Hello everyone, ApocalypseDog here.

As we approach the end of 2025, I just wanted to address something thats actually worth talking about. This was an absolutely awful year for me. From the end of May to now; this year sucked so bad lmao...

I quit my $27/hr job because they were forcing me to be on the night shift (4pm - 4am) I did that shit for like 6 months last year and I was so freaking miserable. But I straight up told them "No, I quit. I aint doing that shit again." (This goes along with the fact that the place was a dirty/dangerous shithole) So yeah...was unemployed and looking for a job.

I was unemployed for almost 2 months, bills burning through my money like insane. Eventually found a new job that didn't pay much, but it was an income at least. Still was struggling financially so I had to get a second job. Which for a while was working. I was breaking even on all my bills and expenses. Then for some reason in the end of October. My 2nd just just stopped calling me for work. I inquired about whats happening 3 different times to which they would tell me "Theres no work available right now." Cut to the present and I still have just my one job. Barely scrapping by financially....Now I have to wait through winter before I have a chance to get a decent trade job. (Like construction/cement work. Which they still have going in the winter, but alot of those places slow down for winter) The constant state of being in financial turmoil and the possibility of losing my house has really made me depressed. So much so that honestly I have lost my passion for art altogether. I have submitted a few different illustrations but it feels like I just forced them by habit or obligation...

Hilariously, I probably would've submitted the exact same amount of art if I stayed at my first job.

But despite all of this. I'm still here, still moving forward. I have hope.

I had some time to reflect over the holidays and think about what I can do to better my situation. To get a better job, to reignite my passion for creating, to be a better Rawb!


Starting 2026 I'm gonna make some changes. As far as art goes, I'm gonna start from scratch and relearn and hone my style. Even if I'm still slow as hell, but in the very least if its something I can enjoy again. Its worth it!

So theres going to be a pause on submissions for the foreseeable future. Also might remove some old, outdated pics that have old references. I hate saying things like this because I submit so infrequently that I honestly think nobody even notices hahah.


And that's the situation here!


But to my friends, supporters, lurkers... I hope 2026 will be our year! Here's hoping we all get through these tough times together! : >
