Commissions are open, with a twist: If the character is one I've got a crush on, the commission is 50% off. I can't remember every single character I've got a crush on, so I'm compiling a list of however many I can, and if someone reminds me or introduces a character that gets me blushing, I'll give you the discount and update the list. Additionally, if it's one of my characters, you get a $10 discount for the piece. The discounts do stack, and they stack in order of operations.

The price for a single character drawing is $50, the price for a two character drawing is $65. If your drawing idea has one of the characters in limited visibility (barely in frame, tiny in composition, vague features like they're in fog) they won't be counted against the number of characters.

My new graphics card came in and by an initial look, it works. I’m tired as heck from work, but underneath the fatigue is so much relief. I’ve been unable to start my game projects for so long because I was waiting for the right time to fix my PC. I’m so glad I stopped waiting.

But now, as the title suggests, I’ve gotta actually start fiddling around in Blender.

Today was a really rough day at work. I did not feel physically well at all, lots of abdominal pain. Couldn't even focus on anything.

It got me thinking about how upsetting it'd be to wait this long in case something bad happened and to just be worse off even accounting for using the graphics card money as savings. Nah, I'm not waiting anymore. I want to start working on my 3D models, I want to start working on my game. Of course, if it turns out the issues with my PC goes deeper than just needing a new graphics card... Then... Oops, I guess. At least the new card is more modern.

I should receive the new graphics card on Wednesday, then I'll know for sure whether my PC is actually working.

Nothing too much to say in this journal other than that I'm mad about the economy.

I've had $250 saved up for getting a new graphics card, only for the very next month having to put it on a shelf until I'm sure that I can afford rent and bills until the end of winter. I know it's not a particularly novel situation, I'm just sick of always being on a financial treadmill.

To give an idea of what my money goes to: The rent bill each month is about $1871.50, our electrical bill is about $100 during the winter. Between my and my partner's jobs, my share of the rent is about $1450, give or take, plus the $100 electrical bill. If they've got me working 29 hours per week, I can barely make it, but that still only covers rent and utilities.

Right? Doesn't sound so bad? Like if I just pick up a couple shifts, if I just call to ask if I can clock in early, I should be able to make up for it. That's what I'm hoping for. Currently I'm scheduled most of January for 20 hours weeks, so fingers crossed I can get them to find that time for me. But man, it's just one thing after another.

For any given adoptable I'm selling, I'm gonna try getting you a free reference sheet of the character with any changes you might want, if you want them gender flipped or if you want a fem and masc version of them on the ref, it's no extra charge.

I might also find some of my unsold adoptables from a while ago and give them an update, same rules apply.

About 2 years ago on Twitter there was a drawing engagement bait thing for drawing the offspring of the artist's OC and their audience's. I did one a while back, but I'm doing another now that I've got a couple more eyes on my art.

Unsurprisingly, 3 back to back drawings are giving me a bit of trepidation about moving forward. Poses and composition are always always my weak suit, and each round’s drawing requiring its own of both feels like I’m burning through my good ideas faster than I can form new ones.

That said, I’ve got a pose done for round 4. I’m gonna give it some time and work on some low pressure drawings in the meantime while I wait to get my mojo back. I’ve technically already done what I set out to do with the Strawberri Roulette, so burning myself out over it seems like a bad move.

Somehow got back to 20 votes just as I finished round 1's drawing, but it looks like paws is the winner of round two!

So now votes for vore and paws will be omitted from the wheel.

Round one is now closed and the roulette has been spun. The themes of Macro/Micro, Hyper, Vore, and Hypnosis were all tied at 3 points apiece and out of a total of 20 votes, each one had a %15 chance of getting spun, with each other voted theme having a %10 or %5 chance.

The theme of Round 1 will be... Vore! Specifically unbirth as all three people voting for vore specified unbirth. That being said, Round 2 onwards, there will be no more votes for vore unless there's a strong interest in one of the other genres of vore (Oral, Anal, Absorption, etc).
So at the very least each voted theme will eventually get one drawing.

Based on replies, hyper appears to be the most likely (%23), followed by macro/micro, pregnancy, and hypnosis (%15.4 each).

There's still a %7.7 chance of getting paw, pheromones, weight gain, pooltoy, or vore (specifically unbirth so it might also get a normal pregnancy alt it this wins), but I think it tracks that if pheromones wins, it's probably going to have a hypno angle anyways. I'll also just generally keep in mind which ones are the most desired outcomes, like, the paw one is probably going to feature her as a macro too.

I'm gonna let it go on for one more day before spinning the wheel, just to see if that makes a difference, maybe transformation will make a surprise victory and I'll actually draw some real tf for once. ;D

The full story:
Late last March I had a panic attack. Part of that was due to getting inaccurate readings from my blood pressure monitor, but overall, I work customer service and the rent to my apartment would take up my entire paycheck if I was working full time and paying alone. That's why for the longest time my Ko-Fi goal was "Art Vacation". I started it when I was paying alone and dipping into the savings I built up living at my parents house, so the only way I would've been able to save anything would be through Ko-Fi or Patreon.

But even once things got financially easier, I still cracked on that day. Had to rush to the ER to get some tests done. After all of that, I asked if I could get an itemized receipt for the visit, and since I'm insured, the clerks told me that I only had to worry about the $50 copay. The next couple months came easier since I knew that whatever I was seeing on that blood pressure monitor didn't necessarily mean I needed to be rushed to the ER. And sometime a couple weeks ago, maybe early May I found out why the readings were inaccurate and I've since fixed the issue.

That said, I got an email last week from the hospital saying I qualified for a 15 month plan of $300 a month. I called to check in on why that was, they told me that I was uninsured... I'm sure y'all can see the problem there. I gave them my insurance information again and they told me I'll hear back from them in July, which is also when my first bill is due. I'm anticipating that nothing will come from that, so I've started up the Ko-Fi goal to tackle that.

Just 23 hours left for the drive. Chai has already broken through the 200 pup threshold!

The price tag on it is going to be $200 for one character, and an additional $50 for an extra character*. Usual commission stuff still applies: I won't send an invoice until either I send a sketch, or in situations where the drawing is more involved, until I'm basically done with it. Kink is encouraged. If you're uncertain if I'll draw your particular kink, ask, the worst thing I can do is say no**.

* If the character is tiny or otherwise requires no detail, I'm not going to charge for them.

Due to a couple of unfortunate circumstances, money is going to be tighter this month than it's ever been, and that has me thinking that I should try to open commissions again. I've held off for the last couple months because work does drain me off a lot of my creative energy, but the fact of the matter is that my pockets are empty.

The kicker though is that the commission slot is going to be $200. It's definitely higher than my previous prices, but back then, any money was good money, but now it has to compete with a wage.

Like the journal title says, I'm saving up for a vacation from my day-job. I've currently got a little over $100 in vacation hours that I can use at the moment, but to cover the rest of the 2 weeks I'd need to take off, I'll need $1000 total.

I'll still try getting around to art as my situation stands now, but retail, particularly customer service work, is really wearing away at my energy.

I love doing commissions, I love sending people updates and getting feedback on what I can fix or update or make an alt for; but the honest truth is that I really can't take on more than one at a time right now without spiraling about how I'm depressed because I can't finish my commissions on a decent schedule, and I can't finish my commissions on a decent schedule because I'm depressed.

That said, I'm opening requests.

I can't promise I'll finish or even start all of them, but I trust that y'all know enough of what I like and what I draw that I can open my notes, read a request, and be inspired by something, anything. I don't want to stop doing art, and I don't want my art to be something I do only because I'm getting paid for it, so I'm trying to find that nice middle ground that actually works in the meantime.

This stuff mostly builds off of the magic system I've been building for a couple years now. Some of the stuff has changed names, but the general shape of the magic system remains the same. It's just that now, Starry and Luneth have different "slices" of the same "pie" of magic. They're both still primal sorcerers (Though Starry has the paladin augment class and Luneth has the barbarian augment class, not of that makes sense right now, but give me a couple months), but Starry is more like a healing primal sorcerer (unrelated to them also being a paladin) and Luneth is more like a dps primal sorcerer (unrelated to them also being a barbarian). And Tempest is more like a controller primal cleric (cleric focus class with sorcerer augment class). A lot of this is building up to an actual ttrpg-ish kinda system for them, which is why I've flooded a lot of this paragraph with parentheses'd text referencing other stuff I'm workshopping on the side, but this is just about the characters' soul magic.

Starry, Luneth, Tempest, and to a lesser extent all of my other OCs get their magical or quasi-magical abilities through the power of their own souls. This manifest usually as a sliver of one of four greater soul components, but even one specialized in one can theoretically dip into others, especially if they're just casting the rituals of the other essences.

The former three characters in particular have their souls focused around primal magic, which deals mostly in basal desires and fervent determination.
Its primary essences are:
- Beasts: The primal channeling of flesh. Perhaps the most primal of these 4 as we might think of the word. Luneth herself mostly resorts to this type as it is the most physical, letting her augment her own body on a whim. Why cast fireball when she can become the fireball? Or rather, become a monster that can hit things as hard as a fireball?
- Suns: The primal channeling of passion. More similar to how we might think of the term "Spiral Power", its flexible in its usage, but leans well into healing magics as well as basic elementalism. Starry prefers this essence since it was the first vein of primal magic that came to them after freeing themselves from Luneth's possession.
- Storms: The primal channeling of change. It has a wide domain, covering both the passage of moment to moment events and well as long term development; metaphorically weather and seasons. It's predictably fickle, but Tempest seems to find reliability in its roiling waves, perhaps owing to her acceptance of the changes that befell her.
- Trees: The primal channeling of eternity. It represents to immutable inevitability of life to continue. It has no known expert among my OCs, but maybe that too is inevitable.

Chai's family however, channels their powers through divine magic, though Chai's family mostly channels the same one. The essences of divine magic are named after Tarot major arcana and deal in the affection of others.
Its primary essences are:
- Lovers: The affection of... well... uh... loving... and "loving". This is the one that Chai and her family are super proficient in. There's not much more to say about it, but it's the cause of Chai's family kinda being honorary royalty. They're just supernaturally fuckable.
- Emperor: The affection of domination. After lovers, reading "affection" followed by "domination" probably reads like "Oh, its BDSM." Wrong. Kinda. It's "affection" in the sense that people are affected by it and its domination in the sense that it just overwhelms people. It's an otherworldly intimidation check.
- Justice: The affection of righteousness. It plays off of its users' sense of morality, however simple or convoluted. It's kinda like paladin smiting, sorta, if you think about it.
- Heirophant: The affection of order. Heirophant embodies the instinctive urge to follow order, to obey, not through intimidation, lust, or ideology, but simply to make sense and to make sense of the world. It's spooky compared to the others, at least in my opinion.

There's also spirit magic and one other one that I've yet to settle on a name for, spirit magic is like a counterthesis to primal magic (focusing on the immaterial instead of material) and the unnamed magic is a counterthesis to divine magic (In the sense that it deals in the understanding of the self as opposed to the affection of those around them).

I've finally finished up on the backlog of commissions that I had. I'm not ready to open up commission slots again yet, there's still a couple drawings that I want to get out of the way: I've got a raffle going on for my Twitter account since it's gotten 200 followers and the growth drive from last year has enough donations for a 3rd page; and after those I'll need to readjust my commission prices to better match where I feel my art is at on a technical level and also to keep up with prices where I'm at.
