A couple ( wolfgem and  elden) and the WolfGem's 4 dogs were struck in a hit-and-run in CA on Monday. The dogs were killed instantly, Elden lost part of a leg and is undergoing multiple surgeries to repair the other damage to his body, and WolfGem had a bar inserted in her broken leg.

I feel so badly for this family. Losing a pet is one of the worst pains in life...and they've lost four, besides being seriously injured themselves. My thoughts are with them.

I am incredibly sad and heartbroken to say that I lost my 3 year old Chihuahua, Jackson, to an animal attack this weekend. His lungs were punctured by the bite and I was unable to reach the ER in time.

I will miss him so much. I feel that I failed to protect him, though others assure me I shouldn't feel that way. It's just so hard. He was my companion, and I expected many more years to come with him - we'd only been together for two.

I am at least somewhat lucky to have taken many photos and a few videos over that time, so that along with my memories I have physical reminders. I'll keep his toys and things...maybe one day, he'll lead me to another companion.

I believe that he, his grandfather, and my cat all remain and watch over me. Others have told me this is so. I just wish I could see them...my babies.

I love you very much, Jackson. One day we will truly be reunited, and I will play and be so joyful with the three of you.

This is a drive to raise money for a documentary about the lives of two gay individuals, one whose family was accepting...and the other, whose family wasn't. It is in memory of the latter man, who unfortunately died in a tragic accident a little over a year ago.

Please share with everyone that supports marriage equality, and if possible, donate. At this time they need about $40,000 more by July 19 at 7 pm EDT, or all pledges will be refunded and they will be unable to make the documentary.

I'm tired of seeing "who?" as an answer to that question. Grrrr.

I've gone through and updated titles in my gallery so that it is clear when the art isn't mine. The artists were always credited in the description, but this is just to make cure credit goes where credit is due. :D Applause to all those great artists!

Personality

Health

Overall Rats enjoy good health. They’re very active which helps keep them in shape and able to fight off sickness. They can at times be tense, aggressive, and full of nervous energy, conditions which can lead to stress. Regular exercise designed to calm will benefit Rats. The latter half of this statement is more normal for me...and exercise does help. Unfortunately I need to do it more. I'm not active AT ALL. <.<

Career

Extremely perceptive and wise, Rats can focus on the big picture. That ability along with their good judgment enables Rats to solve problems before they arise. Rats focus on titles because titles translate into status and money; two motivating forces. Rats make excellent bosses. Routine halts their creativity so Rats need flexible positions that allow creativity. Good career choices include: administrator, director, manager, entrepreneur, broadcaster, writer, musician, stand-up comedian, politician, lawyer, researcher, and race car driver. Sure? I definitely try to work for more money...I'm currently quite poor and can't wait to move up to something else. Otherwise, I always wanted to try racing a car...vroom!

Relationships

Rats are very charming. They enjoy social activities and because they’re out a lot, they’re always meeting new people. They aren’t good at breaking off relationships however, and this presents problems going forward with new relationships. Anyone hoping to partner with a Rat must be able to keep up with the Rat’s active nature. I'd hope I'm charming, but the socializing I enjoy involves being at home or the homes of those I love. I despise the social scene (drunktards, drugtards, etc. please stop bothering me and everyone else) and I don't do well meeting new people because I'm shy. I do better here on FA and dA, for example...takes some stress off. I AM REALLY bad at breaking off relationships of any kind, though I have managed to do it before. I'm afraid of being left with nothing. Better the chaos you know, right?

Not nearly as self-confident as they appear on the surface, Wood Rats will never expose this vulnerability to others. They’re successful despite their perpetual fear of failing. Compatibility

Rats are compatible with a Dragon and Monkey and incompatible with a Horse and Rabbit. Mitigated by other situations and such, but a decent base idea. Anything is possible though.

NOTE: The Chinese Zodiac also encompasses your birth month and birth hour - the 12 signs are assigned to these as well. This website mentions it, but doesn't seem to have a way to find out what they are. Also: the Chinese Year DOES NOT sync up with ours. It's about a month or so off, so if you were born late Jan - February of a year, check closely, because you may be the previous sign.

Next: Western Zodiac {The 'old' system...this 'new' crap is actually the sidereal (based on the stars) system, which has been known for centuries. The true Western Zodiac is tropical (based on the seasons). I'll do my sidereal sign as well (generally about 1 sign prior to the accepted Western sign) in another post.}

Still working on healing after the extractions. I have dry sockets so it hurts...a lot. I'm only getting by with the pain meds...I have to take them every day. :( Oh well...I think the sockets are closing, anyway. Hopefully things will be better soon.
