Something-something I'm an old soul craving the internet I very narrowly missed growing up with (I got the second half of the 2010s, for those curious). With few exceptions, I've been slowly pulling away from social media and trying to find people another way. I was wondering if anyone knows of any active forum community spaces? If so, please drop a recommendation in the comments here.

General-purpose furry forums are welcome. More specific interests I figure you can hypothetically make a forum around listed below:

- Animals! identifying and talking about animals, esp. the little guys like bugs, birds, reptiles, etc.
- Mythology and mythological creatures. I like dragons :)
- Terato stuff, monster-lovers or what have you. I prefer SFW content myself but would be comfortable in a space that has a more NSFW bent, so long as the community's chill.
- Paleontology and paleo-art.
- Writing and roleplaying. If by some miracle there's any RP forum that's taken a firm no-AI stance, please direct me there.
- Video-games, but that can be tricky for me as what games I like changes week-to-week. As a rule though I tend to gravitate more toward RPGs, survival games, and indie titles. Of the few AAA games I've picked up recently I like Monster Hunter, BG3, and Elden Ring.
- Webcomics, character design and illustration
