I can't believe I haven't heard of this cartoon series until a few weeks ago... Well, most likely because it's based on a card game, and I keep a healthy distance from those things.

Chaotic looks like almost as if it was designed by furries, for furries. Or maybe the marketing gurus of today realized how much buyer potential furries have? I noticed that more and more of the new generation of kids are into anthropomorphic characters - often without realizing they are furries.

And Chaotic has a plethora of well-designed furry characters - about 75% of the Overworlders are anthro mammals or birds, the Mipedians are all lizardmen/women, and even the underworlders have the occasional anthropomorphic characters. So, I was surprised how little furry art the series has generated. Sure, there are Rule34 pics of Intress (mostly her) and Takinom, and the mandatory gay porn of Chaor or Toborn (shudder)... but there are so many sexy furry femmes and good-looking males in this series, just waiting to be paired up!

So, me being the self-proclaimed 'furry artist for obscure characters', I decided to draw these guys and gals. First pic is close to being finalized!

As for the cartoon itself.. it kinda explains why this cartoon is so obscure, you cannot even find a torrent/rapidshare upload of it, just Youtube. It sucks. And it's one of those " it could have been so great" shows. We have a very interesting world (Perim), populated with four warring tribes - the noble and peacefull Overworlders, the war-like, demonic conqueror Underworlders, the desert-dwelling isolationist Mipedians and the hive-minded, expansionist Danians. Throw in some magic, time travel, and a mysterious Lovecraftian underwater fifth tribe, the M'arillians, into the mix, and you got a great premise... ruined by those "pesky kids". Because yeah, it's a show based on a card game like Yugi-oh, and thus, instead of focusing on the interesting Perim characters, we get kids who are content with playing their silly game instead of exploring this world.

Even the concept irks me... the Chaotic players are like "Hi guys, I know you are fighting a 4-pronged epic life-and-death war here, but can I just scan you so I can use you in a game we play for fun? You won't even notice us!" Geez. If I was a Perim creature, I'd have hunted down those kids long ago and barred them from entering our world. Especially Peyton. He needs to die a slow, painful death...

And although the show has some good storylines, for every episode like "Triple Threat", "CHaor's Commandos" or "From the Deep", there are three more where nothing else happens but the kids fighting in the Battledrome. Or even worse, episodes like "Earth to Kaz" or "Peytonic Adventure"... It's even more irritating because we get started on some epic storyline (M'arillian invasion, Hea'rring kidnapped, travel to ancient Perim) and then after the cliffhanger... WHOOOP, we forget these storylines, and have 3 episodes of Battledrome fights or quests to scan some new creature or battlegear ("Buy our new cards, kids!"). Boooring. I guess they wanted to copy Naruto or other silly anime where nothing else happens but fights after fights...

So, too bad for this show, but hey, at least it gave us some greatly designed furry characters, yes? I was on sick leave for a week, so I spent some time downloading the episodes and taking screencaps for reference... And will soon issue to you my very first free art request option, Chaotic style! Stay tooned!

I'm well-known for drawing porn of cartoon characters mostly, so I thought I'd upload some of my art - and it gets taken down with reason Not Rule 34... Huh? How so?

I can understand if they never heard of Dragon Pink, or Jungle Show... but my Titan AE or Diablo II art gets taken down regulary as well. And I have no-one to contact as I never see who does this. Kinda irritating. In fact, VERY irritating.

I got lucky and managed to get for real cheap two Flash Gordon Lizard Women toys... considering they are from 1979 (almost as old as I am!) they are pretty close representations of the on-show lizard chicks!

Of course, as you can see, the colors do not really match... so a repaint will coming soon.

Swift

I just learned of these awesome toy a few weeks ago - I can't believe I never saw any picture or kitbash of them here on FA! - and of course, set out to get them - which was harder then I thought as they are pretty rare, even on Ebay.

But I got lucky, and I got all 6 of them for a meager 30$ on an auction - they arrived yesterday, and man... they are the penultimate anthro toys. :) I mean, never knew Stan Winstone was a furry fan, but these toys are pretty much aimed at us... who else?

Of course, my favourite is Kaela - she is a perfect cheetah, lean and agile, but also pretty feminine. And her face is very well sculpted, both heads - though I prefer her calm head. I might get another Kaela to kitbash her into Swifty, my anthro femme cheetah fursona.

I also kept Zynda (a very sexy lynx femme, great armor and weapons too) and Sabyr (he's simply great and has a great face-sculpt, sabertooth toys are rare anyhow) - but I'll most likely sell Tare and Tswana. I just don't like their heads. And Nakuru is a bit... uninteresting.

At any rate, if anyone knows of any fan art of Kaela or the rest of the Realm of the Claw figures, could you drop me a link? (I really wish FA had a search function).

Yep, now I can't wait to play with the game... this looks like it'll even be better then Titan Quest, at least graphically it is...

Granted, we'll most likely have to wait 2 more years to see the game, knowing Blizzard.

And, it looks like my beloved Pantherwomen will be in DiabloIII as well! In the description of the Khazra - finally the famous Goatmen got an official name - Abd al-Hazir mentions:

"The khazra (colloquially known as "goatmen") were long thought to be natural inhabitants of our world, akin to the lacuni "panther-men" tribes of the desert and mountain regions, but I have recently discovered evidence revealing that nothing could be further from the truth. The history of the khazra is much more complex and disturbing than has been previously imagined."

Sooo... they are called the Lacuni! And since DiabloIII too will feature a desert town, (not Lut Gholien, it's called Caldeum) there is hope we'll see the four-breasted kitties re-done in gorgeus 3D render. Can't wait for that...

I also hope my other favourite monsters, the Death Knights from Diablo I and the Fetishes (especially their funny shamans) will make it!

I was on holiday and almost didn't believe my eyes when I saw it on a shelf in a SPAR market! For only 990 Ft (around 6 $), it was a bargain... and I was lucky because it seems that one was the last in stock.

Animalympics DVD

The DVD cover is simple, it features Kit Mambo and Rene Frommage and very tiny pics of various other athletes. The DVD itself shows Kit and Rene, too.
The quality is pretty good - the languages are English and Hungarian, subtitles are in Hungarian too.
There is a very interesting extra - an interview (from 2007) with director Steven Lisberger. He points out a lot of intersting info, for example that Roger Aller designed Kit Mambo, the lioness marathon runner, and he later went on to direct the Lion King. Also, how the 1980 boycott of the Russian olympics affected them - originally, Animalympics was supposed to air in small parts between the olympic events. But since the ABC channel didn't even air the olympics, Animalympics was broadcast on its own.

For any Hungarian furry artist/fan, this movie is a must-have for your collection - no matter what anthro animal you like, you can find them all in this flick, from lobsters to giant killer whales, from turkeys to cheetahs, from poodles to falcons... Get it while you can!

I bet since SPAR and INTERSPAR are pretty much the same company, you can get them in both places. I'll keep you briefed if I find any other store that sells the DVD!

Well I'm done for a time with skinmodding, back to drawing for me - I already have the Diablo II comic's third page drawn and ready to be inked...

But until then, for those who were interested, here is the last modification of my Maenad skinpack. I added the Sorceress skin in V 3.0, and corrected their 'genital hair' in 3.1 to look more realistic (well if there is such a thing with a mythological creature.). Hope you like it and use it!

Nude Maenad skin 3.1

Once again, most of the credit should go to amgoz1 for making the Maenad PC mod! (found here: http://www.titanquest.net/forums/mo.....eed-ideas.html)! I hope he doesn't mind me upgrading it!

I made some upgrades to the mod, most importantly, adding animations that let you dual-wield! Took me some time to get the attack speed right, it's still not perfectly the same as a normal PC's but not as unbalanced as was before. See below for the list of changes and additions!

To run, download it and unzip it into the DocumentsMy GamesTitan Quest - Immortal Thronecustommaps directory!
Then, run the game, and go into 'Custom Quests' ! Choose 'Maenad PC Mod' and start! You'll be put into the character selection/generation screen, start a new female character, you'll get a maenad - various toga colors equal to various maenad skins, courtesy of amgoz1! Each time you exit the game and want to play with your Maenad, you'll have to start your play by applying the custom quest mod the above way!

IMPORTANT!!! NEVER buy any tunic/toga color paint from a merchant and apply it!!! Your skin will be ruined (changes to that of the human female PC but in a messed up way) and I found no way to change it back!

LIST OF UPGRADES:

-Animations:
-Added Dual Wield animations (idle anim is of the Maenads, attack anim is human PC anim, so the tail doesn't sticks out like an inanimate straight rod... )
-Added special attack animations for every weapon attack type (Colossus, Lethal Strike, Hew, etc...) mostly using female PC animation but sometimes Maenad anim where it was possible. Some of these I tried out and they work, but since my char is only Level 10., I couldn't test all of them. If you encounter any problems, any feedback is welcome!
-Added the crouching pose of the archer Maenads as the 'long idle' anim for all weapon types - I think it looks cool.
-Added fidget animations, like the female PC tossing up her weapon in the air or the turning back anim.
-Added the missing respawn animations for all weapon type anims! Even died once on purpose to test it and it works!
-Added buff anims for casting auras and enchantments
-Added the unarmed attack where she throws both hands forward as the offensive spell casting animation - I think it looks cool.

Gameplay
-The Maenad's attack speed was much faster then a normal PCs, due to the unarmed base attack animation's longer speed. I tinkered a lot and calculated this, tried that, finally managed to get the attack speed to the same level as a normal PC's of the same stats. However, one thing isn't working - on normal Dual Wield characters, the attack speed gets reduced by 10% when you equip your second weapon. With Maenads, I could only make the reduction to 1%... If someone knows how to fix it, let me know. Otherwise, let's call it a racial trait like Dark Elves being proficient in dual-wielding...

Sounds
-Added more Maenad sounds to attacks, getting hit, dying, they even sometimes kick in when you're idle for too long.

Back when Diablo II came out, I was there, extracting the graphics of the Pantherwomen (Huntresses, Saber Cats) and editing the pixels to look nude... Didn't really work... So, no wonder when I first played TQ, I immediatly fell in love with those sexy Maenads. And now finally had the tools to make them look even more sexy!

Well, some of you probably already have seen the rough WIP version of this in other thread.... I've tweaked it a few times (well, lots of times actually) now I'm quite happy with it, so here it is! It's the first skin or texture modification I've ever done, so comments and criticism is welcome!

I'll do more Maenad skins - these are planned:

-Regular Maenad skin with leopard skin bikini showing parts of boobs
-Maenad Huntress skin, naked (since they already wear armor ingame) with war paint
-Maenad Sorceress/Alchemist skin, totally new clothing (toga) with more of the glowing tatoos they wear on their necks/faces (bare-chested and normal versions)
-I'd consider doing mods for the Rogues/Stalkers if someone knows how to turn their transparency effect off - it'd quite useless otherwise.

These'll be done... much later. Right now my eyes are almost oozing out from the Photoshop work, so I'll rest them for a while.

At last, someone took the time to digitalise this great movie... :) Quality is not too good but hey, I have been looking for this movie for years now... I have it on tape, but only in german language... Too bad they never released it on DVD.

If you haven't seen it yet, do it - a must see! Perhaps the best 'furry' movie out there. :)

A fun fact, btw... some of the sportsman/women in the movie are hungarian like myself. Janos Brutschnekel, the boxing bull who loses to the kangaroo is one, and also two of fencers - Duke Laszlo "Quicksilver" Chardas, and of course the lovely falcon lady, Contessa, who wins the gold (just like Hungarian female fencers ususally won it, for many years). Man I should really draw Contessa some time, but I suck at drawing birds...

For those who are curious about the characters I draw, check it out... Silver Brumby was an average quality cartoon, with not too good plots, but it had pretty nice graphics and interesting characters, plus, apart for My Little Ponies (shudders...) I think this was the only show where the main characters were horses.

I recently saw the Silver Brumby movie, and got to read a few of Eliyen Mitchells' original books and I must say I prefer the animated universe... the books are much closer to reality, but by the end of the series there pretty much no-one from the starting cast is alive.

A sorozatról annyit hogy elég átlagos ausztrál rajzfilm, az animáció sem különösebben szép, de engem anno eléggé megihletett, mint a képeimen láthatjátok, hisz majd az összes főszereplőt többször is megrajzoltam antro formában.

Well, I hardly ever go to my own userpage, but I did recently and saw that I have 795 pageviews... :) Whoo-hoo! :)

Anyhow... just letting my watchers known I've begun working on a '1000 views' pic. Well more like, I know what I want to draw for that theme... it'll feature Swift with all my 'regular' female characters (by regular I mean I drew her more then once, though there will be exceptions).

It's gonna take long to finish, but I like drawing multiple characters. :) So don't view my art too often or I might end up with 1000 views and no '1000 views' pic drawn yet... ;)
