So like long ago I got a Real Life Book published. I never super pursued further publishing because I did it largely out of the greatest of my motivators, spite.

So I've got some sequels and other works that are Real World Publishable but I've never posted them anywhere. KoFi and stuff lets you set up a store now, though, and I was wondering if like. I should sell them on KoFi or maybe I should make a Patreon/Substar where I can put the stories up for people to buy access to.

I dunno. Musing on ideas. They're worth a few bucks, I think, and coming from me, a person who regularly denigrates his own writing, I think that means a lot. But I'd also like them to be "available," if that makes sense. I don't know if I'm more thinking out loud or looking for people's thoughts here.

So uh, writing, not going so hot.
I used to be able to sit here and just churn out words, but unfortunately, due to a lot of weird life circumstances, I can't do that anymore, and it kind of sucks ass.
Part of it is because a lot of my time is taken up by house repair and outdoor maintenance of the pastures and stuff. Part of it is because I've lost a lot of that discipline I used to have, to just. Sit there and work. And part of it is because a few years back I started suffering from severe migraines, and much like Gollum I can no longer stand light for long periods of time.
I apologize to those I never got to for their snippets, I only ended up taking two on. I've got some work in the pipes, but as things narrow and you're forced to pick and choose more, it's weird what becomes important for you to get done.
Like it sucks because I LIKE doing commissions and writing people's ideas out. But I just don't seem capable of doing it as easily as I once did.
Still, it's been like a year at the new place here in Kentucky and I'm getting in a better rhythm, learning the ins and outs, and figuring out how to deal with my Dumb Brain. So hopefully I'll be able to do more in the future.

Thanks for all the interest; I've got my new setup and I've been able to go through all the ideas and I'll go ahead and start on them. I'll give until the end of July for people to submit any last minute ideas.

I have no hard lean towards which character I'm going to use so if you really wanna be squished under Zer's balls - or conversely Datura, or Jack, or whatever - I'm sure we can figure something out if you let me know.

It's been a lot of adjustment, to say the least. I've had a lot of things happen, and the fact that I'm like a weird mountain man now - well, hill man, I guess, the land is all hills - is also weird. I have three Very Large Dogs With Hooves on the property to take care of and we get lots of deer visitors, which one of my Very Large Dogs stares and screams at because he really doesn't like visitors.

The place itself has required a lot of fixing up, but we've gotten a lot of it done so far. It's sort of been a double-edged sword because on the one hand it's drained a lot of resources but on the other I don't really have the time to take on commissions writing or anything. But as things get done, I'm hoping to get back to a more normal pace, and it has allowed me to... sort out mentally some of the things I'd like to do, figure out which stories are the most important ones to me to tackle.

There's absolutely a huge feeling of impending doom still, but. Trying to ignore that.

So yeah. Getting slowly back into things. Hopefully it won't be much longer and I'll have an actual schedule down a little more and I might even be able to sneak in doing a writing commission or two. We'll just have to see how it goes.

I'm moving to Kentucky. I am going to be a Horse Farmer.

It may be partly my fault.
But yes, my laptop finally gave in and died. Its sacrifice was apparently not in vain, however, because I've actually been able to finish Grave Expectations, so I'll be editing that and getting it up at some point.
Been... a rough last while. Super long days, and I'm real exhausted. But I'm aiming to move soon, down south to Kentucky, where I may become a Real Horse Farmer.
So yeah. Big changes coming up, one way or the other. Might take on a comm or two in the near future to help pay for everything.

Speaking of which, I'm musing on taking on one or two comms. I've had some interest that I've had to turn down, but I also have had some annoying unexpected costs come up, which always seems to happen. Might even be willing to take on a multi-chapter project.

Also just finding it impossible to work on my own personal projects right now. Can't get the words to line up right. I have all these ideas and no execution, you know? It's obnoxious as all heck. I dunno if it's writer's block or something else. Maybe there's some unfinished story blocking up my mental tubes. Like something stuck in my brain plumbing I have to flush out.

Also thinking vaguely of doing YCH-style stories. So I'd have a basic plot premise and all that, and I'd put your character in. Obviously they'll stay in character as themselves and their reactions and I won't do anything you wouldn't like, but otherwise I'd get to write basically whatever I wanted, or I could test out some different ideas from the usual.

I'm always curious about people's stories and ideas, so if you want to just ramble about your characters, your worlds, your ideas, I'd love to hear it! You can always note me if you're not comfortable leaving it in a comment, too.

I've decided to make a Trello so that people can see where I'm at with my current queue of projects: I figured this was a good way to keep people informed as to what's available and where I'm at with things, since I'm running into the more-than-occasional delay with my work due to various other things going on in life. I think sometimes I forget that I haven't actually posted the stories/commissions I've written. I should really do that.

I am very very slowly getting back to writing. I'm going to do a few short stories to limber up, and then I have some personal projects I want to get done. Commissions are like... 90% no right now? If you really want one you can submit an idea to me and I'll think about it, but. Don't take it personally if I say no, because I still feel dead as hell.

But I think once I find my flow again it'll help a lot. It's just been very hard to start, and I've had a lot of Life Is Here To Steamroller You interruptions lately. Too much stick, not enough carrot. Where's my damn carrot?
