Reasons why I never attended cons.
Posted 15 years agoHere are reasons why I don't attend cons.
Reason #1: I'm broke. Hey, I DO and WILL work, though.
Reason #2: No transportation and nobody else to take me there.
Reason #3: People who are on their high horse and look down their noses about minor-league artists.
Reason #4: Finding the people who you hate/loathe/despise from MUCKs/SL/Furcadia/IRC chat rooms/forums are attending there, period.
Reason #5: I'm NOT a touchy-feely person... which brings me to this...
After reading the painfully written FA journal of
farrellemoon ...
and YES, this was painful to her, I can imagine, I have found that reason
to be the BEST REASON of all.
Her FA Journal link: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1171533/
Wheelchairs are a tool. Like any other tool they can be dangerous if not handled properly.
THE BASIC RULES OF HELPING A PERSON IN A WHEELCHAIR (please consider copy and pasting this section if you'd like to spread the word about this issue):
Rule #1 - Ask permission to push someone in a wheelchair before even touching the handles.
Rule #2 - Do not forget rule #1. EVER.
Rule #3 - If the person accepts the help note that it is not a sudden 'free' pass to push them whenever YOU feel like it. ASK every time and consider even noting when it is you start to push by confirming their fingers are out of the way by saying something like "Alright, ready to move forward now?"
Rule #4 - If the person in the wheelchair indicates they wish to end the help or the task they needed aid with has ended, STOP THE CHAIR and THEN let go. It's just as dangerous for them to try to grab the wheel to take control in the middle of movement.
Good thing I did read about that.
Now have to rectify Reasons #1 and #2... so I can meet furs on a more
personal level.
And to Farrellemoon... Hand injuries are scary for any artist, even us minor
league guys. Let's hope your fingers get well soon. *HUGS*
EDIT: In any case, maybe I should not write cons off under that statement.
A blanket statement makes the most trouble, and is biased unfairly.

Plumbing.
Posted 16 years agoHooo-wee!
It is hard as hell trying to fix broken pipes after a hard freeze.
It is harder to try to get broken pipes fixed when the hardware store
runs short of the needed pieces to fix them. Harder still, when every-
one else was doing the same thing.
Also, trying to cap off one leak, but finding a new one afterwards!
Moe Howard, in the episode "A-Plumbing We will Go" said it best:
"This ain't a house, it's a sieve!"
:shouting:
True words never said.
And the thing that made matters really, REALLY, REALLY effed-up...
Despite working outside, the fumes from the PVC cement really had me schnozzled!
Damn! I'm gonna do what Will Rogers said once:
"I'm gonna look back on this, and LAUGH."
Because it was definitely a hoot.

Two movies I had FINALLY seen...
Posted 16 years agoI saw the movie Watchmen...
DAMN.
Bloody as in blood EVERYWHERE.
Also, inexplicable urge to yell at Doctor Manhattan:
"GEEZE!! FOR CRIPE'S SAKE, COVER UP, WOULD YA?!?!"
The other movie was lauded by you and everyone on FA...
Kung-Fu Panda.
No wonder you guys and gals ate this movie up!
Ass-kicking funny... and Tai Lung really should not have said:
"What are you going to do, sit on me?"
...which Po DID, as they both fell down the stairs!
ROFLMAO!!!
That was a T-R-I-P trip!
That one... is worth seeing again!

I swear...
I think his art should be in READ-ONLY mode, but...
Good folks like him will be missed.

Photographs by Marnol (Not Spam)
Posted 16 years agoI have a friend that is selling photographs.
Marnol Tiger has opened a site for stock pics
he has taken from his own town.
You can buy the prints by themselves, or, for a little more,
framed for hanging on the wall to brighten up that corner of
your room.
His site is at Spectrum Photographies-

Do Vampire Rabbits Have Birthdays?
Posted 16 years agoI had gotten a book from Goodwill 8 months ago that was an all-time
favorite: Bunnicula: A Rabbit-Tale of Mystery by Deborah and James Howe.
I had gotten it, and it started to collect dust on my shelf... very little dust.
And as I looked at the printing date for the book, I noticed it was
released in 1979, as this site confirms it.
I am still surprised that though James Howe took the POV of Harold
the canine narrator of the story, deliberating the rantings of his feline
pal Chester were true if Bunnicula the rabbit, who was found in all places,
a theater playing Dracula that night, was really a vampire.
Such a book was an addictive read, back then, and still is now.
Thank you, Mr. James Howe. A book like this will never be put down... ever.

Well... here's why...
Been busy IRL due to:
·Getting a suit for my brother's impending wedding...
·Helping my mom who has COPD...
·Looking into trying to get an apartment...
And...
·My connection keeps shutting down and pissing me off.
Anyway... I hope I can get this all ironed out, once and for all.
See you soon, fiends.

put up my hands and just said...
"NO MORE."
Then, without further ado, I deleted my account there.
I leave it without any regards. Just a raised middle finger.

"If Flash is the wave of the future for the web...
...Why are your prices STILL so goddamned HIGH?!
Get off your trillion-dollar yachts, lower your prices

Anyone who bought CS4 (and not on a student loan
or anything like that) can basically gripe like this.
But, hey, I know there are alternatives and cheap ones.
No need to tell me.
(I use Gnu Image Manipulator Program).

You can never go wrong with the appropriate sound effect to fit the scene.
My friend,
telbert, applies it well.
Best examples?
All Aboard! and Tail on the Rails.
I think some sound effects are appropriate for scenes that implied
for comedy...
Like here... Fourth panel of "Kids do the darnedest things" by
peterabnny+ Old car horn = Major Laughs!
Another funny scene:
Read
kecomaster "Team Rubbiky- Red Eyes" + play http://newmail.monsterserve.com/kee.....idedown[1].wav (Classic Slide Whistle Down)=Classic Comedy Gold.
Every time I look at comics (and also the ones I draw, too!), I think about
the perfect effect that works in the scene for that moment, up to the point
of Google-searching and looking through FindSounds.com for that
ONE perfect
sound effect, even if it meant combining or even making my own
sound effects.
I mean it. It also beats making sound effects with your mouth.
Because sooner, or later... you'll have to use a better medium other than
your mouth to make sound effects... unless it's burping!

Extra site here...
Posted 16 years agoI had recently remembered I had a site here that
had gathered a lot of dust, so... I had to just reclaim
all of it. Did I have a choice? No. Because it was my
site, and I had to pick up the slack there.
Anyway... it's http://www.furaffinity.net/user/wallaroo
That's where some of my art (G and PG-rated) will
go to. Plus character references and fan art on that
level, and the ones who gave me trouble in the past
are locked out from that site, too.

Being weird...
Posted 16 years agoI LOL-ed at Mocha Mephooki's post here...
"You people are all weirdos!"
And I agree with her! I'll take being weird over being boring and uninteresting anyday!
I like being weird.
Personally, some of the more vocal mundanes HATE that, especially one's own family.
SHEESH!
I rather prefer that they overlook any weirdness and accept it because... Seal might have
a point with that song of his...
"... Oh, we're never gonna survive
Unless we get a little crazy..."
Besides... you can't keep a stuffed-shirt image while having fun... being a stuffed-shirt
just kills fun dead. Being weird every now and then is better with a friend... or a dozen.
So, excuse me while I get surreal, okay?

Early Spring Cleaning & Another WTF?!
Posted 17 years agoOkay... Let's start with the WTF?! first...
Last night my scanner decided to give out.
I'm searching for a new one as I type.
You'll know I'll have one when pics start appearing here.
Now... about Early Spring Cleaning...
My morgue (the place that I keep preliminary art, unfinished art,
completed art, and erotic art) has gotten... a tad overloaded.
(Yes, I need to get a file cabinet and not storage bins.)
So, I put to burning some of the uncompleted and wasted paper that
took up space, as well as a few pics done for furs who were too pompous
and full of themselves to even accept art from anyone who was a
beginning artist, and some of my Otter Comic artwork (which I should
have done in the first place after... you know already.)
Anyway, I have to catch up on a few comics before I get a new scanner
in place. The pics I kept... are safe in the bin. No worries.
