Whispers
General | Posted 13 years agoWhispers deep inside my head
Beckon gently from my bed,
“Won’t you sleep and let me see,
All you seek to hide from me?”
Shadows skitter ‘cross these walls,
Chattered chitters echo, call
Burrowed deep inside my soul,
Stick your hand inside the hole…
Stress, it turns into the moans
Of the dead outside my door,
Ripping hinges in my head
Asking me to come to bed….
Beckon gently from my bed,
“Won’t you sleep and let me see,
All you seek to hide from me?”
Shadows skitter ‘cross these walls,
Chattered chitters echo, call
Burrowed deep inside my soul,
Stick your hand inside the hole…

Of the dead outside my door,
Ripping hinges in my head
Asking me to come to bed….
Drifting
General | Posted 13 years agoI know nobody really reads these but I that's alright. I just have to sit down and write things out sometimes, ya know? It's not realy edited so I'm sorry if it seems a bit blocky x]
Stare into my hardened hands,
Touch the heart of sifting sand,
Drifting gently to the ground,
Watch me sigh without a sound...
Staring out across the sea,
Crimson crested, flowing free
Watch me wade into the waves,
Stained the same in ev'ry way
Press my face into the deep,
Sucking blood until I sleep,
Weightless, worthless as my name,
Sinking deep into the shame
Floating up upon the waves,
Dimming in the dying day,
Shed a bitter smile for me
Shake it hard into the sea
Drink a drop of briny foam,
Float into the night alone,
Wrapped inside the warmth of stars,
Squishing salve into your scars
Sliding now upon the floor,
Sinking slightly in the silt,
Why, oh why can’t I ignore
Face on which my hope is built
Chiseled, charming as those eyes,
Bathed in look of soft surprise,
Staring down from miles away,
Shapeless in the dying day
Stare into my hardened hands,
Scraping up a heart of silt
Trying hard to understand
Why or what or by who’s will
My heart must melt into the sea,
Up to where he stares at me
Stare into my hardened hands,
Touch the heart of sifting sand,
Drifting gently to the ground,
Watch me sigh without a sound...
Staring out across the sea,
Crimson crested, flowing free
Watch me wade into the waves,

Tune Me Out
General | Posted 13 years agoTune me out, I’m sinking deep,
Soft into a smoky sleep
Earthen air caress my face,
Soothe me with your simple grace
Lift me up inside your scent,
Up until we clutch the sky,
Up until my strength is spent,
Let me swim inside the night
Darkness drudge under my sheets,
Till the friction turns to heat,
Wrapping me in woolen warmth,
Swirling like a sudden storm
Let the thunder pound me down,
Cinders dancing at the sound,
As a fissure widens, woken
By the sky as it is broken
Gentle drips run down my face,
Searching, lurking, now misplaced
From the spiky stone above,
Setting out to see some love
Light begins to seep between
Cracks throughout this dreary dream,
Breaking barren basalt walls,
Blowing bubbles as I fall
Slipping sudden from my sleep,
Thudding on the frizzy floor,
Bludgeoned by the dawning day,
I’m blinded by its rays at play…
Here I am awake, alive,
Staring out into the light,
Wishing night would soon set in,
Dragging me to dream again
Soft into a smoky sleep
Earthen air caress my face,
Soothe me with your simple grace
Lift me up inside your scent,
Up until we clutch the sky,
Up until my strength is spent,
Let me swim inside the night
Darkness drudge under my sheets,
Till the friction turns to heat,
Wrapping me in woolen warmth,

Baited Breath
General | Posted 13 years agoA buddy of mine dared me to go out of my comfort zone and write free verse :P so here we go
Just one glance into those eyes
Launches me into the deep
Of her mist swept heart,
Drowning desperate in this love...
Sheltered in the steam she brings,
Wrapped inside her woolen warmth,
Hiked up high above the ground,
I'm swaying in her summer breeze
Just one kiss of midday sun,
Spreading down into my toes
Sends me soaring through the stars,
Melting back into her world
Something there, it clutches tight
To my strings and strums a hmyn,
Sending shivers down my smile
Sucking out my speechless breath
Undercover in the night,
Slapping sleep away again,
Hoping time will stay this way,
Halted by my baited sighs....
Palm in palm our futures spin,
Woven into finest silk
Patched into a comfy quilt,
Tucked into our deepest dreams
Stay oh won't you stay with me,
Drowsy in this moment now
Till we slowly nod to sleep
Evr'y night forever more
Please oh please just stay with me,
Never death to force us part,
Rather marry us into the clouds
Of our future's true blue sky
Just one glance into those eyes
Launches me into the deep
Of her mist swept heart,
Drowning desperate in this love...
Sheltered in the steam she brings,
Wrapped inside her woolen warmth,
Hiked up high above the ground,

Splashing Through The Air
General | Posted 13 years agoSifted through a grainy drain,
Swishing out a soft refrain,
I float upon a briny breeze,
Out over these sing-song seas
Dying down in deft descent,
Counting loud the hours spent
Up amidst the crooning clouds,
I splash amidst those tender sounds
Drifting down into the deep,
Fried from flight I long for sleep,
Breathing in the fathoms gone,
Dreaming of the dying dawn
Swishing out a soft refrain,
I float upon a briny breeze,
Out over these sing-song seas
Dying down in deft descent,
Counting loud the hours spent
Up amidst the crooning clouds,
I splash amidst those tender sounds
Drifting down into the deep,
Fried from flight I long for sleep,
Breathing in the fathoms gone,
Dreaming of the dying dawn
That's Okay, I Like It Here
General | Posted 14 years agoPainting with my washed out words,
Huddled in their woolen warmth,
Hazy eyes and starry breath
Fadin far and fallin fast,
I sing a little softer When the sun must rise,
Thinkin of a home afar
Who's love proves harsher than these winds...
Cradled in the light of stars
I'll never get to touch,
I sink into my slickened soul,
Black with diamonds left unlit
Snowdrops litter barren stones,
Banks of rainflakes drifting by
Or maybe its just me...
Blinking with my furry eyes,
Glimpsing with my blurry brain,
Drowning in these questions deep
I seek some way to help explain
Why I cannot move my arms,
Why the white will never leave,
Why these walls must stay so soft,
Why the door is always locked
This jacket cannot keep me cold,
Tightened, buckled, left too straight...
I'm left to scream and face my fears, But that's okay, I like it here
Huddled in their woolen warmth,

Have You Ever Felt This Way?
General | Posted 14 years agoCome inside this lonely home,
Batting at the thistles grown
Heavy o’er the mantelpiece
While I toss and turn in sleep
Have you ever thought to try?
Ever thought you’d never die?
Ever thought you’d fly away?
Ever dared to stop and pray….
Have you dared your strength to rise
Past those gently rolling skies
As you stare into the night…
Have you ever held your breath,
Ever felt a love so strong
You’d never love again….
Ever dared to taste and touch
The point of no return?
Have you… have I?
Dare you take the chance…
Ripples of those minor chords
Dance around the questions born
Inside turmoil of my mind…
Gentle, haunting, kind….
Ever hold a love so tight
That it broke away,
Ever stare into the night
Till it turned to day?
Ever counted passing clouds,
Naming every one aloud?
Ever chained a thought too long
Up inside your spirit’s song
Till it dropped into your eyes,
Streaming down to join your sighs?
Ever asked your brooding self
If it’s worth the perfect price?
Ever dared to downward delve
Till you knew you'd never rise?
What if what I feel
Isn’t what I’m wanting now…
What if what I see
Isn’t what I dare believe?
Have you ever held your breath,
Ever felt a love so strong
You’d never love again….
Ever felt the lightning’s kiss,
A tingle on your silky tongue…
Ever felt the sizzle sooth
All the curses you set down?
Have you… have I?
Ever hold a love so tight
That it broke away?
Ever stare into the night
Till it turned to day?
Come inside this dusty home,
Knowing you are not alone,
Set the dozing hearth ablaze,
Asking, “Have you ever felt this way?"
Batting at the thistles grown
Heavy o’er the mantelpiece

Between The Sheets
General | Posted 14 years agoDown amidst the moaning moors
Of a distant moonlit shore,
Creatures creep inside the deep,
Beside, between, among my sheets
Silken specters flit and stare
Down amidst that fetid air,
Crawling under docks of bone,
Creaking, leaking, brittle grown
Rotting mist now starlight kissed
Slowly rolls to form a fist,
Pounding out a durge of doom,
Echoed through this deadened tomb
Staring out at blackened walls,
Through the door to nightmare halls,
I pull the covers tighter still,
Bound in place by force of will
Eyelids close and prove the lense
To that swamp at midnight's end,
Home to all those ill-grown fears
That when waking still appearTell me,
which would you prefer,
Land of living where they stir,
In those shadows of your steps
Or land of dreams where once they slept?
Of a distant moonlit shore,
Creatures creep inside the deep,
Beside, between, among my sheets
Silken specters flit and stare
Down amidst that fetid air,
Crawling under docks of bone,
Creaking, leaking, brittle grown
