Rejoining the Fandom: Who are you people?
General | Posted 10 years agoSo, I've been out of the fandom for over 2 years. I'm somewhere different in my life. I sort of want back in. Just for a few months. I have some questions now for you people (nobody is gonna read this)
1)I think some of the mainstays are still active in the MiFurs scene like Synth, Ix, and....some other people....maybe. But do I still know anybody in there or have all the players changed?
2) Is MidWeek Movie meet still a thing? Of so is it an open event?
3) Can I bring beer?

Internships: I figured out why I want to be a police officer
General | Posted 12 years agoThis summer I have an internship with a police department. It's been extremely educational and a blast and a half. It opened my eyes to what a good officer can be and what an average officer can be. It has provided me with a good feel of how much community orientation and familiarity means to officers.
Previously I've had a very cynical view regarding whether I wanted to still pursue a career in Law Enforcement, frankly I don't feel that many of my classmates have an acceptable degree of competency. This internship has shown me what I want to emulate in my line of work. That the vast majority of officers are very ethical individuals. They are very willing to hear reason and have genuine empathy towards those who find themselves on the wrong side of the law. The best part of it though is the officers that do not show an above average level sense of ethics and are completely unsympathetic during their interactions with the public are looked down upon by the majority. That many officers do the job out of love for the community and a deep need to express that love by bettering it. Also the officers who just do the job for a pay check or to "affirm their masculinity" rarely make it in the long run and will burn out in a few years. This internship has renewed my love of the field and given me new energy to not only perform all the skills that I'll need but to excel and master them.
TL;DR: I have an internship and I like it a lot.

Special Containment Procedure for SCP___
General | Posted 13 years agoSo friend of mine has just discovered the SCP so I've been on a kick. For those who are uninformed. SCP is a secret organization that stores and studies paranormal articles and subjects ranging from harmless rubber ducks to giant lizards who are impossible to kill and hell-bent on killing everybody. It's all user submitted and we wrote up a SCP for my table being that it seems to constantly secrete butter or margarine.

Drinking to excess
General | Posted 13 years agoNow I can't say that drinking is a terrible and awful thing without somebody turning to me and force feeding me humble pie But I can say this: I'll never understand how people drink themselves into the hospital.
Maybe I've trained myself to realize when my night has turned to shittyness and call it quits but still. This also goes for Drunk Drivers and Angry Drunks I'll never understand them A: Why would you leave where the booze is? and B: Why would you do something that only makes you angry?

The Move back to Big Rapids
General | Posted 13 years agoSo I moved back up to school and I noticed something my new apartment is really tiny, it's an 8x8 square. I barely have room for a bed and desk in there. I've got far too much crap for that space.
But in other news I learned that my folks will take advantage of my generosity if I take them out to dinner...$110 for the food, $40 Bottle of wine, and a $30 tip

The Water Monster is right Cat Man "They are among us"
General | Posted 14 years agoSo some discoveries have occurred
1) I hate that little part of my brain that fucks everything up for me.
Yes yes I know dear reader I can't go blaming my brain because I suck at life. But Damn it just let me have this.
2) Killing Floor = Amazing awesome Zombie killing time
The game is good and worth the 5 buck I spent on it
3) People be Weird
I used to think I was weird, like unnaturally weird, but recently I've met a number of people that seem to prove me wrong. I am Normal everybody else is weird as hell man. I met a kid who was blaming his parents for his failing grades because they gave him to much discretionary funds that he proceeded to spend on narcotics and this ass hole was legitimately blaming his folks. I've met other weird people but I could write whole books on those people
4) I LOVE MONEY
What more can I say
5) Caffeine makes me go into a bought of crippling depression
I don't drink coffee or energy drinks often so I have no caffeine tolerance but recently I've had reasons to consume this strange drug and I found out that it makes me HATE myself like just yesterday I had a Red Bull and I seriously contemplated not ever doing anything ever again. Also I slowly realized that I have nothing to celebrate which brings me to number
6) I have grown fond of my vices
Very fond of them indeed let it be Alcohol or tobacco or that feeling that you get from shoving a Q-Tip into your ear canal I don't know how I would live with out them
7) My sister and I shall raise some feral animals
My sister and I have determined something; about every June we have to kill a number of raccoons and possums that seem to find our barn fit for habitation because if we don't kill them they will kill the barn cats and then we will have a rodent infestation (mankind fucking with the circle of life bullshit) normally these creatures come bearing young that we typically must dispose of in less than pleasant ways. But This year shall be different we shall instead try to raise and domesticate a few of these kits because we want to see how difficult domesticating a raccoon could possibly be I think it sounds like fun

What the SHIT FUCK IS WRONG WITH THIS MOTHER BITCH
General | Posted 14 years agoSo I just finished watching All Dogs Go To Heaven (A Lovely Film From my Youth that I have not seen since said youth) I decieded to watch this film for Three Reasons:
1) I recently have come down with some sort of terrible respiratory infection And I could not sleep due to a acute lack of oxygen being able to make it into my Brain.
2)I recently learned about the Horrific, Unfortunate, and Tragic Demise of the young voice actress Judith Barsi. She Died on July 25, 1988 (All Dogs Go To Heaven premiered in theaters on November 17, 1989)
3) I was Feeling Nostalgic and Like I said before I had not seen the movie since the late 90's or early 2000's
So I've come to a few conclusions:
1) I am saddened by the fact that Modern Family Films Fail To Create Lovable Characters Such as Charlie B. Barken
2) I know that this will not be the most popular conclusion but if you make fan art depicting amazing characters in lewd positions. Then If You'd Kindly Take Your Hand And INSERT IT FAR INTO YOUR RECTUM.
Now I understand that People have different tastes in shit and I can deal with most of my childhood cartoons being sodomized by another childhood cartoon because my views were destroyed by the direct to video shit that Disney insists on throwing at children (example Land Before Time part 13 I am not joking it came out in 2007) I can even Deal with new modern characters taking multiple phallic object simultaneously (example My Little Pony) just because I knew that it was inevitable.
But I just recently learned of the sequel and Cartoon series to All Dogs go to heaven and I wasn't feeling detached nostalgia but an active admiration for the Film as A Work of Art. And you know I really shouldn't be this angry about it I should have seen this from a mile away (it is the Internet after all) but alas I did not (the chest infection and prolonged exposure to conciseness I imagine play a role in this)
This is My Rant And I'm Sticking To It

On the Subject of Social Intoxication
General | Posted 14 years agoRecently, I attended My First Furmeet, I have to say that it was an enjoyable experience. I am Positive I made a complete ass of myself and I will not be allowed back to another one. But Fuck it, I had fun. I would like to organize a meet one day.
Downside is though that what I want to do probably would end in disaster.
On the Subject of drinking. I do enjoy it and in the past four days I have Gotten Three people black out drunk by destroying them in quarters and I really want to go out and do some D&D otherwise known as Drinking & Dancing.
Also, It's weight loss time I found out I weigh 230 That's Bullshit I'm dropping down to 210 by spring and 195 by summer. I Swear this.

I'm a Very Special Kind Of STUPID
General | Posted 14 years agoSo this is my third time this week pulling an all nighter. Because I'm Fucking stupid
Also I discovered something called Omegle. Omegle is chat roulette minus the camera but it is just as sexually charged, I ended up wasting many hours posing as a woman who was willing to have a sexual encounter and right as some pervert was describing how they were going to undress me with their teeth I would describe the size of my massive painis. But I spent even more time posing as a man named Carlos and starting some soap opera scripts with the peoples.
I'm had a couple of interesting conversations that I saved so I might post them or whatever.

There's something different about that boy
General | Posted 14 years agoSo I'm coming home from work and I'm all sorts of excited. Like really excited. Not because there is something super fantastic and amazing happening at my place or that the UPS man came. But, I'm all excited because I have some good Stout, Pipe tobbacco and I can watch the new episode of MLP as well as other cartoons, On the Big TV (that's right big pimping no more laptop watching for this dude) And I plan on indulging in all of these at once.
Now the only thing that I am missing is some sort of sex and I'd have all of my vices in a row.

On Working, Conventions and stuff
General | Posted 14 years agoI know that I am nothing special and that my employeers can replace me in a "New York minute" I also realize that as an employee I don't get much of a say in how they conduct buisness but, this does not mean that they can leave me and my fellow coworkers completly in the dark on all subjects. We literally do not know when we are working untill the night before or the day of. Frankly, it's frustrating. But that is the way of it.
On the subject of conventions. I have attended one convention in my life however, I've attended it for seven years know. This is the great Detroit, MI convention Youmacon. Great fun is had every year and I have seen it progress from under 1500 people in a Hilton in Troy to the nearly 15,000 con goers that have out grown the Mighty Ren Cen and will now spill over in to the Cobo for 2012.
I go to it each year for my fandom fix and for the past six years it has been money well spent. But this year I can't say that I feel satiated but rather that I wasted my time.
To be Frank I think I've seen all that Youmacon can offer.
But this isn't to say that I didn't do anything I learned to waltz (which I then taught many women) I went to a rave and skanked my ass off, I met John St. John and I met the perfect Pinkie Pie cosplay example ever (seriously she had the dress, hair, voice, manurisims, even the singing down for all intents and purposes she was Pinkie Pie in human form) I also found out that I was remembered by other Youmacon Veterens as "That Guy who can't Sing, Dance, nor is he gentle with others. But, Damnit when he starts dancing the party gets 20% cooler" (I was told this by a couple of people. True story)
But for some reason I feel like I could have done a lot more at Youmacon. Or that there should be more to do. I want to go to another con.
I Want to experiance more events in my life time. I am 20 years old and I am turning 21 in five days. My Paternal Grandfather Died at 69 so I am almost one third done with my life. And if the speed at which these past summers have gone by then I better get to living. I do not want to die thinking I really wish I went to... I don't want to waste my life in some small town with my happy family. I want excitement.
Ah Hell! I'm Young Why should I even be thinking about such things? I can do a Lot of living in the next fifty years. So I'm Off I've got studying to do.

Different types of Dorks
General | Posted 14 years agoSo, I determined that there are a couple of different kinds of Dorks in this world. Being a dork is now a little mainstream (I personally blame pokemon and videogames) but there are my stereotypes and it is based on two big hobbies.
1)Anime
2)Table Top games
I myself am a table top dork. I play or have played everything from munchkin to magic, DnD to Rifts, Settlers of Cattan to Warhammer 40k. I also watch anime like Spice and Wolf or Ika Musume. In High school this was the norm for the dorkly ones. Members of the RPG club were also members of the Anime club and that's what I thought was correct. And when I go to a anime con (I've only been to anime cons) I thought nothing of the people whom take Anime WAY to seriously were just weirdos.
But being that I've been to both my school's anime club and gamers club I've noticed some major differences between people that prefer Anime over those that prefer Table Top games.
LIST O' DIFFERENCES
1) Anime dorks are alot less diverse I think it is because they surround themselves with people whom are exactly like them. At the anime club here it is a room of clones with the same opinions and general preferances, there are a few exceptions but the statement holds. And heaven forbid if an individual talks bad about a show that they enjoy (I'm sorry but Claymore is out right terrible how somebody can take enjoyment out of it is beyond me.)
Table Top dorks are much more prevelant outside of the game room. I've met more guys who play Ultramarines in the boxing ring than people who watch Ranma 1/2 in my classes. This probably is because Table Top games have been around for Decades where as anime has only been Big in the U.S for the past fifteen years. Anime is still a babe comparatively. Just for some comparison Astro Boy arrived in the U.S in 1963 and Little Wars (a miniture war game that was made by H.G Wells) is from the early 20th century.
2) Table Top dorks are much more outgoing with being an ass. This probably has to do with the above reason and with that everybody who has played D&D or some other fantasy game Has made a Drunken Dwarf Fighter with a charisma of eight and they Role Played the shit out of that.
Anime dorks are lacking this experiance (because of this Table Top dorks are more fun to drink with) and they seem to have that quiet reserved character this comes out at cons but that may be the influence of the Table Top dorks with the combination of many people like themselves.
3) Anime dorks are do seem to have more romantic relationships than Table Top dorks. This is pretty obvious to figure out why. Anime dorks include more women. Anybody who has been in a game room can see it is a man cave with less football and more cave. Also, Anime has a lot more relationship themes where many table top games are very "Macho" being war or conflict is the setting. So by the ratio there are more oppurtunities for Anime dorks to intermingle and also just by law of averages there are more Fine looking women in the Anime dork section rather than the Table Top dork section. However, I will say I've met some very fun women while playing table top games some good looking, Some less than good looking but fun to hang with all the same.
If you cant tell I do have a little bias but hey what's a man to do.
Whatever you hobby may be have fun with it and never take it too seriously.

Well hell. So Update on life changing status. It's work to be social I mean you gotta go out and find people, make conversation, learn that you have nothing in common, Make yourself have something in common, then "talk" never been good at that last part. So far though if I have learned one thing alcohol makes the process alot easier. That or the good old Hooka (Damn I love tobacco).
Oh and I have discovered that there are furries on the West Side of Michigan as well and that a Guy I went High School with seems to becoming quite the internet craze. He's a cool dude and very talented artisically Check him out
sweatshirt
Like I said cool cat check him out especially if you like Ponies. But it's sort of funny because I was on the internet a while ago and i stumbled upon something in a forum that I know that Sweatshirt (is that how I would reffer to him its different not using real names on the internet) was jibba jabbing about on Facespace and so I went to his Deviant art and well I found that with he had gained a following. So BAM I know a Internet celeberaty! WHATCHU GONNA DO NAO BEYATCHS!
Finally, I'm working on figuring out what I'm gonna contribute to the Internet. Ya know finding that artistic side of me (Note: It probably Died long ago) also working on a character but my inability to draw is a drag and I'm not one to ask somebody to do it for me.
I'm off to smoke a cigar. So until next time "Keep your stick on the ice."
Next Subject: Who is looking at my page? If you are Please Leave a Comment

Oh and I have discovered that there are furries on the West Side of Michigan as well and that a Guy I went High School with seems to becoming quite the internet craze. He's a cool dude and very talented artisically Check him out
sweatshirtLike I said cool cat check him out especially if you like Ponies.

Reinventing myself: Roll for initiative Monkey Boy!
General | Posted 14 years agoI've been on and off to the Fandom. I've always thought that it was a cool thing to get involved with but I also looked at my Complete and Total lack of artistic talent and went: "Ahhh Nope. I can't get involved with that stuff I don't know how to be cool or popular on the internet or in real life." However, I've Recently adopted a personal philosophy about my life and it more or less deals with me being done with pussy footing around about who or what I want to be and what I want to do.
So I figure that if I enjoy something then God Dammit I'm gonna commit to it. So here I am! I'm gonna be loud! I'm gonna be bold! I'm gonna go out and experiance shit for myself enough sitting around waiting for shit to come to me! I'm gonna be proactive and take the Fucking Lead!
I don't Know why but I have chosen the furry community as part of my new found sense of self. I don't know how I will contribute to it. I'm not in any way an artist. I'm not a good weaver of tales I am a essay writing god though (years of programing). My skill with glue and fabrics is Lacking to say in the least. But I do know a couple of things.
1. I am great at making an ass out of myself (foot in mouth dosn't even begin to start to explain it)
2. I've always found it very enjoyable to stick out of a crowd.
3. I'm young and I have many years to fix my mistakes but I've made to few of them in my life.
4. I really am serious about this so I think it's time to get started
