General | Posted 15 years agoI will never buy a computer from you again. I am not someone who is unreasonable. I however am someone we can hold a grudge. I often try to look beyond the flaws in a person and be friendly and reasonable to anyone. I do not like frustrating people, I can tease and be silly at times, However I never intent to hurt anyone. However this stunt you pulled on me goes too far.
My reasoning;
Your powersupplies are known to be cheap.
Your service has shown itself to be slow and stressful. 2.5 weeks for a stresstest?
You supplied me with a desktop that doesn't boot.
You supplied me with a desktop whose start button get's stuck behind the front plate and whose function is debatable.
You according to the repair report only checked the power supply ( with winstresstest ) while the diagnose of the computer was: Broken ( doesn't do anything )
I assume: You failed to check if it actually could boot an OS
I assume: You never checked other components to see if other components still work normally.
I assume: You broke the damn startbutton.
Medion, I will abuse the **** out of your warranty till my desktop works.

I finally have a new computer,after being stuck without a decent computer for very long.

Really, the whole scary little girl thing has been done. I mean, I haven't even seen movies with scary little boys in them as main evils. Actually, often it is a woman who is the big evil scary. Are women that scary? Maybe everyone whilst growing up was a little scared of their mother. Of course I am not counting the SAW movies, which is mostly a gorevest anyway.
hrm.
Or perhaps it's mostly because outside of the horror genre men are to most predominant evil. being portrayed as BIG BAD PEOPLE. Oh yes that must be the reason otherwise it would silly.

Well, phones seem to be gaining in popularity too as evil people devices. I remember the ring using TV's. Technology is scary too, who would have thought? Well, anyway... the movies all share the same scaretactics that have been proven by the passing of time. Such as emotional music and sudden loud noises to startle you. Really, I never have been into horror movies much because of that reason. Horror movies are actually seemingly less innovative than the ''action movie'' franchise. Sure the movies don't always have the same ''reason'' for why shit started, but the rest is just... yeah. I wonder if there ever will be a horror movie that is placed in fantasy that I will bare seeing. I've seen sci-fi's that were quite entertaining ( but still carried out much akin to city/house/mansion/hospital/hotel based ones. )

There are innovations in horrormovies, but the genre doesn't seem as saturated as the ''action movie'' one. Thereby lot of them seem to not innovate a lot because it is not necessary for good sales. But to say that action movies don't have the same problem is a lie. However generally speaking it seems that action movies just seem to have a little more variety... Uncharted 2 ( awesome game )
and Modern Warfare 2
Uncharted 2:
The single player is EPIC, seriously such a load of fun, I wish it had lasted longer. The puzzles where decent, not very hard and not very innovative. Uncharted lacks innovation and uses a very standard formula.
The story is told much like a movie, at least that is what the game says, I thought it was just told _well_ not ''like a movie'' seriously. The story itself is nothing new either, everyone could tell you that, however it is told _well_ and the characters are _appealing_ Mister Drake himself being the weakest character from the set, like most main characters. Drake himself seems to become more 'moral' through the game, just like in the last one ( but his rehab seemed to have failed in this game ) In the end he ends up a decent bloke _AGAIN_.
The enemies in the beginning are normal human beings they hide, take cover and try to kill you. Although they are rather dumb and not as ''sponge'''as you they are believable. However the later enemies..... well let's name ....
....a few things that bugged me:
The shotgun special forces especially in the beginning are frigging sponges, close combating against them is also frigging stupid ( they sometimes just kick you and shotgun you ) after that we get the minigunners, who are even more sponge and finally the inhabitants, which are the greatest sponges of all. ( except against the crossbow, what the heck does that thing fire? )
Grenade launching troopers; Instant kill with a lucky spammed grenade kills you, that is seriously annoying. ( and really, they do spam ) They really help lengthening the game time artificially together with their sponge mates.
Some parts of the game force you to be stealthed while giving you no hint that you have no other choice, If you do not stealth you die. ( or the other way around )
One of the puzzles got bugged so I had to reload the damn checkpoint. ( it's the one with the 6 cilinders )
Unclear pathing is another thing, sometimes you just have no idea where to go and because of that end up dead ( because you try to find an edge to hang on and such )
Snipers; They are slow with aiming the damn rifle but can get lucky shots.
When I can't take cover where I want, this happens sometimes, but less often than I had in other games.
The dairy, seriously the pages should be able to be turned faster than that! I want a last page button in the next Uncharted and hints that go beyond 'this looks like it might do something.' when not puzzling.
The endboss is also very nasty, I beat him in one go but it wasn't simple ( but it wasn't getting bullshited like in kilzone )
Uncharteds multiplayer is nothing special, I bought it for the singleplayer and I am glad I did, perhaps I'll check the single player out some more later.
Upsides:
- Good Story telling
- Decent Covering system
- Decent Aiming system.
- Variance and challenging.
- AI ( AI hides and takes cover )
Downsides:
- Tank class units / Bullet Sponges. ( They are so lame, seriously. You can make harder opponents without making them semi-immune to assault rifles. )
examples: (Shotgun) Special Forces Dude, Inhabitants, Minigun carriers.
- Grenade Launcher infantry / Rocketlauncher Infantry ( A lucky one kills you before you have seen him )
- Times when you are forced to play a certain way.
- Unclear pathing.
( seriously, I died plenty of times when I had no idea where to go / what to do )
- AI ( when moving forward to your position they ZERG rush )
-Drops ( They have infinite nade launcher / RL bullets and you always get 6 / 1)
8.5/10 singleplayer
MW2
Modern warfare 2, well the singleplayer is filled with action. It's got elements like racing ( snow mobile ) and climbing ( which is awfully boring ) The game looks stunning, albeit I think uncharted 2 has more atmosphere. The controls are straightforward for a ps3 title, layout makes sense somewhat and it's easy to get started with. The controls are smooth and it's not hard to aim at a tiny spot. <stop> this is where it becomes bad, first I like to note the damn auto-aim-zoom, it's hideous and sometimes just aims at walls people are standing behind, I really could have cared less if it was in the game.
The enemies are just as strong as you, they do not sponge bullets are are able to take you down as well as you are able to take them down. When in idle mode however they are retards. Sometimes the game punishes you for not playing it like it is supposed to in a really believable way, I love that.
After a few *cough 2* campaigns it's clear that the auto-aim is very abusable, the level designs are often made so that you can hardly see your enemies, an extreme example is the snow level, it's another level that I didn't need to have.
Your enemies tend to hit you a lot, ( I think that they are probably spammed the auto-aim-zoom button more than me ) in hard mode this isn't really much of a problem, since you are pretty much a bullet sponge. ( but grenades D: ) Enemies are always in the same place, but when playing the game first you will probably die because some are standing around corners and such, that's artificial game lengthening, really.
Your enemies also hardly hide unless they are standing near an object that they can duck under, the enemies generally seem to have the intelligence of a 5 year old with automatic aim.
I didn't care for what actually happened to the characters in the game at all, they were rather empty shells of human beings. You die a lot yourself, I could have cared less about those scenes, really. I hardly knew who I was by the end of the plot.
When ''Spookey'' died I thought; Oh no, that cool looking dude died.
On terms of realism Modern Warfare 2 is very decent for a arcade shooter. Enemies seem to act realistic most of the time, albeit they don't really have realistic weapons, and don't drop grenades.

It's good, That's all you need to know. I know COD 4 has gotten empty online, but the difference between this and that isn't too great, it's COD 4 + polish.
Don't change a winning formula unless you are certain you are improving it.
The only real downsides are the thermal scope and life-signs detector being easy camp weapons.
When the casual *cough* folks diminish the game will be a lot more fun I think.
8.5/10 or higher.

I'm a dork, I bought warcraft III and it's expansion some time ago. ( albeit the ticket I got for the expansion stated ''world of warcraft III: Frozen throne '' I got a laugh outa that ) I usually play only when my brother is around, and only dota/vamp fire/tree tag. The custom game selector is hideous :< But the games, I my are they a lot of fun.
I've also obtained RCT3 ( premium ) at random, just because I thought it was going to be a good game to play while on my way to somewhere, I think I lost 5 days by playing that game.. ( after which I got (world of ) Warcraft III: frozenthrone x3
I played socom for the first time in a week yesterday, I learned that my aiming skills were rather.. bad...... so stop playing socom for a week and everyone powns you, buwhahaha.

Next week will be a week of for me, duh. But over that week I have to work 4 days T_T ( plus I have to work this weekend as well ) I don't mind the idea of MOAR MONEY, I just feel like I am losing quite a lot of time there....
School, school is being school. Meaning that we usually spend our time doing very little till we ( project group ) have access to the mechanical engineering classroom, and hope that we can use the grinding machines to get some work done, which.. buwhaha, concidering the while class use the damn things is unlikely. Joyous times, No stresss, but just being bored a while damn lot seems to describe it.
I have to wait to obtain a new password for my bankaccount, it takes 5 days... and I have something to pay this month, I feel stress at the horizon.

Really, these days on FA are quite strange for me, ever had a random person Watch you without making a comment on your userpage? probably.. but I expected no such thing to happen to me, except when someone of the IRC or Clockworkmansion.com/forum adds me, in which case it's usually mentioned in the said IRC :)
However I see people adding people, I have seen both -watch- hoarders on DA, these hoarders watch people for their watch and gain page views doing this, such fun.. in DA there are lots of these kind of people -plus- fave hoarders who hoard faves to obtain the same (page views)
Now, friends in my friendslist do not feel referred to, cause this does -not- apply to you.

Kimaro grew up in a village with his advanturer dad and his cubi mother. He himself whas cubi but over time the village got over thier being here. His mother had a reputaton of being evil. His mother and dad had many fights almost every day. One day wenn playing with his best and only real friend kimaro stubled across his mother talking to a shady creature. He heard that she had no intention to stay here any longer. He ran home and told his father the whole truth. THen just then his mother came in. She told his kimaro's father that she never loved him. When kas told his father about the reason he whas here his father told him to kill Zinith. At returning to the village zinith whas nowhere to be found. Kas returned to his father only to find his corpse. Kas learned that his fathers killer whas no odenary man but he did not follow zinith out of revenge simply because it whas his clans way. revenge whas a stopit reason to kill someone. Kas is now on the hunt for Ken thi-hunter who is said to be a heartless murderer.

He helped out the local trappers and also dueled with older members of the village even some retired advantures. After leaving town he worked inside a Inn and trained with the local martial artist. He devoloped his own style in this short period. Wenn this martial artist moved Ken followed. He traveled with him for 3 years. After this time period he became an advanturer. An old feline helped him buy weapons and also was the insiration for his current outfit. Ken became older and wiser. He has long given up on the search for his parents. Once he had felt love, Only to see her die in his arms. her last words where "The man who I love is the strongest man in the world." Till this day he fights to become the strongest.

Manu lived a decent life at his home town altough he never tell anyone where hes actually from. He got a job at the Inn called Sisten . He cleans rooms there and is usually quiet. He has a few buddies in the Inns staff. On one day a demon in the inn went on raging and bothering the the costumers. The inn keeper named "Lisa" tried stopping him but the demon was powerfull and angry. The demon would not leave. Manu came down with his broom in one hand and basicly knocked the demon out breaking the broom in two. Manu has followed some Martial arts training is his youth and wenn angered or needed will use them. Manu is known to be good with an Axe since he shops the wood for the cold winters in the Inn. Manu also had few incounters with other creatures aswel and since he works in the In it has been a lot Quieter. Manu almost never leaves the Inn. Only known reasons for him to leave is delivering letters.
Manu is known to keep his mouth shut in most dicussions but wenn asked a question will likely keep talking

Before being named thirteen the moniks named her 'Mystery' Thirteen excepted that name and made it her Surname. After a few years the 'guardians' an old group of people in the monastery asked her to do a job for them. The job was to get a 'package' However this package wasn't handed to her directly. She sneaked in the hotel room and stole it. Sending it to the monastery she was forbidden to return there. The man who she stole from found out about the missing package and had assasins take her out. However thirteens bad luck aura made her assasins very clumsy and she whas warned by the sound they made while aproaching her. Stabbing the closest and the decapatating the others. Thirteen stole thier leaders red outfit for her own and now uses it the disguise herself with. She neve showed her face again always wearing the ninja outfit. She herself printed 13 on the back of it. Many assasins tried to kill her. But none succeeded. Altough she's practicaly easy to follow it's hard to catch her outside a crowd. Six left the monestary to search for him while telling thirteen that she should tak care of herself that she was a good friend. Wenn he left he was determent to find Aiyno Zinòfich and defeat him in a duel. Suddenly there he was Aiyno Zinòfich He ran at him and grabbed his shoulder. The man truned around. A gray cat looking older then Aiyno Zinòfich the feline said "I'm not the one who you are searching for." Six asked if he knew Aiyno Zinòfich "I do, He whas a student of mine a long time ago" the grey cat looked at the mountain on the other side of the river. He helped out the local trappers and also dueled with older members of the village even some retired advantures. After leaving town he worked inside a Inn and trained with the local martial artist. He devoloped his own style in this short period. Wenn this martial artist moved Ken followed. He traveled with him for 3 years. After this time period he became an advanturer. An old feline helped him buy weapons and also was the insiration for his current outfit. Ken became older and wiser. He has long given up on the search for his parents. Once he had felt love, Only to see her die in his arms. her last words where "The man who I love is the strongest man in the world." Till this day he fights to become the strongest.

Thirteen got her name from Martial arts Master Aiyno Zinòfich while he was visting the Monastery. She wasn't named thirteen because she was unlucky herself. No, she was named Thirteen because everyone had bad luck wenn she was fighting including herself. Before being named thirteen the moniks named her 'Mystery' Thirteen excepted that name and made it her Surname. After a few years the 'guardians' an old group of people in the monastery asked her to do a job for them. The job was to get a 'package' However this package wasn't handed to her directly. She sneaked in the hotel room and stole it. Sending it to the monastery she was forbidden to return there. The man who she stole from found out about the missing package and had assasins take her out. However thirteens bad luck aura made her assasins very clumsy and she whas warned by the sound they made while aproaching her. Stabbing the closest and the decapatating the others. Six whas named Six because he was found on the sixth day of the sixth month and he wore a necklace with a symbol that resambled a six. Wenn Six asked Aiyno Zinòfich about how he whas found. Aiyno Zinòfich answered "It's better for you not to know. " However Six made a deal with Aiyno Zinòfich that if he could stand in the ring with him for more then 5 seconds he would be told his past. Wenn the duel began Six did not approach Aiyno at all. Aiyno stood there and looked at six. Then a second later Six layed outside the ring without knowing what happened. 3 years later Aiyno told him about how he found six.
