Who I am:
Hello! I am Charlyko (lyko rhymes with psycho, or the old RC Toy Car company TYCO!)
I am the lizard man with the lizard plan. Or at least that's what I tell myself.
Primary form/fursona is supposed to be Charlyko the space-lizard (proper species name pending), but it seems I'm more well known as Charko the Kobold these days...
I do come in a variety of other flavors, too, including bats and rats~
Important Info:
* My life fell apart in december of 2019 and I've been struggling to put it back together ever since. Long gone are the days of a self sufficient Charlyko able to afford his own apartment, but I guess I'm far from the only person facing this particular struggle these days...
* I am AROMANTIC (but not asexual). This means that I am not interested in any kind of romantic relationship with anyone. I don't fall in love, I'm not in love, I'm not chasing love, I don't get crushes, etc. While I do feel other kinds of love, like familial love, or the love of a pet, it's like the part of the brain that is responsible for romantic love just does not exist for me.
tl;dr I'm single and not looking. But friends with or without benefits is fine~
More random notes about me:
* I'm getting older, past my prime at this point.
* My goal as a person is to strike a balance between intelligent and goofy. Between serious and silly. Between hardworking and playful.
* I love probing people's specific senses of humor as I get to know them, and making them laugh!
* I also sometimes just love probing people! <:o
* I have a weird obsession with the Jock Jams version of Cotton Eyed Joe.
* I love tea! Especially Oolong, and roasted green, and earl grey, and and and...
* Most of the time, I just want to be lighthearted and goof off while still getting things done.
* Expect a mix of lewd and nonlewd stuff!
What do I do:
I am a jack of all trades of content creation, from 3D modelling to texturing to programming to sound design. Lately I've been steadily learning 2d art, a skill that has long eluded me. I do also have a SecondLife store (link for the curious). I have also been WORLDBUILDING, but more on that in a moment...
What am I into:
Favorite video games of the past five years include Command & Conquer Remastered, OpenRA, Warframe, Minecraft, Terraria, Supreme Commander, 7 Days to Die, Stardew Valley, Atlyss.
I'm into Virtual Reality and my headset of choice is the HTC Vive. But I don't use it enough.
I have an Xbox One S... but don't play it that often.
I love RTS games, including oldschool Command & Conquer games, Starcraft 1 and 2, and Supreme Commander!
I love sci-fi stuff! Am into both Star Trek and Star Wars, among other things!
I am a yuuuge astronomy nerd, I could talk about the universe all day long! Seriously if you get me started on astronomy I won't shutup!
Other stuff:
I dislike having a regular, go-to-work-every-day dayjob. And so I've become a doordasher! I need a sugar daddy so that I can spend all of my time working on creative shit instead of delivering food :E

WORLDBUILDING
I have been steadily working on an anthro/furry-centric, medieval-fantasy, fictional world I call ARLAXIS.
The main characters and good guys of the story are kobolds.
Here is the premise:
A thousand years ago, kobolds were seen as mere pests. Scurrying about the underbelly of society, thieving and scavenging just to survive. Being a kobold was not something to be proud of. People grew tired of these pests, and there grew an effort to rid all of society of kobolds. Rounded up and dumped, exiled into the badlands, a terrible, vast land ravaged by endless magic storms, the kobold people's new home was ill-suited to living. They tried to build their own society, but they tried in vain, hampered by endless magic storms, poor weather, constant pillaging by outside raiders, their already bad lands regularly trampled upon, their meager possessions stolen, their young society disrupted. They never had a chance.
But everything changed when the fire nation att- I mean when the great mountain fell from the heavens.
A mountain, fallen from the sky, struck the world with such force that both the ground below and heavens upon shook violently.
The world of Arlaxis is permeated by a trio of energies, the locals call it Flux, and it is rumored to be leftover, remnant energy that the Three Gods used to create the world. Over time, these energies had become settled, calm, except for in the badlands, where they fueled the endless flux storms. But the impact of the great sky mountain was of such ferocity that it threw these energies into chaos. Perturbed so strongly that flux storms now ravaged the entire world. Criss-crossing, zig-zagging lines of raw flux erupted endlessly. Nations were cut in two, cities rendered uninhabitable, civilization disrupted on a global scale.
But where this was a catastrophe for the rest of the world, it was a shining beacon of hope for the kobold people, for you see... the flux storms that had once ravaged their badlands, had vanished, relocated to the rest of the world. Left behind in the badlands, where massive storms once resided, were truly vast deposits of raw flux. These energies, which give rise to this world's magic system, are a valuable resource. And while supplies of these energies had steadily been dwindling worldwide, the kobold people were now in possession of the greatest hoard of flux the world had ever seen.
Not only this... but their badlands were completely cut off from there rest of the world, due to the new flux storms.
The kobold people, now free from outside oppression, and armed with enough of this valuable resource to last them a hundred lifetimes... kicked off the start of their new society! Aided by a smattering of tools and knowledge from the outside world, their society, their civilization developed. Farming, dwellings, irrigation, language, reading, writing, transportation... the kobold people developed it all.
As generations of kobolds lived and died, life was good.
But now, a thousand years have passed, and rumors are abound that the great flux storms that have kept them free and safe from the outside world... are dissipating.
===
The story I want to tell is of the kobold people's reacquaintance with the outside world, of their struggles to be taken seriously as a socio-economic power of their world, and of the eventual... conflict that arises.

Rest in peace, Aledaroth. (G)
One of these days, I wish to post a positive journal... today is not that day.
I learned this morning that my longtime friend
Aledaroth lost his battle with cancer. He was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer last summer and while I knew it was a possibility that he wouldn't make it... I didn't expect it to happen so soon. He said the doctors gave him three years to live, but were hopeful that he'd beat it. Just last month I asked him if he thought he was going to beat it, and he said that he didn't feel like he was going away anytime soon.
=====
Our first ever encounter was in some side room at a furry house party in 2010 or so... but we didn't meet properly until 2011, at yet another fur meet, when I asked if anyone was planning to go to the RMFC convention in Denver. Aledaroth spoke up, we talked, he visited my apartment not too long after that, and we became friends. I even visited his family and stayed a night at their house the day before RMFC started.
He even came over for new year's at the end of 2011... kept a pizza warm in the oven for him as he was late by over an hour. A nice late night of playing Terraria and just hanging out.
Then 2012 came and after much planning... me, him, my late chihuahua Princess, and my long since gone leopard gecko Oswald, set out on our journey for Washington state. It ended up not working out, of course, and we both had to move back home, but it was an adventure, and Aledaroth was there for it. Including that time Princess crawled and burrowed completely into his pillowcase, all the way into the far side of it... lol.
From 2014 onwards, he came over to my apartment many a time, good times playing warframe, browsing furry art, eating, just... y'know, hanging out.
The last time we saw each other irl? Gosh it's been about five years. He came over to retrieve a box of some of his belongings I had. We hung out, laid in bed, held hands, and chatted.
We didn't talk as much during these past five years, as before... but we still kept in touch, and even gamed once in a blue moon.
---
And now, bam, just like that, he's gone.
Evan, you were one of, if not the single kindest person I've ever met. I'm nothing less than honored to have been considered one of your best friends. Thank you for giving a name to Oswald the leopard gecko... even though you meant it as a joke at first, the name ended up sticking. I still can't think back to that time we were playing Warframe without laughing, where we discovered that funny animation glitch with Oberon and were sliding and jumping around looking like weirdos. "Super Philly Adventure", all our stupid inside jokes. That time at my first apartment we were listening to that police stand off. Terraria, Starbound, Minecraft, all the games we played.
When Princess gobbled up the beef jerkey we bought on the way to Washington and then immediately threw it all up. That weird ghost gasoline we got. The funny scripts and sounds I added to your house in Secondlife.
Everything. All the memories.
---
I will always be your friend, Evan, your premature departure be damned.
Goodbye, my friend.
