Hey! Welcome. I'm an engineer and programmer who likes fluffy things. I take robots and make them soft, and take software and make that even softer. I write about some of the stiffer, drier things I'm making on my own site, https://lam.io .

Moving pixels (G)
How can clusters of pixels, packets of light, so quickly created and so ephemeral in nature, transport the mind to another dimension far removed from reality? How did they create the schism earlier tonight between where I was physically – in a comfortable chair in a large auditorium facing a three-storey-tall screen, wearing silly polarized glasses – to where I was was: on the sheer rocks of Berk, smelling the salty breeze off the choppy Scandonavian sea? Cinema is the ultimate stage of deception, HTTYD 2 its act, Dean DeBlois its brilliant magician. I. freaking. love. that. guy.
Somehow, after the tension of 2 years of waiting, this movie fulfilled any expectations I had, then smashed my oblivious mind into the stratosphere. Without spoiling anything, no matter how you watch this movie you will not be spared from the absolutely brilliant visuals – a stunning world of inconceivable dimension – and the cohesive, yet somehow unpredictable plot (though I'm usually not very good at predicting plot in the first place, so don't take my word for it :P). And Toothless. GAWD TAKE MEH NOW
Dreamworks sure does listen to its fans, because "I just can't even" is the answer to: how much can you even? From this brain wrought with the incapacity to handle all the Toothless, the excess will, inevitably, spill onto paper. Sorry Klonoa, but looks like dragons'll be stealing the limelight.
Please Dreamworks. Continue to feed my debilitating addiction.
