Ive decided nows a better time than any to start financially supporting this place seeing as its my primary stomping grounds (Dont get any ideas, unless you do in which case go off)
So Ive reenabled shinies for those that dont want to go to ko-fi or simply didnt / dont know I have one, and can now upload at the resolution I draw at. No more crunchy bs jpegs of whats usually a 5k x 4k drawing.

On the other end of things Ive got another friend Im trying to help become twitch affiliated! They've been a fairly regular commissioner here and are really good at DbD (Dead by Daylight)

-You must provide references for all characters involved, as well as any outfits you want. The fee for refless commissions is +25%
-Refs for props must also be provided, but photos/images count so long as the images provided are accurate as given.
-AI Art is not a reference, nor are YCH templates.
-Sketch and Flats prop upcharge is negotiable based on complexity
-Flats/Cel/Render edits are allowed up to completion of the sketch phase. Major edits after the sketch phase is completed will incur a fee

Art Style Review:
So as I missed the opportunity to do this for the last couple years or so, my annual "Year in review style update" never happened, and comfortable as I am in my current style and ability, its always a good time to stop and consider trying new better things. After all- the niches we leave behind can be cozy for someone else for a bit.


Regardless, there will be a small shift in style in regards to fidelity and a massive underscore on end-product-quality.

Part of the issue with becoming comfortable in ones' style (in my case) is that Ive learned to skip the lining process, simply touching up sketches and presenting that as a lined piece ready for color. SO WE GOIN BACK TO THE SKETCH->LINES PIPELINE BOYS, more or less doubling production time (not a significant length of time either way) but the increase in posted works' quality should be immediately measurable and noticeable-- No more errant white pixels stuck in the corners of lines, nor splotchy grey lines with uneven color saturation, or messy slop.

Plus its boring to be comfortable. Its boring to look back at art and be like "Uhhhh is that from last week or last year", its stupid.
Long story short, Im bored of my art and Im in a place where I am cozy enough that I can experiment again. Undoubtedly many better pieces to be posted in the future B)


More : 10DS Streams

Very shortly we're gonna be up on 10DS-V which is when I want the shift in how sketch comms are chosen to take place. Currently its on a first come first serve basis, but with how quickly the 10DS streams are growing that is very soon to be unmanageable as 8 sketches take 8 hours-- and average form submissions regularly break 12+ pending sketches. I think by 10DS-V, I'll make the big switch to a suggested by Ame wherein 6 slots are FCFS (first come first serve) and the rest are chosen for their content or via Raffle system, and keep my hours to a 10 hour work day or so. Trying to avoid RSI's
I look forward to making a full year of 10DS at some point, it'd be really cool to continue offering art to people who might not be able to otherwise afford my normal rates and let them watch it come together as a bonus.
There will also be a submission form for those in attendance at the streams that goes over content I will and wont draw as well as more specific instructions on how to get yours submitted 'w'

While Every Sunday is doable by current traffic, I suspect that very soon as this becomes routine that the amount of traffic will be unsustainable for either price or accepting the sketches

So Id like to hear your feedback!
I have two plans in order to make it more manageable in the future.


Plan One :
Accept sketches every two weeks, but continue to stream weekly.
Sketches not completed on week 1 will be completed on week 2, and only on week 3 will new sketches be accepted

Plan Two :
Accept sketches every week, but keep slots limited using a raffle or first-come-first-serve system


On average I complete 6 - 10 sketches per week, so that is my current limiting factor to keep in mind 'w'
This really is just a sorta gift to those who show support in a way, so making this easier for all parties really keeps it possible.

To those who took the time, thank you

In short, Im disappointed.
Long story not so short; I mistakenly left the 'other' option on for a few questions-- partly on recommendation of those who thought it a good idea and partly because I too thought it was a good idea. A lot of people seemed to take this as the only option and give consistent "Yes but no but yes" answers, which are empirically useless in the end. I cannot emphasize how jumbled and indecipherable some of the answers I got are-- without singling any particular answer out. After all, the person who made it would know who it is and Id rather avoid that whole dealie.
We had three separate instances of the other option being used to seemingly have a formal debate with the survey itself, treating each new prompt as a new topic to fire back at, leaving even the optional 'yes or no' questions with a lot of "Yes but at the same time no"
At some point we had a couple multi-paragraph other responses to a question which boiled down to "Could things be better, yes or no" and still managed to be vague enough that nobody I asked could make heads or tails of it.

The survey was anonymous so I cant tell who said what but theres two of you who need to go into politics.


To summarize shortform, 62 results were recorded:

In general people like YCH's! They think that generally characters are drawn accurately, and are mostly happy with the results.
There is some contention where a majority of people think that bidding leads to bad spending habits-- but also that the final bidding price is somewhat fair-- leaning too high. So thats a tad confusing.
Autobuy (AB) prices are generally accepted as slightly too high / leaning too high
There is an overwhelming leaning of people who believe YCH reminders are annoying.
People (50%) are NOT avoiding artists who draw YCH's, but reminder *spam* is less likely to garner interaction from a core fanbase. (50% said less likely, 30% neutral, 15% more likely)
A staggering 80.3% of people feel that YCH's are mostly taken by a small group of people with disposable income-- either through standard slot purchase, bidding, or autobuy sniping.
Most people (55%) think that the current state of YCH as a whole could be improved.

Q: "I want a picture involving vore where the pred has a full gut. Is that one or two characters?"
A: Characters are charged on a visibility basis

Q: "I want an XRAY or internal shot, will that cost extra?"
A: Characters visible in an XRAY or internal shot will be charged as additional characters. Internal or XRAY depicting penetration or similar will be considered props.

Q: "I sent you a note but havent heard back yet, what gives?"
A: People like to double and triple note, or treat my inbox like an instant messenger. A lot of notes have been buried by others sending 3+ notes in quick succession. I apologize but theres no way to stop that at the moment.

Q: I want to commission you, what should I have ready?"
A: At minimum, you should have reference material-- Preferrably a reference sheet, but other art of your character is okay as long as its consistent.
Send only material that is relevant to your commission, please do not spam with unrelated pictures that you like just on liking them.
tl;dr) Have a reference, send only relevant reference material, know what pose and expressions you want, and any additional information like props or setting.

Q: "I submitted a commission request before the prices updated, will I have to pay more now?"
A: No, if your submitted commission request is dated before this journal, you'll be on the old pricing model-- Though, future commissions afterwards will return to the new model.

Full pose edits are freely available up until the sketch portion is complete
Minor position edits are freely available until the lineart portion is complete
Edits beyond these points incur a fee

I use paypal, I do not accept other forms of payment, I invoice after the sketch phase.

FAQ on current comms conditions

- after a few very difficult comms and some hard months affording basic necessities (i.e. rice/lentils, soap) Ill be reworking price models to better fit what the client wants, and to better represent the time and effort that goes into them. This does not necessarily mean a flat price-hike, but rather accounts for things like props, backgrounds, clothing in a much more straightforward way.

- Comm tiers have never been functional, comm tiers will be removed entirely in the rework to keep instead a basic numbered slot list. Its just easier to parse and keep track of and update for everyone involved. In addition it made it a bit confusing for those looking at the lists as to when their commission would be started / completed based on what tier theirs would qualify as. If this paragraph is confusing, its only a fraction as much so as the old tiers system. Tiers cause tears lmfao

- Finally probably going to institute some guidelines for submitting a comm in general, like an outline as to what kinds of info I need and to have reference material ready

How do I even begin to describe whats going on right now

Heres what Ive managed to summarize between writing that first sentence and this one.
I need to find a way to emulate the feelings, weather, food, smells, flavors, and overall attitude I experience during Autumn during all other seasons. I just need more of it. Yeah yeah pumpkin spice blah. Whatever. Ill suffer that if it means more apple ciders, mulled wines, herbal roasts, apple. APPLE. For a country where apple pie is apparently some cultural icon, where we have a folk hero named johnny appleseed, apple is stupid absent for most of the year. From october to thanksgiving we get apple, and then it seems to vanish from the collective palette.
I dont know what apple did wrong, or what the fuck a blue raspberry is, but I need more of *it* and *autumn* pronto. Gimme that purple sky, orange trees, and little sliver of silver winking in the sunset ALL YEAR ROUND.

Anyways back to drawing absolute HEDONISM

Its a phrase I often see when viewing comments
If I could offer some constructive nudge in a more forward direction, at least include why it reminds you of that other thing- rather than just flatly stating you think its similar.

Example, I spent 6 hours staring at various angles of the 78 trans am and various sci fi art to draw the fastback and so far most of the comments are "It looks like other thing"
So please, 'it reminds me of <x> because of <y>' and you'll have my gratitude. Thanks!
