April Scholars idea.
General | Posted 4 weeks agoA friend suggested an interesting alternative to April Fools Day earlier; it involves posting a fact that you consider interesting with sources rather than making stuff up. I would like it if this took off so here's my fact:
Sonic 2 was originally going to have an elaborate time travel plot involving going back to the past, then going to a version of the present where Robotnik took over, going back to a version of the past where the island flooded and then going to the future ( https://tcrf.net/Prerelease:Sonic_t.....e_Travel_Story ). This idea seems to have been scrapped by the time the Simon Wei prototype was made but there were theories about Dust Hill Zone being linked to Mystic Cave Zone due to the level with that name in the SW prototype using MC assets as well as Wood Zone using Metropolis Zone's music and containing an inactive conveyer belt which could only be seen via debug mode ( https://sonic.fandom.com/wiki/Sonic.....Wai_prototype) ). While Cyber City contained no data in the SW prototype (and was missing in the Nick Arcade prototype which predated that), enough assets have been found to have a go at recreating it ( https://www.sonicstadium.org/articl.....nveiled-r1778/ ) and artist Brenda Cook has shown off some art for levels which didn't make it into the final game ( https://tcrf.net/Prerelease:Sonic_t.....Scrapped_Zones ). Oddly, the beta Hidden Palace screenshots, which look different to the version in the NA and SW prototypes, and the screenshot of the desert level were actually publicised in magazines with the latter being used in an advert ( https://sonic.fandom.com/wiki/Sand_.....r_Zone#Gallery ).

Petition regarding EU internet censorship.

Has anyone else tried Streets of Rogue?
General | Posted 9 years agoI decided to try http://streetsofrogue.com/ because it's free to play this weekend and I'm curious about whether anyone else has tried it, and whether you like it or not.
Skype Virus Warning.
General | Posted 11 years agoAnother friend mentioned getting the link described on http://takusexybox.tumblr.com/post/.....-you-receive-a . It seems as though clicking on it is unwise.
Iain Duncan Smith Petition.
General | Posted 13 years agohttps://www.change.org/en-GB/petiti.....e-on-53-a-week Considering IDS's contempt for the people of this country (see http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2.....shelf-stacking as an example of this), it will be interesting to see if he could actually do it, assuming he didn't have access to his savings while being barred from claiming expenses.
Interesting nation simulation game.
General | Posted 13 years agoI started playing an interesting game called Nation States yesterday named Nation States.
It's basically a simple nation simulation game where you create your own nation after answering questions about your political opinions before making decisions regarding policies. If you guys decide to try it, please could you link me to your nation so I can add you to my Dossier? (My nation is http://www.nationstates.net/nation=electioneer ; the name and motto are Radiohead references and I made the flag myself).

Potentially worrying.
General | Posted 14 years agoWhile this could just be an exagguration or deliberate misinformation, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A24cFPV5JtA may interest anyone who's in America.
More internet privacy petitions.
General | Posted 14 years agohttp://www.avaaz.org/en/stop_cispa/?cl=1702273411&v=13511 and http://www.avaaz.org/en/stop_the_big_brother_law_a/?cl=1700636054&v=13490 are both worrying (and annoying considering how much opposition there was to SOPA).
Another bill targeting privacy online.
General | Posted 14 years agoIf this one passes, it would force service providers to keep track of details such as addresses and credit card info: http://act.demandprogress.org/letter/snooping/?akid=1192.543186.8KH4GF&rd=1&t=2 .
Google privacy policy changes.
General | Posted 14 years agoI saw http://www.brasschecktv.com/page/9160.html earlier, and I thought I'd post it here due to the implications of it.
ACTA.
General | Posted 14 years agoDue to the threat it poses to the internet, I thought it would be a good idea to publicise this petition, http://www.avaaz.org/en/eu_save_the_internet/?cl=1540225163&v=12293 , which is concerned with stopping the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (it seems to be as bad as SOPA).
