Hey everyone, this is Axel. I am making this note on behalf of Kay. If you follow Kay on DA, then you may have already read her journal update regarding her health, if not, I will simple post the contents here for you guys. It was mostly meant for DA, but she asked me to post it here as well.



Hello friends and followers of BBA,

I am so sorry for my long silence. I see so many kind and supportive messages left for me. I really hope I didn't worry anyone too badly. You are so sweet to care about my wellbeing and for that I thank you with my whole heart.

I have been struggling so very hard to keep my head above water. In such a state of fear and panic, my sole focus has been on survival. I have been unable to come on to DA to post an update, despite the important role that working on this project plays in my life.

As you may have surmised, my condition has drastically worsened since my last update. You may also recall in August 2017 I made a similar journal entry, putting the comic on hiatus while I tended to my severe health crisis. I have a very aggressive disease that I worked hard over the past 2 years to get into a "remission"-like state, so that I could function normally.

All in all, 2018 was a good year. Especially starting in May of 2018, I really started to get back to living as normal and functioning human being with very minimal daily suffering. The last few months of 2018 were nearly perfect. I found within myself a whole, spirited person again rather the ghost I'd been living as.

Unfortunately, at the beginning of 2019, something went wrong and it all began to fall apart. Slowly at first, and then rapidly.

I just want to say that I miss you, and I am working hard, to fight this again and get my life back. So desperately I want to do be able to do again the things I enjoy.

Remember that post from August 2017. Because I was very sick, and I came back from that. And I am that sick again, maybe even sicker now but I was able to come back before. I think, I hope, I can do it again.

Thank you so very much for the wishes you leave me, and for your continued support through the tumultuous times Ive had over the past couple years.

I love you, and I love what we have spent years making together in the form of the BBA.

Please enjoy your summer for me. Appreciate and take care of your health. It's amazing what we take for granted...

As you may have noticed there is has been some small delays in Friday uploads. Team members have been traveling and still are.

There were will be some more delays and most likely no update for the next couple of weeks.

I had no idea so many people were still active on FA. I've really neglected this site because i constantly forget my password and have problems with the password reset. But I think we're in order now...!

Im crossposting this from DA to let you know what's going on with the BBA reboot. What i have posted yesterday is the first page of an 8-page preview scene.

We will be posting pages every other monday (next: oct 20)

Once the preview scene is finished you might notice some downtime as we may take a few weeks to build up a buffer of pages for the main story arc. I got a little behind my desired schedule after Anya but I am still are shooting for early 2015 to post the beginning of the story. January would be ideal, but I dont want to promise until i can be absolutely sure it's doable. Im not 100% full time on BBA - I am working on an ancient-rome themed PC strategy game with my fiance. He was the lead designer on Civ V, and so he really loves making strategy games and kickstarted his new project over a year ago which Fable and i are doing art for. So thats the main thing we are working on. But there is lots of time for BBA and Im working on it every day. I just spend AGES on every page...im sure you guys who have made comic pages know how that goes...!

Ok, soooo we've been working on something over the past year. I was trying to keep this under wraps until Beta but, I need some help. :)

In my (humble) opinion, this game is majorly awesome. It embodies everything I was looking for in an online game! I just need help paying the programmers some money up front for all the work they have already done and have yet to do. A lot of the money I make off of figurine sales is going toward paying for the game... but I was wondering, if any of you were interested in helping me out.

Here's how it works. This site: https://www.fundable.com/groupactio.....-22.4163830762 has a thing where you can pledge via paypal X dollars. You check out through paypal but you don't end up getting charged X until the fundraiser goal is met. If i dont end up getting thye pledge goal in 24 days then, you don't end up paying anything.

Working title: The Blackblood Alliance Online Game. (not the final title!)

Our Goal: Create and release a BBA-based video game to the online public with the help of your donations!

About the Game: The game downloads to your Windows PC and can connect via the internet to other online players. It will be the first online game to blend text-based role-playing with a unique combat system (and many other features) involving your own customizable interactive characters.

What will make our game cool: You and your friends can each take on the role of a wild animal - direwolf, blackblood, fox, or sabrecat (more species coming in updates) that you completely design. You choose a class and can interact with others as you fight, hunt, explore, roleplay, level up and socialize! In future updates, you'll be able to stake your own territory, have your own den and host private RP sessions, decorate it with unique items - maybe even breed! The only limits are what we can afford to accomplish with the programmers' time and resources!

Progess so far: We have licensed an engine from Valen Games and have integrated it with other code - we're just working on adding different functionality for our purposes. We need to still make sure the game plays online, allows people to design and create their own unique looking characters, integrate item support, and track statistics, combat and leveling up. This is not a simple game! Our programmers have many hours of work on their plate and we need help paying them for their time and effort!

How you can help: Donate to the project to help pay for costs associated with licensing tools and paying for programming time! Each of 10 $100 increments will be used to pay programmers to help accomplish very specific milestones (aka progress points) in the development cycle of the game. This may not pay for all their time and effort, but they will be valuable incentives to show that we care and we will support and appreciate their help!

All contributors will receive access to the game developer's blog, which will begin soon.
All Contributors will get access to a high resolution download of exclusive Blackblood Alliance desktop Wallpaper!

My name's Kay and I'm moving over from DA. How are you guys?

I just got back from Anthrocon, and thats where I learned of FA. I will be attending Midwest Furfest in the fall. Furries are cool!

Here I'll be posting my and E. Siegel's graphic novel in progress. We have 23 pgs completed (10-12 need serious revamping so, I will have those up shortly) and at 26 pages we will be publishing the first issue through Fox Knight Publishing.
