Unfortunately, a friend of mine got wrongly flagged as a spam account on Telegram. To get verified, they’d have to enter their FULL LEGAL NAME. First name, middle name, and last name!
Christ all mighty, that’s almost a full ID right there!
So no, Telegram is a really awful idea; frankly I feel like an idiot for pedaling it as the “dox-free chat platform” we desperately need, considering it already asks for your phone number when registering; that already seemed more personal than an email address…
So what then? I have these other two platforms I’ve been looking up, and decided to create an account on both of them, so there’s your options.
