I forgot in my haste to include that I’ll only be taking three, but I like a challenge and will try and finish all below.

I hope it was a good one for everyone and that there wasn't too many hangovers suffered! 2017 was an... interesting year for a lot of us, so here's hoping that 2018 is the big one. (In the best way possible.)

Things I'm hoping to pull off this year; Get 1000+ watchers, get a pet that I can terrorize my roommates with, learn to color better, finally animate *something*, and go to AC 2018 and be social somehow, probably with promises of drinks and how I can build a radio out of random crap in the hotel. Those seem like doable goals, right?

Speaking of drawing, in regards to this week's sketch dump- I will not be holding one due to mandatory overtime coming up at work, so this coming Friday, the 5th, will be when I start taking suggestions. Same as before- basic colors and all that fun stuff! I'd say that I won't go overboard like the last batch and go all out but I can't help it, they're just too much fun.

One last thing; My job has me sitting in one spot being bored af for hours on end. If someone could suggest to me a good audio book series that's engaging and not too hard on the ears? Currently I have; The Martian, All the Harry Potter, Abhorsen series, HHGTTG, Leviathan series, and some classics. As you can tell my tastes vary from sci fi to fantasy, so go nuts. I'll listen to anything once, and thank you in advance!

Things are back on track so I'll be trying to do these weekly dumps again. There's some new rules though, but nothing too nutters-

Same rules as before;

My toons are free to use with the exception of Amos, who's a special case.
Updated on Saturday, only a ref and general idea of what you'd like to see, All will be pushed to end of the month, blah blah, don't meth around, yadda yadda.

However, now I must ask that you have at least some sort of reference of your character. Vague doodles and "I'm not even sure..." doesn't help either of us. Also, I'll be doing some flat colors this time around, so the images will still be simple posts but with more life to them. Only three slots and all that good stuff, feel free to PM me or add me on Discord for anything, even silly buggers.

After this batch I'm going to take a break so I can catch up on stuff at home and at the office what with the holidays and new years coming up. I had a lot of fun doing these and I *totally* plan on doing more- so if you've been wanting a shot and haven't been able to land a slot don't worry, I'll be back to make more freebies and with a better idea of what direction the free sketches will take. I'll still do a few fun things for friends, though.

Mostly it's been practicing perspectives and anatomy, and thanks to you guys I had a lot of fun learning new angles and how to better draw beaks/muzzles/whatever correctly, especially on sharks, which I could use more practice on. Next batch will probably involve themes, so ideas are welcome.

Anyways, I'll post another journal about it when I'm ready to start again, which might be before this month is out... maybe.

I've been getting several notes on these and how they work. It's simple-

Just PM me a request or hit me up on Discord and ask for one, however, the pose and subject is determined by me. All I want to know is the general idea of it- NSFW/SFW/Action, etc. It will not go any further than the clean sketch phase. These only take about an hour to make. Make sure to include a ref or next best thing.

My characters are free to use, but if your request includes someone else's toon, please get permission first :V

I will only do three a week and only one request per person unless I have a slot still open by Friday.

Sketches will eventually be pushed into Scraps by the end of every month.

I will always post on the following Saturday if I can help it.
If I'm full I'll update this journal to reflect that.
You get what you get with these and I'll do what I can to make sure it's accurate to refs. However, I can and will black list people who make a massive issue out of free art :V Don't be that guy.

Mid November wrapup because I'll be too busy by the end of the month to post one of these normally.

Firstly-

Still closed. I plan to be this way for a while as things kind of roll around on my end since my job keeps me moving around a bit even though it's been rather lonely. Thankfully I've made a few friends between here and PA to keep me entertained on a corporate dollar. Owed things will be posted as they are completed as usual.

That being said I still plan on doing some YCH things later when all owed is posted to keep myself busy, and I know my 'boss' will be okay with that since she's usually breathing down my neck to get art done anyways. Owl's are jerks. Just saying. I will be doing sketches and the like of simple stuff since that doesn't take me forever to make, so I'll be open for a few doodle ideas to post weekly. I miss being productive artistically since I spend most of my time staring at electrical schematics for ten hours a day.

I am now accepting only three sketch requests to work on as warmups when I hit the grind this weekend.

Lastly, I've been appointed as a Moderator for SoFurry and it's been really fun so far, but I've discovered that mods are typically far more lewd than they let on. It's good stuff.



Oh yeah, Anthrocon 2018;

There is a very high chance that I will be attending this along with a few locals and some friends because I can. I will *not* be doing anything art related though; It's purely for the fun of it while I try out this 'being social' things everyone keeps telling me about and stop being a workaholic for a weekend! I'd be happy to meet people and make new friends, 'cus I'm a friendly person, I swear.

And for that one person- you know who you are. Hi. I miss you.

Still alive (Mostly) but busy with work and trying to finish my degree since it will make the higher-ups happy. I still keep up with people over Discord and telegram, though I'm mostly available on Discord anymore ovo Feel free to contact me there.

Now for some general Q&A

Commissions are still CLOSED and will remain closed for a while still. I've been 'bought out' by Impa, so expect a lot of art of her to slowly trickle in :V I can still do light projects on the side when I can and if you're a friend, but for the most part I'm closed. (She wants to do a lot of YCH stuff if you're interested.)

I've been getting some... interesting PMs about why I'm not so active here and so fourth. So I'll boil it down to simple stuff;

This page is for artwork. My personal life will be kept off of it as much as possible, and I check my page about once every week or so.

My political beliefs are no-ones business and will not be reflected here, either. I'm here for the fun. If I want salt I'll go back to Facebook. I'm no fascist window licker though, just to make that clear.

Things I post here involving my characters or anyone else's is non-cannon or whatever the term is. It's all just for fun, and it disappoints me that some people are incapable of separating life from fantasy. If I want to draw my character giving four Leopard tanks in tu-tus individual mushroom stamps, then by the gods watch me go! Doesn't mean I have one tied up in my basement, however. >v>

Art is no longer a race for me. Now that I have a job that allows me to live beyond ramen and stressful trips to the post, I can now actually relax and learn about what I'm doing rather than spam crappy drawings non stop to get people's attention. I want to improve and be the very best so you get quality fun drawings, not middle of the night Red Bull fueled binges.

I love drawing for others more than myself. This I think is true for many artists- and I find it wonderful. I'm more likely to draw stuff for you freely because I feel like it than accept payment, but that's because I'm a filthy commie penguin.


That's about it on general stuff. I'll keep in touch as I can to update and let you guys know about future plans, and a comic I want to work on with you guys involved. I've thought about a patreon but... I have no idea how those work. I'll cross that bridge when it gets there, though.

I know I've been incredibly slow on updates and posts, the reason is simple- I finally landed a job that pays well enough that I won't be living the ramen life, and it utilizes my degree. It's really strange going from one place that generally treats you like a kid and full of needless drama to a professional atmosphere... I even have a cubicle. Give it a week and everyone will know how incredibly strange and dead-pan humored I am.

Anyways- This will effect my output severely. There's a lot of traveling and the occasional trip to another location... this can be anywhere from Florida to Canada, even Germany as their needs allow, so there's going to be substantially less time for me to work on commissions. This does not, however, mean I'm closing up shop entirely.

-All currently owed will be finished before all the actual traveling starts.
-There will be a few refunded. Nothing personal; just can't handle it right now. xvx
-I might reopen for little bursts of 2 commissions, probably in YCH format for everyone's convenience.
-Once all the training and heavy travel is finished, I can start on major full works again. (These will be rare, however.)

Maybe it's the fact that I have an HD tablet now, but with the time spent on CSP I'll have to bow to the fact that it does pretty well with colors and textures. Moreso than OC6 which feels more like an amped version of SAI. To each their own, of course. I miss SAI's ability to have a color mixing window, but I also adore OC6's line tools and perspective manipulation.

All that aside, CSP is a very stable with lots of potential as a flexible art program for beginners and comic artists, the animation portion is pretty weak, but if you're just wanting to do simple icons or short GIFs then the program delivers spectacularly. It DOES have a perspective ruler system built into it, but it's rudimentary in design, and it takes a lot of patience to get the vanishing points to work for you. Other than that, I highly recommend this for anyone wanting to push their skill sets out of SAI.

In the meantime I'll just have to export all files as a .psd and use OC6 for the hard edges. Not a bad thing, mind.

I'll keep playing with other programs and give my input as needed, especially now I'll be testing out Toonz- the free animation software known for it's use in Studio Ghibli and Futurama (Which needs to come back. Right meow.)

When I first made this account middle of last year I didn't expect to do as well as I did. Not gunna complain tho, it makes me happy that you guys really enjoy the stuff I make and keep up with me, especially when I post something, go poot around work for a shift, and come home to 100+ faves and a bunch of watches. Really warms me udders.

Especially all the birbs :V You guys make my beak wet.

Apparently my goal to make birbs sexy is working... A noble goal I promise I'll not stop working on. Eventually I hope my stuff here is just as liked on So Furry, where I'm clocking almost 70k page-views and lots of friends. I do like friends, and no, I won't keep you in the basement. (Unless you want to. I got a nice rack I've been wanting to test out, but moving on-)

Commissions:

Back to doing trades if anyone is interested, got more free time to work on stuff and stay out of trouble.

Tried using Clip Studio Paint for a bit to see what all the talk was about, and it's not a bad program at all. It covers all the basics from illustration to basic photo manipulation, it even has a very handy toolset for perspectives, though it strangely falls short when it comes to manipulating images on these planes. That being, I can't import an image and skew it to match a wall at a 1/3rd or 1/4th angle. I'm sure someone will figure out how to do it, and if they do I WANNA KNOW.

I didn't touch it as far as animation, however, because of the sheer limitations. Simple gif? Sure! Anything above that or requiring interaction and you're better off going to Flash or TV paint. Too bad TVP costs as much as my truck.

Anyways, I hope everyone is well and that this year has been good to them -so far- ovo I'll just keep drawing horrible things and not fall apart destroying myself with thin mints and tang.

Firstly, thank you for all the recent watchers I have gotten over the past month or so- I've been meaning to get my submissions on to e621 but for some reason the system keeps 'forgetting' me. Eventually I just gave up and asked a friend to post them for me. I'll eventually have to do that again :V and will pay for that time in drawings. Cus I'm shameless like that.

Finally,  wannabe-riley has been teaching me a lot about animating and will soon be (F*cking finally) posting and making simple animations. We're also going to open up a collaboration account just for our works together, so keep an eye out. I'll be sure to let everyone know when it happens and what to look for!

Good news is that I've found some time to work on stuff when not dreaming about routing internet systems in Hawaii, and I thank those who have been patient with me over commissions and putting up with my weird social hours/habits. (You know who you are.)

Further good news is that the official deadline for this project will be over the beginning of December, which means I'll be able to finally complete my list for you guys. Seriously, thank you for your patience.

Bad news is that once this project is over, I'll have about a month of non-chaotic office time before another crunch starts, so I'll probably be closing commissions publicly for a while. I'll still take the odd one here and there for fun, but for the most part my status will say closed.

This is where streaming will be a thing. As many of you who know me personally or seen me stream can confirm- I can pump out high quality work in short order around my other artist friends. So I'll be doing more streaming on stuff over December to get back into the flow. I'll be asking for suggestions to draw out and will be happy to do them.

So, as you guys can tell, I've been getting work done where I can. Actual work likes to surprise me with a lot of sudden design remakes and overtime "Quality Control" marathons which usually involves sitting around the office until 6pm staring blankly out the window while geese battle it out over the parking lot.

However, this only means that the overall project deadline is coming soon, and will be ending, in November. Which means far more free time and the ability to be more social and do more art stuff.

I've also decided to stop being such a recluse and try to actually interact with you guys more. I promise I'm not a total idiot and will do my best not to lapse into silence that others often mistake for brooding. :V Resting bitch face doesn't reveal the fact that I'm probably thinking about smothering myself in puppies. I dunno.

COMMISSIONS AND YOU.

This is rather important for people interested in, or currently holding a work order from me. That being I'm going to be a little bit more careful with commissions from here on out, especially since I'm still bewildered that anyone wants to buy work from me as it is. More so that they're the full colored work, and hose understandably take a while.

I'll be breaking commission slots into a section of two-three. Two full colored works and three lower-tier, that way things can be a bit more efficient. This will not come into effect until after this current list is cleaned out, and after a brief hiatus to work on a comic side project with a couple of friends. Some of you know what I'm talking about.

HOWEVER

I'll still be taking -basic- requests and little things to keep it interesting, and maybe a commission here and there to break the monotony of drawing machines. I'LL ALSO BE TOTALLY OPEN FOR TRADES BECAUSE THEY'RE IMMENSELY FUN. AS ARE COLLABS. -hint hint-

I am slow at commission work, I know. I work full time as an industrial designer, so I appreciate the patience. Especially when I get emails at work saying overtime is mandatory, and that my team has over 150 designs to finish. In a week. And there's only five of us. These designs can vary from little things like coax cables to entire working commercial nodes.

Anyways

I am getting things done, I promise. And for those of you who stuck with me the whole time and still talk to me after, even better. XD Especially since I haven't felt at my best lately. I wanna do better. There's still much to learn and even more to progress at.
