Update
General | Posted a year agoBetween my health issues, my boyfriend leaving me, a move, and my mom being hospitalized for most of June, I actually haven’t been able to clean this place up or post anything new.
Did you know FurAffinity is blocked on my local hospital Wi-Fi network?
Anyways I finally cleared my notifications, time to work on the rest. Reminder that my commissions open. I’ll make an updated commissions rule journal soon.

Oh deer…
General | Posted a year agoI seem to have accidentally gone on a year long hiatus on a few accounts. Please mind the dust and construction noises as I get this place up to snuff. Gotta touch up on my html while fighting my iPad to use this site. With all the increased ai on other apps and art sites, I find myself crawling into the deeper caverns like tumblr and fa where I feel safer.
If you followed me and forgot who I was, my handle in most places is visagartstudios, my fursona is a terrier named Trixie, and I’m a recently single pan sexy woman.
Happy pride! I’ll be posting soon…

Good News
General | Posted 3 years agoFirst off, sorry for the lack of formatting, I'm typing this on mobile at work, qnd I get fat fingered. Specifically, it's the last shift at the convenience store job. I start my new job tomorrow morning, bright and early.
It'll be days, Monday thru Friday, which is exactly what I want (other than being an artist full time). A rigid structure for myself where my work is set in stone as far as scheduling and pay, that gives me ample time for non work activities. I'm excited to start this venture. It'll take some adjusting, coming off second shift with random days off, but I can draw, read, game, take care of my family.
Once I find my balance, I'd really like to get a regular posting and streaming schedule, so stay tuned qnd follow me on twitch/insta/and deviantart.
Also I joined Art Fight this year, and a barter/trade discord server I'm in posted some adopts, and I've arranged a trade with the current owner, so soon you'll see my first attempts at NSFW fur art, qnd meet my new characters.
What are your favorite piercing locations (yourself or others)? What's your fashion aesthetic?

Howdy Ho Neighbors!
General | Posted 3 years agoI am what some have called a "baby fur" in that I'm fairly new to the community. I'm nearly 30 now, but when I was in high school, it was trendy to have various personas. Every person I knew had a regular persona, a gender-bent persona, and a fursona. Not one to be left out, I also had all of these things. I haven't used these characters actively since I graduated, so they're all overdue for a redesign; especially my fursona. I'm a very different person than I was. It has taken a lot of soul-searching, and trying on several animalistic personalities, but I may have found a general idea of who I am.
Now comes the tricky part, character design and name. (I'll get back to you when I have those nailed down.)
I'm an artist by nature, and it's only been hobby work for me most of my life. Then, like most everyone else (or so it seems), I was struck by inspiration in spring 2020. Bitten by the creativity bug. Started taking anti-depressants for the first time in my life. Semantics... Call it what you will, but I suddenly saw the world in a beautiful and colorful way and I just had to share it with the world! I tried my hand at painting for a little while, and while I enjoyed the mess (uncharacteristically, might I add), all the supplies took up a lot of space that my husband and our recently expanded fur family couldn't afford in a tiny apartment. I was searching for a way to make art my career. It was my calling, it had to be! I'd be drawing practically nonstop since the world put a crayon in my hand. Time and practice do not skill make without LEARNING. Sure, I could draw realism well enough it was recognizable, but how much better was I in 2020/2021 versus 2010/2011?
The answer: not alot. Because I refused to learn. I didn't like my art teachers in school, I couldn't afford art school post-secondary, and I never wanted to be told how to draw. That mindset was resulting in me going nowhere with my passion. I am also lazy and stubborn by nature, so I was a fast and easy result without a lot of brain energy being used. I also had a latent passion for photography, so I tried my hand at that. I shot several free practice shoots of models and friends, probably too many, and it was fun. I was so desperate for a paid gig, I almost got into some hairy situations. My husband is a wonderful voice of reason, and supported me while also telling me I was being crazy. I decided to listen to him, and set the camera down before I got hurt. I still wasn't learning anyhow, I just wanted to be instantly good.
In an effort of continued support, my husband got me a touch screen tablet. It was not big, or fancy, or even name brand. But with a stylus in hand, I finally got to put some real effort into digital art. All my art friends, every artist I admired in the modern age, did digital art. I never had the money for what was considered high tech in my younger years. It was enjoyable, though difficult. The smooth glass and oriented screen were very different than my sketchbook.
The worst thing happened around then as well. I was blind sided by possibly the worst art block of my life. I regressed in skill so fast, and the inspiration well was dusty. I was aghast. I had no clue how to overcome this. It took a miracle. Della Reese visited me in a dream, a true vision of beauty. The next day I sketched and sketched on paper until I had a rough image laid out. I scanned it and began clean up. It was such an excitable series of afternoons, my stylus swiping away at the screen. Finally, my masterpiece was done. I downloaded a low res version for Facebook, and then the drawing program crashed. I couldn't help it, I laughed. The best piece I had ever done in my life, as well as several WIPs that were probably gonna be even better were gone.
After an extended mental break, I pulled myself together and used my next paycheck to buy an iPad gen 8. I sat down that night to download Procreate and it was like rainbows and unicorns. Holy. Sheep. I started a drawing the next morning, and didn't stop until I'd finished it 8 hours later. A fully lined, colored, and shaded piece in 1 day?! This was heaven, this was what digital art was meant to be! I never finished traditional drawings. Not in 8 hours, not in 8 months.
By the end of a week, I had made 3 completed pictures. It was a drawing frenzy. The iPad was my second spouse. That, I believe, is when the concept of learning finally started to dawn on me. I realized I had no style. Not like a guy on the street in ugly clothes, but an art style that reflected me. And just like that, I became one of the best students in YouTube University. I worked and studied and practiced and did drawing challenges and bought merchandise until a style finally began to take shape. Since then, I've continued to learn at any opportunity and try new things whenever I can. It was a long road to get here, and I don't know how much further it goes, but I have my hiking boots on and I'm chasing that pot of gold!
