I'm Derpy! A hobbyist writer of 13 years. I specialize in narrative lead and character driven stories, though I'm open to other concepts and projects I'm presented by any given client! Please note that the content I write and post do not align with my interests, as I am merely providing a service.

New Year, New Me (and Changes!) (G)
Hey, hey, folks. It's been a minute, and my clock tells me it's 2016. Or... wait, no. 2026. What's with that "great meme reset" anyway?
As many of you may know regarding my humble beginnings a few years ago, I've been struggling a bit to make my place and decide on what exactly I should dedicate myself to, how I should price my work, and how I engage with others on this site.
To start off, let's talk about "what I dedicate myself to" and "how I engage with others on this site".
I don't talk about myself too often on this profile. I've kind of been distant in that regard, just keeping myself to some wacky Journals every now and then and maybe leaving a Shout on someone's page to look bizarre in the sea of "Thank You for Fav/Watching Me!!!" but I'd like to try and be more interactive starting today, even if that'll be a slow thing given how Fur Affinity isn't exactly much of a "social media" to other sites. By all means, this place is just a glorified gallery! BUT! I WILL try to interact more as best as I can! I promise I don't bite! I just call people nerds and verbally #pwned them! Just ask that FUCKING LOSER
See4 to see what I mean.
Meanwhile, there's my writing. I don't talk about it too often, but I do cherish my hobby as a dear skill of mine. Being able to bring to life the stories I've been asked to do has been such a great experience in allowing me to give joy to others and help them verbalize the things they'd always want written. Getting to hear so many stories and conversations with the clients I spoke to through different platforms has always been a treat and I look back on those moments quite often. But... at the same time... not a lot of the stories I write feel like they're what "I" would do as much as they are just done as a service. That doesn't mean I'm unhappy with the client or piece, but I just don't feel that same level of love, and I'm sure that shows even to a casual reader. I've always been interested in philosophical and character driven pieces that make you get into the life of an individual/their world and question what is truly right or wrong, but when I'm asked for another "this guy gets dicked down" piece, it does bring me down a bit to think about what I have been leaving in my digital footprint.
That's not to say I don't WANT those kind of stories! I believe there's a bit of enjoyment I get from all of them. Whether fascination of the concept, the client themselves, what I can make of it on my own cord, or just "getting that paycheck in the end" I do feel the need to make it clear how I feel regarding my work as it's an important thing to reflect on, and 2025 has certainly had me doing some soul-searching as to how I want to go about changing things.
So, let's address... those changes.
For starters, I have completely revamped my old Terms of Service and made it into a more convenient and streamlined Handbook, inspired by
Zen~ and MANY other writers I looked around the web for references regarding on how I'd go about these changes to find what truly spoke to me. I highly, HIGHLY suggest reading the new "Handbook" as I believe I will be sticking with this for the foreseeable future. It goes into detail regarding the things I find myself more comfortable/happy to write, and also lists things I will not write, helping eliminate concerns and questions about if the story you'd have in mind would be met with a "No" and having to contact me on Discord to double-check.
SPEAKING of Discord... let's address another change!
My Commission Form has been adjusted to be more convenient and concise for those wanting to quickly leave a submission without having to get too intricate about anything. On top of that, you can now choose to communicate to me through Fur Affinity, SoFurry, Weasyl, OR Discord! The perfect option for anyone wanting to keep a profile private even from just commission talk. No shame in that, we all have our secrets, of course. I can hope that this will be more accommodating for everyone involved as a means of clearing up all the dirt on the floor you'd need to step through just to get to the "send request" part.
For nicher changes, let's get into a bit of a controversial thing...
I am now taking payment upfront. I will no longer be doing a half/half system. I'd like to believe I've built up a good enough reputation even in my little space that this is feasible. I can only hope word of mouth has gone far in my favour unless something wacky's going on! But, yeah.
"Is there a good change to this at least?" One of you is probably thinking, and yes, there is, actually!
I am now doing FIXED prices for FIXED word counts! If you've read the previously mentioned Handbook containing my Terms of Service, you will notice 3 "story options" being:
1. Vignette {€30} [~2000 words) (~3-4 pages)
2. Short {€60} [~3000 words] (~4-5 pages)
3. Long {€90} [~6000 words] (~12-13 pages)
I hope I don't need to explain too much here because I DO rely on you having read on them in that Handbook, but let me go on a bit about the Vignette option, yeah?
Unlike anything else I've done before... this new option is an affordable choice for anyone wanting:
A) A cheap, short story from me
B) A story where I have more control about what to make of it
C) A story that is likely to be finished within the same day!
HOWEVER. There comes downsides... being that you don't get a Quick Draft, nor the ability to make changes to the story from me. I find this to be fair due to such a low price for the creative freedom while ensuring a maximum of 3 keywords (+ your OC(s)) are involved! I really am curious to see just how these Vignette commissions will go as I've only ever done a similar concept with "YCH" story concepts during Kinktober 2023 and 2024.
Please note that if you're interested in a Vignette, you are asked to fill in THIS Commission Form INSTEAD of the original one, the same way as the Handbook would've told you.
The LAST thing I have to say is that I have made a Weasyl account and will be posting on there as well. I also have a SoFurry account but the site is still in maintenance, but it will be receiving the same level of attention as my other platforms once it's back in service! if you're willing to spread the love the same way you have here, I'd be very appreciative.
That's about everything I have to say regarding this Journal for the new year. I'd like to thank you all so much for being part of my journey. Whether you were a reader, lurker, friend, or commissioner. You've definitely changed my life in a way I couldn't have expected, and I truly don't verbalize that enough. Here's to hoping I get more opportunities to be human on here and haven't just spilled out all my guts to an empty comment section.
Get hit by a FUCKING TRUCK, NERDS.
