Game recommendation: Timberwoods
Posted 4 years agoGood day demons and demon hunters!
Lots and lots of nice, new games have been showing up as of late. But today, I wanna recommend you all a great, new project that really caught my attention: Timberwoods.
Timberwoods narrates the adventures of Tibo. A tribal wolf tired of his usual life who decided one day to go out and explore the world, a world filled with adventures and hypnotic perils.
This is a RPG maker game with lots of hypnosis themed bad endings and enemies to fight. There are hypnotic blobs and several wolf drones to fight against (or to submit to) along with a quite kinky boss at the end of the beta. If you enjoyed Astraifort Estate, this game might also tickle your fancy :>
I wont spoil it too much, so you all go and give it a shot:

Also, visit their discord server to have a chat with the minds behind this game and to have fun!

Update on Requiem for a Death God
Posted 4 years agoGood day demons and demon hunters!
It’s been a couple of months since I have written to y’all. Hope everyone is doing great :>
I have been getting contacted as of late because people have been wondering what I am up to. And the truth is that I have been busy writing ‘Requiem for a Death God’ like I said I would a couple of months ago.
So far, the novel has 100,000+ words divided into 17 chapters and counting!
This is my first, full novel, and I am really trying my best to get all the little details down. Yet, I don't want it to get way too lengthy. I am aiming to get something around 130k to 150k words as a goal.
Now, you might be wondering, why haven’t I published these 17 chapters if they’re already written. Well, there are two things stopping me. First one is that I need someone to help me copyedit everything I have written (something very important!). And the second one is that I want to make sure that as I write forward towards the latest chapters, everything from earlier chapters also makes sense.
Something that I have learned about writing, especially with Astraifort Estate, is that in a story, both the beginning and the end are the same thing. And for this to happen, they must be strongly connected with each other (This is known as the concept of Master of Two Worlds as taught by Joseph Campbell on the Hero's Journey). That was a huge flaw that I feel that AE suffers on the canon storyline aspect.
So, all this time, I have been typing away about a demon hunter who is struggling between being loyal to his clan or to embrace his love interest all while his problems complicate, escalate and grow.
And all of this has been going while I have been listening to music for dead people to get the creative juices flowing.
However, I expect to start releasing chapters little by little by late October/early November if everything goes to plan. (and by plan, I mean to organize my finances to pay a copyeditor)
But this is not all that I have to say. After updating you all about Requiem, I wanna recommend everyone a great RPG game to play.
The game is already quite popular. But still, if you haven’t heard about it, go and play
grovedev Grove!
This RPG Maker game is really, really good, and it really has a lot of potential. I have been following its development since the very first beta that RegalBuster and his team released and they have been doing more than an excellent job with the game!
If you liked Astraifort Estate, I am confident that you’re going to love Grove. I am in love with what they’re doing and I am really excited to see the progress of the whole thing and I can’t wait to see how much it grows :>
So, go and play Grove! And then, go to their discord to drop some love
That’s it for now! Expect to hear again about Requiem by November~

Requiem for a Death God
Posted 4 years agoGood day demons and demon hunters!
Haven't made any big announcements since I finished Astraifort Estate. That’s because I have been busy planning my next projects, reading, studying books on storytelling, looking for new things to play with, and most important; I have been exploring other people’s projects in the furry fandom. But after spending more than a year on these things, I am ready to update you all about my latest projects.
But first things first:
I hope everybody is doing great and recovering from the mess that 2020 was.
I am forever grateful that during this time, Astraifort Estate keeps reaping favs from everybody along with 'Broken ritual' and my latest writings: 'Paper rebels' and 'Slip and sleep'.
Also, thanks to everyone who has followed me on Twitter and retweets my stuff. Many thanks to the people who also follow me on itch.io and pour some love on Astraifort Estate over there. I'm really grateful for all the love and attention you all have given to the rest of my works on Furaffinity and on SoFurry.
While 2020 and the lock down it brought with it made huge (but temporary) changes in the way I work (and like, for everybody else), I tried to make the best out of it. I used part of this time to play several video games that I couldn't play earlier because AE kept me so busy.
Among the big games I played, I really loved playing Divinity: Original Sin 2. That game got me so hooked that I replayed it several times (I never really replay games) and I am still itching to go back and replay some more. The story is really good and I recommend it to anyone who likes RPG's.
But outside of that, I had a great time enjoying things created by the furry fandom. I enjoyed playing several Visual Novels and platformers made by this great community. And while I had a great time with many of those, there are a couple in specific that I'd love to mention and recommend because of their storytelling aspects, VNs like Adastra and Kingsguard.
About Adastra, all I can say is that it is as good as everybody says.
Howly is an incredible writer with lots of talent as a storyteller. He’s a master of his craft and he does a great job in unfolding the story of Amicus in his quest to become the ruler of the wolf empire. I wish Howly lots and lots of health and I send him my thanks for creating such an amazing VN <3
Also, kudos to HAPS for creating the art for Adastra. I have always loved the way he portraits hypnosnakes and I absolutely adore what he did with Adastra to bring Amicus and the rest of the crew to life.
If you haven't played Adastra, stop reading this and download it from their itch.io page. Also if you can, drop on their Patreon and help the whole echogame crew to create more and more of these amazing VNs.
Now, onto Kingsguard.
Kingsguard, well, it is also a VN, and probably one that not everyone might have heard of, which is a shame >: It is a great visual novel that deserves some love too.
In Kingsguard, you play as a prince who is forced into an auto exile from his kingdom after the king of your nation is murdered by an unknown force. Because of these events, you have to explore the world beyond your lands guarded by either Leandro (lion), Koshiro (fox and my personal favorite one!) or Ramos (rhino). You must remain on the move to stay safe from this mysterious enemy who's actively hunting you down while you and your chosen guardian try to figure out more about this opposing force.
Depending on who you choose to travel with, you will experience a different face of the story. But you need to play all three stories in order to understand what happened that terrible day, why it happened and who is this powerful enemy you are facing. While you travel, you’ll develop a deep connection with your Kingsguard.
If you decide to give it a go, there will be an incredible story waiting for you :>
Go to hiddenwall's itch.io page and give it a go. I loved it lots myself and I am sure you will love it enough to drop a couple of bucks on Hiddenwall's patreon to help him develop this amazing adventure.
Besides, every character you'll meet is a beefcake thanks to thebigslick's mad drawing skills ;>
Also, I would like to recommend Killigan’s treasure and Identity. They seem good so far and I will certainly keep an eye on ‘em myself.
Now, playing all these amazing works of art fueled up my own creative fires. And I too have to keep on pouring some of my love into this great fandom. So, I am (finally) ready to talk about what I'm currently working on:
This next project of mine is an idea that was born right after I finished writing Hotel Emperador. But back then, it wasn't really well-cooked. So, I took the time to create Astraifort Estate while I gave the idea more time to cook slowly.
I wrote bits and pieces here and there during the production of AE and I even discussed the plot with some of the AE beta testers and they really liked it.
The name of this Novel is "Requiem for a Death God" and it is going to be a brand new story in the demon hunting universe that I'm creating.
This is going to be a full length novel and not just a short novel/novella like I have done before. Requiem will be set 20 years after the events of Astraifort Estate and one year before the events from Hotel Emperador. It will also run at the same time as ‘Slip and Sleep’ and ‘Paper Rebels’.
My aim is to make “Requiem for a Death God” a story much more engaging than what Hotel Emperador was, and a lot stronger on the storytelling aspect than what Astraifort Estate is.
This novel is going to be mostly about mystery and drama, (like Hotel Emperador) but I am planning to add a bit of sex in thie mix. (unlike HE)
This doesn’t mean that I have forgotten about the people who love kinky writings.
I am also planning to write a novella with lots and lots of kinky sex. This one is still somewhat undercooked, but I think it will be ready for a formal announcement soon along with a fixed date for the publication of the first chapter for Requiem.
At the moment of this writing, I have already written the first 4 chapters and the last chapter for Requiem. So, I am hoping to give you something to read soonish!
What is Requiem going to be about? Here’s a synopsis to close this announcement.
Love and pizza for y'all! :>
Varabol, the green dragon, is a demon hunter with a promising career inside 'The Crew of the Ghost Soldiers.' Things are so good for him that he’s about to be promoted as the second in charge of the whole crew, the one thing that he has always dreamt of since he was recruited at a very young age.
But one night, he gets his aspirations crushed when Visandro, the son of the leader of the clan, accuses him of high betrayal for something that he didn't do.
This earns Varabol an immediate expulsion from his clan and the hatred of Zantazar: the leader of the clan, his adoptive father, and the man who he has admired and respected the most in his entire life.
Unfairly exiled from his clan and the only life he has ever known, Varabol has to struggle in an uphill battle against his former clanmates to prove his innocence. All while he’s also forced by circumstances to fight claw and fang against Visandro's demonic plot which is quickly escalating into a devastating fruition.
Will Varabol manage to prove his innocence in time to protect his family? Or will the dragon allow himself to get sidetracked after stumbling upon the one thing that his clan has always strictly forbid him:
A deep, meaningful and loving relationship with another man.

Astraifort Estate walkthrough
Posted 4 years agoGood day demons and demon hunters!
AE has been out for more than a year and the one thing that has been requested every now and then was a walkthrough with all the strategies to defeat the bosses fast and to quickly complete all the minigames and puzzles, so finally it is here
So far it is under construction because it needs formatting, but most of the info is there with the exception for the master wing and beyond it
I will keep on adding data and formatting the data it has to make it easier to read
Also, if there is anyone who wishes to contribute to it and expand on any section, feel free to send me a note here and your information will be added and you will be credited as well
Here is the Walkthrough: (still WIP:) https://docs.google.com/document/d/.....it?usp=sharing
Jun 23 = added a full end list for people wanting to see the full ending list

Happy Thanksgiving 2020!
Posted 5 years agoGood day to you demons and demon hunters
I know this year has been a wild ride for everyone with all the crazy stuff that has been going on these last couple of months. But finally, Thanksgiving is here for all of us to enjoy!
I am sure that, even during these crazy months, we all have experienced in great or lower degree a couple of things that we could be grateful for, no matter how tiny these are.
I am really happy and really grateful about the bunch of new people who have been following me on twitter and also watching me here along with all the great, wonderful people that I have been meeting and chatting with since I released Astraifort Estate.
I also wanna thank everybody who has faved Astraifort Estate and my other works, now AE is past 400 favs thanks to everyone who has been nice enough to drop a fav :>
Also, AE has been getting around at itch.io :> If you liked the game, drop by at https://whitepython.itch.io/astraifort and drop your ratings so more people can discover and enjoy the game!
Also, people has been wondering what I am up to nowadays:
I have been asked way too many times via PM for a walk through for AE and I have decided to produce one during the holiday break. I will announce more details about this later along with a way for people to contribute with the walk through if they wish to do so~
Writing wise, I am preparing to write my next novel. More details will be shared later as well while I also plan to write more short stories every now and then during the development of this novel.
That's all I have to share for the time being. Please stay safe during these pandemic times and have a great holiday season!

AE sequel and 2020: Achieving the true measure of success.
Posted 5 years agoGreat day to you all demons and demon hunters! I hope your 2020 has been great so far :> Certainly I have been getting busier with work now that Astraifort Estate with its epilogue has been out and about for a month or so. I believe the only updates that the game will receive are going to be related to misspelling and grammar related issues that might show up.
Now that the tide of happy 2020 journals has gone down, I think it is time to address some important things:
With the production of Astraifort Estate being 100% complete, I have been asked left and right "what's next?"
First of all, I need to spend a while talking with other writers on what could be improved on my writings. I am aware that there are many more elements that I need to improve upon and many more new skills that I need to acquire in order to become a solid storyteller. That is the only way to ensure that my future projects can become better in the storytelling aspect than what Astraifort Estate is.
I also think that is vitally important for me to review and to study again all the basics on creative writing to see what did I missed and what has stuck with me in the process of narrating the story of the Oneiric demon hunter and the characters he met along his path of self-realization.
Also, I need to spend a while more reading grammar and spelling books! (A lot)
But there is a specific question that I have been asked as well. Would I ever write a sequel to Astraifort Estate? And the answer is “maybe”!
It is something that I think that would be doable if the main submission (the Astraifort Estate final one) reaches at least 1000 favorites.
I think such event would be an undeniable proof that people liked the story and they would like to see more, it would be an obvious call to action for me regardless of the debugging process that such tasks demands. However, if this goal is reached before August 2020 (a bit of more than six months counting from today) I will expand a bit more on the original idea that I have for the sequel so it is not as short as I originally plan.
Of course it will be done when I finish whatever I might be working at the time.
What is it going to be about exactly?
It is going to take off from where the epilogue stopped. I won't spoil it for the people who hasn't unlocked the epilogue/canon ending yet :>
As the favorites on the main submission pile up, I will gradually release more and more details on what I have planned. This is done for the sake of giving time to as many people as possible to unlock the canon ending and the epilogue.
In the meantime, I am already plotting my next novel which you should have more news about in a month or two. And perhaps a published chapter once I feel confident on my reviews on the basics of storytelling.
With the end of 2019 and Astraifort Estate, I can't help it but wonder if this work has had a positive impact on the community.
But no matter how much I try to guess and ask around, It is the people who play it today and return to play it tomorrow and keep on recommending it to their friends after several months later or even years that will determine such thing.
But also, there is another, much more important way to truly measure whether this work was something that was worth the two long years of work :>
Writing this interactive novel was an amazing journey to go through. Even if coding every single aspect of this game was a huge challenge that chipped time off of the writing aspect which is my favorite one, it was a great journey that I loved to go through from the hellhound lord all the way to the epilogue.
When I first began writing this game and released the very first public beta (0.3) it was born from the tiny ideal of "Wouldn't it be cool if I made a game about a demon hunter getting into a demon infested mansion in the middle of nowhere to get something or rescue somebody?"
I never imagined this little poke into Interactive Fiction would become a 400k+ full Interactive Novel with 49 endings that would take two years to accomplish and would attract so many people to show up and comment on it.
I will never get tired to express how grateful I am with every single one of you, demons and demon hunters, who have stuck with me in this process. A lot more to the people who patiently waited almost a full year for the Master Wing update to be released. I kept thinking about you all during all those months.
At the moment of writing this closing words, I remember when I sat down to plan the Master Wing with all its endings, forks, battles, puzzles and options that I had to create and develop in order to close all the threads open during the game development.
This made me realize the massive amount of work and time it would take to complete. All of this on top of all the work and life problems I had to juggle with at the same time.
I panicked.
HARD.
I still don't know how on earth did I pulled this off. The master wing alone took 14 different battle/puzzle systems to code which had to be different from the rest of the ones already in the game along with the dialogues and other programmed stuff that had be done by a non-programmer like me. This creative workload came accompanied with the uncertainty of not knowing if what I writing was a decent ending or something awful that would crash and take down the whole game down with it.
I still remember, after almost 10 months of uncertainty, asking the beta testers if they liked the Canon ending...
And I remember asking them if they were sure 3 or 4 times after they told me that they did.
Right now I know people liked it. But back then, the uncertainty of not knowing if I was doing something wrong was crippling.
And no, don't misunderstand me. I am not trying to elevate myself here, it is quite the contrary. I want to motivate you to dare to step forth and write something for the rest of the community to enjoy. If someone like me can do it, it is doable by anyone who wishes to do so!
While writing has countless challenges, I think it is a journey that you should follow if you feel the call within.
Myself, I have always wanted to write. But it was always had a huge list of reasons to not to glued to it with a "but"
It was when I changed that "but" for an "even if" that I received a beautiful reward from pushing through the difficult situations.
And the reward is the opportunity to meet many awesome, wonderful people that I would have never met otherwise. That has been the most rewarding experience that I have gotten out of this two years of writing AE.
This reward has overshadowed events that wanted me to stop writing and programing AE such as bearing with the pain of losing 3 out of my 4 pets, dealing with two financial crisis and a delicate medical problem that affected someone close to me and kept me away and stressed during the only, full vacation week that I managed to get from my busy work schedule. My only week for relaxation and writing and coding was spent at the waiting room at the local hospital.
Just like the demon hunter who was facing problems in every corner of the estate, I was too struggling to continue sometimes.
I want you to know that behind all the uncertainty, obstacles and fear that might be telling you to not to do it, or to leave it for the future, there is a great reward awaiting for you if you translate vision into being. This will definitely sound cliché or as a "feel good speech" but this is an invitation to action from me to you.
There are great rewards awaiting for you if you translate those stories you have locked up in you into the paper or text file for the world to enjoy.
As I said, the great reward that I got for coding through problems and dark times was all the great, amazing and wonderful people that I met through the journey. All the people who have contacted me to stand up on their own and to selflessly offer their help with Astraifort Estate regardless of their own busy lives is something that has moved me to the very core.
It is not something that I can describe, but this reward of meeting up with nice, like minded individuals like you all are is something that I want you to experience as well.
But also, there is another important element in your decision on standing up to write. The people around you will spend a great, wonderful time because you decided to do what you have to do in order to get your idea from "Prologue/Chapter 1" to "The End/Epilogue". Your friends and this community are also worth of you challenging yourself to give out your best.
You might be thinking, how can I tell if I have the talent to write? That's easy to tell! If you feel the burning desire to write, it means that the talent inside you asking you to come out. If you didn't had the talent, you wouldn't feel moved to action at all.
Simple as that.
Will it be bad? Will it suck? It probably will be bad the firsts times meanwhile you learn, practice and make an habit of using the rules of storytelling effectively.
The very first story I wrote sucked so much that people who read it urged me to drop creative writing and to try drawing or something else.
And no, they were not wrong or trolling. Reality was that my first writings were that bad.
This is the moment to remember that "You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great"
Being honest with you all, I am not a genius writer or a super talented artistic or anything like that. I am still far from becoming the amazing, epic writer that I wish to become someday in order to create amazing stories for this community to enjoy. That's why I need to keep on studying and cultivating my storytelling skills.
The fact is that there are many people out there with stronger programming experience, with a much more solid grasp of grammar and spelling rules and wild, crazy vivid imaginations that could do a much better job than what I did with AE, but sadly they listen to the uncertainty instead of their creative spirits and they never step up to bless us all.
I am perfectly aware that it is not every day that a 400k text game is thrown out. But that doesn’t mean that I have something that others were not born with. The big secret that helped me to finish Astraifort Estate was Stubbornness, not Genius
That's the people that I wish for them to feel encouraged to step forward and to add their creation to this great Fandom that I really love. I wish for you all to not to suffer the fate that a great Spanish songwriter described as: "In the shadows, geniuses passes away, never knowing about the magic granted to them without even asking for it long before their births."
Earl Nightingale, one of the individuals who has influenced my life the most said once in a recording: "We tend to minimize the things we can do, the goals we can accomplish, and for some equally strange reason we think other people can accomplish things that we cannot. That is not true. You have deep reservoirs of talent and ability within you that you can bring to the surface."
And that's what really helped me understand that I too could contribute with something to this great fandom that I have been part of for so many years. And it would be delightful if you, the person reading this, were to also share a piece of your talent with us :> I am asking you to not to pull yourself away from writing if you have the burning desire to do so.
You don't have to write a 500k novel, 100k short novel or even a 50k text.
You don't need to hit us with a LOTR length epic saga or a first CYOA text game of 400,000+ words either.
Even a short story that you wish to write and publish is a great achievement!
I understand there might be people who are not ready yet and that is perfectly fine. Everyone has a different time to grow. But if you feel the desire to do it, if something beckons you to start writing, don't let it drown, bring it to the surface!
This message is for you whether you reading this at the beginning of 2020, during 2022, 2025, 2050 or even beyond. I wish for you to bless the ones around you with your calling.
What I truly mean to tell you is that if by playing Astraifort Estate or by reading any other story that I have written, you take the immovable decision to commit to the keyboard, pencil, drawing tablet or any other tool for creation. Then and only then, what I have written has achieved the true measure of success.
Merry Christmas!
Posted 5 years agoGood day to all demons and demon hunters :>
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a good time with your family and friends. Hope you all get something nice for dinner and spend a good day
Also, the epilogue for Astraifort Estate is out and ready to be played! check the version at the footer reads 1.0.4.
That's it for now. I am planning to write something more extensive once the holiday seasons are over, but for now, eat, drink and be merry!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Posted 6 years agoGood day to you all demons and demon hunters :> I’m here to wish you all a great holiday season that is pretty much here and it is about to launch us into the 20’s era!
But today is thanksgiving and during this particular Thanksgiving Day, I have many things to be grateful for.
One of them is the overwhelming, positive response I got from Astraifort Estate.
I really want to use this occasion to thank you all for this.
It is thanks to you that Astraifort Estate reached 100+ favorites in Furaffinity in 72 hours, and it also hit #1 in the popular rank on SoFurry at the front page the day it came out and stood there for the following day :>
Of course, this only happened because you all decided to make it happen with your +favs, votes and all the feedback you left. It has also been a very fulfilling experience for me to read the comments everyone has been leaving related to this game.
As of now, I’m writing the epilogue and correcting some grammar and spelling issues that emerged recently. But we’re getting close to wrap everything up and get ready for new projects for 2020.
I’m already cooking up the next novel in my mind too; I’ll be sharing more details in a couple of days when the epilogue is complete.
Once again, thank you everyone for this amazing response and have a great time during these holidays. And enjoy a hearty meal whoever celebrates Thanksgiving today :>

Astraifort Estate 100% Complete
Posted 6 years agoYou just read that right demons and demon hunters!
All the main game content for Astraifort Estate is ready to hit public release this week!
I promised via twitter for the game to be released on the 22st, but it might come a bit earlier if the beta testers find no more bugs or grammar issues.
It has been 10 months since I made the last public release, but here's hoping that it is a fitting closing for this two year long journey since I released the "test version" with the hell hound lord and his pack of wild dogs.
For the time being, keep an eye on twitter/Furaffinity for the full version and tell all of your friends about it too! :>
See you all in a couple of days.

Astraifort Estate 80% Complete!
Posted 6 years agoI am excited to announce that the progress at the Master Wing area on Astraifort Estate has reached 80%.
Next announcement should bring a release date for this game if things goes as planned. A few mechanics needs to be codded and debugged still and more and more text needs to be edited. I hope this last, 20% remaining goes out faster than the heavy previous 80% I had to work with!
I shall stay in touch with more news and remember I also have a twitter where I also (try to) announce a bit more often about the progress of the game whitepython
See you soon demons and demon hunters!

Astraifort Estate: June/July news
Posted 6 years agoGood day demons and demon hunters!
I have been receiving a lot of notes and questions about Astraifort Estate. People are wondering if the game continues to be under development and my answer is the same as always.
Of course, yes!
Game development has reached 70% as of today.
I am glad that people are asking about it. It is a good indication that the game is moving in the right direction and people wishes to see more. You can be sure that you will have this final release out and about as soon as possible.
Things aren't moving as fast as I’d like because I have also several stuff to take care of outside of my writing endeavors. Life has been keeping me distracted with several things that need to be taken care of during my spare time. But still, even during my busiest days, I try to at least edit a couple paragraph to make progress every single day no matter what.
I also really want this game to have an ending properly laid out. I don't want to present a short, dull and rushed out ending. That would be a huge wreak for a work that has taken almost two years to complete, and I am sure that readers would also hate such thing. So let's all be patient and rest assured that the final version will be out as soon as possible :>
Like I always say; I am the most excited, committed and interested person who wants to see this game to reach final version. I'll try to keep my Twitter (@whitepython) updated a bit more often with the status of the game, so it should be the best place to learn about the progress of the game.
Have a great day everyone and thank you for your interest in the game :>

Astraifort Estate Release Candidate 2 status: 50% Complete!
Posted 6 years agoHappy weekend everyone!
I'd like to formally announce that RC2 has reached 50% completion.
What does this mean?
It means that the master wing section is halfway done. I wanted to make this announcement so much earlier, but codding and debugging are so time consuming >: I wanted to make a full release by early April but I will have to move it back to early May.
On the bright side, I have decided to release RC2 as soon as the Master Wing area is complete. The Epilogue and the Walk through will come later when RC3 is released for the sake of giving people the complete story ASAP.
But for now, I'm excited that we're in the second half before RC2 hits public release!
Thanks to everyone who has been hitting that +Fav button on AE and the rest of my works. Also, thanks a lot to all the new people following me on twitter! I keep saying that I should be more active there, but gotta debug the buggy codebugs.
I’ll keep on reporting my progress on twitter! See you soon demons and demon hunters!

Poll requested features and next release!
Posted 6 years agoHello everybody!
Sorry that I have been so silent since last the update, but I have good news to share with everyone!
A frequent suggestion I got was that the Armor and the Pharaoh scenes were too fast and too complicated, so you couldn't understand very well what was happening.
I rewrote the mayor parts of those two scenes to make it easier to read. Also, I retouched a bit the Hound Lord scene to make text flow easier.
Another popular request was the Save system. I am glad to announce that it is fully implemented. Now your progress is automatically saved when you finish with a boss. You can also manually save between passages.
You can go back and replay the scenario you completed if you wish instead of advancing further. This was heavily requested during the poll.
I have done some text formatting update. Now the space between paragraphs should consistent through the whole game! (With the possible exception of the battle against paradise and his second form.)
This means no more text floating all over the place like it happened at the Pharaoh scene and the Courtyard scenes.
I also have two little surprises for you guys. You'll learn more about them upon release day.
This first release candidate should be out sometime next week. While there's no story on the Master Wing yet, all the ground work is done. Most of the text regarding the events at the master wing is written down already so I hope to deliver the ending ASAP.
Also, I should be talking more about the game and the poll outcome on Twitter. I need to get in the habit of talking there, but work and game development keeps me distracted. Nonetheless, I'll try to update my twitter whitepython

Happy 2019!
Posted 6 years agoHappy New Year to everyone!
2019 is pretty much a couple of hours away from us or it has arrived already in some parts of the world.
A big thank you to all the people who fav'd my work during 2018.
I want to use this special time to say "thank you" to everyone who participated in the AE poll.
People helping out with this has given me a great vision of what Have I done right, what could be improved, what do I need to learn for future projects and to understand what is working and what is not.
Reading your comments on what is wanted and what is disliked has been an epic lesson for me to grow as story teller :> I am grateful to the 57 users who left their opinion on it!
It means a lot to me. I am very pleased hearing about things that could be improved!
I am currently formatting most of the early scenes in the game so when RC1 comes out, the first four scenes (Hound, Fox, Armor and Pharaoh Jackal) are easier to read.
Also, I am currently working on Pharaoh jackal to make it clear and easier to understand. Already rewrote some of the events around the basement labyrinth to make things easier to understand :>
As soon as I am done tweaking the whole mansion events, I will be working on the codding side of the master wing so we can get this adventure finished ASAP :>
Let's have a great 2019 with many more adventures to write and to enjoy!
2019 is pretty much a couple of hours away from us or it has arrived already in some parts of the world.

Astraifort Estate POLL
Posted 6 years agoHello there!
I have been revisiting and re-reading the early scenes in the game and I have been upgrading things up a little bit
But also, I think it is time to get some feedback from my readers on what is working story-wise and what needs to be improved to make things perhaps a bit more clean for everyone to enjoy this game and for me to improve as writer.
So I will drop a quick poll for anyone interested in helping me out with this task
The poll is anonymous and shouldn't take more than 3 minutes, so feel free to hit me with your best shot and voice your thoughts :>

Thanksgiving and AE 0.11b Update!
Posted 7 years agoHello demons and demons hunters!
I want to wish you all my friends which are both people who are watching me and people following my works in silence a happy holiday season!
Thanksgiving is an opportunity to be grateful for the blessings received through the year.
I am grateful for having the opportunity to work on Astraifort Estate, It is a project that initially I only thought would take 5 scenes and 4 months at the most to complete. But it took life on its own. Now it is a game that has developed into a more than a yearlong project with many routes. Everything has been an exciting adventure even if coding makes it take more time than I'd like!
I am grateful for all the the 260 watchers I have on Furaffinity and the 88 that I currently have on SoFurry.
I am grateful to be of service and to have inspired
Shaesullivan to create that nice RPG he made inspired on Astraifort state called Devil's due. ( http://www.furaffinity.net/view/25465541/ ) Still, one year later, I am as amazed and surprised by the game as I was when he first reached out to me to tell me about it.
I am grateful with all the people who has contacted me one way or the other to report bugs and grammar errors. I have always considered such as the ultimate demonstration that people loves my work enough to tell me how to improve it. Honorific mentions to
meheggs for being the one who has endured the most cleaning the mess I leave behind!
I am also grateful with all the people who has contacted me to share their thoughts on the game and my stories in general too!
I am also grateful with the staff running this site and offering me a place to express me and publish my works where lots and lots of people can enjoy :>
Now, I am sure everybody is curious about how is our little Oneiric demon hunter doing on his quest to the Master Wing
The next release is pretty much complete. I'd like to say 100% complete but I am still working on re-reading the endings at this section. These will be the last endings in the game outside the Master Wing. I want them to be as clean as possible. They are going to be 3 endings and all three together are going to be 15,000 words in total length.
But of course, length doesn't mean anything unless there's quality in there
I want to make sure that they are written the best that I can write before presenting them to you :>
Go and enjoy your time with your family and friends, have a chaotic good black Friday and the game should be out for you sometime between Saturday and Sunday.
Before closing this message, I want to inform everyone that I have an old twitter account that I am going to un-dust.
You can ask me about the progress of the project and send me stuff you'd like or just strike a conversation if I am around via twitter at "@whitepython"
That's it for today demons and demon hunters. Have a great holiday season and see you soon with the next release :>

Why does that dream keeps on repeating itself over and over
Posted 7 years agoWhy does that dream keeps on repeating itself over and over again?
That was the first story-related sentence that I wrote on Astraifort Estate. It is from the first public beta version of the CYOA game (version beta0.3). The version with the hellhound lord released year ago.
One year later I am finishing the last details of the last beta release of the game.
Once I finish this beta version (version 0.11) it will be followed by release candidate versions (RC 1)
RC will contain all the finals. Everything should be in place along with the events awaiting at the last wing of the manor.
While this project took more than expected, I am glad that people are enjoying it! Knowing this is really motivating. But what I enjoy the most is when people send me their comments on grammar and spelling issues. I know that means that they like the game enough to contribute with it.
I want to keep this journal short and sweet because I am like 70% done with the last beta and I want to get the other 30% done ASAP!
To celebrate the first year, I’ll re-release the very first beta of the game; the same version that went out a year ago.
Enjoy :D

Astraifort Estate 0.7.b Update!
Posted 7 years agoHello there demons and demon hunters!
Been working on finishing the second part of the beta release. The next battle was HARD to code/debug. That thing along with my daywork kept me too busy to focus on other stuff. However, The whole beta is around 80% complete. I expect to release this beta sometime before april 15th. I still need to check all the errors reported by others and scrub up all the large text blocks in the game. Here's hoping that everything is easy to fix and no unexpected bugs shows up and also work gives me a break!
In the meantime, thank you all who have been +watching me and liking my stuff. I am so grateful for all of it :> I will bring you all this next beta ASAP!

Astraifort Estate 0.7.a incoming!
Posted 7 years agoJust a quick update for all the demons and demon hunters out there.
This weekend I will release the first half of the beta 0.7.
I have been working on it for more than a month. It is fair that I share a part of it with everyone of you who have been supporting me along this little adventure. I want to code and release the second part ASAP but first I need to make sure this part is working and is well written.
As always all kind of comments and feedback are always welcome!

Astraifort Estate 0.7
Posted 7 years agoHello demons and demon hunters!
Reporting in to tell you all that this project is alive and well!
Working on the courtyard is an extensive work because both story paths merges here. This means lots of story development compared to regular manor exploration. Also, I am codding two puzzles and two battle systems so this is really time consuming!
I am getting close to 50% on this release. I'm trying to make it worth of people's time. I'll keep you all updated as things progress. I also have to give thanks to the people who has faved my stuff and watched me on both here and sofurry.
I'll take my time and do it slow since I am busy codding and writing.
In the meantime have fun and stay safe everyone~

Most of all, Thanks a lot for the 100 watches which I reached duirng x-mas time. It was a nice gift from the community :D
Looking forward to spend a 2018 filled with lots of hypnosis and demons with everyone!

Astraifort Estate 0.5.b Incomming!
Posted 7 years agoGood day Demons and Demon Hunters!
I was going to release the next beta this weekend, but work got busy for me. (Which is great since I earn on activity) This means that work cut time for me to debug the combat system which is always the most time consuming part of this little adventure.
Nonethless, I love the challenge and I love writing about the Oneiric demon hunter and his adventures at Astraifort Estate.
Good News is that this version is around 80% complete. You can expect the next release this Friday/Saturday so I can work on the next part.
Once we are done with mysterious mister fox, It is going to be revealed soon what happens once the demon hunter defeats the shadow jackal warrior at the basement. This adventure is still up and running.
Stay tuned!
