--Combat--
Alignment (face/tweener/heel): Face; he's generally a nice guy
Fighting Style: boxer
Stances (Describe): Lacking physical strength, he focuses more on speed and technique to get an upper hand on his opponents
Donts (Fight/RP): No excessive violence or gore, tend to prefer avoiding hostility
--Personality--
Hobbies: Sparring, working out, video games, hanging out with Laine
Likes (List a least three): fighting, sleeping, eating, sex, lots of sex
Dislikes (List at least three): gore, drama, hostility
Fetishes: tit fucking, cumshots, being dominated
Disposition (sub/dom/switch): Switch
Donts (Sex/RP): Scat/urination, vore
--History--
Personal History: Merric is probably best known as Laine’s boyfriend. The red fox was talked into joining Tetsuo’s Gym by the busty pornstar vixen when they first started dating. While his skills haven’t improved a whole lot since then, he enjoys stepping in the ring to test himself against all manner of opponents, even if he generally ends up failing those tests. His history with Laine and his generous endowment have turned him into a much better lover than fighter, though, and he’s more than capable when it comes to pleasing his opponents after the bout.
Fighting/Tournament Experiences: Merric’s lack of physical strength and average-at-best skills usually amount to him lying unconscious on the canvas at the end of his bouts, but he doesn’t mind that so much since it almost always leads to a following bout of incredible sex with his opponent.

I'm back! Maybe!
General | Posted 10 years agoSo I'm going to try my luck submitting stuff here again, as I understand things are a bit better around here with management and the AUP. We shall see how it goes!
All future pics will be posted at SoFurry
General | Posted 11 years agoHeads up that I'm not going be doing any more "forwarding" posts to point out my new work on SF. I'm tired of explaining them, and I figure anyone who's interested in following me can just set up a SF account. :P

Bias? What bias?
General | Posted 15 years agoSo I thought of something funny today. This was left unscathed in my gallery: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1110094/
Now, if you don't already see what's funny about that, lemme tell you. The whole argument against my art belonging here is that because someone else contributed to my art by making some of the models I use (even if heavily modified by me), the art is not "mine."
See where I'm going? All I did with that pic is color an awesome piece of gift art that
glassjawboxer did for me. That picture is like 99% him and 1% me, why is that safe? The same could be said for any collaborative work, surely only the guy who put in the most "effort" should be able to post it, right? It isn't the other guy's work then after all, right? Or maybe neither one can claim ownership and it shouldn't be allowed to be posted at all!
But no, all those things are perfectly a-ok. Because it's "art."

My art's a-comin' down
General | Posted 15 years agoI figured I'd post this in a journal too in case anybody looked at my latest submission and thought "that's stupid, I'm not gonna look at that."
Save what ya want before the admins yank my art down!

Kickin' around an idea for a *new* boxing game.
General | Posted 16 years agoSo I've been kicking around this idea for a little while now, I'm curious what anybody else might think. I always thought it'd be kinda cool to make a boxing game that multiple artists could contribute to. That obviously wouldn't have worked out so well for my olde 3D boxing game, but I've been thinking about making a new 2D boxing game in Flash, similar to Punch-Out. The nifty bit here being that if there are any interested artists out there, you could draw up some characters for the game! It'd be cool to have my characters slug it out with other artists' characters as drawn by themselves!
Here's the reality check though: it'd no doubt take a good handful of pics from anybody wishing to contribute. Doing the math it'd look something like this:
Idle animation: ~4 frames
Blocking high: ~2 frames
Blocking low: ~2 frames
Dodging (left and right): 1 frame
Jab (left and right): 1 windup, 1 punch
Cross (left and right): 1 windup, 1 punch
Uppercut (left and right): 1 windup, 1 punch
Body blow (left and right): 1 windup, 1 punch
Jab hit: 1 frame
Cross hit (left and right): 1 frame
Body hit: 1 frame
Uppercut hit: 1 frame
Knockdown: ~3 frames?
Victory pose: 1-4 frames depending
So that's roughly 38 frames, or 28 frames if the left and right animations could be mirrored. This is all just a rough outline and certainly isn't concrete yet. But anyway, I'm curious if anyone out there thinks this is a good idea and might even be interested in contributing. Let me know!

More random game progress
General | Posted 16 years agoI just recently picked up working on my boxing game again. I've decided the next thing on the agenda is to rework the boxing gameplay; make it more punch-out-ish. I kinda feel that the boxing in the game as it is is a little frantic and out of control. By adding a wind up to each big punch the player or the CPU can dodge punches and then maybe counter or build up "special dodgy points" or something.
I'm curious what anyone who's played the game thinks about this, or if anyone has any alternate ideas to spruce up the boxing. I'm all ears!

Random game progress update
General | Posted 17 years agoSo I've picked up working on my boxing game a bit in my spare time lately and I thought a few of you might be interested to hear some of the new stuff that's going in.
First and probably foremost for a lot of you, I've figured out a pretty good way to lower the poly count on the models without completely screwing up texture coordinates and stuff and it allows me to use models that have about 1/10th of the faces but they still look about as good. That means much faster model loading in the menus and probably much better performance in-game for a lot of you.
Some other new things:
I added condition values for various body parts; as you get punched in the head or body more, it begins to hurt more, as you punch and block your arms tire, and as you move around your legs tire. I'm still tweaking that stuff though.
I added a stamina regen bonus for when you have your opponent on the ropes, so you can throw more punches and pour on the punishment.
I added some stats that will be displayed during round breaks such as punches thrown / landed during the round and during the entire fight, same for number of knockdowns.
I'm playing around with slowing down the fighting a little bit so it isn't as frantic, I could use some ideas on this if anyone's got some.
There's probably more that I'm forgetting, it's been a while since the last demo. :p
Anyway, I'm always open to suggestions, so if you have any ideas or comments on these things (or anything else for that matter), fire away!

Some new stuff on my DA page
General | Posted 17 years agoIf anyone's interested, I've been posting the occasional realistic/anime/human-type pic over on my DA page, which can be located all up over here: http://tetsuo72.deviantart.com/
Go forth and observe, if you are so inclined.

Any animators out there?
General | Posted 17 years agoI'm once again thinking about redoing the animations for my boxing game... but as I've said before, I'm a crappy animator. So, if there's anybody out there who has experience animating in 3ds max (specifically with the biped) that'd like to help out and/or be commissioned for some animations, I'd be supremely grateful!
Rankings?
General | Posted 17 years agoI've heard a lot of moaning about the new rankings page... but does anyone really take that seriously or personally? I mean, is it really that important to be fake-popular on the internet?

Who's working a lot?
General | Posted 17 years agoBesides the late James Brown, that'd be me. I'm going to be putting in major-huge hours at work for a couple months here. So, art/game updates will probably only trickle in occasionally on the weekends. Feel free to share your thoughts on my awesomeness at any time in between though of course!
Boxing game feedback
General | Posted 17 years agoHey all,
I'm going to try to get a new demo put together for my boxing game this weekend. If you have any feedback I'd like to hear it! If possible, I'll incorporate your ideas as I have time. In particular, I'm probably going to adjust the controls with this demo, so if you have any ideas for how the controls should be laid out let me know!

(Boxing+Sex)*Story = Glorious
General | Posted 18 years agoHey fellows, Roland and I are planning on working on a story series together. He'll do the stories, I'll do the pics. He's got the first installment up here:

Now I just need to get my butt in gear and find time to work on the pics for round 1!

Internetless for a week
General | Posted 18 years agoTo whom it may concern:
I'm moving in to my new apartment tomorrow and won't have my internet hooked up until next Wednesday (unless someone nearby has an unsecured wireless network >:) ). Just a heads up to anyone pm-ing me or anything, don't get offended if I don't answer before I'm back online. ;)

Three days of driving later...
General | Posted 18 years agoWell, after three long-ass days of driving I'm within striking distance of my new job; I didn't even die once on the way. I'm just waiting on the movers to deliver my furniture and stuff sometime next week then I'll probably be able to get to work on commission-y goodness. That is all. Dismissed.
Sweetening the deal.
General | Posted 18 years agoHey all. A thought occurred to me just a bit ago. As long as I'm making commissioned character models for the game, I could throw in a few pictures of your character at my gym while I'm at it. So, along with getting your character in the game, a $100 commission will also get you three pics of your character boxing or sexing with up to two of my characters. Pretty much anything goes as far as subject matter, but I do reserve the right to say "nah, think of something else," hehe.
Game character commission slots
General | Posted 18 years agoHey everybody,
I figure I can probably start working on getting commissioned characters into the game once I'm established in my new apartment and settled in to my new job, so that would probably be mid-June or so. I'd like to get a list of people who are seriously interested put together so I know what I'm looking at.
So, I'm going to start taking names for commission slots on a first-come-first-serve basis starting Sunday (say 9:00 pm PST, you can send me a PM to reserve a slot, start forming a line now!). I'll get to the commissions in the order I receive them, and I can't promise I'll be at all timely with them. It may happen that I can't create a satisfactory character for you too (avians and scalies in particular may be difficult), I can't guarantee that I can make any character thrown at me.
Each character commission will cost $100 (remember, the game itself is free) and will include the character in question and the default attire for boxers (trunks, sports bra; optional to wear in-game of course :p ). Additional clothing / costumes can be made to order for an additional cost (maybe $10 per outfit, I'll decide on a cost if anyone wants to take me up on it).
I won't ask for payment until I actually begin working on your commission. I don't want to have a bunch of paid commissions demanding to be finished if I don't have time for them, hehe.
Finally, you can check out the various demos I've posted if you're curious about whether the game will work on your computer or if you're really interested in it. I take no responsibility to ensure that the game works on your particular machine, so *please* make sure it does before you put in for a commission.
Alright, I think that's about it. Remember that I'll start taking names for commission slots starting Sunday night at 9:00 PST to give everyone who's interested a fair shot at signing up.

I've got me a jorb!
General | Posted 18 years agoHuzzah! I've officially landed a job as a game dev! So, I'll be moving here in a few weeks, which means the art-flow will probably peter off while I'm cleaning up the ol' apartment and packing things up before it stops completely once I'm actually moving. Also, just let this serve as a heads up if I "ignore" something I otherwise wouldn't in the coming weeks, I'm probably not actually ignoring you!
