So... got a lot of art to post
Posted 7 years agoHaha, so I've accumulated quite the back-log of artwork that I need to post.
Hope everyone can appreciate the incoming flood of artwork. It's a mix of work that I've done and a whole bunch of gift art and commissioned art pieces.
Enjoy! ^..^

Swift Dragon Updates!
Posted 10 years agoThat's right, there's been a bit of a gap since the last set of updates, so there's a few of them all at once this time. :)
but head on over to my project page on FA and check them out, I'm getting a lot closer to completing the head. (And hopefully in time for TFF next weekend!... lots of assembly to do between now and then)

MFF 2014 / Evacuation Con 2014
Posted 11 years agoSo coming back from MFF now, sitting in the airport and contemplating all that went on. I realized that I seem to still need the positive opinions of others and find myself discouraged when folks don't come by my table to see what I have and what I'm up to.
However, I also was able to see just how much some of my fridge just want to BE with me because of who I am. They didn't care so much about what I was doing, but that I was THERE. this is one of the biggest reasons i go to these conventions.
To say that this was a convertion of "shifted plans" would be a bit of an understatement as late Saturday night, around 2am, someone set off an intentional gas device in the hotel and the whole place had to be evacuated... And with the final count of the con that means 4600 people or more! We couldn't grab coats or anything as we were evacuated across the street... Some people didn't even have shoes on for the cold cold Chicago night. Thankfully, after about a half hour of being out there we were all moved into the convention center where there was a dog show storing their dog, so it was heated and warm. For the next hour and half we had no idea what was really happening beyond a possible gas leak or bomb or something dealing with chlorine. We all (yes, all 4600 of us) gathered in the center and started chattering, drawing, playing whatever portable games we had on hand or trying to sleep on the concrete floor. It was memorable to say the least. But finally, around 4am, we were let into the hotel again with the "all clear" and got to head to bed.. But it's hard to sleep when you've been so cold and your mind is racing.
Eventually exhaustion takes over and one sleeps.
There's been a lot to think about, and Praise the Lord myself and my friends are all doing alright. I sit in the airport waiting to head home.. And despite the issues that came up and the bitter cold outside, I still would love for those weekend to go on. I miss my friends already and I pray they have pleasant and uneventful trips back to their homes as well.

Swift Dragon Tech-Suit
Posted 11 years agoSo I've been working on a fun and BIG project of mine.
I'm expecting it to take somewhere around a year to finish, so these are the early stages of it.
The project is something I've dubbed the SwiftDragon. And it's kind of like a fur-suit but without any fur or anything fluffy or soft.
The SwiftDragon is a MegaMan X style Reploid (robot). And as-such, there are some fun electronics going into this wearable-project. I'm posting my progress bit-by-bit over on my youtube channel:
"Swift Dragon"

as well as my other FA account:

So feel free to check them out and give the accounts a follow/subscribe to keep up with what's going on. You might just like what you see ^..~

Some sad memories
Posted 11 years agoSo last year I had a bad split with a friend, it was one of those splits where you figure you'd still BE friends today if you hadn't said/done what was said/done and that you'd love to have them come back.
I don't suspect that they'll even see this journal but I feel that I need to state this anyway and say that I'm sorry things went the way they did, I'm sorry that I was a fool and not thinking clearly. It's a shame that things ended with such finality. I may never hear from this friend again and that kinda sucks as they were very sweet and while kinda stubborn they were fun to talk to.
If you're out there, Dragon's sorry.
And if you never read this... I'm still sorry and hopefully all lessons learned will at least keep me from making the same mistake with anybody else.
And to everyone else, thanks for letting me put this out there without flaming me.

So fed up I'm actually having to make one of these...
Posted 11 years agoFor those who know me know that I'm not normally one to complain, but I'm gonna make an exception here because some things are just getting too hold and I gotta put this out there.
I'm really starting to get tired of people trying to put blame on me for "not being around all that much".
If there's one thing that'll drive me away from you, its to have you come to me and complain how I either don't come around or how I'm not online as much as you'd like.
Look, I know you enjoy being close on me, but I can't be everything to all people all the time. I'm a mated dragon and my wife will always come first, I don't have to leave a message or sign off or put myself as away or anything if something comes up, that's a courtesy if I do so.
You haven't been forgotten, but I cannot and will not be your only source of entertainment.
No, I will not set myself as offline just because you don't like seeing me online when I'm not talking to you.
No, I will not drop all the things my RL life has going on just to spend time with you.
If we've had an argument/fight recently where very hurtful things were said at/about/to me, then don't expect me to be all sunshine and rainbows towards you. I forgive, yes, but I don't have to "just get over it". You're entitled to your opinions and feelings (as were made abundantly and vulgarly clear) and I'm also allowed to have mine. Take the time to build things up slowly and maybe realizing that certain hurtful subjects are kinda off-limits of teasing... just like you wouldn't poke someone's wound to try and tickle them~
I think what gets me the most is that of double-standards. I'm not allowed to do/act/feel/think a certain way, but other folks can. And many times, even when it's pointed out they still don't see that they ARE holding a double-standard. It's frustrating and it's immaturity.
NOW, this journal isn't aimed at everyone, but if you think you Miiight be on this list, then I'd suggest taking a good long look at yourself and see if maybe you have some maturing to do... you'd sure expect ME to grow up and be mature to you!
I'm about to start deleting/blocking folks upside their heads! to alleviate my own headache from dealing with all this~
To those who truly respect me, I love you all dearly and I thank you so very much for treating me like a real person and engaging me in good conversations, even ones where we don't agree!
You folks are the only reason I get online with IM clients at all.
I've said my peace, now I just gotta sit back and wait for all the complaints to come flaming back to me for speaking my mind~

Texas Furry Fiesta
Posted 11 years agoI have arrived! Come look for me. :)
MFF -Ahoy!
Posted 12 years agoSo it's fully official, we have the plane tickets and the hotel arrangement as well as the friend we're meeting up with who lives in the Chicago area.
With all plans finally finalized, this trip is officially a GO! ^..^
Padu and I will be flying out very early on Wednesday and meeting up with poprocks around noon-ish. we'll be leaving the Chicago area for her home since there's really no arrangements to stay in town and most of our other friends won't even be arriving until thursday.
We'll be away from the con on thursday unfortunately, but there's really nothing we can do about that since Poprocks works that day, but it means that we should be reachable online while she's away at work.
Friday early we'll head to the convention together and meet up with our awesome friend AgentGrimm who has most graciously offered us use of his room for the convention. <3
we'll be staying through sunday, so please feel free to catch me as I'd love to meet folks there.
Late sunday we'll head back to Poprock's house and chill with her through monday when we fly back down to Texas.
It's going to be an exciting trip and we're hoping to have a great time! ^..^
Rawr, see you there! <3

COmmission slots are open!
Posted 12 years agoI've opened up my current commission slots again since the folks who originally seemed interested appear to have backed out..
This means I'm free and ready for any new pics you'd like to commission me for.
I'm up for a lot of various things, so if you're not sure whether I'll take on your idea or not just feel free to send me a note and ask me!
Either way, a sure-fire way to see what I'll definitely draw will be to take a look at what I Fav on this site ^..~
Alrighty folks, hope to hear from ya soon!

Time for some updates!~
Posted 12 years agoAlrighty everyone, It's time I finally updated my FA page again. The move into our new place was great because we had some awesome friends here in San Antonio that dove in to help us move. MY wife and I are very greatfull. :3
Now, We also went to two conventions in the meantime! Ushicon and Texas Furry Fiesta. :)
Both conventions were great and we had a lot of fun with them both!
But most importantly, Some new commissions and art were gathered during these cons, especially at Furry Fiesta. ^..^
In fact, those of you who were at either of these cons, leave a comment about something you really enjoyed from the convention. :)
More info to come soon, TONS of photos were taken at both conventions and miiight be shared if I get enough requests to share. :3

My Turn to commission someone! :D
Posted 13 years agoSo lately i've been in the mood (and have the finances needed) to commission some of my favorite artists... trouble is that most of them are either quite full already or aren't taking commissions at this time. it's a bit... disappointing, but i will not discourage.
i've recently found a couple artist that i've watched that are in fact taking commissions, so i've placed an "order" with one and have already gotten affirmation that i'm on their list. ^..^
the artist in question here is Zoelycan.
For others interested in getting on their list, check out the Journal they've put up here:

A word on arting together
Posted 13 years ago"I say and insist that drawing in company is much better than alone, for many reasons. The first is that you would be ashamed of being seen among a number of draughtsmen if you are weak, and this feeling of shame will lead you to good study; secondly, a wholesome envy will stimulate you to join the number of those who are more praised than you are, for the praise of others will spur you on; yet another is that you can learn from the drawings of those who do better than yourself; and if you are better than the others, you can profit by contempt for their defects and the praise of others will incite you to further efforts. Birthday? Yep

Long Awaited Swift-Update
Posted 14 years agoWow! has it really been that long since i've last updated anything here?
well, then it's about time i do actually put something here to bring y'all up to speed. ^..^
first and fore-most i'm getting married. yep, married to this lovely lady right here
padunk
i'm very excited about this and a little nervous, though i'm only nervous about the money being spent on the wedding and not nervous about the relationship or big commitment i'm making.
it's a big step, to be sure, but it's more than worth it. i've been going through a lot of great resources lately to help get myself ready (or as "ready" as a guy can be. lol). the best one so far is a book called "His Needs, Her Needs: How to have an Affair-proof Marriage". if anyone out there is struggling in a relationship (marriage or not), i recommend this book!
the wedding itself is on October 8th (yes, october of this year. lol).
Over the past 7 months i've been dealing with a lot of stress, mostly from certain people around me and my own fear of rejection that i've carried around for many years. because i was so afraid of being rejected i did things to compromise myself in an attempt to hold onto certain friendships, and it wasn't right. it caused me to step back from people that truely matter in my life and pour too much energy into certain people who needed to take back-stage roles. it's also caused me to have so much stress that i couldn't work on artwork like i used to.
-on that note i'm very sorry to those i owe commissions to. they will still be done and they have not been forgotten, but please understand that if i can't get to them in the next couple weeks then it'll just be in late october (see above about the wedding to see why i might not be able to draw in the next couple weeks. lol) Actually, i haven't really been doing any artwork for myself either. only just this week have i finally started drawing things again.
i don't ever want to make my friends think that i'm uncaring or unappreciative of their friendship and kindness. you guys who truely care about me are a blessing and i probably don't thank you enough for it. i honestly don't know how many of my watchers will read this journal at all, and fewer still will read through this lengthy journal down to this point to see my "thank you" words... but i do, i thank you for being my friends and for letting me have a small piece of your life. :)

well, then it's about time i do actually put something here to bring y'all up to speed. ^..^
first and fore-most i'm getting married. yep, married to this lovely lady right here

i'm very excited about this and a little nervous, though i'm only nervous about the money being spent on the wedding and not nervous about the relationship or big commitment i'm making.
it's a big step, to be sure, but it's more than worth it. i've been going through a lot of great resources lately to help get myself ready (or as "ready" as a guy can be. lol). the best one so far is a book called "His Needs, Her Needs: How to have an Affair-proof Marriage". if anyone out there is struggling in a relationship (marriage or not), i recommend this book!

Posted 14 years agoFirst of all, let me start out by saying that I had a blast at the con! It was outstanding and I'm already looking forward to the next one. :)
To all those who shared a room with us, hope you guys enjoyed it as much as padu andi did.
just like anthrocon last year, padu got to sell some commissions in the artists' alley and pretty much mde back evrything she spent to go to the con in the first place. Lol
I was going to get a spot in the alley as we'll, but due to some complications in the process, I ended up not going for it. Maybe at AC I will though ;)
Got to hang out a bunch with my good buddy Furgeta
furgeta ! We kept missing at other cons or running out of time, but this con we got to enjoy several meals togethr as well as lots of drawing time. He's a great guy and I look forward to more hanging-outs in the future ^..^
And lastly, I have a new roomate! :D
One of my old buddies from the tub-chat, some of ya'll might know him:
dr-bored
He came out to th con and used that as a springboard to come out here to Brownwood,TX. Already he's gotten settled in and has a job lined up, so that's definitely great.
And in just under a week,
sullenlust is coming down to live with us here in texas too! :D I'm so excited! ^..^
Hehe, this dragon is collecting his furry friends. ^..~

New Years New York
Posted 14 years agoSo I'm on my way home from New York back to my warm and cozy state of Texas after getting to spend the new years weekend with some friends. :)
It was a great trip and I learned many things while I've been away, but now it is time to come home. My darling panda-pup is waiting for me and I've had to put a few things on hold. Even now I'm sitting in Chicago's Ohare intl. Airport as I type this, so I'm still not home yet. XP
To those whom I've made to wait because of my trip, I am sorry. But it should be worth the wait to everyone watching me since I'm getting my art groove back and will be posting some new works very soon. :)
Hope everyone had a fun and safe new years celebration.
