So, started watching the new Thundercats tonight.

AWE. SOME.

I've never seen the original series, which makes me a poor child of the 80s, but I at least know who the main characters are, and I got into this pretty quickly. The kids are adorable, Cheetara is hot, Tygra's a dick, Mumm-Ra is SCARY AS FUCK, and Snarf doesn't talk, which makes him just a cute little sin against nature.

It's anime as hell, which is pretty impressive, and though the pilot episodes kind of eclipsed episode three, I'm looking forward to more of this. :D

I had to cancel my stream today for a couple of reasons. I'm moving the time to Sunday mornings at 11 AM Eastern time, maybe 10, and I'm going to try sticking to that. If this turns out to be undoable, I'll change it here, but otherwise this is the last time I'll mention it here, since no one seems to care.

What the hell, LJ, don't you know I have a MASSIVE MY LITTLE PONY POST that I've been compiling over the last two months that needs to be uploaded? (Abridged version on my Google+!) Y U NO LET ME POST NOTHING

My dad keeps saying he wants to buy me a laptop, and I keep saying no. I don't really understand why.

First off, there's the whole issue of "I'm tired of having to rely on my parents for everything." This isn't something I need, therefore I shouldn't be making them buy it. Fair explanation, I guess.

But the fact is, my computer's going. Not a week has gone by in the last month that it hasn't restarted at least once. A laptop would give me mobility, something I lack. Even just a new PC would at the very least allow me to not have to worry about losing all my shit when this one goes, not to mention a chance to upgrade things like processor, RAM, HD space and my decade+ old sound card.

As for the prospect of a laptop itself, I've been saying that I'd love to be able to get a bunch of HD enclosures and other USB peripherals, hook everything up and then be able to take my entire system (or most of it) with me in a bag.

Frankly, I just don't know. I don't know what I want/need, and I'm not too concerned with figuring it out right now. I must be an idiot for turning this down time and again. Which is why I'm posting about it on LJ FA, right?

Yeah, so for the past week or two, we've been battling fleas again. It hasn't been nearly as bad as last year, but somehow more pervasive. We've combed the cat down to where he's got almost none left on him, and sprayed the basement with neem oil solution. So he's fine.

Now my brother seems to be having problems. I mean, I did too for a while (my ankles are covered in bites), but not anymore. We've vaccuumed my room (forgot to take the bag out, I hope that doesn't bite us in the ass), sprayed it with neem oil and lemon oil and alcohol and set up flea traps and turned the AC on (how the fuck can they survive with it on?) and he's still getting bit. I'm willing to believe my fiancee when she says they're probably just hatching on him now, because it doesn't seem to matter where he is when he finds them on himself.

Me, I just kind of don't give a fuck at this point. But my mother is freaking out. Which is why I'm posting this. We're considering stepping up the attack to flea bombs, but it seems like no matter what we do, it's always the wrong thing, or in the wrong place, or less than what we should be doing. It was the same way last year. I thought we were done with this. Shit sucks.

So yeah, if you didn't notice (and I don't think anyone did, but don't fret), I streamed my guitar practice from about 7:30-9 PM tonight. The first twenty minutes or so consisted of me signing up for Livestream, then finding out that A) it doesn't have a chat, and B) you have to have an account to just watch shit, which isn't cool.

So I switched to ustream since I already had an account there. I had to make another account anyway and the chat never loaded, but IT WAS FUN. I had a grand total of four people watching, all of them bronies, and I kept track of the conversation in the Derpyhooves.com chatroom. I play, or tried playing, every song in my songbook, some of them twice.

My Trixie song went over well, even though I can't play it. Come to think of it, I can't hardly play anything.

So I'm gonna make this a weekly thing, probably Monday evenings/nights. I'll practice during the week so I suck less and try adding another song each week, so I don't have to play them more than once. I need to get some lyrics up in this bitch, too.

I do not claim to be anything like "good", "musical", "talented" or "in tune", but I can at least promise to try my best and play some songs. Somewhat.

Anyway, let me know if you'd be interested, and also what time works good for you. Figure, about an hour at a time. I don't have a set practice schedule (lol), but I usually try in the early evening, EST.

It's no secret that I am an enormous attention horse. What I don't get is not only do I really enjoy showing off things that I've done, but also things I've inspired. Is it weird to get that vicarious thrill of being able to say, "Oh, I totally came up with that idea" or "Hey, you know I'm the one who said that, right?"

On TV, when they present the sponsors for a show, what do they usually say? "This production was brought to you by," that sort of thing.

I lost my job yesterday.

Why? Because they're closing the store.

It's that second part that makes no sense to me. That bookstore's been there for 75 years, it's a staple of the business community in this town, and what's most infuriating is that a dozen people are out of a job, with no explanation. I read in the paper today that nothing's been said to anyone, not the employees, not the management, not the Chamber of goddamn Commerce. Just, "Sorry, we're closed forever lol".

All I know, from my end, is that the guy who owned the store (it was named after his family) died two years ago, and his brother (who owns another, somewhat unrelated store in southern Ohio) bought it in May. That's been the only change. When I got the bad news call yesterday at 4 PM, my manager said something about developers, but I wasn't really paying attention.

Life is interesting. This is my chance to go somewhere now, so I'll be job searching/looking at college more seriously/filing for unemployment/maybe trying to get published. I'm almost glad I hadn't been working for the last week, because now it's just business as usual.
