Starting the patterning phase
General | Posted 9 years agoI have all of the foamwork done to my satisfaction, and I am starting to make the pattern. I started with the legs today, and over 3 Hours, I managed to get the sides and calves done. I still need to get the front and the inside of the legs patterned, but that will be for tomorrow.
My goal is to have the patterning phase done my March 1, and I think I can do it.

Zero Rabbit 2.0 Start!
General | Posted 9 years agoI am starting work on Zero Rabbit 2.0 today. I went and bought $50 of foam and made a dtd of my head yesterday so I can make this head a lot better than my previous head.
I am going to go for a more kemono style look for Zero this time around, as that is what I originally intended, but it just didn't work out last time.

I am prepared for the next Fat Bunny Week
General | Posted 9 years agoBeing a fursuiter who is a rabbit, I figured that I could try my paw at stuffing some padding in my fursuit and participating in the next fat bunny week come August. I purchased some pillows to use for padding and tested them out today.
I am very pleased with how my fursuit looks when padded.

Hallowee was fun!
General | Posted 9 years agoI brought my fursuit into work for our annual office costume contest and won 1st prize.
After I got done with work, I went out for an hour and a half in case any trick-or-treaters showed up. Near the end of the hour and a half, some freinds showed up and I got to show them my suit. They were impressed.
Pics will be showing up here within the week.

Total Expense
General | Posted 9 years agoI just tallied up the total cash and time investment I made into this suit, and including all of the screw ups I made becasue this was my first time making a fursuit, this cost me as follows:
$737
and
202 Hours of work over the past year.
It was well worth it, cause I now have a fursuit!

Basting Finished
General | Posted 9 years agoJust finished basting together the right foot today, which means that all of the basting for my fursuit is done. All that is left is to sew a final stitch into all of the seams and glue all of the head/feet pieces to their respective bits of foam.
That will be this weekend, and I should have my fursuit finished by Sunday night, ready for Halloween on Monday!

Busy week this week, finishing up my fursuit
General | Posted 9 years agoI am going to have a busy week working on finishing up my fursuit this week, as I want him ready to greet trick or treaters on Halloween.
I got the head fur basted together, and just need to add the dark green har and eyeebrows before gluing the fur onto the head.
I got some help yesterday from a family member fitting the bodysuit, and we got the legs fixed up, tomorrow will be the fitting for attaching the fixed up legs back onto the refitted body, and then it (the bodysuit) will be ready for final sewing!
Ater all of that, I need to do a final round of sewing on the gloves and the tail, and then I need to baste, fit, and final sew the feet together, and figure out some straps for holding theleg padding in place. Then he will be ready to wear!
I think I will be able to get all of this done by Halloween!

Finished a Leg
General | Posted 9 years agoJust got done sewing together one of my fursuit's legs. Took about 1 hr 30 minutes between pinning and sewing.
Difficulties
General | Posted 9 years agoI hit some difficult spots today, as sewing the inner leg pieces together took about 4 times longer than I expected, and the arms aren't connecting to the torso correctly. I will have to wait until Wednesday to get that figured out. I will need to hand-baste the handpaws, as the density of pins in the fingers right now would be unwieldy for me o use my sewing machine.
On the plus side, I fit the fur pieces on the head, and those seen to be fitting well. Just some minor alterations to make there and I will probably hand sew the head pieces together.

All nighter
General | Posted 9 years agoI pulled an all nighter last night working on my fursuit, and I I managed to get all of the white fur pieces cut.
Ears are done!
General | Posted 9 years agoI finished both ears today, it took about 5 hours total, and tomorrow I am going to start on the bodysuit! Instead of tailoring the fur after I cut it, I will remake the pattern out of fleece and tailor that, so when it comes time to cut the fur, I should not need to make many adjustments afterward.
Long Weekend
General | Posted 9 years agoI have a 4 day weekend starting tomorrow, so I plan on spending some of my weekend fursuit making!
My first order of business is the other ear, which should take about 2-3 hours, and then I'll start laying out the patterns for the bodysuit. Hopefully I can get a lot done this weekend!

Sew it Begins!
General | Posted 9 years agoI have gotten situated so I can cut and sew my fur. I just got an ear about 70% done in about 4 hours, but half of that time was relearning how to sew after 10 years of not doing it. Now that I am back in the swing of things as sewing fabric is concerned, The other ear should go together in around 3 hours.
I look forward to getting more pieces of my fursuit sewed together.
