Just got the best news ever! That student loan refund check I got, entirely non-taxable according to my accountant. And I have full reign over the full amount. This is the most money I’ve ever had at one time in my entire life. It is a life changing amount. And with it I am taking steps to make positive changes. First I paid off one of my credit accounts. Paid off most of the soon to be finished payment plan items I had with affirm. And after my first day back to the gym after a year and a half of working myself to death to keep up with finances, I also bought myself enough meat to last me the month and then some for fifty bucks less than what I would have spent doing a week’s worth of door dash. And to treat myself I splurged and got myself my first ever quality pair of high end shoes to add to my wizard drip. Soon I will pay off the rest of my lines of credit. Be debt free. And still have a majority of my refund to remain my safety net and piggy bank for future investments I plan to make this year so I can have some tax write offs to go with my quarterlies. Also, doctor prescribed me some diet pills that are some strong uppers, and they have been waking me the fuck up so I definitely back to work my regular 12 hour days. I feel like this is finally a new beginning for me.

I am waiting for confirmation from my accountant about the check I received and whether it is taxable so I can know how much I can use. Starting off the year on a good foot. Gonna work through my first busy week. Then, hopefully, I can start taking a couple of days off a week. Also, a new year, hopefully, some New patrons come. I’m $7 worth of patrons away from adding an extra monthly session to work on Patreon content. And my goal is to reach at least $270 worth of patrons a month to have 6 sessions a month. Receiving that check finally made something click in me. For those who said money can’t buy happiness, It definitely made me feel more comfortable to be in my situation for the moment and my near to immediate future. Made the Holiday more tolerable. And it got me feeling like I can take this weekend off for both mine and my mother’s birthdays with no regrets. I am also feeling optimistic about going to the gym and dieting again in January. I feel like I have some level of control back in my life. Controlling my sleep is a question in itself. But That is gonna come with some discipline and my medication not being as saturated in my system. It definitely hit me pretty hard on Thursday out of nowhere when I spent a good portion of Christmas Day being awake and functional.

Holiday miracle, I received my Student Loan Refund. And it is a life changing amount of money. Waiting on confirmation from my accountant to see if it is non-taxable. I live in California so the Borrowers Defense to Repayment discharge is considered not taxable. Just waiting to see if the refund check is also not taxable. Cause It will definitely help me a great deal.

Got the new meds and I gotta wait for the lower dosage to decrease the amount of meds already in my system that have been contributing to my brain fog and my deep sleep. It might be a few weeks before I start to see results. The Holidays Are in swing and a good omen is that I think I made the best version of my grandmother’s meatball recipe yet.

Well I’m sure plenty of you have heard the news too, It compounded things for me and left me in an anxiety stunlock. Like I was just blankly staring at a repeating video on my feed for an hour and a half at one point and just couldn’t process anything else, couldn’t even sleep. As strong as my meds were to keep me asleep. They weren’t strong enough for the kind of existential dread of my immediate, four year and long term futures seem bleak and uncertain, I do not know the consequences that will occur because of all these things beyond my control. But I remember there is something I can control. my art, and how I treat others. We are entering in a period of time where people are going to feel emboldened to be their worst selves, last time allowed them to be sore winners and based on what I’ve seen in the circles I’m in and what comes into my feeds on Twitter and facebook, lots and lots of sore winners, all of them. But during this time we need to be our best selves, Better than whatever labels, slurs, or whatever new thing they want to call those that disagree with them. Be kind but be strong enough to not let disrespect reduce ourselves to the exact thing they want us to be. But more importantly, there will be people who will be more vulnerable with a lot more to lose than the rest of us. Be strong enough to protect them, Stand with them, be the shelter and the community we all need to endure the storms to come. And if you are angry, if you feel need to fight back, do so where it can benefit us the most. Go into politics, local, state, or federal. Be the change you want to see. Build the community you want to have. Let this motivate you into replacing those who are doing more harm than good. There is nothing that that can be destroyed that can’t be built back up brick by brick. Stronger and sturdier than last time.

This week ended with a bunch of bullshit that I just flat out gave up on making any kind of accommodations as I am burnt out. Father couldn’t clarify with me during the week if I had to appear with him in court because he is being sued by the buyer of property of ours he sold to cover his debts. Because the new owner of the property can’t sell the property himself because of a complication in my grandfather’s and grandmother’s wills. And literally on the day of I was hoping my father would make the call, I wake up to somebody setting part of my grandmother’s property on fire. Ruining all potential hope I had if I was to inherit that property someday. And it just derailed everything and I Just couldn’t focus on anything for the life of me for how angry I was. I couldn’t even enjoy that I managed to break through the average income barrier for this month despite my problems with my sleep schedule. I’ll be doing the raffle later. I may go back to taking two days a week off if All this missed morning slots didn’t ruin the progress I made, but I am sure I could’ve made more money if I had made it to those slots.

Crappy week, Caught the seasonal cold but at least I’m getting that out of the way for now. Still it further complicated my sleep schedule which was not helpful. Made some time as people needed to shuffler their own schedules during the week to try and finish some projects along with others. But progress was made. Well this week has been a bust, Not quite a morning person anymore. I’d try taking melatonin more often to start my sleep schedule but I fear I’d become dependent on them to sleep. But It took a toll on my earnings for the week. So I gotta fix it!

Finally doing the raffle for the current month. I’ve decided to give investment club just a discounted hour for reaching their 50 buck threshold. And I’ll be giving away 13 free hours, and to distribute the hours evenly only one can be one per person. These discounts can be redeemed every other session so that if I’m being commissioned four times a week, at least half will be full priced. I got my credit card that holds the loans for my dental work, so there’s that to help me out with those finances. Getting my permanent crowns in on Tuesday. SSeeing that I’m hitting around the same numbers as my average, and this is due to some session being skipped or incomplete because of my sleep schedule being a mess. I gotta correct myself hard to stay on it and try to power through my fatigue. I hope I can discuss the side effects of my meds with my Doctor or some way to try and fix my sleep schedule.

So far so good in the implementation of limits on discounts. This has been a productive week despite hiccups in my sleep schedule. And there was a surge in requests, this has been the first time in the past month or so that I’ve not had the room to fit everybody that made requests. I am also 45 bucks worth of new patrons away from adding a sixth Patreon content session a month. I was almost there earlier but unfortunately, whatever I did the bring in 25 bucks worth of patrons wasn’t long enough to keep them for longer than a month so if you want to join and vote for the current Fanart Friday Poll, the link is above. Didn’t do the raffle as I needed to figure out how I’m going to distribute hours. How many to give away just so I don’t end up giving away too many that get redeemed all at once. I might just save the poll for the end of the month and count just this month. Also I had to take out a loan for my teeth. I apparently Need all four of my top front teeth crowned ASAP. So That’s gonna get started this week. And Another bit of debt I have to get myself out from under as soon as possible.

I built up enough in my savings to make the payment for my taxes. Now I got the months ahead of me to try and make enough money to build my savings back up. As I mentioned previously. I’m limiting my distribution of discounts an free hours. The monthly ones will be reduced to one or two a month. The long term projects will have access to the wider list that will be still held on my discord server. The comics are still on the hook for multiple sessions some going on for years now, so what I can offer makes those gigantic investments cheaper will be available. And A theme discount can’t be used twice in a row on regular comms. Without raising my rates, the most I can hope for is as many sessions as I can get that are at my regular priced rates. Any bit of that 1k+ I’ve been missing out on average will fix a lot of problems I’ve been having and keep me ahead of the big bills and any surprise costs as well as the occasional break. My fatigue and chaotic sleep schedule might be my body reacting to me working with barely a day off since tax season. The free hour raffle will be held on the fifteenth after the tax payment goes through.

Sleep has been a struggle. But I’m keeping up. I’m on my way to meeting my tax payment. Still thinking over how I’m gonna handle discounts and rewards. I am at a point that I don’t think I need promotional deals to attract commissioners that my body of work hasn’t been doing so already. But I’ll see what I can do to make some commissions cheaper.

One day more in the month and I managed at least half of that 1.2k I was hoping to reach but that came with some of my own faults. Taking meds late, Causing me to sleep in through some alarms. But that is why I still got 15 days till the tax payment to try earning that amount. I’ve also been thinking over how I’m gonna be doing my discounts and free hours. I think I’ve reached the point that I don’t need to give away stuff to gain new commissioners as many have approached me without knowing I offered discounts. And not all the theme discounts I’ve offered were picked up as much as the few that tended to get used the most often. I’m thinking of keeping the full list available to long term ongoing projects like the comics, those are gonna be stuff I’m gonna be working on for months and years at the most. So what helps those few projects keep going will be fine. But I’ll be offering maybe one or two theme discounts per month. That will change from month to month for everybody else. And I’ll be giving away a handful of free hours per month and they will apply to full price hours. Normally if I fuck up or end up late, I usually shorten the hours and still charge from there, sacrificing a full price hour in the process. And maybe going back to implementing discounts not being used twice in a row by commissioners. Just to try and guarantee I can make a substantial living and stay ahead of these emergencies.

Well with the whole FA going down. I’m gonna have to encourage people to contact me through discord to inquire about commissions. Missed a few sessions due to being unable to check the notes that had been sent to me for those refs and details. I do have a server, but I gotta vet people first before I let them in which is why I don’t post a link anywhere on here. And the vetting process is pretty simple, After a few commissions to check vibes. Or if a friend of yours is already in the server that can vouche for ya.
But besides that, Making decent progress on on everything. Still thinking about how I’m handling discounts going forward. I might limit how many I have available per month. And maybe How often those can be redeemed. Like I used to have a rule where discounts couldn’t be redeemed twice in a row. Stuff I’m mulling over.

Better progress. Seeing it has helped to calm my nerves a bit. Enough that it pulled me out of my funk to do some serious cleanup. Cleaned out some of the clutter and junk in my room. And finally laid out the plastic mat for my chair to roll that I bought months ago. And I’ve set up a payment plan for a backup battery for my computer setup. To help save me some trouble in case of rolling brown outs or stormy blackouts. Finally something I can write off on my taxes for the coming year. I need to do more of those, but once I’m over this hurdle I will see what can be done.

This week started off shakey. But the end result of it did pan out better than previous weeks. 300 more than average. Still. Gotta keep up. The sleepiness and fatigue is still stuck with me so naps are interrupting my work flow and costing me sleep at night. All just to be able to focus on concentrate on my work. Anymore nights of insomnia will be spent working on work that doesn’t require people to attend since it will be in the middle of the night. Or for those from timezones like in the European region who would be up much earlier than us in the Americas. I look forward to making better progress next week with the full schedule. Patreon has stabilized at 200 bucks. 25 bucks and I might be able to afford a fifth session a month to work on Patreon comics.

I need to remind everybody. That for the month of August until Sept 15 when the next Big Tax bill is due I’ll be suspending discounts and free hours. In order to try and save up money to make up for what I paid my parents to help with their business debt. I will also be reviewing how I divvy up discounts and such going forward after the bill is done. I have built up a lot of return commissioners and supporters. I would like to continue offering benefits, but a lot of my sessions end up to either be discounted if they get to 3 hours of work, and on average I end up making 1.2k less that what I would’ve made if I charged 45 per session. A substantial amount that even in a month could cover my expected Tax bill that I am crunching for this time. And That is still a cheap rate comparatively. Just a lot to think about.

I'd like to draw in different styles or do something that would get me more views. Anything that features popular well known characters and IPs. No original characters dressed as other characters.

Ask for a link to my collection of reference materials for styles for art, hair, attire. And examples of anatomy, poses, compositions, color uses, expressions, and memes I want to attempt to incorporate into my style. I missed out on a lot of these when they were a thing. I did the one Jack-O pose but I'd like to do more and some in the past that came and went. Like the Standing Split, Or the Hands-free Bubble Tea pose meme. So as long as it involves meme pose that's been going around. It will be used for your image at a discounted rate but you gotta send me the image of the meme you are referencing first.
Concept Sketch
Because sometimes it is a struggle to design your new OC and placing them in a complex scene that may not show all the details you were hoping to present as your debut of your new character. I will offer one hour of work to help you do a generic standing concept sketch of your new OC before working on the main project. Nothing special will be added. They will not be in an elaborate pose, or a completely different scene. It’s just to hammer out the anatomy and colors so we can then have an idea of how they look before we do the main project.

Dynamic action poses. Punching, Kicking, Sword slashing, Wrassling, Leaping, Jumping, Running, Crouching, Wake up DP. Some kind of action focused momentum driven poses. Especially if it involves an impact.

Sleep Schedule is finally solved. Fatigue due to medicine in my system is just gonna be something I gotta be aware of. But I am going to bed and waking up when I need to. But more bad news hit my family. My parents let a credit card they used for the farm business go unpaid for too long to the point of being sued. They reached a settlement but it is gonna require us pooling our money together to help pay it off. And I am most likely not going to get my money back. But I also have my quarterly tax payment due in September. So I need to save up a lot of money within the month and a half I have. I also acknowledge it has been a few months since I’ve done the raffle. Since the week I spent dealing with an ear infection and my erratic sleep schedule, it has been a struggle to stay ahead of my finances especially while offering discounts at the same time.
So, Starting in August, until my tax payment is paid I’ll be suspending the discounts and free hours to save up money, and once I’ve paid my final big bill of the month. I’m gonna see where I am financially to make a decision about the discounts and free hours I’ve been giving away.
