Ideas
Posted 15 years agoThere's been some thoughts tossing about in my brain lately, but I haven't had the gumption to commit them to anything, especially when I have a queue of commissions that take priority. Uh, so I'll just write them down here so they're out of my system, at least for a little while.
One started with this discussion with Sedric about my obsession with teapots that borders on the fetishistic. I think about teapots in the same way that people think about shoes. I have, uh, a bit of a collection going. Anyway, it made me think of some androgynous anthropomorphic teapot, with a sumptuously thick glaze, whose purpose was to go around serving hot beverages at a party. A sort of teapot golem, if you will. I've been thinking of many such humanoid inanimate TFs. They're sort of like plush TFs in a way, if you imagine the plush creature being about five and a half feet tall and still able to move about like a regular person. Or better yet, imagine living fursuits! Not the kind that force you into them, naturally, but the variety a kind of subby person would want to turn into: they would politely hang in the closet until it's time to romp around. Alternatively, imagine a humanoid sponge at bathtime. Or a full-sized anthro rubber duckie in the pool. I imagine being turned into these things as a pleasant experience. You have two purposes in life... one is your very simple duty as an object, which is made even simpler by your body. The other is to be an overtly erotic piece of design, meant to be put on display and ogled. At a time when my university career is ending and I have to keep track of so many plans for the future, this kind of simple life fantasy is extremely attractive and very powerful.
The second is vaguely inspired by my other post about me being creepy and all. One conclusion I came to was that a lot of people assume the worst when they're confronted with a scenario that's kind of vague. Take inanimate TF for instance, since we were just talking about it... what happens to the person's mind, when they are turned into a wrench? Does it go away? Isn't that the same thing as death? Wouldn't it hurt when, after you're turned into a sandwich, someone takes a great big bite out of you? Well, the answer is not if you don't wait it to! If I took your head and turned it around 360 degrees, how is it still physically possible that you're still alive? Your neck muscles and bones would have to reknit themselves at a constant rate and that would take an enormous amount of energy.... but I think the crux of this fantasy is... what if it didn't? What if the least desirable elements of a given scenario were eliminated? Things like physical laws, pain responses, human biology... everything that stood in the way of the things you wanted to have happen in your craziest fantasies just started vanishing? Cerulean paints a very pretty picture of such worlds.
Thirdly, I've been making it my mission this year to get some better clothing options happening. I'm tired of black t-shirts and jeans: the nerd uniform, right? So I've been looking for some better colors, some nicer fits, more comfortable fabrics... and being a pod about fashion in general. This is, naturally, rounding out my more general costume-related transformation fetish. I mean, take 'toons, for instance. They tend to wear fairly distinctive digs, shaped to their uniquely oddball bodies (I mean look at these pants, can you imagine the pattern for those? Anyway, 'toons aside, I really like the idea of clothes that change your body to fit them better, while turning you into a character that would be more appropriate for the look. A giant oversized suit and tie would turn you into an upperclass hippo, for instance. Or something tight would stretch over your body a little bit too snugly, and comfortably loosen up as your frame shrank to something more modest. Wearing a superhero costume would bulk up your body... and let's not get started on jester getups. Haha.
Oooh oooh and I forgot to add this fourth point the first time I clicked "go" but I came across this terribly ugly mini-putt obstacle and couldn't help thinking I'd be a) terrified of and b) simultaneously utterly erotically fixated on as a youngster. I remember having pretty vivid fixations on theme park decorations and rides, especially the dark rides, suddenly springing to life and chasing after me nightmare style. I kind of made up for it by imagining some of the other rides being my friends and protecting me. For instance, there was this pretty charming inflatable tunnel ride that was shaped like a sweetly smiling snake. I spent way too long in that thing. YEAH, I'm weird. Anyhoo, the gist of all of this is that I like kind of tacky, fake looking things coming to life and being fixated on ME in some way. Airbrushed characters blobbing out of ride hoardings and coming up to chat... that sort of thing. I have a bad habit of animating almost everything I see. :x
Anyway, those are the big ones right now. What's been on your mind, y'all?

Mission: Tuition - HUGE QUEUE
Posted 15 years agoOkay a lot of people have been asking, so here we go, here's the HUGE QUEUE!
Color sketches - ($30 for one character) (+ $10 for each additional character)
Example: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4241962/
Full-color, "finalized" images - ($100 baseline... note me with your idea and I'll let you know)
Example: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4287940/
Leave a comment in this journal, and I'll add you to the queue! Once you've been added, send me a note with your specific request and your e-mail address. I'll get back to you with whatever feedback is necessary, or if everything's cool right off the bat, I'll send you my paypal address! Pretty simple! :D
If you're getting a finalized image, I'll do the sketch and have you okay it before I start to draw. If you don't want me to upload your image, please let me know IN ADVANCE, or I'll assume it's okay to upload to FA.
I'm taking 40 sketch commissions! If you'd like a more completed image, I'll swap 3 sketch slots for 1 finished one, which will hopefully explain why there may be fewer than 40 slots listed.
Anyway, enough blathering, ON WITH THE MISSION!

Mission: Tuition - Short break and commission status
Posted 15 years agoThis week hasn't been great for the commissions, BUT I'm down to a few biggies that I want to finish before I take the next round of sketches. I'm taking a quick break this weekend to do other art-related things, but I'll be back on Monday ready to go back to the grind!
It also turns out that they raised tuition again, and that I can't pay in installments like I thought I could because of my fifth year "victory lap" part-time status. This doesn't mean much to all of y'all, just that I might have to go into debt for a bit until I can pay off the other half. I was originally looking at $2500 for the year, but it looks like overall tuition is going up an extra $250, sheesh. ANYWAY, I'm about ... two fifths of the way to the total now? Yeah, almost exactly. I've also got a deadline now: August 20th. YIKES.
Anyway, beyond the current list of special requests, book cover commissions, and big full color stuff, I am going to be focusing exclusively on sketch commissions and rubber devil masks (they are $150, get them while I'm still crazy). After I clear this list, I'm going to be opening up for commissions again, and it will be a MASSIVELY LONG LIST with 40 open slots, which should just put me over the total! It'll really put the mission in sketch commission (that's 3+ sketches every day, 7 days a week, for two weeks straight!), and I think it's pretty unrealistic that I'll make by the 20th, but who knows! MAYBE I CAN DO THAT!
I'm still in the wrong mind to make a fursuit, but the deal now is that I need to pay my tuition first, even if I'm going to sell the suit afterward. With the extra time and liesure, I'm going to be making it a full suit. AND so I don't feel as bad about it, I'll include it as part of my material research for my thesis. I love being an art major. :D
Here's how things currently stand:
SKETCH COMMISSION OUTSTANDING:
1-
damonhusky (waiting until after RMFC)
2-
madius (also here as a reminder... of something)
BOOK COVERS ($60)
1-
2-
(who wanted these again? I remember hearing a few chirrups)
FULL COLOR COMMISSION:
1-
miriafox (paid)
DEVIL LATEX MASK ($150)
1-
Adrei (waiting on payment)
2 - (<- MAYBE YOU????)

That whole creepy thing
Posted 15 years agoYeah, it's still kiiind of on purpose. But I've been doing some thinking beyond that and yeah, I think I might know how to lighten up a bit w/r/t comments of the all-lowercase-no-punctuation "your creepy" persuasion.
I wouldn't use the word creepy for most of what I draw, if I had to describe it, even though I'm a huge fan of the word creepy and I've used it way too many times in the past to describe stuff. I digress, though; part of the appeal of transformation is to be pushed outside of your usual comfort zone, away from your body and your lifestyle, where ANYTHING could happen. And I guess... looking back on all of my art, that's really the core of my fetish, the one thing that holds it all together. A lot of people find that creepy, which is natural, it's supposed to be an element. Like polish surrealist Zdzislaw Beksinski (hey hey it's NAMEDROP TIME), I like to use the uncanny to foster a kind of anxious state that's pregnant with potential. Now HIS vocabulary of anxieties involves death, decay, religion and deformity. My vocabulary of anxieties comes from cartoons and kids' TV shows.
Part of making these sort of open-ended creepy images is that you're able to take control of the situation with your imagination. What happens next? How did they get in this situation? They're kind of like narrative rorschach ink blots. Some folks just automatically take it in the most unpleasant direction they can muster and obviously get super squicked. Other people (and these make for the BEST and MOST FLATTERING COMMENTS by the way) take one of my pictures and weave a whole appealing fantasy around it. In which case I guess being creepy is the same thing as being VAGUE, I dunno.
Sometimes I'm not surprised when people say something's creepy, because it's totally the point. But other times it's not the point, and I don't like hearing it, even though I understand. Maybe it's just a pique of shamelessness or self-indulgence that other people can't sympathize with. Let's not kid ourselves here, this is furry porn we're talking about, it can't all be POSTMODERN MASTERWORK. I would bet money that a lot of us human beings with sort of... out-there interests—sexual or otherwise—don't share them because we think we might come across as creepy. Perhaps any person more uninhibited than you is is going to come across as creepy, who knows. But anyway, the important thing in all of this is to strike some balance between the thrill of xenophilia and the comfort of murrs. If I'm in a shitty mood and getting pissed off at comments, I'll just draw something cute and murry and rebalance things out. And when I'm drawing lots of successfully hawt stuff, I'll be ready to throw you all a curveball. :D
With a plan in mind it'll be a lot harder to get caught in stupid arguments with people over things nobody cares about.

The real and the fake in furry
Posted 15 years agoSo when Goethe published The Sorrows of Young Werther (a book I haven't read, mind you, but have come across it as a phenomenon multiple times), he really let the genie out of the lamp. For all intents and purposes, the young Werther—a passionate and sensitive artist who moves to the country, falls in love with an engaged woman, fails to woo her, and commits suicide because he can't live with the pain—becomes a real presence haunting poor Goethe until his old age. Teenagers of the time read Werther and start dressing up like the main character. They identify with him. Some even get it in their heads that they should commit suicide over unrequited love, just like Werther. The Werther fans were, apparently, excruciatingly annoying to Goethe. No lie! He'd be relieved that Faust gradually overtook it in renown. Good for you, Goethe.
This is all, of course, to anchor what I'm about to say in some sort of historical context before I bend it into ridiculous areas. Human beings are hilariously prone to taking people who don't literally exist and giving them a great deal of power and influence. This is because, according to my exhaustive research (NOT!) human beings are pretty apathetic about this whole difference between real and fake people. It didn't matter that Werther wasn't a real person... he was made real by the fans. You see the same thing with actors being mistaken for their characters, and you see it with Otakukin.
Mass media only makes this easier, of course. And today, in this postmodern and increasingly posthuman culture, the lines between what's real and what's fictional are blurring more and more. We're desperate to cling to something that's real, and with the glut of novels, comics, movies, TV shows, advertisements, plays, images, non-fiction books, religious and political screeds, merchandise, music, fashionable clothing lines, all fussed over by designers trying to reify the concept that their thing is supposed to fetishize, all crossing boundaries of genre and media as if the concept couldn't be contained in just a book... we have a lot of options to choose from, and they're all very compelling!
And here, us furries... well, we invent cartoon animals and then pretend to be them. Or at least, we draw and write about them as if they had actual views and desires. They have wills of their own, certain mannerisms, and if you've ever fursuited or animated or even just RPed before, you'd know this intuitively. We really immerse ourselves entirely in a world that is fictional while at the same time acknowledging the real (breaking an intense RP, for example, to go to the bathroom). People had trouble recognizing me at AC because they were honestly expecting a four foot tall white cartoon critter with big fluffy ears (SO MANY PEOPLE told me this).
But they aren't crazy, that's just part of the bizarre yet fertile irony of the fandom I'm trying to get at here. When Orwell wrote about doubethink, it was cloaked in radical social engineering and entrenched in a sensational dystopia. Counter-intuitively though, I think this kind of doublethink can be good for us. Is it possible to acknowledge the truth of these ghosts without sacrificing our grip on reality? Can we believe something is authentic and fake at the same time without being taken out by a bout of cognitive dissonance?
This is pure Baudrillard, and naturally the critiques of Baudrillard also apply. Forensically, scientifically, anthropomorphic animal characters don't exist as creatures with their own agendas. In the world of the hyperreal, though, they're all over the place, having a surprising amount of influence over our daily decisions. Spend enough time here, and you sort of get used to the ghosts of characters you no longer play coming back to haunt you, demanding to live again. And yet, I think we have more perspective than Baudrillard did. The real and the fake aren't quite so interchangeable, as any skeptic in their right mind will tell you. To Baudrillard, the border isn't there. However, I think we (as furries) understand that it IS there, but we also understand that the border doesn't always have to apply. So we can feel free to enthusiastically experience the fake (being in character in a fursuit) as a genuine experience.
In fact, and I might be stepping wildly into the the cloudy zone where I lose everyone, but let's talk about furry porn for a sec. It's undeniably fake*, and yet the arousal we experience is genuine. In order to feel aroused, we need to physically embody one of the characters in the image, or else imagine ourselves in the room voyeuristically observing the scene play out.
Especially concerning physically impossible fetish scenes, there's a real paradox going on: it's not real and logically we KNOW it's not real, but our minds and bodies and emotions react as if it were. That's fucking CRAZY, don't you think??
I wonder if the attitude toward this dichotomy in the fandom might be useful for understanding what's going to be happening in this coming century. I predict that it will become increasingly difficult to understand the difference between what's real and what's just a marketing gimmick (take a look at this book for instance) and that there's already a need to seize this power for good instead of for money. Interesting times, my friends.
*Any sort of illustrated porn and to a certain degree a lot of softcore porn follows this pattern, compared to the amateur, hardcore fucking that tries to pass itself off as real. Most people seem to jack off to this kind of porn and it actually kind of grosses me out so I haven't watched enough of it to form a real opinion on it.
Mission: Tuition - COLOR SKETCH COMMISSIONS
Posted 15 years agoOkay, opening up more commissions! The book covers are a bit slow to start, but I think that's because people won't really know for sure what they'll be getting. With the price increase, I'm also a lot more flexible with how they end up, and I'm gonna go a lot further with them to make them look good. There are still slots open here, and I'm happy to do them!
BUT ONTO THE MAIN POINT OF THIS JOURNAL:
I'm taking sort of sketchy commissions! By sketchy I mean simple flat shading, rough lines, and full color. They are $30 each, maximum two characters. You can include any of my characters above that limit if you want though, I like drawing them. :)
Examples:

I'm going to open up 10 slots today. Don't worry if they fill up, I'll be opening more very soon! Get 'em while they're hot!

Mission: Tuition - PART 2
Posted 15 years agoCOMMISSIONS:
Book cover commission slots are still open! All six of them! Does anyone need an added incentive to snatch one of these up?
PRINTS:
You Are A Fursuit - http://inkbunny.net/submissionview.php?id=12560
I've changed the image a bit. A few people complained that they weren't interested in putting up something with the word "fetishes" on their wall. Now there are some Strategically Placed Stickers to give the book a little more authenticity, and makes it much safer to hang up. :)
Gender Roles - http://inkbunny.net/submissionview.php?id=12841
For when you want to put porn up on your wall but you want it to be all queer and genderfucky or whatever.
I've got a lot to do this week, so Mission: Tuition goes out of idle on the 19th!

Mission: Tuition - BOOK COVERS
Posted 15 years agoHey folks, I'm taking book cover commissions again! You may remember last time they were $25... and I spent way more time working on them than I was getting paid for. I also have my MISSION: TUITION goal of $1,500. So I'm raising the price to $60.
Again, I only want to pieces of information from you:
1- The title of the book.
2- The year it was published in. (1960-2000)
If you'd like the cover to feature a specific character, let me know.
Examples:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3550833/
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3593945/
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3766565/
Leave a comment below, first-come first-serve as usual! If I let you know you've got the slot, send me a note with the title, the year and characters (if any) you'd like on the cover. I'll note you back with my paypal and design strategy, which you will of course have some say over, because we're rolling with bigger dice now. Thanks y'all!

Mission: Tuition - PART 1
Posted 15 years agoHey folks, I am on a mission. I'm currently employed, and the job pays well, but I'm getting called in far far less than I was expecting. This is bad news for me. It means that it will be very difficult to raise the $2,500 required to put me through my final year of school. I would rather not have to borrow or take out a student loan to pay for everything, although that option is open to me currently so it's not a huge emergency. I also stand to be employed during the school year, which means I can defer a little less than half of my payment until January. I'm also currently looking for part time work on weekends, but that's hard to come by, and at minimum wage, I'm unlikely to make my goal anyway. The fact of the matter is that I need to raise at least $1,500 by September, in addition to any current cost of living. Yikes!
In light of this, I'm interested in pursuing alternate means of income to supplement my actual job.
* First off, a reminder: I'm selling a prosthetic I designed through the nice guys over at Northfur FX. It's the Cartoon Face (as seen at AC 2010!) and if you purchase it, not only do you help to support some friends and fellow furs in their awesome business, but I get a small cut as well. They're tops. Go do that.
* Secondly, I have the moulds for this Devil Mask which I'm selling runs of for $150, which is a bargain considering they are all hand cast and painted by yours truly. They are slip cast latex and very detailed, and can come in any colors you want. If you'd like to purchase one, please send me a note with your color scheme, and I'll note you back with my paypal. Order now before the Halloween crunch arrives!
* Thirdly, I am going to be taking a variety of commissions all this month and the next. This includes COLOR SKETCH COMMISSIONS, more BOOK COVERS, and maybe even a few of those awesome FULL COLOR, NICELY SHADED commission pics you all love. I will post journals with slots as Mission: Tuition goes on.
* I may also make some hand-stenciled t-shirts, if anyone is interested. If not, I am not going to do this!
* The big project, however, is that I am moving forward with fursuit building. I am going to build a partial version of the fursuit from You Are A Fursuit and auction it off. It will include a head, handpaws, sleeves, a tail, and footpaws. Stay tuned for updates on this.
* I am now on Inkbunny, selling prints! First up is You Are A Fursuit. It's available up to poster size! If you can think of any other images you'd like as a print, let me know! Sadly, they can't have humans in them, so that's a factor.
Anyway, this is all to say that I'm casting as wide a net as I can, and I'm hoping that y'all can help me take a huge chunk out of my potential debt, which would be SO SWELL you have no idea.

So... fursuiting!
Posted 15 years agoIn addition to AC being my first con, it was my first opportunity to actually do some 'suiting. I'd done costuming before and really enjoyed it. I, uh, tend to slip into character pretty easily. Hanging out with a lot of 'suiters during the con really helped, and I started to kind of understand it from the inside out, rather than from the outside in.
For a while I was trying to best describe the feeling of being in a fursuit, and the feeling of slipping into character and being completely overtaken by it. I think the best way to describe it would be psychedelic, which eschews probably not super accurate terms like spiritual or mystical. Those probably aught to be reserved for things with a bit more weight than dressing up in costumes and cavorting about. Regardless! It's still a pretty profound transformation, and I've been doing TOO MUCH THINKING about it, FUCK.
I find that TF people tend to be pretty heady about fursuits and costuming in general, which is I guess how I kind of wound up with my Thing. There's a particular stripe of transformation that deals with not just becoming someTHING else, but becoming someONE else. One of the basic tenets of transformation is that you are treated very differently after the transformation; people like you more or less, or they think you're cuter and want to be close to you, unless they're disquieted by your appearance and they tend to stay away.
Being in fursuit, especially if you can manage to slip into character, you can get away with a lot of stuff! People will forget that you're a person in a costume, and you kind of will too, and the whole environment will just morph into this bizarre world where you are a dog and everyone is kind of okay with that.
I also had the opportunity to go out in the parade in an open faced costume, wearing my 'toon prosthetic. The strange thing is... I didn't really enjoy myself as much. At first I thought it was because I was feeling too self-conscious, and maybe that was a part of it. But mostly, I think, it was because I didn't have a character to slip into. I was me, as a skunk, so it wasn't as fun! I had nothing to SAY to people, I just stumped around awkwardly out of character, forgetting I was supposed to be 'toony and a caricature and all that fun stuff I enjoy. And you know, I think that's part of 'suiting in general. It takes you a few tries to build a persona around a costume. It's also a pretty good indication of what might happen if I ever try to make a costume out of any of my current characters.
I might make a Swatcher puppet though. He'd work really well in puppet form. :D
So yeah, uh, lots to think about! Go figure I would like fursuiting, huh?

Streaming for a few hours! (OFF AGAIN)
Posted 15 years agoMy convention cherry is officially burst
Posted 15 years agoThat's a really creepy way of phrasing the fact that AC 2010 was my first con.
Drove up with Gerrark, Kahmari and Nick Wolf, who are all super. Crossing the border was no problem, but finding King's on the way there was difficult, and we soon found ourselves in downtown Pittsburgh sans Frownies™.
Thursday was a day of slumming and exploring. I ran into a whole bunch of people. Then my roommates Drake and Hegdish arrived, and got me set up with a room key! We went down to Primanti Bros and had delicious food.
Spent a lot of Saturday hanging out with Scurrow, who let me wear his awesome husky suit and run around ruining his reputation. I butt in on a card game where someone had a card case shaped like a giant bullet. I don't think I was a welcome presence there.
I actually did a lot of suiting! I feel absolutely inspired by it, it turns out to be very natural and fun to don a fuzzy suit and scamper about. Playing a character that way feels very natural. I'd love to be working on my own suits fairly soon. And expect a lot more fursuit-related drawings.
Went to have an awesome Chinese dinner with Angrboda, Therian, Tincrash and Leasara, where we all sat around one of those tables with the rotating part in the middle and shared dishes. That was wicked!
I got dressed up as a skunk and did the parade! It was a good opportunity to use my 'toon prosthetic. If you come across any photos of this getup, let me know! I've only found one so far!
http://www.flickr.com/photos/thebla.....ool-339756@N24
Also, I hope you met Nipper on Sunday night!
Thanks everyone, and I do mean everyone I ran into, for making my first con so amazing. It's all on you. You have no idea how much fun you allowed me to have. I had so much fun that the fun is going to take a while to spread itself out.

Very Very Enzrocone
Posted 15 years agoOkay, I swore I wasn't going to do this, but fuck it, I'm not above memes. NOT THAT ANYONE IS GOING TO READ THIS AND DERIVE ANY SORT OF INFORMATION FROM IT but hey, it's only fair to announce that I'll be out there, floating around, and only fitting to do so in meme form! ^^
• Where are you staying?
Ummm... different hotels. A certain coyote needs to remind me of the details... c.c
• What day are you getting there?
Thursday evening, if all goes according to plan, which it will!
• Who will you be with?
I dunno if I'll be WITH any particular group. I think I'm going to drift from one crowd to another. I know so may of you that I need to hang out with at least for a little bit!
• Do you do free art?
I'd LIKE to make a bit of fun money while I'm there. Anything "free" will probably be discretionary.
• Do you do trades?
AC will be a great opportunity to do trades! There will be moments at which I will be more than happy to swap sketchbooks. Catch me at those!
• Do you do commissions?
Only sketches, I won't have the proper supplies to do anything crazy complicated.
• What is your gender?
Male-esque.
• Can I talk to you?
Of course you can!
• Can I touch you?
Everyone has been secretly giggling over this, I swear. It's such a creepy question. Uh, yeah, you can, unless I'm in a gaseous state at the time, in which case, you might have trouble. Please don't touch me in the area under my ribs though, because it triggers my panic instinct and I will get really pissed off because you just fucking triggered my panic instinct.
• Can I hang out with you?
Yeah! I am likely to fly away quickly though, it's nothing personal. I'm a hummingbird on the astrai plane, flitting to and fro. It's my first big con so I might be a bit delicate, as long as you're not too intense then I'll probably stick around you for a bit.
• How can I find you?
I'm intending to be rather hard to find. I will find you.
• Can I buy you drinks?
Um, free booze? Okay!
See y'all there. ^^

Human school for werewolves
Posted 15 years agoSo picture this lavish old manor where they'd send werewolves in need of civilizing. They're normally these horrible bestial monsters who want to do nothing but kill, eat and maybe fuck. But with shock collars, dog whistles, and leashes, they can be trained to act like human beings again. How to eat with a knife and fork, how to speak properly, and how to be friendly, very friendly, around other human beings.
I feel like this aught to be an actual event, like, IRL. That would be so fun. :x

If there were no colors
Posted 15 years agoHoly crap, this song.

Now, close your eyes, and imagine Swatcher repainting the world while prancing about singing this song. It's PERFECT. The fact that it starts skipping halfway through makes it even better.

Called Dan
Posted 15 years agoYup, I called. Now we'll see if my call goes to air.
Ironically, I've been feeling really down about my own kinks lately, especially as they've been drifting into territory that most people find unappealing. Monsters, goblins, devils, aliens, and kind of fantastic and awkward-looking animals... furries just don't understand! I'm moving out of the murry zone, and it's a lonely place out there. (I'm totally still a furry though)
Complicating this is some hangup I have in asking for stuff. I tend to be more of the "draw a whole lot of stuff and people will return the favor", but as my tastes have been veering away from the furry mainstream, that tradeoff becomes a lot less likely. I've been feeling conspicuously left out, ignored, and brushed off. Not by everyone! But the balance, both IRL and in murrington, has been strictly on the "hey, let's do all sorts of things that interest Swatcher behind his back" side. I dunno. ANGST! Whatever, right? Aren't I supposed to be over this? ^^
Anyway. I dunno. Is there anything I'm supposed to do in this situation? WTF, right?

Sex advice for insatiable perverts
Posted 15 years agoSo I've been listening to the Savage Lovecast for over a year now (phew!) and ever since the Old Spice commercial with the centaur, Dan's been kind of... weird about unrealizable fetishes. Unreasonably so. He makes centaur fetishism out to be a huge tragedy because surprise, there are no centaurs available for fucking. Mind, he's talking about paraphilias more than just "I would totally fuck a centaur, that would be hawt", so yeah, if you could ONLY get off on the idea of fucking a centaur, that would be kind of awkward. But not a despairing situation.
I want to call him or write him with some advice that he can pass along to his listeners about what people like me (being a transformation fetishist) can do. Having an impossible paraphilia is a very confusing thing to have happen to a person, and budding perverts could use as much reassurance as possible that it's alright, it's a totally healthy by-product of being a human being, and that their sexual desires for impossible things are going to lead them on a unique and very pleasant adventure through life. Essentially, I want to spare them the insecurity that even now I am still dealing with because lordy, I didn't even know.
Now there's advice like accepting your sexuality for what it is that's kind of, like, yeah, sure. I'm thinking of more stuff for people whose fantasies are, for the time being, totally impossible to enact. My own advice is mostly practical:
Learn to lucid dream. There are plenty of books out there on this topic. Dreams really let your imagination run wild, and some of your most erotic experiences can happen while you're asleep. There's no limit to what's possible.
If you want to share your experience with your partner or just with someone, there are people whose fetish involves hypnosis who will gladly put you in the mood. Whoever is doing the hypnotizing, treat them well. Be a good bottom to their top and it should all go smoothly. If you're more of a dom yourself, you yourself might want to add hypnosis to your repertoire, as well as perhaps some mind-expanding substances that I will not name here.
Commission erotic artwork of your fetish! Artists who draw kinky porn are salivating all over their ponyplay bits for you to pay them money to do something they already do mostly for free. Keep in mind that they are professionals and artists, and they're cutting you a HUGE DEAL under the table to get you porn for cheap, so ALWAYS be polite, courteous and giving, never demanding. It never hurts to pay a little over asking price. Fetish communities are super tightly knit, and word spreads about good commissioners.
You will likely wind up doing a lot of experimentation in the bedroom trying to find ways to get you off. Try roleplaying, costumes, props, and plenty of goofy crazy setups. Treat it like an adventure. Be optimistic, be creative, be GGG, try things out that might not work, and your partner(s) are as likely to have fun unknotting your twisted mind as you will. If not, as Dan would say: "DTMFA."
Okay, so that's my advice. Does anyone else have any input? Remember, this is advice for people with impossible fetishes, not just fetishes in general.
