Keeping up with things as we go along. Back onto doing fanart Friday. I will have a project for the fanart Friday I’ll be doing on the side and maybe between Spike Comic pages. It’s Halloween Centric so It might take priority in some cases as I build up to it. Especially since I still want to do the other Halloween theme stuff just so I’m not missing out on stuff to vote for that month.

Like the Standing Split, Or the Hands-free Bubble Tea pose meme. So as long as it involves meme pose that's been going around. It will be used for your image at a discounted rate but you gotta send me the image of the meme you are referencing first.

Concept Sketch
Because sometimes it is a struggle to design your new OC and placing them in a complex scene that may not show all the details you were hoping to present as your debut of your new character. I will offer one hour of work to help you do a generic standing concept sketch of your new OC before working on the main project. Nothing special will be added. They will not be in an elaborate pose, or a completely different scene. It’s just to hammer out the anatomy and colors so we can then have an idea of how they look before we do the main project.

Anything that invokes old Yes Album art, Flash Gordon or He-man backgrounds and Aesthetics. Basically the whole Scifi and fantasy aesthetics of the 70’s and 80’s that often featured in classic experimental rock music.

Taking my celebratory day off tomorrow. No Fanart Friday for the Patreon. Just a full day of relaxing and not in a hurry to get back to my computer to try and make use of my free time for other art obligations. But I am feeling like I need to strike a balance between being specific with the polls but keeping it open enough to get engagement with suggestions. Also Street Fighter 6 is cool, I recommend it. Lots of newbie friendly tutorials, especially an entire create a character story mode that is just one giant tutorial and fan service. But I actually now feel like I can compete in multiplayer that I haven’t really done in like…a decade.

And things are bouncing back a bit. I hit the first milestone for my patreon for the first time. I am now earning enough to compensate for all four sessions I dedicate each month to the progress on my personal comics. So I’m finally out of the Red on that. My hope is that I continue to grow and get to the point I can cover more sessions in a given week. This week also being a first where I have sots available. So if they don’t get filled I can get more time in to do personal stuff if nobody can make the extra two I have available. I hope to soon be able to cover a full days worth of sessions to focus on the LARR and Spike comics. Also got to do Moushley finally.

It’s been a bit of a productive month. The new changes in policies are heading in a decent direction. Tripping up on a few too much negative stimuli, Just trying to keep my head up. Keeping motivations up when I can. Struggling but I’m keeping on. The patreon is doing better than normal. Just trying to keep interest invested with coming in and sticking around. Might focus on more ideas rather than loose themes to have things be more focused. Photoshop Beta has this interesting new AI generator thing I’ve been playing with. It uses their database of stock photos and it populates things based on what you select. Like a super advanced Content Aware fill that I’ve been normally using. But I’ll see what I can do with it.

Because sometimes it is a struggle to design your new OC and placing them in a complex scene that may not show all the details you were hoping to present as your debut of your new character. I will offer one hour of work to help you do a generic standing concept sketch of your new OC before working on the main project. Nothing special will be added. They will not be in an elaborate pose, or a completely different scene. It’s just to hammer out the anatomy and colors so we can then have an idea of how they look before we do the main project.

Getting spontaneous fluxes of anxiety and depression that kick in randomly. Staying steady. Got one more week left in the month as we wrap it up. Things are starting to even out. But I lost the convenience of using postybirb to post to twitter so now I gotta do it manually to keep up. Weeks atill staying pretty full by the time the schedule needs to be made. This is a pace I can work with. I just need to get back to the gym and curb some of the habits the stress is bringing back. Trying to harness my urges to drink soda by giving myself the stipulation I need to finish 4 bottles of water before I can get another coke and 4 more bottles to replace the previous. I’m actually able to will myself to drink more water this way and it is slowing my soda consumption by a significant margin.

Things are staying up. Staying a head. Still need to get back to the gym. Finding that I’m filling the weeks up despite how it may look half way in. Work is consistent and I reached 1k people on my twitter. Hopefully this keeps helping to build up my Patreon which had a nice bump of 10 more patrons. Concept Sketch
Because sometimes it is a struggle to design your new OC and placing them in a complex scene that may not show all the details you were hoping to present as your debut of your new character. I will offer one hour of work to help you do a generic standing concept sketch of your new OC before working on the main project. Nothing special will be added. They will not be in an elaborate pose, or a completely different scene. It’s just to hammer out the anatomy and colors so we can then have an idea of how they look before we do the main project.

Taking mother’s day off to treat my mother to the things she likes. A movie and her favorite dinner prepared by me. Also before the days end, I almost had half my schedule wide open. But that changed pretty fast over the course of the day. But seeing as I’m starting to see some spare daylight in my schedule. If it ever gets as significant drop like it did without the last minute save, I might suspend my cool down policy.

Back to the grind. Steady comms coming in. Filling up my weeks now wit the extra slots. I just gota figure out how to fix some bad habits I’ve formed to cope with the stress. Less soda, more something else to keep me awake during long work periods and lack of sleep. And foods I can prepare or prepare for the week in less than an hour. And Get back to the gym for the few times during the week I can go.

Concept Sketch
Because sometimes it is a struggle to design your new OC and placing them in a complex scene that may not show all the details you were hoping to present as your debut of your new character. I will offer one hour of work to help you do a generic standing concept sketch of your new OC before working on the main project. Nothing special will be added. They will not be in an elaborate pose, or a completely different scene. It’s just to hammer out the anatomy and colors so we can then have an idea of how they look before we do the main project.

IThankfully I managed to make a bulk of what I needed to pay for. And it required a lot of stress and time. Which is why I'll be taking tomorrow off to just decompress and get myself ready for the new routine of work I'm stetting up for myself. I hope to eventually get into a baseline of earnings that keeps me slightly above the floating line of my finances. This means working 6 days a week if I can fill that many slots, andy slots I don't fill will be filled by those who make requests during the week or if not feasiable for the new requests, patreon content to fill that time.
I've thought about it, And due to how long I've been using old policies and give aways way back when I was starting out 10 years ago, and how much it has often started to become unsustainable as I got more popular. I'm going to stop giving away too many of them. Leaving it up to just the raffle. And I'm giving away half of what I'd normally give away. And the old investment club benefit will just net more discoutned hours, which makes continuing commissions and longer projects cheaper in the long run without putting me in a position of having to give one or more sessions away for free. Also if you have gotten any free hours or discounted hours, you can only redeem one of them per session. This should help me keep the ball rolling on saving up money for the quarterly tax payments coming up.

Because sometimes it is a struggle to design your new OC and placing them in a complex scene that may not show all the details you were hoping to present as your debut of your new character. I will offer one hour of work to help you do a generic standing concept sketch of your new OC before working on the main project. Nothing special will be added. Final stretch till the due date. Adding a buffer to try and stay ahead of the tax bill. While I shouldn’t be planning to succeed as that invites bad luck. But I’ll be taking 4/20 off to decompress and to observe the holiday. However, a second day off is going to be a rare luxury for a while. I’ll be doing one day off a week to try and keep ahead of the bill and I’m thinking over how I’m going to change how I award free hours. It seems. Charging regular prices and getting paid on time for a solid month made me see how much of a difference in income it was. But I have been doing the free hours and discounts for a decade at this point and I most likely have cultivated an expectation of it. And it has allowed some of my popular projects to be commissioned. So I gotta figure out how to keep the ball rolling on allowing me a survivable income and saving up for the next quarterly payment as well as whatever emergencies pop up so I’m not back to square one next year. I’ll be thinking it over over the next five days.

Well, not really that much traffic to my patreon with the leak and public release of the exclusive comic. So, I guess I’ll try to make use of the extra time I have this coming week that doesn’t get claimed on making that progress. And I hope that gives me the boost. It also feels weirdly comforting to have earned a decent amount of money in a short period of time. And still come out with a bit of extra spare time that’s not being filled to use towards other projects. But once the bill is finally paid I will make adjustments to get back to regular prices. Some adjustments might need to be made to how much I offer and give away to avoid set backs. And I may need to keep sacrificing that second day off to keep building myself back up.

Good news and disappointing news. Good news is that I’m well on my way to making my tax bill thanks to everybody paying the undiscounted prices for their commissions. I wish it was an amount I could make on the regular. But I know id be pushing it too much for those who have depended on me having more manageable prices for return commissioners and bigger projects like the comics.
But a big disappoint is that my exclusive patreon Spike comic was posted in its current entirety on another image gallery site without my consent to be archived like the rest. I had hoped when I posted the first page publicly it could bring some attention to my patreon to meet my initial goal of at least paying for the one 3 hour session a week I’ve been dedicating to my personal projects, but now the genie is out of the bottle and I’d look like an ass if I asked for it to be removed since the reception has been warm so far. So no point in keeping that exclusive anymore and I posted it in its entirety on FA and Twitter. And I hope that it brings people in at least for voting on what happens next in the comic and other stuff as patrons. But with how my original intentions for the patreon didn’t work out so well. And if letting it get posted publicly doesn’t help, then I gotta look into something else to do exclusively for the patreon with the little time I can dedicate to it currently.

Continuing the suspension of the discounts. First week has been a stark improvement on what I’ve been able to save up, thanks to everyone respectfully paying full regular price and on the same day as they receive their commissions. For the first time in a while, I’ve been able to stay ahead of my bills as they come, and let my auto savings take the rest. So it looks like I Will be able to cover most of my bills and the taxes if this keeps up. Also with the increased number of slots available, I’m starting to have less in my queue. So Seeing how this coming week pans out. I may have to suspend a few other policies, just for the flexibility I am gaining in my work schedule and work load. I’ve been hit with some bad news for my Taxes. I owe as much as I have currently in my savings, and definitely very short of that in my checking, in what is due in April for last years Taxes and my first Quarterly payment of the year. This will leave me flat broke if I were to pay that now. I am going to have to suspend the Theme discounts and the Free hours to try and build up a buffer in my savings to offset and prepare for the quarterlies to come. On Paper, if I charge my regular session price per session ($43 per 3 hour session), I should be able to get enough money squared away to take the hit and keep up with my upcoming bills I may have to hold this suspension for a couple months. I would be in a better position to handle this if I didn’t have my medical, dental, and car repair issues last year that I dipped into my savings for. And it was not helpful that there were more than enough people who were late to make their payments, putting me in the spot to have to dip into my savings to cover rent and bills as they came up before I got paid eventually. I hope to make use of the coming month before the due date to get head start. If you are unable to pay for a commission, but would like to help me with a boost, I have my patreon which only has the two tiers, A $3 dollar tip tier to get early access to comics and some exclusive content I’m trying to build up. And a $5 tier to give you voting power over what I do next with some comic projects as well as the Fanart Fridays. I have goals for it to where if I receive at least 100 patreons each month it will help offset the money I don’t make in those 3 hours once a week I use to make patreon content. And if I had 200 patrons It would allow me to dedicate a full day each week to work on them. Anything more than that and I’d be golden to dedicate more production time and hire other artists to assist in production of my projects.

Got a dentist appointment tomorrow. The Patreon did have a bump but it looks like I’ve platued for about a couple months now. Like the same amount of people that join also drop off. And not necessarily the same ones that did join. But it could be that I’ve not done many polls there since the last Fanart Friday was so split across so many options with great suggestions I couldn’t pass them up. But hopefully a couple new polls will be posted next week once I’ve finished the last Fanart Friday that was on the list and the new Spike Comic page has some suggestions to vote on. Because sometimes it is a struggle to design your new OC and placing them in a complex scene that may not show all the details you were hoping to present as your debut of your new character. I will offer one hour of work to help you do a generic standing concept sketch of your new OC before working on the main project. Nothing special will be added. They will not be in an elaborate pose, or a completely different scene. It’s just to hammer out the anatomy and colors so we can then have an idea of how they look before we do the main project.

Had issues with people being a bit relaxed, or delinquent on their payments. It was a trend that got too uncomfortable after a while. I would appreciate that a more frequent and responsive communications be made. At least for new commissioners who make their requests know to check my Journals for the queue and the schedule. To know when I will be working with you. And when to have the money ready. I ask that people please read these journals to stay up to date. Just so we can make sure everything is conducted in a scheduled manner.

Computer is now officially paid off so I don’t have that recurring bill to worry about for the next six months. I hope to be able to save up more money to take care of the other debts I’ve accumulated while this last couple months have been struggling. But Taxes will decide if that is feasible or not. Seeing some interest pick up on the patreon. Made some goal adjustments as I previously mentioned. If I get at least 100 patrons Consistently I’ll start posting the exclusive Spike Comic one page for every Five I complete, and I’m closing in on that fifth page. I hope to build up to more so I can fund full work days beyond the 3 hours a week I’m doing out of pocket.

I will offer one hour of work to help you do a generic standing concept sketch of your new OC before working on the main project. Nothing special will be added. They will not be in an elaborate pose, or a completely different scene. It’s just to hammer out the anatomy and colors so we can then have an idea of how they look before we do the main project.

This past week has be fraught with depression and anxiety as I’ve gotten word of my Father’s dire financial situation. And my Mother’s health. So far my mother is kind of in the clear in the limbo of not knowing if things are serious or benign. But a test later next month will give us a final answer. And if any results come sooner then we will worry then. But every day there is no news is good news.
Also predictably a chunk of patrons did drop off. So I modified my goals a bit. If I reach 100 patrons I’ll post a Page from my Spike comic publicly for each five I complete and upload to the patreon. And I am working on the fifth one this week pending the results of the votes from my patrons. If I got 200 patrons I’ll post my patreon exclusive content publicly with a month delay from the original posting, this amount of patrons will give me enough cash flow to to dedicate a day of each week to my patreon content to produce them more regularly.

Now begins the process of getting my taxes in order. But new milestone is achieved! And at the same time This is the first time my queue has gone to one! So I can now better guarantee my comic commissions and any inquiring commissioners a slot within the next schedule period. And another of my comics has been finished I have one more left before I open back up to accepting new comic commissions. Again I will have to be selective not to be so overloaded that I can’t guarantee consistent progress and not end up with so many that people were only getting 3 hours of work once a month.

Well that jumped up pretty damn quick. I’m currently at 9,998 watchers as of the pose of this journal. Huge milestone. I hope I can convert some of that to Patreon numbers. Hell, anything less than 1/10th of my total watchers would change my life and allow me to dedicate time to personal comics and the CYOA Spike comic. But that should come along maybe eventually.

I Want my MTV
I'll do a comission whose inspired themes are based around a pop song that would've premiered on MTV. Big Bonus points for songs that charted in the top 100 even as recently as current. But essetially the comission has to contain concepts or ideas contained in the song which can be directly referencing lyrics, styles associated with the genre (cowboy hats for country songs) and a reference or two to the muscian or band.

Concept Sketch
Because sometimes it is a struggle to design your new OC and placing them in a complex scene that may not show all the details you were hoping to present as your debut of your new character. I will offer one hour of work to help you do a generic standing concept sketch of your new OC before working on the main project. Nothing special will be added. They will not be in an elaborate pose, or a completely different scene. It’s just to hammer out the anatomy and colors so we can then have an idea of how they look before we do the main project.

Each 25 bucks spent after that will earn an additional $5 discount to be used instead of paying $17 bucks for an extra hour at my regular rates.
Raffle info!I will put you in the raffle if you commission me or refer paying customers to me and they have to say you referred them to make it valid. There will be two categories.
Referrals! Refer a paying customer to be included in the raffle. The new customer has to name drop you or feature your character in their art, or you give away any previously earned free hours to people that would need the help getting art for themselves.
The General Raffle. Everyone will be included in this raffle for Commissioning me, Referring customers, and donating a certain amount. The Pool of free hours will to give out will increase based on how high I have reached towards my goal. I will roll multiple times for each free hour to give, The Prize will be awarded when I reach my goal or at the end of the month. Whichever comes first.

And now we have arrived at the raise in my rates. I’ll be doing all my undiscounted hours at 19 bucks. Patreon did get a small bump but that was a few people coming in to take a peak. But another milestone. I’m Encroaching upon 10k watchers. A fantastic milestone. I hope a chunk of that eventually translates to the patreon. But it is nice to feel like I hit such a round number on my 10th year of doing commissions.
