New Time Lapse: The Slayer
General | Posted 4 years agoLast night we created a new monster using Affinity Photo. This time we turned ourselves into something call a Slayer. These are monsters from the underappreciated video game The Suffering released on the Playstation 2 back in the early 2000s.
This game is phenonemol and I cannot express how creative the monster designs were. They all looked like they belonged in the Hellraiser universe and I fell in love with them immediately. As such, I wanted to turn myself into one of the earliest enemies in the game - The Slayer.
From the game:
"I first witnessed these creatures jumping out of the ground itself. Their heads are detached from their torso, held aloft by hideous contraptions. Their limbs have been replaced by blades of the sharpest steel. To my eyes, they appear to be a manifestation of decapitation, yet it seems improbable that anyone ever had their head cut off in Abbot. I suppose on Carnate anything is possible. I have dubbed these monstrosities Slayers." - The Suffering (ps2)
We made a time lapse video of the process! I hope you all enjoy it.

Creating My Realistic Characters
General | Posted 4 years agoWhile I have no received any requests for these videos, I still wanted to provide them!
I started working on photo manipulation about a year ago when I was challenged to make a Professor Layton x Hellraiser crossover. My first attempt using vector art was, admittedly, a failure. Not to be detoured, I decided the best course of action was to pose for a photo and then photoshop it into the crossover. I put on my Mad Hatter costume from Halloween and went to work. After about 4 hours and several tutorials, I created my Professor Layton x Hellraiser mix! I am insanely proud with out it turned out!
I did a few side pieces here and there - the Toilet monster, a mannequin corpse, and another Hellraiser scene. Minus the Toilet Monster, my work felt lacking. I still had lots to do when it came to shading, perspective, and lighting.
After working with some vector art for a few months, I returned to Photo Manipulation.
The first project was - as always - something to do with Splatterhouse (The Splatterhouse Mask being one of my favorite images to practice new projects with). So using some new techniques I picked up, I created the Splatterhouse Image that you can find in my Gallery [https://www.furaffinity.net/view/42837636].
The end result is easily my best work to date. I cannot tell you how happy I was that it turned out as well as it did. I meant to stop at just putting the mask on my face but it evolved into the image that you see today.
Next, my focus was on Disney's Owl House. I love King and wanted to see if I could make a realistic version of him. I had recently discovered that my art program (Affinity Photo) had some perspective and warping tools. So I hunkered down, found some photos online and created King! [https://www.furaffinity.net/view/42837535/]
After King, we did Braxas, Gravity Fall's Summerween Trickster, Owl House's Hooty, then Zanthar and Teeth! I plan on working on Bill's other friends to push my limits of what I can do with photo manipulation. I am thinking Pacifier or Keyhole as my next projects. We'll see.
Any who, I just wanted to share with everyone the history behind these images as well as the Time Lapse videos of these projects. If you are interested, please check out the links. It is always appreciated!
