it seems that this year is going to be REALLY interesting seeing how its my first time going to a furry con let alone FC, one of the biggest ones out there XD
not only as i'm going as a furry (of course =p) but im also going as a sociologist and a photographer. im going to be witnessing some pretty awsome things so i have alot to look forward to. as for my personal project while at FC im going to write a paper based on the fandom itself and from a neutral point of view with good examples and trying to fight the stereotypical view that the furry fandom has. DAMN YOU CSI AND Law and Order!!!!

but anyway my goal with this paper is to reach out and show what the fandom is really about while trying not to gross out or disturb those who dont understand it at all. but this wolf needs your help...

i need some solid facts, details, examples, ANYTHING that would be good to mention in a paper. i have friends around me who can peer-edit my paper as i go along but i intend to get as much info before i leave the con so that way, on the way back or at home, i can finish the paper

FOR FURRY FANDOM!

they say pictures are worth one thousand words, in most cases this is true. its even better when you have these pictures to share with someone. whether it'd be a stranger or a close person or even yourself you can somehow in someway make any picture into any of one thousand words you choose to pick for it. The view inside the picture is just the foundation on how the story is told. It's up to you to picture the rest of it

its good to have someone there by your side, good to know that they're there for you especially in your time of need. Sometimes its even better to have a companion that doesnt even speak english, or make rudeful body gestures. Hence my companionship with my dog Matsi. It's love that makes the relationship between a boy and his dog true and pure and because of it everday seems beautiful, like how dogs see life everyday in the world. they dont reminesce about the past or have expectations of the future. they live in the now, to the fullest

certain things are taboo for a reason, all because its not approved by a favored majority in society. In numbers voices will be heard, but some voices are kept shut by others by using things such as threats, physical force, and even discrimination. Actions like these will result in rebellion with one another and thus conflict arises. I beleive at one point voices will be heard, but (sadly) not acknowledged. In time there will be a voice for both sides and thus unity and understanding my occur, but there will ALWAYS be one person who thinks otherwise....

Let your voice be heard, fight for whats right and dont be intimidated by one's words, but be weary of one's actions

thoughts could be a gift, or even a horrible curse. its what makes us humans complex compared to other animals, but yet it makes us the worst. Based on how we think these thoughts and how to apply them really makes a diffrence in this world. Whether or not it was for others or for self gain theres always thought in it...

being deep is fine, its just that the lower you go the harder it is to get back up. we can believe that being deep is alright, it can help others, and most importantly it can help ourselves. Somewhere along the line of going to far down, you'll get stuck wishing you havent gone that far. But then someone/something from somewhere brings you back up, brings you back from the deep.

the whole controversy of those of wolf lovers and wolf haters. why does human kind have to get rid of something they dont understand, and even if do "understand" why get rid of them still. its Xenophobia, fear of the beast, and because of it anxiety comes from it and form that it turns into fear then from fear it turns into hate which leads onto violent and unecessry actions. Why did humans, espcecially the early euro-americans, go as far as torturing these poor animals. not only did they kill them but they tortured,slaughtered, and did everything you would imagine "cruel" to ANY animal. They slashed their tendons and sicked there hounds on them 3 vs 1, they covered them in oil and then lit them on fire, they tranquilized them and then dragged their bodies behind a stagecoach until there was nothing left except the leg.
im sorry for being so visual but these things are form the past and recently, after all the hard work wolf-advocates put into, they are coming back to defile mother nature and her laws, thats why we need to stand together and promote Anti-Wolf killings anywhere. Espcecially in Idaho, Wyoming, and Alaska where they are threatened the most. Those of the Defenders of Wildlife know this crisis already and as a member i highly encourage you to spread the news

wow, so this is the all knowing FurAffinity place ive heard soooo much about. i was kinda skeptical about joining this place but i gave it a shot and i actually feel good joining.

ive been a "furry" for about 3-4 years now and ive been growing to accept the fact that its something that i AM than something just ordinary. ive told a couple people and they accepted me bu tthey seem kinda skitihsh about but i still love them.

but i plan to go on with my "furry"-ness and go on being who i want to be anf how i want to be as i go =)
