Art Commissions and Taxes? (G)
10 years ago So I've been thinking about doing some Commissions and Adopts but it would be considered additional income and I don't want to screw myself come tax time. The entire purpose of gaining a little extra income would be to pay down my student loans even if only by a thousand dollars or so.
I owe Sallie Mae over $14,000 for less than a year of schooling and this is after me paying on it for the past 5 years and using most of my deferment time when needed. Because of the payment plan I am on it went from $85 a month to $210 about 2 years ago which is when I had to get a second job. I don't know when it will go up again or by how much and honestly I'm just tired of having the whole thing hanging over my head -_-"
So I guess what I am wondering is how the whole process works? I mean, it wouldn't be a massive amount but I would still need to pay taxes on it. How do you go about paying those taxes or do you just pay it when you file? I did some looking online but I kept finding stuff from 2009-2012 and I'm pretty sure stuff has changed since then.
I will say that I will most likely do some stuff anyways and deal with the papers later so look forward to seeing some stuff from me soon! (Aaaand I've also added some new characters to my family so look forward to seeing some stuff from my favorite people soon!)
