Wish you were here...
Posted 5 years agoIt is with a heavy heart that I am addressing the friends of Swiftfur. On Thursday August 20th some time in the early morning hours he passed away in his sleep. His passing has caught his family completely off guard.
He was my oldest brother, he was 17 when I came into the world, and I looked up to him as a child. He was everything a little brother could have hoped for and he did his best to bring happiness into my life. I owe him that much to tell his friends in the furry community that he's no longer with us. He was a kind and gentle person who kept his online life very private. I'm spending the next few days to reach out and let his furry friends know that he is no longer with us. To go at 49 doesn't seem fair to me: I only had the opportunity to know one side of him for a third of my life. If I had known that the last time I would speak to him was some mundane b.s. conversation, I would have given him a huge hug and have told him how much he meant to me. Now it's something I have to spend the rest of my time thinking about. From the friends I've spoken to on discord and messenger he was an amazing person who will be missed, and from the real-life side of his life, as his youngest brother he truly was an all-around amazing person. It's so hard to string thoughts together while I'm writing this, because I'm still in shock and grief.
The last thing I can do is share a song in tribute to him. He was a Pink Floyd fan. He had posters and t shirts and one that caught my attention the most when I was a child was a poster of the album Wish You Were Here; featuring the man shaking hands with another man whose burning.
So here's a cover of the original. I chose a cover because, like my brother, the original I'm doing this in homage to him:

Anyone interested in some 'Brian is not dead' theories?

Perhaps the title of this journal should have been 'How to get people to start watching a show that has clearly jumped the shark a long time ago'.
Exhibit 1. Brian's interest in the broken metal return pad. Who's to say he hasn't learned anything from being around Stewie since his birth?
Exhibit 2. The wooden return pad. Still in Stewie's backpack. It wasn't among the trashed parts of his time machine. I didn't see it in the trash compactor either.
Exhibit 3. Stewie's reaction to Brian's death. I'd have thought he'd be much more upset losing his best friend, but he moved on awfully quickly. And he didn't pursue the missing part to rebuild the time machine very hard either.
Exhibit 4. Vinny? A Soprano's reference, really? Seems like a good way to 'cut to black' in a future episode to get rid of him.
Exhibit the rest... Past episodes show that there can be multiple versions of both Stewie and Brian across time and even universes. Like the episode where they went 'back to the pilot'. Road to the Multiverse. Road to Vegas where 2 stewie's and 2 Brian's existed in the same time period, just different locations and circumstances.
In conclusion, I'd like to say that killing off Brian is just their way of seeing who's still watching. What I predict in future episodes is probably references to the movie, 'The Time Traveller's Wife'... Probably where we see a past Brian appear in a future beyond his lifetime. That might motivate Stewie to work harder on getting his buddy back to him.

Attention Handdraw Artists!

What's your favorite eraser? Currently I'm using one of those pentel white click-erasers with my pigma and microns, but I fear that it's taking up too much of the ink after I erase the stray lines and rough stuff. They seem softer than a standard pink eraser, and it's nice to be able to get in and hit areas that I may have missed during initial erasures. I've heard of like a putty style eraser, but I've never used one before. The tan bricks seem to crumble easily... So any suggestions?
Also, what's the deal with blue pencils? Do stray lines not get picked up by a scanner?

Please patch up what ever holes you've got and try to be a more reliable site. I'm not bitching much, this is to be expected from a site that touts a fanbase such as yours. I don't want to hear "we're privately run, so we can have all the issues we want to have, and you can't complain." Privately run or not, you can't run a decent business without decent coding, you don't need to have your paw out asking for donations for your swiss cheese security.
I'm just saying.
Let the flames begin.
I want my journal comments back.

Posted 15 years agoSeems like this new Butch Hartman show just came out and there's already Kitty Katswell rule 34 art on FA :3
I have to admit, Kitty is damn cute though! The show seems to be pretty good, although for some reason (and this started with the newer Fairly OddParents episodes) that the characters have to be amped up and moving, yelling and screaming all their lines, especially Dudley.
Is this what they have to do to hold a kids attention span these days? It's no Catillac Cats ...although maybe a pic of Cleo and Kitty together would be hawtness!

Posted 15 years agoI know that this has been a particularly wet summer and the weeds and high grass in our neighborhood has been growing out of control. That does not give you the right to break into my garage and steal my $300 26' Craftsman weed trimmer. The way you made it look like it went "missing" was brilliant. You could have just asked me if you could borrow it, I wouldn't have minded loaning it to you. Hey, you could've had my old one, it's been sitting outside for the last 2 years in my driveport next door. It runs just fine. You passed completely over my brand new Schwinn mountain bike and my $400 RC airplane. Oh, and I have a new snowblower too. The note is from the user
sh0tty and contains a link that looks legit in the note but redirects to "feraffinity.t35.com"
Here's the exact language of the note -

Beware, I don't know where the link goes, but it looks like a furaffinity page that shows you as being signed out. So they are phishing for usernames and passwords, I think.

Posted 15 years agoFireworks are banned in Spokane. Even the safe and sane ones... However there's a town up on the west plains called Airway Heights that's located on a reservation. I go up there, buy a few and set them off.... so does everyone else! Here's a video of the chaos on last year's 4th of July

Posted 15 years agoI'm still here, and I haven't left SL, either... just because I decided to stop renting the land I never used in Jaguar Valley and Wolf Valley doesn't mean I quit SL... It just means that it didn't make sense to rent out space that was never occupied by me except for an hour or 2 a week I was on for the tune of $60 a month...
I'll still pop on SL from time to time and who knows, if things get better maybe I'll spend more time on there... But currently my finances would be better used in paying my local bills... I don't have any malice or unhappiness for anyone, I've felt better than I have in months. I've written more of my book, I just need to type it up in .doc format so I can submit it :P

Cubby Halloween Pic Update
Posted 16 years agoJust another notice on the progress of the halloween pic I'm doing...
Background is 85% done... More will be done as I add characters.
babybunnygirl as a mermaid is 100% pencilled into the scene.
jrspaniel as a mummy is 100% pencilled into the scene.
kandipanda as Raggedy Ann is 100% pencilled into the scene.
siriusthewolfhound as a vampire is 95% pencilled into the scene (mostly done, researching how to make him look more vampire-y lol)
ryone as a witch is 80% pencilled into the scene.
darkpawcamui as a faerie is not started yet but is planned to be next after Ryone ^_^
and I know where I'm going to put
mmm-dumpling (zombie) and 
lowlow64 (skeleton)... this is turning out very cool and cute! :D
I was gonna try to work myself into the scene as well, but not sure there's gonna be any room left for another character when I'm done! O.o we'll see I guess :P lol
