me as I am to believe them.
