Hi! I'm a somewhat younger furry living in northern Michigan. I mostly draw traditional art, but when I have time to get on the computer I sometimes do a little digital art as well.

Sorry for the long journal, I'll sum it up later if you wish, but here's the thing. Not a good thing, as you'll learn if you read on. I'm on the bus at the moment. Now, looking back about an hour.
I just got on the bus and am sitting near the front. A group of students, mostly 8th and 9th graders but with a few older high schoolers and younger middle schoolers, are sitting in a sort of blob. I'm in this blob location wise, but not part of the conversation. The bus drives through our little village, and we see burned-down buildings. Now the conversation that I hear. They're talking about the buildings that have burned down recently. By buildings I mean a few houses and a small business and by recently I mean in the past month or two, plus a fire a few years ago that may or may not be related. The scariest part? They're all within a one-block area and they were each from a separate fire. Which means one of three things:
1. A coincidence, nothing to worry about.
2. Electricity problems. Bad, but not as bad as
3. Deliberate destruction.
They were talking about possibility #3. And things like who's next. Who will lose their home or job (or both) next, all because someone decided to set fire to it. The fire from a few years back was my friend's house. Her family is still recovering from it; they just finished rebuilding their house some months ago. So just the first fire a few houses away from hers was a huge shock for us. Now this. Her new/old/old location but new building house is between the two that burned down within weeks of each other.
I actually live outside the village, (otherwise I wouldn't have an hour long bus ride,) so I'd be safe if it wasn't a coincidence. But still, it's such a good, caring community that it saddens me very greatly. I can't express in words how much it hurts me to think this. It just does.
