Whooo, had a great time at Anime North this year. I'm starting to feel this is how cons should be short and sweet, but thats another journal.

Arrived early, and the ReG line was super long, so I went to meet up with  CrazyViper100 and deliver her commission and change into my own costume. this year I decided to blend in somewhat and created a cosplay of Dust from Dust: An Elysian Tail. (I will post pictures soon!) It went over really well and quite a few people recognized me, and since I was the only one, people could easily call out "Dust!" to get my attention for pictures. Even came across one of the people who helped make the game and he gave me some great praise for the costume, I think I may have made his day, lol! Got lots of compliments on the costume, so I'm super happy. I'll be bringing it to the next FE since it fits the video game theme ;)

Checked out the dealers room and bought some Deadpool stuff. Anime North seems to be one of those cons where you pay money for the privilege of spending more money once you're inside :p Most of the Con space was the Dealers room and Artist alley. didn't try to attend any panels, nothing really caught my eye in the schedule.

Met up with a bunch of local furries for some photos and general shenanigans. Ended up hanging out with  wolferypwn  talonbat ArcticSkyWolf  sammypanther  atreynu for the rest of the day. Ended off going to the rave, doing a bit dancing.

It was a good jam packed day, and now I need sleep!

So Costume Con was pretty neat. Very different vibe then a furry con. People there are much more into the crafting side of costumes which was pretty cool. Lots of panels showing how to do lots of stuff. I checked out one on basic armour making and and one on drafting patterns which gave me some ideas. The fur panels and Mascot panels apparently were thrown together at the last minute so they were not so great. The two girls doing the mascot construction knew kind of what they were doing.

Anyway though, lots of very cool fan costumes. I snapped a few pics I'll see about putting up somewhere. I was actually running around in Rumze half the time and in panels the other half so I didn't get a lot of pictures. Rumze went over pretty well with the crowd, got lots of compliments from people which was really nice. Lots of pictures taken. I was one of I think four furries from the local community that showed up, myself Ronnie in Tien Long, Sparky Dragon and Doomwolf that I saw.

Overall I would go again, maybe even try to for multiple days so I can learn more construction stuff and see the masquerade (I left since I didn't want to stay until the 10 or 11 pm that it was obviously going to run)

Soooo anyone going to Costume Con 32 tomorrow? Same place as FE...

I'm planning to bring Rumze and there's a couple panels I'd like to attend there. Not sure what to expect really, they have a couple mascot/fursuit panels so I'm wondering who's running those?

So that was a pretty darn good con. Got to see pretty much everyone I know in the community and meet a few more. Delivered several projects and I believe everyone is happy with the results of my work so far. I will try and get some pics up of that stuff soon.

Everything went great and its worth watching all the acts; but ours was in the final part if you feel like skipping to it ;).

I'm not going to try and list everyone here that I want to thank, I think you all know who you are. I'm looking forward to next year already and it looks like the theme next year is going to be popular so I'm excited to see what people come up with for that.

Back from Templcon, which was tons of fun! Drive down was quite the experience though. My wipers froze up at one point and I couldn't see 10 feet in front of the car. I do not recommend driving in a blizzard, its just not fun. Got there safely though and had a great time. Trip back was nice and pleasant.

Went for a few hours to Tricon in Kitchener today. We had four suiters invade this little con and I'd say we were fairly well received. We gave some hugs and took lots of pics. I'm always a bit nervous suiting at a non-furry con, but glad when it goes well. If you're in Kw its a decent anime/fan/costuming/gaming con in its infancy and the venue was quite nice.

I finished up another fursuit! Happy about that too!

I see a lot of people jumping off FA or at least opening accounts on Weasyl. I'm glad of that but it looks like Weasyl is having trouble with the increased load. If they can iron this out I'm betting they'll see a bunch more traffic. I'm not jumping ship, but I may spend more time over there. I'll post my page link when I can. I've never suffered from severe depression myself. Sure I've had bad days and been really down in the dumps sometimes, but that never that physically and emotionally debilitating Depression with a capitol D. So I'm wondering if anyone in the GTA would be willing to be my kind of occasional fursuit photographer?

Basically I need someone either come to my place in Oakville or I come to them once in a while after a project is done and do photos of my work. Someone with a pretty good camera and some grasp of lighting and photo set up so I can get good photos for my portfolio of fursuit work. This is especially important for my own stuff as I can't really take photos of myself :p

Can't really pay anything for the service right now, except maybe bribing people with a free lunch. This would be very occasional work, probably once a month at most on a weekend, but I would like to do a session soon to get good pics of my new suit Rumze. Also if the person is interested maybe you could model some stuff for me while I take pics, especially if we are different sizes. ;)

Anyway, thought I'd ask.

Whew, what a weekend! I had a pretty darn good time at condition this year. My biggest fear when heading to a con is boredom, and being so small I was afraid I'd be bored at condition, but I managed to keep myself busy the whole time, well into the late nights every night even. I gotta thank all the people who tolerated my presence during the con for that:  KirinHybrid  AndrewIsGreen  QuyetPawz  Evesske  Airless  dizzywizzy  actionzone1001  pelt_silversmith  Simbayo and many others! Seriously it's great to be meeting so many people whom I can call friends in this group.

Rumze was a big hit at the con, I tried to suit around as much as possible since I missed out on suiting a lot at FE somehow. Lots of people gave me compliments on him. I'm really happy about that since I worked my tail off getting him ready for Condition. I still need to make proper padding for him which I think will take care of some of the bagginess problems I'm seeing in con photos so far, but I'm still really happy with him.

In other news I made up a twitter account for my furry shenanigans, you can follow me ValrusTiger. I'm not sure what I'll be posting there, but I may use it for WIP photos of fursuit projects and updates. We shall see, I'm new to the whole idea of using twitter, so we shall see.

I had a few people ask me about commission work, and yes I'm open for commissions right now. I have exactly zero things in queue, I cleaned it out before condition. So if you want fursuit stuff, now is a good time since you'll be first in line.

Last but not least #roomcon was a blast and a great way to end the con. #roomcon 2014...there will be cake.

P.S. I would love any pics of me romping around in Rumze. I don't get to see the suit from the outside when its being worn, so I love seeing pics, if you see any or have any let me know!

Just an update to show I'm still alive and well. I've been working my tail off getting stuff done for Condition:wasteland coming up really really soon!

Just finished one commission and diving into the next tonight which I hope to have done in the next couple days. after that its full speed ahead trying to get Rumze ready for the con, I really hope I can make it! His bodysuit is done which was a ton of work, and probably over half the work involved, so I think I can make it.
