`Hello, welcome to my FA page! My name's Ash!`









I'm an artist who specializes in animals, monsters and creatures of all shapes and sizes.

I'm nonbinary, I'm a big fan of ancient fairy folklore, and I find fascination with damn near every facet of the natural world, right down to the microbes.



Whether I'm drawing something familiar to the public zeitgeist or designing a new creature that is wholly original, I take great care to ensure my work portrays all the little nuances of nature; The muscle tension of a coiled snake that's ready to strike, the blur of a songbird weaving through the trees, the fragile stillness of a deer in the forest, all these things I try my very hardest to capture in my work. It's not always about the anatomy and realism, though I do take a great deal of care in that too - I seek to capture the essence of the things I illustrate and magnify them, bringing out the soul of the subject. This expression also rings especially true for my abstract art, which I try to inject with as much raw emotion and feeling as I can.



Of course, I also can draw anthros, humans or humanoids, and in fact am eager to practice them when I can, so you might catch the occasional elf, satyr, or other such hominid-adjacent thing in my gallery. Goes without saying, I suppose, but I figured I'd bring it up.

Would this be of interest for commissioners? (G)

Would anyone have any interest in getting like...a custom piece of my abstract art? It would be for dirt cheap. I'm talking $5 dollars USD. Here's the idea:

You ask for a concept or emotion. It can be as vague as "anger" or as detailed as "the perspective of a hunting dog".
You specify any specific motifs or themes you want me to involve, like the imagery of wolves or the themes of a pack mentality, for example. The use of brushes that evoke textures, that bring to mind feathers, fur, bone, that kind of thing.
You specify any colors you want me to use.
You specify any motifs, themes or colors you DON'T want me to use.

Examples:

"Can you make me an abstract piece about anger? Use lots of red and gold. Also, don't use any green, okay? And avoid anything involving imagery of animals being harmed, I love them too much!"

"Could you do a piece from the perspective of a deer? Like, a deer in the woods. Whatever colors feel right to you. No predators, though. Just a deer in a moment that feels calm or safe, at least to the deer."

"Will you make me a piece that uses only black, white and red? Maybe use motifs of crows or ravens? Black feathers, blood, bone, aaand...I guess shadows? I don't know, I just think this would make it look awesome. Just make it cool!"

"Can you make a piece about how it feels to stub your toe? :L asking for a friend"

And no matter what you ask for, it would be $5. Seriously. I mean it.
