Most stories start at the beginning... Mine starts at the end.
Holding back a scream, Selene watched as blood was flung on the masses, the small child whipped viciously, a single drop of blood obscenely waiting to drop from one of his toes. Long dead, his head was hung, his body tied tightly to the wide pole, as the dungeon master continued to whip the corpse. Crying, Selene turns away, leaving the square, her shoulder catching on someone, she apologizes profusely and hurries away. Half running, the rage and sorrow inside her from the indecency of the act filling her with a restless energy, she runs down the cobblestone streets, leaving the horror behind her. The wind catches the soft, thin fabric of her short top, sliding its silken fingers through her hair and across her skin, billowing the long fabric of her loincloth-like skirt behind her elegantly. Barefoot, with a simple leather anklet, her only jewelry save for a small green crystal hung around her neck, she ran to the edge of the small town, the street fading from cobblestones to soft dirt, pounded into dust by many travelers and their beasts.
