Be That Furry
General | Posted 4 months agoBe the furry you want others to be, even when it's not possible. Tonight has been a crazy night. I found some stuff out about the history of a few different furry communities. It's definitely got me thinking about what being a furry means to me, and what it used to mean to others. Nobody is the same, and as such, nobody will experience being a furry in the same way. It's so deeply tied into our humanity, or what one is willing to accept of it, that you can't just explain it away. I've stopped trying.
An Affinity of Fur
General | Posted 5 months agoHi fellow FurAffinity users. What does it truly mean to have an affinity for fur? To what extent might that go? I suppose it's different for everyone, and that's okay.
I've always wondered why things are the way they are when it comes to furries, but that's really not looking at it right, ya know. It's a nuanced interest held by multifaceted individuals, and the appreciation of furry things in furry spaces by furries is an entirely personalised experience to each and every person that finds furry stuff intriguing. There really isn't a way to sum up all of it into a single word. 'Furry' is different for everyone - and there's just so many different ways that people participate or enjoy things that fall under the 'furry' term. I know that now, and I have for a long time, but I still don't know the optimal way to put it into words. Probably won't ever, and that's okay.
