General | Posted 7 months agoHey. I need to help with the electricity bill starting this next month.. if I cannot make about $200 soon they may force me to sell my pets despite how attached I am and that they legit are what I am going to be using soon in some educational venues. I do not want to lose my pets, please.
I will do *anything* for $200+
Even stuff I normally would decline.

Job tips anyone?
General | Posted 7 months agoIts so stupidly hard to get a damn job. I have applied to pet stores, retail stores (CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, academy, etc) , exotic zoos looking for specifically hobby based snake keepers, bookstores, coffee/tea shops, etc. I have not had even a call back for 2 months now.
Gonna try redoing my resume and apply to a bunch again, hopefully a different resume helps. I did like 6 interviews in a single month and not a single one called back. It sucks.
Any tips, maybe things to include on a resume? Or hell anyone who would be willing to help make the resume.
I unfortunately due to certain things cannot work any fast food, drinks like tea or coffee is fine but nothing with actual food.

comm update - MESSAGE ME IF YOU HAVEN'T GOTTEN A SKETCH
General | Posted 7 months agoHello!
I am currently in the process of sketching out all of my current queue as best I can. At this time, I would appreciate it if anyone who has NOT gotten a sketch would message me so I can update my Trello appropriately.
That being said, once all are sketched, I'll take a week break and then get to line art, colors, and shading. Everything will be done in batches, so everything that I am currently sketching will be finished at the same time.
That being said, the goal is the end of September for 80% of the current queue to be done.
So, I have opened slots that I'll sketch mid-September for the sake of trying to pay off that debt. Anything helps!

July Update: mental health and commissions.
General | Posted 8 months agoHey everyone. First, thank you to those who’ve been patient and stuck around during this long stretch of silence. I know things have been unclear for a while, and I’m finally in a place where I can give a proper update about everything going on—including the status of my commissions and what to expect moving forward.
To be upfront: I’m still without a job. I’ve been applying constantly, but nothing has landed yet. I’ve also been working on getting my driver’s license, which has been a long time coming. It’s a stressful and overwhelming process, especially when juggling mental health, finances, and everything else, but I’m pushing through it. Being able to drive would open a lot of doors for me, both personally and professionally.
June was rough. I had almost saved enough to pay off what I owed, only to have to refund people—including one under legal threat, which ended up having no real ground. It was frustrating and demoralizing. After that, I took on a few smaller commissions just to give myself something to feel good about. I needed a win, even a small one, to shake off the burnout and remind myself that I still enjoy making art. Between that and some careful budgeting, I’ve managed to stay afloat until about mid next month—but I still need to make more to get stable again.
I’ve also seen that old accusations and rumors are being dragged back up again. I’ve already addressed them in full in the past, but here’s what I’ll say: when I was 13, I said things online that I deeply regret. They were lies made out of desperation, shaped by trauma and influence I didn’t fully understand. I was in a bad place mentally, emotionally neglected at home, and desperately seeking attention in all the wrong ways. None of it was ever acted on, and I’ve spent years reflecting, unlearning, and doing better. I’m not that person anymore, and I’m working hard to prove that through my actions, not just words.
This isn’t me trying to escape accountability—just providing context. I was a mentally unwell kid who made poor choices, and I’ve been dealing with the consequences ever since. What matters now is what I’m doing to move forward, not what people choose to misrepresent from my past.
That said, commission work is officially resuming. I participated in some ArtFight this year to help break my block, and it helped a lot. I’ll be picking up sketches again next week, and things will go out in organized batches. The first wave of WIPs is expected to be sent out around next month. I’m also not working through the queue alone—my partners are helping me get through everything more efficiently so I can finally clear it out and start fresh. My goal is to finish all owed work and eventually take new commissions without the guilt or backlog hanging over me.
If I manage to land a job soon, I’ll be able to offer refunds to anyone who prefers that route. I understand how long some of you have waited, and I don’t blame anyone for being tired or frustrated. All I ask is for continued patience while I work through this. I haven’t forgotten or ghosted anyone, and I fully intend to deliver.
As for my health—I've had a persistent cough and chest pain for a few weeks and may be going to the doctor soon. My PTSD and chronic pain have been up and down, and while my meds have helped some, I still struggle with motivation and stability. That’s why I’m pacing myself this time. I refuse to fall back into the cycle of burnout that wrecked me in the past.
Thank you again to those who are still here and still willing to support me. I know this hasn’t been easy, and I appreciate every bit of understanding you’ve given me. I’ll be following up with status messages and previews as soon as possible. If you have questions or want a refund discussion, feel free to message me—I’ll respond when I can.

Art Fight info
General | Posted 8 months agoI'll be doing Art Fight, but I will only be doing revenges/defenses towards the end of the month and as a warmup before working on larger commissions.
https://artfight.net/~Wiltedboa
This is also because doing this is a huge pick-me-up, and getting art of my OCs helps with stress, which I need currently.
The last month has been so stressful, between refunds, debts, threats, and my brother in the hospital. I really NEED something to bring me some joy. If anyone has issues with this for whom I owe, message me, and I'll prioritize your commissions next month. I just need this for my own mental health.

Please read, a note about refunds.
General | Posted 8 months agoPlease understand that refunds are not guaranteed at this time. I am currently in debt and actively working to pay it off. My top priority right now is financial stability, and I am doing everything I can to manage my workload and commitments.
🔸 Refund Policy Reminder
As stated in my Terms of Service (ToS), I operate under a “no refunds unless absolutely necessary” policy. By commissioning me, you have agreed to these terms. Refunds will only be considered in extreme or unavoidable circumstances, and even then, they are not immediate.
TOS is here:
https://wiltedboa.straw.page/
That said, I want to make a few key points clear:
1. Refunds Take Time
I am not a fast-paced artist, and in order to issue any refunds, I need to take on new commissions to generate the necessary funds. That means refunding requires me to take on additional work—often equal to or more than what I already owe.
2. Currency Conversions Are Not My Responsibility
If you paid in a currency other than USD, I am not responsible for fluctuations in exchange rates over time. You will be refunded the exact amount I received in USD—not the equivalent in your current currency.
For example:
You paid $180 USD, which was €173 at the time (in January).
Due to current exchange rates, €173 now equals $208 USD.
With PayPal fees, that refund would cost me $219 USD—nearly $40 more than I received.
That is not sustainable for me. You will be refunded the original USD amount paid—no more, no less.
I hope this clears things up. If I were in a better financial position, I’d be more flexible, but at this time, I must enforce these boundaries for the sake of my stability.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Comm update
General | Posted 9 months agoHey everyone, this is a general update that’s been a long time coming.
After losing my first job in over three years, I went through a really rough mental spiral and finally had to seek help. Since then, I’ve started seeing a psychiatrist and may also begin working with a psychologist. I’ve been prescribed medication to help manage everything.
I’m currently on Cymbalta (for depression, PTSD, and anxiety) and Trazodone (for insomnia). I started them around the 15th of last month. The Cymbalta sometimes gives me an upset stomach, and the Trazodone knocks me out hard — which has actually been good. I’ve been getting real rest for the first time in a while.
Mentally, I feel clearer. I’m not spiraling or feeling down, and I’ve started feeling more like myself again. However, I’m still struggling creatively — visualizing and producing complex artwork is difficult right now, which has been frustrating.
We’re planning to increase my Cymbalta dosage next week, so side effects may get a bit harsher. It takes time for psychoactive drugs to even out after all.
As for art, I’m currently working on a large commission deal with a client who has helped me immensely. I’m using it as both as a way to slowly get back into my creative rhythm. It’s been a rocky start — I was really sick the first week of the month from the medication adjustments.
On top of that, my brother has been in and out of the hospital. On Monday, he stepped on a catfish skeleton, and a barb got lodged in his foot. After five hours in the hospital, they sent him home with antibiotics and pain meds. By Tuesday, he was crying from the pain and had a fever. Yesterday, they rushed him into surgery — they removed a half-inch barb from deep in his foot. The infection has reached his bones, and now we’re waiting on culture results to begin proper treatment. It’s been incredibly stressful and exhausting juggling everything.
Despite all this, I still plan to get 90% of my commissions started over the next two months. I’m working alongside my partners, who are helping with sketching, coloring, and more to help keep everything moving.
Thank you all so much for your support and patience. I genuinely hope things continue to improve from here.

September Art Slave slot open
General | Posted 9 months agoSeptember Art Slave offer – $600 Flat Rate
For the month of September, I’m offering a single art slave option. This will not affect my other comms, just I am desperate and need to pay back debt. (See other posts) as well as am unemployed.
What’s Included:
☆15 total artworks
☆Averaging 3 pieces per week, with the potential for more depending on health and workload
☆You can request icons, busts, halfbodies, or fullbodies
Want something more detailed? You can combine slots:
– 5 slots = 1 NSFW piece
– 3 slots = 1 full reference sheet
(Less quantity = bigger artwork)
This deal is paid upfront and will begin in September, giving me time to finish current commissions and properly plan out your content.
I do have carpal tunnel, so weekends are reserved for rest. If I’m able to produce more than 15 pieces, I will—this is a base guarantee, not a hard limit.
If I get sick or an emergency happens:
I’ll extend the art period by half a month and add extra pieces to make up for the delay.
☆☆Please note: this package is non-refundable.☆☆
Normally, this amount of art (especially with fullbodies and custom content) would run $1,000+. I’m offering this rate both to make things more accessible and to test if this workload is sustainable for me.
Tips are appreciated but never required.
If you’re interested or have any questions, feel free to reach out!

"Art slave" this month
General | Posted 9 months agoComms will be focusing on a few arts for a client who paid me $800 for a month long art slave deal. Ill still be getting other comms started though of course. Just giving a heads up.
Enjoy the snake pics.. do you guys want more?
General | Posted 9 months agoI have some incredibly rare snakes in my care that I take ALOT of HQ images of. Would you guys like to see them more?
Update for everything.
General | Posted 9 months agoHey everyone,
Unfortunately, I’m still struggling to find a new job. On top of that, I had a severe mental health breakdown in front of my family, which led them to give me an ultimatum: either see a psychiatrist or risk being kicked out. I had my first appointment last Thursday, and as of now, I’ve been diagnosed with Insomnia, PTSD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and Depression related to PTSD.
I’ve started treatment and am currently on Cymbalta and Trazodone to manage these symptoms. These medications can come with intense side effects while adjusting, so I may still be working slowly. These mental health struggles—along with chronic physical pain in my arms—are the main reasons for my delays with commissions.
That said, I received a $800 payment for a month-long artist service. My focus for June will be completing those 20 art pieces fully, with sketches for other clients continuing on the side. This is a personal test of my limits, taken on out of financial desperation to pay down debt.
Please Note:
-Refunds are currently paused
-All active commissions will be sketched through June–July
-I will NOT be participating in Art Fight this year
-All commissions are scheduled to be completed by November
After I finish all current orders, I will be closing commissions indefinitely. However, I still need to raise about $330 and maintain some form of income while searching for stable work. Because of this, I’ll be releasing occasional adopts and quick-turnaround YCHs.
If you’re a current client and have concerns, please don’t hesitate to DM me—we can discuss options.

Limited commissions open
General | Posted 10 months agoUnfortunately, I have to open commissions and hope I can get a little income. Due to losing my job, I have a few ongoing Afterpay payments to cover. There is no rush, as they are paused until the end of next month—but I want to get the money together as soon as possible. I need around $300.
https://ko-fi.com/wiltedboa/commissions
So, commissions are open, with limited slots. I plan to have the current queue 60% done by July, and these will not be started until June or July.

New Art Schedule Update – Effective Monday!
General | Posted 10 months agoTo protect my hand and maintain a consistent art rhythm, I’m starting a new weekly schedule! This plan is designed to help me draw regularly without pushing myself too hard. It will stay in place until I get another job, at which point I’ll adjust accordingly.
Here’s the flow:
Weekly Breakdown:
Monday – Sketch-only day (includes sketch icons and regular commissions)
Tuesday – Regular commissions
Wednesday – Regular commissions
Thursday – Rest day
Friday – Rest day
Saturday – icon sketches only
Sunday – Rest day
Monthly Note:
The last week of each month will be a full break week – no drawing at all to help prevent flare-ups and give my hand a proper recharge.
---
Status Updates
I’ll post daily status updates on Bluesky, here in my bio, Trello, and Discord. You’ll see one of the following:
Working – I'm actively doing art for a few hours.
Rest – Light day off. I might switch to “Working” depending on how I feel.
Break – Full hiatus for hand recovery (usually the final week of the month).
Asleep/migraine day - pretty obvious ngl
---
Thanks for your understanding and support! Watch my bio. Discord status, or Trello for real-time updates.

General | Posted 10 months agoHey everyone, I really hate to have to post this, but I want to be transparent with all of you.
Unfortunately, after just four paychecks, I’ve lost my job. It’s a complicated and frustrating situation. I was let go due to a mix of internal disorganization, lack of communication, and ultimately, someone spreading lies about me. The facility had no cameras, so there was no way to verify anything said about me—which left me powerless to defend myself.
From the beginning, the job was a constant uphill battle. I received inconsistent instructions from multiple people, and expectations shifted weekly. I was told different things about the same tasks depending on who I asked, and there was no official training guide or clarity on protocols. I was expected to “just know” things I had never been shown, and when I followed the guidance I was given, I would later be told I did it wrong.
For example, I was taught that ACAs (Animal Care Assistants) should primarily help the walkers and leads, do Clean behimd of dogs kennels they take on a walk, while doing Dishes, laundry, etc in between.
Then suddenly, that role was redefined entirely with a new task list no one trained us on. Must do the list BEFORE ever helping the Walkers or shift lead with anything else.
I was never shown how to properly use the cleaning chemicals and followed what I was told—only to be corrected later for things I hadn’t known were incorrect.
I was told not to worry about folding laundry, scooping the yard, or diets—then later blamed when those things weren’t done. Every day I felt like I was playing catch-up and trying to fix what the previous shift didn’t complete, all while being judged for it. It was exhausting.
On top of that, I had a lot going on in my personal life—supporting one of my partners trying to escaped an abusive home situation.
I was checking in briefly via Discord, which took less than two minutes, yet I was accused of “being on my phone too much.” Meanwhile, others openly used their phones for non-work reasons with no issue. That resulted in me being called out and a rule for no phones at all at work.. in a place with dangerous bite case dogs.
Despite pushing through severe physical pain after all shifts and doing everything I could to be a reliable worker, it wasn’t enough. My effort wasn’t appreciated. And in the end, I was made the scapegoat for problems that existed long before I arrived.
So with all that said, refunds will not be starting in June like I had hoped. I’ll try to issue a few today when I get paid, but I can’t guarantee it, as I have to take care of critical expenses (Klarna plans and other necessities I’ve relied on during this unstable period).
I am actively looking for a new job, but it took me three years to land the last one, so I know it may not happen quickly. In the meantime, I need to find other ways to support myself.
So for now, I’ll be offering:
24hr Sketched Icons – $10 each
These are quick, low-effort pieces that won’t interfere with current commissions, but they do help me bring in a bit of income.

This situation sucks. I was genuinely hoping to help my partners get out of bad situations and start building something better for us all. I didn’t even get the chance to share the full doc I wrote up about our goals and progress. And now, we can’t even move. I feel stuck and a bit hopeless—but I’m trying not to lose heart.
The silver lining is that losing that job, while unplanned, is probably better for my long-term physical and mental health. That place had drained me so badly that I couldn’t even draw anymore. Now that I’m out, I can feel some of that creativity returning, and I expect to be resuming full commission work sometime next week once I’ve gotten through the worst of the stress.
Thank you so much for your patience, kindness, and continued support. It means the world to me
Unfortunately, after just four paychecks, I’ve lost my job.

Trello update.
General | Posted 11 months agoHey everyone!
Just a quick update—everything should be good to go, but if I missed anyone (especially if you don’t have me added on my new Discord: wiltedboa_), please shoot me a message over there. I don’t check DMs here regularly and it’s hard for me to keep track, so Discord is the best way to reach me.
Here’s the new 2025 queue:
https://trello.com/b/L8eRuY8S/2025-queue
The board is split into a few sections:
2024 Queue: These are remaining pieces from last year. Some larger orders were moved to
2025 for my own pacing, but everything in this section is priority and will be completed before I start on anything in the 2025 sections.
2025 Icons: This section is just for icon orders. If I have the time, I can knock a few of these out quickly, so I’ve separated them from larger projects.
Refund List: This isn’t in any particular order. If you’d like to be added to the refund list, please fill out this form:
http://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F.....71MyQ/viewform
I’ll be working on getting sketches sent out as soon as I can. My plan is to sketch everything first so everyone at least gets an update, and then I’ll focus on finishing the 2024 queue.
If you’re okay with being bumped down the queue and waiting a bit longer, please let me know—it really helps a ton with scheduling.
Thanks again for your patience and support!

Refund form, and final notice of current plan to ALL clients
General | Posted 11 months agoHey,
I want to be upfront with you about where things currently stand.
At the start of 2025, I was forced to take on over $2,000 in new commissions due to urgent personal and financial issues, including caring for a sick animal. This happened while I still had unfinished 2024 commissions, some of which are now well over a year old. I never intended for things to go this way, but I had no choice at the time.
I'm currently working a full-time job while managing health issues and personal responsibilities. Because of that, I have very limited time and energy to draw. That means commissions are moving slowly—but I want to reassure everyone that nothing is being abandoned.
Here’s the current plan:
All commissions—both from 2024 and early 2025—will be completed or refunded by the end of 2025.
There is no guaranteed turnaround time, but I’m aiming to complete most work by September 2025.
Refunds will not begin until June 2025, and will be issued at a rate of 1–3 per month, depending on my financial situation.
If you do not wish to wait, you’re welcome to request a refund through this form:
https://forms.gle/ZrjMuUhZVncEaHJr5
July will be a break month for me to rest my wrist and participate in a few small Art Fight pieces.
If anyone pressures me excessively or opens a PayPal claim, I will issue a refund and blacklist that client. I’m doing everything I can to fulfill all obligations, but I ask for understanding.
Thank you so much to those who have remained patient and kind. Your support means more than you know. If you have questions or concerns, feel free to reach out anytime.

2025 queue trello, updates, etc
General | Posted 11 months agoHey y’all, so this is the new Trello board for 2025. It is still a wip, I'll be adding people onto it through the next few days, if you’re not here feel free to poke me. I’ve added my remaining 2024 queue here too—originally I was gonna keep it separate, but since I’m still prioritizing that old queue, I want 2025 clients to see what’s ahead of them.
https://trello.com/b/L8eRuY8S/2025-queue
Now, I wanna really stress something again:
I never wanted to take on more commissions.
Like. At all. I planned to finish my 2024 list and then be done for good. Not in a dramatic way—just being real. I physically can’t draw that often anymore. I have hand pain that limits me a lot, and now I’m working a full-time job that just wipes me out. Most days I get off work and immediately crash.
But stuff hit the fan. I had to make about 2k in a single month because of some personal drama and a really sick pet. It was not something I wanted to do, but I had to reopen commissions to survive. So here I am. I got the money, sure—but now I owe a mountain of art and no way to finish it fast.
So here’s how it’s gonna go:
Every single piece I owe is either going to be finished this year or refunded this year. There is no turnaround time or hard deadlines, because honestly I don’t have the space in my life to make art my priority right now. But I’m aiming to have things done by September. That’s the goal. Not a promise.
There’s no TAT because of how physically wrecked I am most of the time. My job is a lot—it involves lifting heavy stuff and dealing with dangerous dogs, and I literally messed up the nerve in one of my fingers during my first week and had to wear a splint. I can’t draw as often as I used to, not safely. And when I’m not working, I have my own animals to care for, feeding days that take literal full days, and kid-watching or reptile business stuff. Art is something I still care about, but it’s not something I can do regularly anymore. That’s just the truth.
If you’re in my queue: I’ll get to your art when I can. If I can’t, or if you don’t want to wait, I’ll refund you. That’s the deal. I will be starting refunds in June—1 to 3 per month depending on how I’m doing.
And let me say this gently but firmly: If someone is constantly bugging me for WIPs, being passive-aggressive, or stressing me out, I’m going to put them on the refund list. I’m not gonna argue, I’m just going to issue the refund when I get to it. I cannot work under pressure like that—it makes it harder and slower.
I’m also taking a break in July. First half I’ll be doing Art Fight, probably just 5 small artistic freedom pieces to shake the burnout, and the second half I’ll be resting my wrist completely. July is my scheduled “don’t totally burn out” month, and I need it.
If you’re wondering what my time looks like, here’s an example of my week:
Friday (4th): 9am–4pm
Saturday (5th): off - going out of town
Sunday (6th): 1:30pm–8pm
Monday (7th): 7am–2:30pm
Tuesday (8th): 2pm–8pm
Wednesday (9th): off - recovery day
Thursday (10th): 1:30pm–7pm
Friday (11th): 2pm–8pm
Saturday (12th): off - feeding and cleaning snakes
That “off” time? Usually goes to reptile care, feeding days (which eat up an entire day), cleaning, watching kids, or my reptile biz. I barely have actual downtime, and when I do, I usually need to rest or I’m dealing with migraines, dissociation, brain fog, or just straight up being non-functional.
And on top of all that—look, I need to be real for a second. Over the last few years, I’ve had a number of clients act straight-up entitled. I’ve had people file chargebacks on PayPal without even speaking to me, or act like it doesn’t matter what’s going on in my life—like I should be delivering finished work in a few days, no matter what. I’ve had people try to weaponize their popularity to pressure me, guilt me, or threaten me into finishing art or refunding them instantly. That’s not okay. That’s messed up.
I am only human.
Right now, I’m still actively paying off several old payday loans from nearly two years ago, multiple zip payments, and yes—some commissions I still need to refund from 2024. That financial stuff is a huge weight, and it’s my priority to get that sorted. Once I’ve made progress there, I’ll be returning to the 2024-2025 refund promises I made. I haven’t forgotten. I’m not running. I’m just under a mountain of pressure and doing my best to juggle everything without completely burning out.
With all of that being said, if someone puts too much stress on me, it can genuinely push me into a rut where I physically and mentally cannot draw. It’s something I’ve dealt with before due to how I grew up and the burnout and pressure I’ve experienced over the years. Again—I’m not making excuses, I’m just giving a fair warning. If someone is constantly badgering me, I will refund them and blacklist them from any future commissions, should I ever reopen again. If someone files a PayPal claim, they’ll be blacklisted immediately. I will respond to those claims with this exact update, plus a copy of my updated Terms of Service, which clearly states that turnaround times are not guaranteed and that it may take up to a full year for some commissions to be completed. Clients are informed of this, and if someone contacts me directly, I’ll be making sure they’ve seen this full statement and the new terms before we go any further.
All I’m asking for is patience and some basic understanding. I know it’s frustrating to wait—I get it. But I’m not making excuses, and I’m definitely not scamming anyone. I will either get your art done or I will refund you. That is a promise. What I cannot promise is how fast either of those will happen, because I literally don’t have the power to speed anything up right now.
If you’re in my queue and you’re patient and kind, thank you. I see it and I appreciate it. If you’re not okay waiting, just request a refund and I’ll get to it as soon as I can. That’s totally fair.
That’s all. Thanks for sticking with me if you are, and I’ll keep updating when I have something worth showing. Otherwise, just know I’m working on it, or I’ll refund you when I can. Simple as that.
