Hey! If you're leaving FA because of the buy out by IMVU...
Posted 10 years agoI'll be unfollowing your account. Might as well "clean house" if you're going to jump ship.
I don't have a Weasel... I don't have a DA... I don't have an account on SoFurry or Inkbunny either.
I'm here until here doesn't exist or I fade into obscurity.
My art work isn't good enough for anyone to steal, my stories aren't of a suitable nature that any "normal" person wouldn't recoil if they read them, and everything else is either photographs or copies of commissions I've had done.
As the saying usually goes..."Leaving the Fandom? See ya in two weeks."

This needs to happen! Dr Who Role Play Group Pic
Posted 10 years agoI was hit with a sudden brain storm this afternoon that I need to find a group of Furs (Doesn't have to be Babyfurs) and an artist to do a group pic where we're doing a Dr. Who role play in a city park, joking around playing "Red Light; Green Light" with a couple statues like they were Weeping Angels...Only one of them is.
We could have a couple furs dressed up as their favorite Doctors and the others like Companions. One group finds out they're playing with a real Angel, while all but one of the other group are still in "role play" mode as theirs isn't moving. One of the companion characters in this group happens to have looked at the other group and notices that their statue is moving and is tapping the Doctor they're with on the shoulder to get his attention.
Say 8 characters total plus another to play the Weeping Angel and one more to represent the other statue? 10 Slots maybe?
I dunno, but this needs to happen.
*Hugs*

First Night Pittsburgh Furry Frolic! 12/31/2014
Posted 11 years agoWhat: First Night Pittsburgh Furry Frolic
Where: Westin Convention Center Hotel, 3rd Floor, Crawford Room, Downtown Pittsburgh, PA
When: December 31, 2014 from 6pm until TBD
Website: First Night Pittsburgh http://www.firstnightpgh.org/
PAFurry Forums Link: http://www.pa-furry.org/node/7805/f.....fursuit-frolic
Well the event is a go so please put it on your calendar and consider joining the fun and frivolity of this unique cultural event!
The Parade coordinators and I have been in contact for several weeks and they just let me know that they are unable to secure "Green Room" space for us. I am in the process of entering into a contract with the Westin to secure the Crawford Room again for hang out space and fursuit lounge. I'll book the room from 5pm to 2am so we can hang out a little longer.
Of course we need fursuiters and costumers, but more than that we need furs out of costume to join us to carry the banner and act as handlers for us. Yes, Silaria and I are working on having a banner to carry to identify us and wish Pittsburgh a "Happy New Year from the Furries!"
Last year folks were looking for stuff to do after the parade and well, Sil and I weren't prepared for that. We've given it some though and were thinking having a coffee maker or two to brew up some coffee and hot water for cocoa. Maybe bring in some cookies and stuff to snack on after the parade is over. We're also going to ask the Westin to set up a few round tables in one half of the Crawford Room so folks can sit around, socialize or maybe play some games like Cards against Humanity or what have you, if you don't want to use your First Night pins to take in what that event has to offer. We're not partial to providing alcohol at the events we coordinate. Besides, there are plenty of places in the Westin and downtown where you can find that if that's what you're looking for.
The cost of this space last year was $300 + $81 in taxes. I'm not sure what the charge will be this year, however I expect we'll have a bigger turn out this year than we did last year. So to help defray the cost of the space, my wife and I will be asking for folks to chip in $15, collected that evening. We're flexible though. Last year we worked with a few folks to defray costs by bringing food and stuff. We can't do that for everyone, but we'll review it on a case by case basis.
So please RSVP. I need to give the Parade Coordinators a head count of how many to expect by December 21 so they'll have First Night pins for everyone who wants one! If you're not interested in getting a First Night pin so you can participate in the events and activities happening as part of that event, then don't let the deadline inhibit you from attending. Worse comes to worse, the pins are a $10 value and can be purchased that night if you change your mind.
Thanks!

Wampum Christmas Parade - Dec 6, 2014
Posted 11 years agoWhat: Wampum PA Holiday Parade
Where: Meet at the Old School Gymnasium, Main St. Extension, Wampum, PA 16157 (Come in Clyde St. Parking on site)
When: Saturday, December 6, 2014 @ 11:30am.
Parade line up is on Wampum-New Castle Road. Step off is at ~1pm.
The parade is about a mile long walk around the town of Wampum and begins and ends at the same spot. Of course we can use as many Fursuiters as can make it, but more importantly, we need a few people out of costume to act as handlers/photographers.
After the parade we take a breather, then go out and entertain the kids while they wait in line to see Santa Clause. Then a few of us normally get together and head out for an early supper somewhere nearby.
We've been participating in this parade for over 5 years now and they are so happy to have us as part of their event. Please check your calendars and RSVP here or to blueshepp(AT)gmail.com so we can get a good head count.

Raising $$ for Canine Cancer Research! Bark & Bowl Pgh
Posted 11 years agoHello friends!
Just a reminder a group of local Pittsburgh fursuiters have registered a team to participate in raising money for Canine Cancer Research at this year's Bark and Bowl event being held on November 14th, from 7-10pm, at AMF Noble Manor Lanes in Carnegie!
Our team is aptly named, "Paws for a Cause" and it's being led by Goku, Sebastian, Manick and myself, and we're looking forward to having a blast and building more positive PR locally for the Furry Fandom!
But, we need your help to get our alley! We need to raise at least $500 to secure a lane and we're asking for your help and support to help us meet that goal and help take down Canine Cancer.
Please consider visiting our team page on the Bark and Bowl website, http://barkandbowl.com/pittsburgh/p.....ause-p-12.html There you'll find a link to "Donate" to our team's goal.
I'm running a Ladder Auction for a Babyfur/Diaperfur story commission in an effort to raise funds for this cause.
Ever little bit helps be it $10, $5 or even $1 so please consider helping us out.
If you can't help monetarily, please consider linking our page to your Facebook or Twitter or what-have-you. If you're a talented artisan, maybe you can help by donating the proceeds of a piece of art or craft to our goal like I have?
Lastly, if you want to put the Bark and Bowl Pittsburgh event on your calendar, we'd love for you to come down and cheer us on!
Thanks so much for your support!
*hugs*

Story Commissions!
Posted 11 years agoHey folks!
I wanted to take a moment to talk about this thing called "Story Commissions."
I DO THEM!!
I'M OPEN!!
I've listed my Prices under my Commissions Tab here on FA which seems about average from what I saw when I updated it about a year ago now.
Most of you know my stories and what I'm capable of creating. Do I need to create more pricing options for story length?
Am I just unapproachable or just "off the radar," so to speak?
Try me.

Post-AC Pittsburgh
Posted 11 years agoIt's amazing how quiet and surreal Pittsburgh is after Anthrocon is over.
The week of Anthrocon, there's a gradual build up of energy, excitement and...furry magic, that culminates in three days of OMG! Then...quite suddenly, it's all taken away as each of you go your own way, leaving the few of us who live here to keep the embers of that magic burning for another year.
Your absense is palpable; but each of you contributed to the energy that enveloped the city for three days, and for that, I thank you.
Be safe where-ever your paths take you, live each day to the fullest, do not let sadness or remorse hold you down for long, and embrace joy and happiness every chance you can!

Plans for Anthrocon
Posted 11 years agoHey folks! Just a heads up on my plans for Anthrocon this year.
I should be at the con between the hours of 9am and 4:30p, then home to have dinner and take care of the dogs, then plan to be back around 7:30 until my panels are over for the day.
I've Scheduled myself into a lot more games in my track this year than I have in year's passed because the track needed a bit of additional support as game hosts were late in responding back or unable to attend this year for whatever reason. Table-top gaming room is 411 - 412 again like it was last year.
From 10a to Noon Friday - Sunday I'll be hosting Looney Labs Games and Demos. Sunday will be all GIANT PYRAMID GAMES Sunday's game will be on the 3rd Floor atrium space in the DLCC, adjacent to the escalators going up to the Video and Table-top Gaming Rooms.
I'm also running Settlers of Catan from 1-3p on Friday and 2-4p on Sunday in the Gaming Room, and Are You a Werewolf on Friday from 10p-Midnight in the Somerset Room in the Westin Hotel.
I've also set aside time in the Gaming Room for my "Young at Heart" friends to come by and play some Kids Games, put puzzles together or color. You'll see that under "Kids' Games & Activities and they'll be Friday from 3-5p, Saturday from 8 - 10p, and Sunday from 1-3p. We'll see how that works out and how well received it is.
Due to some unforseen circumstances with the Puppetry Track I may be pitching in to help with that track also. Notably the Friday and Saturday night Puppetry Shows.
I think I left myself time to participate in the Fursuit Parade, but I don't have a lot of free time between panels and stuff to make daily treks out in the con space like I have in the past. I'm gonna be hard pressed to get in my requisit 6 hours of suiting time over the course of this convention.
I'm trying not to think much about Anthrocon yet so I can keep focussed on work. Anthrocon IS NOT a social convention for me. If we happen to cross paths, count yourself as lucky. I planned the Kids' Games & Activities as an opportunity to meet some of my Babyfur friends as I no longer get to the parties anymore.
So there it is.

Note to Commissioners...Temporary Delays.
Posted 11 years agoI just wanted to let folks know that there will be a delay of about 2 weeks on all current commissions while I deal with getting rid of this poison ivy/sumac. I don't want bursting blisters of poisonous fluids contaminating the paper or smearing the line work and coloring on the individual pieces.
Because of this I am putting a hold on taking further commissions until I get my queue cleared...or at least down to one or two left to do.
Thanks for your understanding and well wishes.
