This was a poem that was written for me as a gift by a very special person I hold to my heart.
Every day I look at it when I feel down or upset or troubled. I know at times it may seem my heart is cold or dead or non-existent...but its poetry like that that soothes me and helps tether me into a realm of tranquility.

Dragon on my Hand

"I have a dragon wrapped around my finger,
Sterling silver worn with touch and time.
Dragon father's scales and tail and muscle
Crystallized in memory and rhyme.
I see him there and smile when I remember,
A distant elder dragon dear to me.
When stress and trials are harsh upon my spirit,
The talisman reminds my memory.
And when my life may keep my hands too busy,
Reality too harsh for wearing art;
A chain around my neck, beneath my work shirt,
Will keep him safe and warm against my heart."
