Job Phishing Scam
Posted 4 years agoIf you are on ArtStation or have a profile there, be aware there is a hiring scam being sent via email that's a phishing scam using Telegram. I almost gave away my info before the red flags flew on the conversation... but yeah, the username they have is jobsrockstargames and they are a scam artist trying to hire via Rockstar games without ANY form of documentation sent to them about resume or anything with experience.

Times I think outside of the box is when I try to change artwork from a commission and ask to possibly add something extra or maybe change a perspective of an artwork. I used to do figure sketching and artwork of the human body, and perspective is often an after-thought for art, so I purposefully try to play with it more and more with each artwork and angels. I also always try to employ a new material or technique, or brush on the Krita program to better my experiences and minimalize layering beyond what is needed.

If the colors are different from the printed illustration than what is on my computer, firstly I want to make sure it is the color scheme that was requested, and if the final print meets the approval of the person commissioning the piece or my employer. If not, then I need to go back on my end and see if I can modify the color scheme of CMYK or RGB and see if I can modify it and reprint it to a better scheme to help reach the desired end result. It is not common, but scrapping the work and starting fresh if time permits may be called for as far as coloring if needed. Thankfully that is not so common, and I am pretty good with my commissions so far "hitting the nail on the head"

With figure artwork, a lot tends to come from a frontal viewpoint, but I like to change the perspective and angles to be from underneath, overhead, or even reverse profiles. I also love to play with lighting to make the artwork "pop" more with its accents or colors to make the contrast more eye-catching

I have had some serious flops with some artwork before, and I have often asked the commissioner permission to change the perspective if they approve, and give sketches to preplan the idea out before moving forward. Once corrected and approved, I was able to change angles, and even change position of characters.

First I need the story or idea, and I would prefereably make a series of sketches of the characters requested or in the story, and see if there is any historical attributes needed or other research. I would frequently update with either prints OR with PNG copies via email for review on progress with any printed text explaining the progress or idea with necessary steps. Once sketch is approved, final lines or creative lines are attributed and then color schemes for approval. The whole design would typically be three steps of sketch, line, color. If background or information or history is needed, that too can be provided as a separate text or illustration. Some character designs can range from just one good ref sheet design, or several sketches, illustrations, AND a ref sheet depending on the importance of a character in a game's story. Each major step would require approval from those commissioning the piece or character designs. Ref sheets are a great approach for character design: offering front and profile poses along with clothing, armor, specs, facial portrait, other attributes, and any other details to a single reference design sheet, but can also be accompanied by other refs for important character attributes such as facial expression, or armor details or weapon details.

IM STILL ALIVE!
Went through a lot past couple months, sickness, near-death of a parent but he's doin ok now, overworked in my jobs, swamped with expenses, last-minute detox vacations, etc etc... ugh...
BUT
Back open for COMMS!! I am taking comms for hi-defs and drawings since I will be doing away with cell-shade comms starting in 2021 and instead replacing with hi-def black and white (grey scale)

Since I am being commed at a random pace but also more often so I am editing it to compensate demand but also to get rid of some things that aren't being asked for on top of some things I don't like doing (ex. I don't like doing flat color stuff cuz it always seems unfinished to me).
