Its something I kind of want to do as something to pass the time and for a learning experience, among other things.

I know not many people play minecraft anymore, but I figured I'd ask if anyone would be interested if I were to do such a thing.

Basically, its people assuming I'm all dirty and raunchy and horny, just because of things I commission or someone else commissions for themselves.

I know there are a bunch of us on FA who like to commission a lot of things, and a lot of the time they are mature, but I've noticed that we're generally not that sexual or don't RP a whole lot.

The part I don't understand is people who do not believe or do not understand that. I know I like to get dirty pictures here and there when I get art, but I generally just think its visually interesting and fun to look at, its not something I am like "OH GOD, I NEED TO JACK OFF" every single time I look at it.

Its just an attractive thing to commission, since its something I enjoy seeing, even if I next to never role play at all any more. For me its more of a "Hey, look at this, this looks really cool", usually because I really like how the artist drew the picture, and if its something I gave them a lot of freedom with, how happy I am with what they came up with.

I dunno, just a slightly ranty journal since I've had this come up with people being like "NOT GETTING A HARDON FROM COMMISSIONING PORN MAKES NO SENSE" or saying commissioning porn when I'm not that sexual of a guy (any more) is weird.

Not directing this at anyone specific either, its been a long going thing that I've just kind of wanted to get off my back, I guess. lol


Also, graphics card isn't replaced yet, but I might have it replaced next week. Yay to being able to game again. x:

Ends up the graphics card that my dad told me worked that I was using for testing, was actually a dud too, I figured this out when I tried a third graphics card in my computer.

RIP my HD 5770. Going to be stuck with a really old Geforce card for the time being, but at least I can use my computer again.

Update: Computer won't even power on now, so my entire motherboard is a no go no.
Edit: Managed to get it to power on again, not that it helps the previous issue at all. x:



It just randomly gave out tonight while I was in the middle of a game. My 24 inch turned off, and my other monitor started turning on and off, so I tried resetting my computer, just to get no display on either.

I thought my monitors died, so I tried using one with my PS3 which worked. Then I unplugged my graphics card and plugged my monitor into the built in, to find it working that way.

This is some incredibly bad timing, considering I cannot afford to replace it at all, and have a few things I need to pay off on top of having no employment. What a bummer.

No games for a while I guess, I will probably stick to my laptop for a while because of this.


Edit: I don't know if its my graphics card now, I tried using two alternate graphics cards, but neither of them would detect either of my monitors, the only thing that seems to work is the built in graphics card for the motherboard. I am thinking it might be my PCI-E slot that gave out, despite my graphics cards still getting power from it (the fans for all three of them turn on and all that).

So my only guess is it has to do with my motherboard. Either way, still no main PC for the time being. :\

Recently dropped my phone and wrecked the screen. Its still usable and the touch hasn't been affected but I don't have any real way to replace the screen. I'm not covered under a plan/warranty/contract or anything for it.

I'm just curious if anyone has any of their old smart phones laying around that I may be able to buy off of them. I'm hoping for something of similar strength or better of my current phone if possible. I don't have a very large budget for this though.

I figured I would repost this since it never got much attention in the first place when I posted this.

Before I say anything, I'd appreciate it if people could help spread this around for me, considering the urgency.


TL;DR Need somewhere to stay in Ottawa so I can find a job there instead of the tiny town I'm stuck in.


Anyway, situation is I was given a period of three months after I lost my job with Walmart back in July, in order to find another job before my family wanted me to move out.

I've had all but one interview since then and that was last saturday, and I didn't get that job. I've applied QUITE literally everywhere in town that would actually take my resume. I've cold called a bunch of places, I've gone back in to check on others in person just to be pushed away and told no every single time. Either they're not hiring or I don't have the experience they require.

I really need to get back into the city like I was before where I can actually have access to employment resources and a much more generous job market, but I need somewhere to stay in the city to do that.

I am not looking for job seeking advice, I know what I am doing, my resume is as good as its going to get, I have a portfolio for interviews even. I just need a job market that isn't so small and restained like I am stuck with here.

Even though I'd rather not, I plan to job back onto welfare in order to pay rent to whoever is willing to house me as either or a room mate, or temporarily until I am able to get off my feet enough to find my own place.

The problem is I need someone who is willing to let me stay with them while I am doing all of this, who can afford to wait for welfare to put me back in their system (which can take up to two weeks at times).

I'd appreciate any help I could get on finding somewhere to go.

I don't want to go too far into this but basically I was given an ultimatum mid August to find a job before the end of september, or get kicked out of my family's place.

So far I've had zero luck finding anything despite applying everywhere, cold calling and checking back in with places every week, and the end of the month is quickly approaching.

Basically my problem is I don't have anywhere I could stay if I do get kicked out. Its not something I would want to do again, but I'd be more then willing to jump back onto welfare again until I can find a job in town, and I'd try to get out of your hair.

Right now I live in this really small town called Carleton Place, that I moved back into in January after I finished a work placement and my high school equivalence in Ottawa, but the job market here is horrible, and the only job that I did manage to have for a few months let me go for absolutely no reason (They didn't give any reason, I was a temp and wasn't done my probation period, so they didn't need to.)

I know this is a bit of a long shot, but I figured I would give this a shot since I'm starting to get a little desperate and rather stressed out to the point of losing sleep/insomnia and losing my appetite. Its why I am usually gaming whenever I'm not out hunting so that I can relieve said stress.

I really don't like asking for help like this since I value my independence, but its at the point that I don't really have a choice.

If anyone happens to know someone who is from Ottawa who might be able to help, I'd appreciate it if you could send them my way. If you don't, I'd still appreciate spreading the word for me.

Its a turn based MMORPG, it plays much like Final Fantasy Tactics and other tactics games play.
There is also a rather large crafting and gathering profession system, along with an ecosystem and its own government. Your abilities also level up and get stronger the more you use them, and you can completely customize how you want to play your character.

I know its not everyone's cup of tea, but its a small game (about 700mb) and can be played free for many of the starting areas, and I'd be more then willing to accompany anyone who plays those areas with me.

If someone is interested enough after trying it out, I'd be willing to cover their first month subscription. (Its only $6 a month, much cheaper then some of those $15 a month plus buying the game itself for like $50)

I think its a really good game, it just hasn't chosen the best timing to release updates (They released major updates at the same time as D3 and GW2) and hasn't made much effort to expand its player base, but it has a lot of charm to make up for it if you give it time.

Unfortunately Fa was down when it was my birthday so I couldn't make my birthday journal. :V

I'll be 21 on the 11th, which means no more dental or full medical coverage.

On top of that, I am getting kicked out at the end of the month if I can't find a job, and I have no where to go if it comes to that.

Just isn't my year I guess. :V

Anyway, just thought I'd share some good news that I got tonight when I was at work.

I've been suffering from having 12 hour shifts a week at work lately, so I took the time to find the overnight manager through the recommendation of someone I work with in Garden Center.

I've been approved to switch to overnights instead of being stuck in my deadend garden section with shitty hours. I have to wait for the call with my overnight schedule, but once I get that I'll be starting my shifts overnight.

I'll get a minimum of 23 hours a week, up to 37 (According to my co-worker, its rare that you'll have below 30 even if they say minimum of 23), I also get the $1 premium for working overnight, so I'll be making $11.40 an hour I believe. Not bad at all.

My employment is finally going in the right direction.

I know I am already hired and everything, and that the orientation is going to be fairly simple based on what I looked up on it (Similar to a lot of he workshops I did when I was in that Youth Retail Employment Program)

The part I am nervous about is the hours I am going to be given. I'm not a student and I'm not trying to work there for just the summer like a lot of the people who I am going to be going through orientation with, I don't want to have really bad part time hours while I am there, especially since I can work mornings.

This is my first real job that I've REALLY been hired at. When I was in the YREP, I was considered Co-Op, so they were a lot more lenient, and I had completely stable hours while I was there. There is going to be a lot more responsibility on my shoulders by actually being a full employee. I was working 6 months at the other place, but I didn't get to have a probation period because I was Co-Op, else I could have kept that job.

I just don't want to go on another nearly half year job search if I don't get past the 3 months, but I have strong doubts that I won't get booted by the end of it, because of connections I have at the store, and how hard I plan to work while I am there.

I don't know, I guess I am just rambling about nothing, and I shouldn't be so worried. At least I will have an income again, and I'll work somewhere that I can get pretty much anything that I want to get and near some pretty sweet stores otherwise that I can go to if I feel like it, so its not a bad thing. I'll be able to supplement myself with protein properly too, instead of taking reduced dosages all the time, though it'd still be a tad expensive.

I really look forward to having an income again.

Went in at 7pm after getting a call at 4pm today to talk to the Assistant Manager at the local Walmart, and was given a position at the Garden Center.

I do orientation on Tuesday, then I have some things to do on the computers a day or two after that, then I'll get to work in the garden center. With a probable chance to keep working at walmart once the garden center closes in a few months, cause of family connections and how hard I plan to work at it.

Also, free water all day every day, will be able to get a tan from being outside a lot, and I'll get a discount. :B

Just glad something is finally going my way, I've been needing work and have been looking for work for 4 1/2 months, so I am glad I'm finally getting somewhere. Its such a relief to finally get to stop hunting so hard for work.
