Two YCHs with $25 USD starting bid!
Posted 10 months agoHey everyone! I’m currently running two YCHs auctions over at the link below! 👇
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/58815562/
The starting bid is $25 for these, and will run until the end of Saturday, November 16th. This is a really good chance to get art from me for quite cheap!

Commissions Queue For the Rest of 2024
Posted 10 months agoHello all! Here is the list of my art commission queue for November and December 2024. I really do not have a limit, though my typical goal is to complete a piece within two weeks of starting it. Also, working on a piece full time still takes me approximately 3 days at the shortest. I also do have a fair amount of personal art that I am working on, which I will list here. Personal and gift art is typically low in priority, though recent repeat commissioners will be lower in the queue just so my gallery isn't flooded by the same character over and over.
I can likely take on about three more commissions fairly comfortably before the end of the year, however, the sooner you let me know the earlier in the queue it will be. If you want a Christmas or holiday themed piece, I need to know before the end of November. If I take longer than a month from when I start working on a piece, I may offer a discount for the delay to the commissioner.
Also, I frequently share my Works in Progress over on my Discord server. If you are interested in commissioning me, or commissioning me in the future I'll gladly send over a personal link for you to join!
I do not have a set pricing plan for commissions, as I base them off of perceived difficulty. I also have a "Pay when I finish" policy. My typical price range is from $35 USD to $75 USD for a solo character piece, with all transactions through PayPal.
Here is the current queue, as of November 1, 2024:
1. Commission for
BuckskinDaphne COMPLETE! Uploading in near future.
2. Personal art - New profile picture - In progress! Approximately 60% complete, but is a relatively simple piece.
3. Personal art - Something completely unexpected - In progress! Approximately 50% complete.
4. Commission for
BlossomtheMare Started, linework/sketch phase. Aiming to complete by end of November, if not sooner.
5. Gift Art - Piece for
BlooperTrooper cuz I am too kind.
6. OPEN
7. OPEN
8. Christmas Gift art: Not started
9. Low priority commission sheet commission - In progress! 70% complete.

An Old Rant
Posted 2 years agoI don't understand that apparently my crime for caring and worrying about you is somehow worse than someone who attempted to dox you live on stream.
What makes it even more painful is that you forced me to confront that person with the bad news that we knew they would react to poorly because apparently it was *my* responsibility.
You were also the one who pushed me to not forgive this person and part ways.
You then just went silent on me, while at the same time you were criticizing somebody else who suddenly left your best friend. I was trying my best to be involved with you without forcing or imposing myself.
Then you went back to involve yourself publicly with the individual who doxed you while ignoring me who had not a single ill-intentioned bone my body.
You were my friend, something that I do not say lightly. I wanted to support and help you succeed. I wanted to make you smile and pick you up when you were down.
But in the end, you just ended up crushing me at a time where I needed a friend the most. I had to drag my mother into the backseat of a car to a hospital with her screaming in agony from mysterious pain. My horse and life-long companion was trapped on his side for hours, his legs cutting deep furrows in the muddy embankment literally died as soon as touched him. I had nobody to comfort me during that time. Perhaps my wording and language was off during that time with the massive amount of stress on my shoulders.
You then called just "some online friend" after you quite literally invited me to meet you. We had a plan for months, just to cancel a few weeks before. You would jokingly tease saying "You can call me your girlfriend" which I also jokingly shot down. You even drew me a gift, which isn't something you usually do. At least at some point, I must of mattered something to you.
Perhaps you misinterpreted my genuine kindness for niceness. Maybe you thought I was doing all of this just for some sort of personal gain.
It wasn't.
The thing is, I cannot lie. I don't know how to. I can be blunt in language because I am kind. Being nice means to lie about how you truly feel. I listen far more than I speak.
I want to help people, I hate harboring anger and frustration. If I criticize you, it means I do care about you. I wanted to help you. My dream was to help other people achieve their own dreams.
I hate being in torment. I hate being unable to pick up the pen. I hate frustration boiling up during a quiet or idle moment. I'm tired of being hurt.
I really don't want to type this, I don't want to be angry, and why I haven't typed this despite happening six months ago.
I want to apologize, forgive and move on. But I can't do that with nobody there, and alas, this is the only option I have left. It's the reason why my art has died, the fact I haven't created something in nearly a year.
Is it my fault for this pain I have from this former friendship? Maybe. But I cannot accept all the pain. In all honesty, it was our fault. If you were upset at me earlier, you should have brought it up and discussed it with me instead of giving me the cold shoulder. I never turned you down when you wanted to talk to me.
You see, in this world today, with the rise of the AI and all, we need to actually care about the people behind the art, and if you truly believe we are all from one great being, then having anger between us just means hurting yourself. I cared about the person behind the art, for that is how we foster and grow art.
Therefore, I am sorry. But if writing this publicly is the only way for me to have peace in my own heart, then it is what I must do as I wasn't allowed a conversation first before parting ways.
Anyway, I don't know if I will ever be coming back to doing art here or not. I won't completely rule it all out, nor delete what I made previously. Even if what I made in the past may be difficult for me to smile at or be happy with today, others may still get some happiness out of it, and that is all what matters to me.

In Memory of My Best Buddy
Posted 2 years agoUnfortunately, on the first of February, my gelding passed away relatively unexpectedly. I say relatively unexpectedly largely because he did suffer from a stroke eight years ago, leaving him blind and deaf on his right side. He was also just about a month short of reaching his 32 birthday, which is 90 in horse years. Because of this, I really have never shared images of him publicly, and likely will still refrain from doing so because of him looking visually quite rough after that stroke. Internet people are very quick in passing judgement calls, and they will never actually know the context or how I gave the best care of him as I could realistically do.
Now, this isn't the first time I have lost a horse. However this one is harder for me than the others since I used to ride and show him. When you are in that element, you have to form a bond with your horse. Essentially, you become the same mind in two bodies. You feel what they feel. In a lot of ways, we were quite similar to each other, my trainer even saying we were born from the same mold. The reason how I got him was largely due to his size. While he was a quarter horse, which are typically somewhat smaller than most, he was about 16.2 hands tall, and extremely built (to the point where he could of made a very good dressage horse ironically). He was just so big, that the usual lesson girls just didn't have long enough legs queue him, hence why he was practically given away to me due to my long legs. Despite how large he was, he was pretty much always on the bottom of any pecking order in a herd. Honestly, he was just too lazy to bother competing for a higher rank, so it was funny how a 14.2 hand mare would boss around this absolute unit of a horse. This is made more ironic since he was originally supposed to have been a stud for reining horses, which prioritize smaller and quick horses. I presume one of the major reasons why he was originally earmarked was that he had a very laidback and easygoing personality, which is something you want in a stud for safety purposes. While he wasn't really the best possible show horse, it did make things a bit easier for my family since while my sister was training with and showing her horse, so I could essentially tag along with my sister's lessons and shows as well. A major issue I had was that while I was very comfortable around horses when I was a kid, I went to a summer camp that largely ended up traumatizing me around horses by overly explaining all the different ways I could die, making me loose a ton of confidence around them. Horses are able to sense your emotions, so if you are nervous, they are nervous. So I did have to get through all that trauma while learning with my gelding. It took some time, but I was able to bond and work with him effectively. We were definitely buds for life.
Still, even after my sister lost interest in showing horses, I always felt duty-bound to continue to take care of them. My gelding was my best buddy, and l just couldn't just abandon him. After college, taking care of them were directly my responsibility, and that became my priority focus for the past five years.
A lot of what went into designing my sona Fus was based off of my gelding. While I wasn't a sorrel like he was, the reason why Fus is more of a reddish shade of bay rather than brown comes from him. Also, the thin stripe facial marking was partially inspired from my gelding as well. He was very much a part of me, and so I had to represent that in my character.
I will state that the past few days since the last journal I posted have been extremely rough. One of my cats unexpectedly passed away on Jan 28, and one of my mares was mildly foundering (which she has mostly recovered from thankfully). A flock of black vultures that killed half of my family's herd of goats just a year ago showed back up. This is on top of having to help with my mother and her critical health condition which I talked about in the previous journal. Yes, it is indeed a very rough time. Despite all that I am still going to be okay, and I expect I will still remain strong no mater what. Loss is inevitable, but that doesn't mean you need to let it take you down. I'm certainly going to miss my big buddy, but I am also glad he is at peace.

Still Kicking
Posted 2 years agoYep! I’m still alive!
I do want to give you all a little update, and elaborate a bit on how I am planning to operate in the mean time.
Just to be upfront and clear: I’m not taking public commissions for the time being. I’ll gladly do commissions for people that I know or familiar with, but unfortunately times have been and may remain very uncertain and unpredictable for me.
I hate talking about bad news, and well, frankly I try my best to be an optimist. The past year has had major uncertainties largely due to the sudden deterioration of my mother’s health, which has caused me to miss a lot of goals. Two weeks ago, she developed deep vein thrombosis in her leg, which is very serious. Combined with her other health and immune issues, well, it is quite serious. There are also a lot of unresolved family conflicts which I won’t go into here which has also cranked up the stress.
No mater whatever happens in this situation, I’ll be okay. I don’t want to stress anybody else over it, but at the same time, I did want to inform my audience about what has been going on.
I am going to try to get a bit more active on the art side of things again, mainly to put some of that stress into use. It’s just how I process stress, and honestly a far more healthy way of processing stress than most other avenues.
I am also going to try to get back into streaming, though it will likely be during the weekdays. If there’s a scheduling timeframe any of you all are interested in, let me know! When I’m streaming, it’s usually when I’m more extroverted so I’ll gladly chat then.
Also, just to inform people unless I know or am familiar with you, I’m likely not going to respond to direct messages and such outside of streaming or my Discord server. I’ve got too many things to keep track of currently.
That should cover most of the things I wanted to disclose. Hopefully everyone else is doing well and I will be able to upload some artwork in the near future!

Terms of Service (Last Updated November 13th, 2024)
Posted 3 years agoFusilier's Terms of Service
Updated November 13th, 2024
By bidding or commissioning me, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions.
My service is only provided for people over the age of 18, even for safe-for-work artwork. If there is any reason for me to doubt the age of the person commissioning me, my service will be terminated immediately. Therefore, when commissioning me, please communicate with me in a professional and mature manner.
When commissioning me, it is implied that you are commissioning me to draw your character within my anatomy style. My personal preference is typically realistic based off of real-life models and anatomy. I will follow reference sheets to an extent, but if they violate my personal anatomy or style rules, I will alter them to match my style.
I do share basic information about commissioners with other artists I partner with. I will not disclose real life names or payment information. This is mainly to help protect my other artist friends from individuals who may attempt to scam or stalk us. However, I will also share positive information as well, like if the commissioner pays on time and communicates effectively.
I reserve the right to refuse service at whatever time during the commission or drawing process. I will fully refund should this happen.
Allowed Content:
I can draw both SFW and NSFW images. Please note that I tend to prefer to draw more "tame" forms of NSFW, and I am not as kinky as many.
I primarily specialize in drawing equines, but I can also draw other furry anthro species.
Content that I will NOT draw:
-Any anthro/humanoid character under the age of 18 in NSFW situations of ANY kind. This also includes characters who do not visually appear to be sexually mature, despite stating otherwise.
-Scat
-Child Related Fetishes such as Pacifiers, Diapers, littles, etc..
-Incest
-Vore
-Macro/Micro
-Inflation
-Gore
-Unhealthy bodyweight (extremely overweight or anorexic)
Feel free to ask me in private in a note if you are unsure, I won't judge.
Please also note, there may be somethings I might not object to drawing, but I may want to be anonymous. Commissions or variations of these pieces that fall under this category will be under the Private Art rate. (See Additional Fees: Private Artwork below)
Ownership and Usage:
Ownership of the commission is only transferred when the artwork is in a completed state and has been paid for by the commissioner. However, any works in progress if they exist are still my property, and I have the right to resell the WIP as a YCH should the commission be cancelled for whatever reason. Any identifiable marks in the WIP will be removed should it be sold as a YCH.
Even if my artwork is purchased by the commissioner, it should not be traced or recolored to a different character even by the commissioner. Doing such will cause me to pursue takedown and removal by site policies.
Artwork commissioned by me should also not be used in any form of NFT or cryptocurrency.
I also reserve the right to use the artwork for personal advertisements. If you do not want me to use your artwork for personal advertising, please let me know before the piece is completed and paid for. Once the piece is in an ad, I cannot take it down until the advertisement period is over. If you want your artwork to be private, please check the Additional Fees section below.
Price And Payment:
Currently, the only accepted form of payment is through PayPal. Due to recent behavior with PayPal, please do not make any kind of Not Safe For Work comments or references on the PayPal payment. PayPal has been cracking down on payments to NSFW artists and sites, and I figure that both you and I do not want to risk losing our PayPal accounts.
For commissions, price is negotiated on an individual basis with the commissioner on estimated complexity.
For YCHs, price is based off of the final action price. If the character is more complex than usual or additional details and/or a complex background are added, I may request an additional fee if I personally believe the YCH biding price is too low to cover it.
All prices negotiated are in United States Dollars.
Below is a list of estimated price range, but please remember these are estimates and more complicated pieces will likely have a higher price in this:
-Headshot pieces are approximately $35-$70
-Solo character pieces are approximately $50-$100
-Two characters are approximately $75-$150
I do not simplify my art style for characters to reduce the price (i.e. sketch commission or flat-colored commissions). The only flexibility on that are backgrounds, as a simple abstract one will be cheaper than a detailed one.
I also reserve the right to renegotiate the price with the commissioner should the piece turn out to be far more difficult than I initially expected while working on it. Another reason for renegotiation of the piece can be due to sudden economic changes should they occur.
I am reasonably flexible with payment, and I often take a "Pay-When-I-Finish" policy for the benefit of the commissioner. However, I do prefer to receive payment in a single transaction rather than in installments. Paying in installments may result an overall 10% additional fee due to the additional risks I have to assume.
Additional Fees:
Private Artwork -- Artwork that I am not allowed to stream working on or upload to my gallery on FA or e621 is subject to a minimum 200% price increase due to lost exposure. More complicated pieces made privately may also be subject to higher rates. Artwork I am not comfortable showing in my gallery or uploading may also have the Private Artwork fee applied to it. Furthermore, if I personally find my private artwork uploaded to another public site, then that also gives me permission to upload it publicly on my end. I will attempt to notify the commissioner should I discover it in case of an accidental leak, but the fee will not be refunded.
Deadlines -- If there is a deadline for a piece to be completed in, I may charge a higher rate, particularly if it is less than two weeks. If I do not meet the previously agreed on deadline, I will refund the deadline fee.
If you have any questions or want me to clarify something better on my Terms of Service, then please feel free to leave a comment or send me a note. I may delete comments from this journal if they are resolved or clarified in the Terms of Service here.

Almost 300 watchers! What to do?
Posted 3 years agoWoooo! Almost 300 watchers! :-D
I need to do something to show my appreciation for you all, therefore I would love some suggestions!
I know a lot of artists do raffles for milestones like this, but, personally I prefer the person that I am making art for put just a little bit more effort in it. Remember, it takes me several hours of work over a few days to get a piece done, so doing all that work for someone to happen get a number picked, doesn’t feel fun. Besides, it is not as interactive or as fun for everyone.
When I had 200 watchers (which wasn’t all that long ago…) I did a silly little writing competition: https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/10144914/
I had a lot of fun with that, so I want to maybe try something similar to that.
I was considering perhaps to make a competition where people suggest silly titles for a made-up story, and I have to draw the cover art for it. Something like a Chuck Tingle story cover for instance. :-P
I could do something where people get to vote on a few characters I’ve previously drawn and want to see more of.
I would love to hear your thoughts below!

10 Things I Don't Do That I Probably Should. :-P
Posted 3 years agoSo, there are a lot of things when doing my art thing that I probably could or should be doing, but don't. A lot of this comes from my own personal decisions and opinions, and I don't know, I just feel like sharing them here. I guess this is half a rant post, and half an explanation for the weird inner psyche of Fus. :-P
10 Things I Don't Do That I Probably Should
1. Leaving shouts on other people's pages when they watch or favorite one of my submissions.
This is one strategy that very much annoys the crap out of me and is probably what 95% of all shouts on the FA site are used for. I find it pretty annoying. However, as much as I dislike it, it is an effective strategy, as it puts your name out there more for other people to potentially spot your name and makes it far more likely for that person to return to look at your profile page and the rest of your gallery. Still, I just can't get myself to be that desperate. Instead, I just use shouts as one of my tools of anarchy to pester
Kiliq and some members of the Hawt Horse Herd. :-P
2. Have set commission prices
I don't actually have set commission prices. I have this sort of weird mental policy that if I am earning less than $35 for an art piece, then it's not worth the time effort, despite the usual effort it takes me to complete something is like 10 hours, so that's only $3.50 an hour. I also struggle to really put a price range on my work. The other thing is that I am constantly learning, and I test out different things nearly every commission I do. Therefore, I typically try do nowadays is to negotiate an estimated price based off the commissioner's budget and go from there. Many people state I undercharge for my work, and it's probably true, but at the same time, I want my commissioners to feel like they are getting the proper "bang for their buck." I also do not art as a career. I do digital art as a hobby that coincidently people can dangle money in front of me as an extra incentive to complete it. If I didn't have that, I probably would have burnt out and stopped years ago.
3. Ask for payment before starting on a piece
Pretty much all my artist friends scream at me for doing the complete opposite, as I have a "pay when I finish" policy. The reason I do that relates somewhat to the explanation above, as I do that as an incentive to actually work on and complete the piece. Yes, I know, I'm one of those people that eats all the boring part of the cereal before the marshmallows. :-P It's also a backup for me in the case I decide in the middle of the piece I don't think it is worth it in the end. I can't "take the money and run" when I don't have the money. :-P Of course, that also requires me to have a lot of trust in the commissioner to pay me when I am finished, and well, fortunately that hasn't happened to me. Maybe I'm just lucky, but pretty much all the people that have commissioned me have already commissioned someone else before, so I never really had reasons to worry too much.
4. Create Commission Slots/Queues
I don't really advertise that I am open for commissions and make a drive to fill up a bunch of commission slots. The first thing is that I don't like having queues, as that would just put too much pressure on me to rush my work or fill me with dread that there are all these other people waiting on me. My workflow can be somewhat unpredictable, so sometimes I can knock out two pieces in a week, while other times it can take me over a month to complete one. This is why I typically prefer to do my artwork one at a time, at most I can juggle two projects simultaneously when I wait for the response from the other commissioner when I reach certain points. The problem is that I honestly don't advertise when my commissions are open, and often just depend on someone messaging me that they want a commission. This might also explain why I haven't really had issues of non-payment, though also there can be times where I don't receive commissions. Typically what I do in those times is to make a YCH. Relatively recently, I've had a somewhat consistent stream of commissions going now, which explains the somewhat lack of YCHs being offered from me this year.
5. Creating Adopts and Repeatable YCHs
Quite a few artists create adoptable characters, as there is an audience of people that like hoarding characters they find neat and unique. While I don't think I would mind creating characters, I feel like I would get tired of coloring the same base over and over, hoping to create the one that someone would want. I also like trying to make each of my pieces unique, and not reuse the same formula over and over again like some sort of factory. This is also why I only do one slot for each YCH. I strive to have it to be unique, and for the artwork to be the commissioners. If it's not unique, then, well, what's the point of it? I pride myself in trying to match the piece with the character, I like knowing about the character and to create a story out of it the art piece without any words. Okay, yeah, what I mostly draw is essentially porn, but there's still a story to it. :-P Therefore making duplicative artworks I feel makes the artwork less of being art, and the spirit of the piece is lost.
6. Create accounts on other sites to share my art there (i.e. Twitter, DA, Inkbunny, .ect)
The main reason is that I am lazy. The other thing is that each place has its own set of rules and regulations. Twitter in my opinion is a cut-throat cesspool, and since it is a site that essentially tries to serve the greater public than focused on just furry stuff, it's too easy for people to accidently stumble on something they don't want to see and be far cruder and more negative about it. And, well, I just don't need to worry about that over there. As much as I will complain about FA with the lack of search filters and blacklist, it is still a place where I can share my work relatively peacefully. While I do occasionally upload a piece that I'm proud of over to e621, I still probably don't do it enough.
7. Share WIPs.
Well, I do, just not on FA. :-P I save that mainly on my Discord server, where I can be the enlightened despot over what goes on there. :-P I try to have some resemblance of content there. Yes, it is relatively quiet, but that's fine, it's mainly a very chill server that I share with some other artists. Uh, shameless plug -> https://discord.gg/Ay58rfH
8. Draw more fetish/kinky stuff
Not that there is anything wrong with it, but I do try to limit it. Some of my most viewed pieces are transformation related ones, though I don't often post or advertise transformation stuff. The main issue I see with drawing stuff like that is that it becomes too easy to become trapped into drawing just that. There's a horrible trend of what I call "one-fetish" people that will only care on that one thing. If I get an audience that just demand just that one thing and I get tired of it, then I am out of luck. Therefore, I try to have about as general of an audience as possible. I would much rather have people here for the art, rather than the kink. Therefore, I tend to view fetish/kink themes great for short term gains but can be quite detrimental in the long run.
9. Draw "Rule 34" art
One major thing I do not draw is "Rule 34" art, or I guess more properly, I don't draw art of popular copyrighted characters. This unfortunately very much hurts me in getting exposure as these particular characters are essentially easily accessible keywords in nearly any search engine. I guess compared to most other furries these days, I wasn't drawn into this community through these copyrighted characters but rather preferred to see other people's unique characters instead. "Rule 34" art in general feels distasteful to me, as it is often taking the character outside of its intended context. I also seem to view it as a way to make your art relevant in the search engine, and thus "Rule 34" artwork has become its own self-consuming beast that hurts people making characters that are actually unique.
10. Offering Sketch, flat color, simple shading commission styles
Another thing that can hold me back somewhat is that I avoid offering "simplified" art options. Most artist do something where they have sketch, flat color, or simple shading commissions. For me, I prefer to always do my art at the top of my ability. I might be able to simplify on the background, but I do have a goal to be as focused as possible in trying to deliver the best of my ability in each of my art pieces. The thing I pride myself the most in is in the improvement of my own art, and I feel if I offered cheaper and simplified commissions, I wouldn't be actually pushing myself to improve my art ability sufficiently.
Anyway, yes, that is all for now. :-P But feel free to leave your thoughts on this below or ask me any other questions. I just felt like I needed to get some of this off my chest in a way and just wanted to explain some of my kind of weird logic. I know in many ways, by not doing these things I am holding back on having my art becoming more recognized and appreciated, but at the same time, l also have my reasons, even if it is laziness. :-P

Looking for Ideas or Goals for Near-ish Future
Posted 3 years agoHello all!
Starting tomorrow evening, I am going to be essentially on my own for about six weeks as I will be housesitting for my mother while she goes on an extended holiday. I will admit that I am going to be a lot busier because of it, as I will have to take care of the house and property that is really a job for like a whole household of people, but I'll manage. The most important thing is that I will finally be free to actually schedule and plan out my whole day, rather than trying deal with the fickle whim of my mother, which will definitely help me to decompress more. The reason for the limited content from me in the past few weeks has largely been for preparations for my mother's trip as well of all the extra shenanigans she caused on top of it...
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had some ideas for a goal that I should try to achieve from now to the start of July. I'm thinking of creating some sort of contest or challenge of sorts for me to help encourage more productivity out of me. Maybe do some sort of "iron artist" challenge (2 pieces a week), or make some anatomy studies references and guides, or just draw silly character memes. I could also storyboard a short comic or draw some concept art of some story ideas I have. I don't know. Just give me some suggestions in the comments below on what you want to see! :-P
~~~~~~~~~
P.S. I am also planning on trying to stream working on art regularly during this time as well, so do give a follow over there so you don't miss out! https://www.picarto.tv/Fusilier
P.S.S. I currently also have one commission in the works, which I do plan on starting soon (hopefully Friday). Therefore, if anyone else in interested in commissioning me, send me a note and I'll gladly discuss it with you! Ideally, I want to be working on two art projects at a time so that I can jump between then when waiting on responses from the commissioner.
The Biggest Piece of Bullshit I’ve Ever Received...
Posted 3 years agoSo first off, I’m honestly the biggest anti-drama people out there. I don’t like causing it, I don’t want to get involved. But by god, I just can’t understand the bloody gall of this person who thinks their excuse for tracing art was in any way acceptable and I definitely need to vent. While I’ll leave this person’s username out of this, I have ZERO tolerance for art thieves, PARTICULARLY ones trying to profit from it. Please do not ask, or note me who this person is, as I won’t respond.
The other day, I caught a thief red-handed. They had traced a piece done by another with my character in it, then tried to hide it by mirroring the image and changing the arms, and tried to make gender variations then auction it off as a YCH. Welp, I’m a bit smarter than that, so I left a comment and demanded a takedown of the pieces. I also overlaid the original and their trace and literally everything of the body and head was an exact trace, nostrils, ears, eyes, brows, pecks, and nipples. It’s clear as day it’s 100% traced.
They did take it down, to their credit, so I was not going to pursue any other action.
Butttttt... their excuse is the absolute biggest piece of bullshit I’ve ever heard, and I’m sure others will get some very nice entertainment out of it:
Apparently they have this super duper strong photographic memory and he drew that from memory and totally didn’t intentionally trace it. Yeahhhh, ummm, no, I’m not buying it. Even if said person’s memory is that good, you’re still admitting to plagiarism there. Plus remembering some piece on the internet, then also flipping it horizontally and having it *perfectly* match the original? In your mind? Uh huh... suuuuuuuuuuurrrrrre...
They then tried to also deflect blame to another friend of mine saying they okayed it, which was a total lie as they never saw it. Even if that was true, it’s the original artist and I that own the piece, not my friend, so again, my friend’s say would mean absolutely nothing.
I mean, like it’s one thing to trace my character without my permission, but to not accept the blame, make bullshit excuses AND trying to put blame on a fellow friend into this? That’s the LOWEST of lows I’ve ever seen in all my years of my life. Like the tracing crime was bad enough, but by god, be a man and accept you got caught.
Anyway, rant over. As a reminder, due to the rules of FA, I will not share the person’s username as I don’t want people harassing the person. Hopefully they have learned a valuable lesson, and have grown as a person. Feel free to leave your thoughts here, but let it stay here.
Hopefully my next journal won’t be a rant one. :-P
Um, No. Why Would I Draw a Comic Page for a $40 Mousepad?
Posted 3 years agoSooo...
I know, a very very specific Fus rant, but one of my favorite games, Mount & Blade Bannerlord decided to host an art competition. They had three different competitions. The first one to make a battle map for the game, another to make a 3D weapon model for the game. The top winners for these two contests get a $1500 processor. Nice!
But, for a comic page, the only prize they are offering is a $40 USD mousepad for the top 10. I just think Taleworlds very much underestimated how much work and effort it takes to make 2D artwork, particularly for something like a comic page. A comic page is basically throwing MULPTILE pieces of artwork together, plus also having some sort of story and plot connection between each piece. My MINIMUM price for a piece is $35 USD, and that's like a very cropped and focused piece with no background of a single character. There's also NO guarantee that I will win said $40 mousepad either, so why would I do something that would be like $300-400 USD of artwork for the chance of getting a mousepad...
It just saddens me, because if the reward was something decent, I probably would have participated just because. :-/
My MINIMUM price for a piece is $35 USD, and that's like a very cropped and focused piece with no background of a single character. There's also NO guarantee that I will win said $40 mousepad either, so why would I do something that would be like $300-400 USD of artwork for the chance of getting a mousepad...
It just saddens me, because if the reward was something decent, I probably would have participated just because. :-/
2021 Yearly Recap
Posted 3 years agoIn art, 2021 was an extremely productive year for me! Seventeen completed pieces! Which is five over my original mental goal of one piece of art a month. This is also not even counting doodles!
I feel like the main thing is that I have developed a process that allows for me to produce good quality artwork consistently. In previous years, I could develop decent artwork, but it was very inconsistent (particularly in shading and lighting). I was constantly having to essentially relearn how to shade every piece I did, which would lead to a vicious burnout cycle. There are several pieces in the past few years which I never completed due to my disappointment with them back then. Getting art done was pretty rough... Online school stress and burnout was putting my art growth and productivity to a crawl. I very much felt like I was hitting a wall and not improving, and I really just couldn't figure out why. Truthfully, the past two years have felt like I have been a stick in the mud. 2020 started well, but came to a crashing halt due to COVID-19, then breaking my hip three months later, and trapped in an online school grind that only gave me December’s off... Not to mention being locked up living with my "not great but not terrible" family who put the vast majority of their effort for my sister and then expect me to figure everything out on my own... While the past two years weren't the worst in my life, as I knew I would survive it, it was more so just tightening your coat, close your eyes, and continue to plow through.
I uploaded a YCH in July this year after doing some experimental styles. And for whatever reason people liked it, and it got bided up way higher than I was comfortable with at the time. And then of all people
Morrigan_the_Marwari jumped in and won it. :-P We then streamed working on the YCH and chatted for like six bloody hours until 3 in the morning... But in the process I learned a ton, and then decided to shake up everything and go lineless. Ironically, I wasn’t actually happy with the finished YCH ( I was more happy with the test headshot -> https://www.furaffinity.net/view/42907941/ ) but it still ignited a new style, and finally pushed me back into a zone where I was satisfied with what I produced. The struggles I was having with mane density and inconsistent shading largely became resolved with my new method, and despite being more detailed, it has actually greatly accellerated my art throughput.
But still, of all things in recent years, I’m most proud of my improvement in art. It has helped me keep my morale up in a time I was stranded and litterally crippled. Can't show it to my family, but let's be honest, if they knew I was drawing porn for fun and profit, probably wouldn't help me at all. :-P Still, the last few months I’ve been far happier than the past two years combined, which I am immersely thankful for!
So, again, I really want to express my appreciation to all the people who watch, follow, favorite, and even just view my art. Just the thought that it gives them the tiniest amount of happiness, it’s all worth it to me.
First, I want to thank my buddies
Pyramid_Head_Approves and
Kiliq for our past, present and future support for each other! I know the present year things have been a bit more quiet than others due to work and life, but still. You two hear more from me than anyone else, which is impressive from super introverted me. :-P
I also want to thank my commissioners this year!
BlooperTrooper,
BuckskinDaphne,
Rainstorm and
ChestnutLuna who decide to give me money to have fun drawing stuff just to blow on my own fabricated bidding wars for fun. :-P
Next is my fellow wingmen
ALCaPWNy and
Panzerpferd for assisting me in attacking the D point in War Thunder. The game is 20 times better with friends!
Also, I have two new artist friends this year!
The fiirst is with
TemetNosce88 though I’m afraid I’m loosing the meme war with him, since I spend too much effort when I make a shitpost in comparison to his mass production... :-P
And the second is one of my Hawt Horse Artist collaborators
Dream_Merchant! We've probably made too many schemes and stream shenanigans, but I'm having a blast with them! :-D
If you all are watching me, there’s no reason at all why you shouldn’t be also watching them. :-P These two are fun and we’ll see what nonsense we’ll get each other into next year!
And finally, even though I’ve already mentioned her, I want to especially thank
Morrigan_the_Marwari yet again. You’ve helped me out a ton and inspired me to continue to improve my art! I seriously can't thank you enough! I can’t wait to see what you have prepared next! :-D
Anyway, that’s that. :-P I’m optimistic for 2022, and I’m anticipating for 2022 to be a very productive art year for me. I should also be able to start making my own revenue next year in investments, and finally get back my independence since college! This should allow for me to do more art and host more streams, and, well, just be the invididual I want to be. :-P
The First Note I Ever Received on FA...
Posted 4 years agoSo, in my very first days of being on FA (way back in July 2017), I received my first ever note. At the time, I had only had a handful of images uploaded, and was working on my free "Welcome to the Herd" project. I probably didn't even know what a note even was back then before clicking on the notification. :-P All it was titled was "question" which, well, obviously didn't reveal much before opening it. I probably assumed at the time it had to do with my "Welcome to the Herd" project (which was feral only, as I wasn't confident in drawing anthros then). So I then opened the note and began to read:
Hello,
i see your wonderful and excellent anthro artwork and want ask you are you open for Request ?
If Yes Scroll Under
Underneath it was an a brief explanation of their story they had. Or... well, except it wasn't brief. It just kept on going on, and on, and on..... Specific scenes, other fan-arts, character descriptions, links... I have ran the note through a word counter is it is the longest note I have ever received by a long shot, 2377 words. It's absolutely phenomenal, as it's about a story that only a first time fan-artist would ever love, dysfunctional grammar and an absolute bombardment of very specific requests.
Mind you, at the time, I had only drawn a single anthro piece at the time, which was (and still is) my profile picture. And let's be honest, I had enough sense at the time this note was a scam, to go after newbie artists who could easily be exploited for exposure with this copy pasted wall of text. :-P
But I never actually read all the way through it as I gave up after the first paragraph or two. And well, just for fun, I do want to stream reading though the whole thing. :-P I'm curious to see if any others would want to listen in!
I'm planning on streaming a lot over the next few days (as I have the house to myself) so I'm curious to find out what time would work the best for those interested in the reading! So please leave a comment below if you are interested and what time works best for you. I'll try my best to find a time that will work for the most amount of people.
Also, as a disclaimer, I don't want to attack or harass the user who sent this note. The writer is obviously German, and well, it does take quite the determination to write something and to also put yourself out there for people to read and critique your work. This note was also made over 4 years ago, and the writer as likely has also matured significantly by this point so hopefully they too will be able to also have a laugh over this.
Yes, I am doing this again. :-P
Posted 4 years agoSo, I sorta forgot that this is probably the worst time of the year to be doing a YCH or auction. It's the time of year that tends to make people to panic about finances after getting too excited in October, so people tend to commission or bid less, while artists tend to flood the YCH markets. Basically, everyone looses.
While I am financially secure, I do want to do some art, as well support the people that need more of the cash than me.
Sooooo.... I've done it again. I've bided on someone else's YCH: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/44602280/
Steal it from me if you can! :-D The winner of
Drizer's YCH above will get a $50 USD (!) discount on my own YCH: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/44590037/
Yeah, that's right. You're basically getting free art out of beating me in an auction. :-P
Survey Time and Future Art Giveaway Discussion
Posted 4 years agoSo, survey time!
Recently I have been streaming a bit more frequently, as it helps improve my art productivity significantly. Largely, I am just curious to know what times my watchers usually watch streams, so I can better schedule them! So if you could share what time you prefer watching streams, I'll greatly appreciate it! You can tell me what time in GMT or make me to do the conversion myself by telling me what time and timezone you are in. :-P
Also, one of these days I do want to stream the story of my first ever note I received on FA, a 2700+ word monster from this guy requesting me to draw free art for his story that only a first time writer would love. It'll great! :-P
In a similar thought, I am considering creating some sort of free art giveaway before the end of the year. The catch is that I want it to be some sort of silly competition, so the people who make the best overly dramatic reason for me to draw a free piece for them wins. They could make up a fake sob story, try to convince me to draw for them "for exposure," or just request for the most outlandish thing. The one that makes me laugh the most wins. :-D
I would love to hear your thoughts on this below!
Also, thank you all for watching and your support! I hope to continue be able to draw more art for you to love!
Don't let me get away with this YCH!
Posted 4 years agoHello everyone!
Dream_Merchant has a lesbian anthro YCH that is open for bidding, and it would be a total crime for me to get away with the current prices!
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/44302514/
So come on, let's have a bidding war! Make me spend more money! :-P
And also think of it this way, the more money I spend, the more commissions I have to take, which means the more art I have to draw. It's a total win for anyone watching me! :-P
So let's go! Let's FIGHT!
Decisions...
Posted 4 years agoShould I draw art or complete a 120 question Peregrine Academic Services comprehensive exam so that my university can realize how little I actually learned through their overpriced and barebones online program?
Decisions, decisions...
Schedule List and Upcoming Art!
Posted 4 years agoHello all!
I have decided to list out the order of what I am currently working on, as well as what I am planning on working on! The current online class I have been taking took quite a bit of additional effort, which ate a ton into my wanted art goals. I do not know how busy my next class will be, but it should be the last class I have to take for my MBA program, and hopefully the last class I will ever have to take in my life! I am so beyond done with school, college and universities... :-P
1 - Working on a SFW Commission for
Kiliq Linework mostly done, despite that this piece will likely become lineless. :-P
2 - Reference Sheet for Anthro Fusilier, likely both SFW and NSFW
3 - Create Reference sheet/map system for Lotte. (Basically, I am making a marking map for Lotte that will allow for me to easily apply her markings with the magic of technology so I don't have to draw every one of her damn spots individually, which should allow for me to draw her more frequently and have uniform markings. If I can make a system that works, it should allow for me to draw more complex colored creatures faster.)
4 - Create short comic for Lotte, should be very cute!
I am also still technically open for commissions, so if you are interested contact me and we can discuss about it! I will likely be able to put in a simple commission in between some of my own personal projects above.
I am also wanting to stream a bit more working on art, as honestly it really helps motivate me getting stuff done when I know someone else could be watching me. It keeps me focused. Still, I need to figure out what to do with voice and music. I prefer talking, but honestly, I don't usually have the privacy to really talk out loud about some of the stuff I am drawing on the screen. :-P I also probably need to subscribe to YouTube Premium or YouTube Music so that you all don't have to listen to my ads, since that is where I usually get my music. I listen to lots of trailer music, Two Steps from Hell and Really Slow Motion, which I don't know if other streaming services offer them, since it's not traditionally everyday listening music. :-P Later this month, there will be a time where I should be house sitting by myself, therefore I plan on going full out streaming and drawing then. If anyone wants to co-stream with me then let me know!
Until next time,
~Fusilier~
Considering Offering a New Commission Type
Posted 4 years agoHello all! I have had a thought that I would like some feedback on!
Free Rein "Iron Artist" Commissions
I remember a few years back, there was a bit of a fad of artists doing a sort of “iron artist challenge” trying to draw a certain amount of things over a certain time period. It then turned into a commission style of sorts, where someone would become a personal artist for someone for a month after an upfront fee.
I am considering to offer a similar commission style to this, where someone pays like $100 upfront (or win in an auction), and then I draw multiple free reign pieces of artwork of their characters. For $100 will likely be about 4 to 5 different solo individual art pieces, so each piece will be theory $20-25 dollars each. These will likely have simple abstract backgrounds or outdoor scenes, as they are much easier to draw for me.
Why? Typically, my inspiration happens in bursts where I spontaneously want to draw something. This is where a lot of my YCH bases come from. However, the problem with YCHs is that I then have to break my flow once I get to a certain point and then offer it for sale or auction. This forces me to put it on hold for a few days. By that point, my burst of inspiration is long over, and it takes me a while to motivate myself again. Therefore, instead of drawing YCH bases, I can instead transform my motivation for free rein commissions. I get an idea, apply the characters to it, and then draw as much as I can while the inspiration lasts.
The advantage of this for the commissioner is that they can get artwork of their characters for fairly cheaply as well as have multiple pieces. It is a good way to help show off your new character and express their personality. Before I accept the commission, we will discuss what themes we would find acceptable. For example, you may want more SFW themes or try to tell a story of sorts. I do want the artwork to properly reflect the characters, so a lot of the discussion will likely be about that. It also give a good gallery for your character, which should bring more interest for your profile as well!
The bonus for myself is that it allows for me to make art quicker and add more to my gallery, rather than worrying about trying to find different people to order a specific YCH or commission. I am able to use my inspiration more and hopefully get more done. I can also have the characters in mind when making the inspiration, saving me from having to go back and reimagine a previously made YCH. It will allow for me to make more art and get additional views.
What are your thoughts about this? Would you be interested in Free rein commissions like this? Any questions or comments would be greatly appreciated!
It is a good way to help show off your new character and express their personality. Before I accept the commission, we will discuss what themes we would find acceptable. For example, you may want more SFW themes or try to tell a story of sorts. I do want the artwork to properly reflect the characters, so a lot of the discussion will likely be about that. It also give a good gallery for your character, which should bring more interest for your profile as well!
The bonus for myself is that it allows for me to make art quicker and add more to my gallery, rather than worrying about trying to find different people to order a specific YCH or commission. I am able to use my inspiration more and hopefully get more done. I can also have the characters in mind when making the inspiration, saving me from having to go back and reimagine a previously made YCH. It will allow for me to make more art and get additional views.
What are your thoughts about this? Would you be interested in Free rein commissions like this? Any questions or comments would be greatly appreciated!
Taking Art Suggestions, Ideas and Themes!
Posted 4 years agoHello all!
Unfortunately I haven’t been as active in artwork as I would like, been a bit too stressed with online university and became trapped in an unhealthy and unconstructive daily routine. Therefore I’m going to be trying rearrange my daily/weekly pattern and set aside time to deliberately focus on artwork.
Still, I have been looking for ideas or themes that you are interested in seeing me draw. I do want to challenge myself a bit and try drawing more unique things, as well as refining a lighting/shading style or a different art style completely. However, I also want to draw art pieces and themes that you all would be interested in (SFW or NSFW).
One theme I have made some WIPs on my anthro characters in a Dark Souls setting, more specifically Dark Souls 3. I wouldn’t mind make it into a series of them going through the world as well as it gives me practice in drawing different environments, as well as armor, clothing and motion.
I have also recently been exposed to the game Valheim. I love it as it’s a perfect blend of exploration, survival and combat. I haven’t done online co-op yet, but I expect it to be a blast. I would most definitely want to try and draw art of it while it is still fresh and popular.
Another idea I have also created was to draw scenes immediately after WWII and demobilization. This can have themes like nature reclaiming destroyed vehicles, or fields of warbirds awaiting scrapping. Probably won’t be anthro themed, and will focus more on animals and vehicles. I could expand it to also be a civilian theme as well.
My final idea is a railroad or railroading theme, most likely set in the United States in the 1920-30s. I’ve always loved trains, though they are also very complicated beasts to draw. However, I think the final result will be worth it.
I know most of these themes I suggested above are SFW, but I don’t mind receiving any NSFW suggestions.
As much as I don’t want to depend off of making YCHs, that is the only thing I have fairly consistently sold. Therefore, if you all have ideas for a YCH that you would like, then let me know! I want to know what body types, genders, species, poses, number of characters, themes that you would like for me to offer. I’ll even give you a discount if I take your suggestion!
Therefore, please comment below! Any suggestion is appreciated!
Free Art Raffle/Request!
Posted 4 years agoHello all!
First of all, I do want to thank everyone who has watched me or favorited any of my pieces over the past few years! While I have drawn art mainly just for the fun of it there is also still a ton of satisfaction to see others appreciate it as well! I know it's dumb to get satisfaction watching numbers on the top right of the screen go up, but to know that people like something you made and want to see more of it, well, is extraordinarily encouraging and supportive to me. It's not like I get overwhelmed with happiness every digit, but I will also admit do get a small little smile seeing the numbers occasionally tick up every week or so, which does add up.
I also want to give appreciation to my good friends
Kiliq and
Pyramid_Head_Approves as they are the only people that hear from me every single day and I would of had never met them without us using FA. I'm not social butterfly, and I am really selective with the people that I communicate with frequently. For me to share train photos, rant about War Thunder Naval Forces, or just chat about everyday stuff with, is honestly quite the honor, and I cannot appreciate you two enough!
But now with that out of the way, here's a free art Raffle/Request for all of my watchers, both old and new!
To take part, please comment on this journal with one your characters, as well as describing what pose or action the character is doing (if you can't decide, then just say I am free to draw with it). The art piece will have only one character in it. It can be SFW, NSFW, Anthro or Feral. Once there is a small list, I will pick the requests I like the most to draw.
Here's a few tips to get your request more likely selected (not all of these are strict requirements, I am just more likely to choose requests that satisfy these conditions):
-Have a reference sheet or image for the character
-Character has realistic/natural color
-Character has realistic or believable anatomy
-Character is equine (I know, I'm biased. :-P )
-Classic or simple poses
-No bizarre fetishes (Yes, you know what I am taking about)
I believe that is all, so please feel free to leave your requests here in the comment section! Also, feel free to share this with whoever you want, the only requirement to enter is for them to watch me on FA. And thank you all so much again!
Commissions Open! $35 USD Starting Price!
Posted 5 years agoHello all! Commissions are open! I am only taking a maximum of three commissions at this time, though the same person can request multiple commissions if they want. My goal is that each commission will only take two weeks to complete. I'll accept both SFW or NSFW, feral and anthro.
You can send me a note through FA, though I would prefer to be private messaged on Discord. My Discord tag is Fusilier#9891
All prices are in USD
Single Character - $35
Additional Character (2 extra characters max) +$15
Detailed Background +$20
Private Art (artwork will not be uploaded) +$20
Other notes:
These prices are not fixed, and I can be flexible with them. For example, if the character is reasonably complex, I may add an additional cost. If a character isn't a primary focus (like only a head or the body is only partially in the scene) then the price is reduced. $35 is the lowest possible price for a commission. However, once we agree on the cost of the commission, I will never the increase the price of it.
Also, I pride myself in drawing realistic anatomy and proportions. Therefore, I will *not* draw crotch boobs on feral mares.
I prefer to draw equines, though I can draw other species.
Payment needs to be through PayPal. Payment is required when I finish the commission, though I will accept it early if that is more convenient.
If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment or message me! Thanks!
