So here it comes, Mewtwo's entry into Death Battle.

Mewtwo is in the next Death Battle
Posted 9 years agoIt's been expected for years, but the ending clips of Joker vs Sweet Tooth revealed that one of the combatants in the next Death Battle is none other than Mewtwo himself.
It's not yet revealed who he'll be upgainst, but I'm personally really hoping for Tetsuo, from 'Akira'.
And of course, hoping he wins, whoever he's matched against. MaxofFewTrades, a YouTube gamer/nerd who is also on Death Battle's research staff, referred to Mewtwo as 'damn scary'. That's a big vote in his favor, as far as I'm concerned.

That was a close one! (Kiriban results)
Posted 9 years agoAnd even though I'm at work at the moment, I had just pulled out the phone to do a quick check, and got to see the last watches pop up, then the notes come in with a few refreshes.
Two notes came at pretty much the exact same time, likely separated by the seconds between screen loadings.
The winner:
Frysco !
Send me the info on your idea, or tag me on skype/AIM/Steam if you like.
Thanks to all who were competing for it. I was rather touched at how determined a few users were.
And of course, thanks to all who have tagged this account with a watch! Maybe in a few more years I'll hit 2K.

Birthday coming up!
Posted 9 years agoYups, that time of year is coming round again, May 26th. And thankfully this year I'm not scheduled to work that night, so I'm thinking I'll go somewhere nice for dinner.
Was kinda hoping I'd hit the 1000 watchers before that, but looks like it's going to be just shy of that. Ah well. Still, the kiriban is running ( https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/7313597/ ), so when the number gets caught I'll be watching for the notes.
I'm happy the site came back up before the b-day rolled around though. And I'm surprised. Lots of users are reporting a huge influx of watchers from people who can't access their account (seriously people, read the announcement. It's there for a reason). But I've only seen one that might be a result of that, so it seems a good deal of my watchers keep a good eye on their contact details, which is pretty nice to see!
Meh, just a short birthday coming journal, nothing big.
But.....Game of Thrones spoiler below:
RIP Hoedor.

Gaming Channel on Twitch

Been wanting to get this set up for the longest while. My comp is easily powerful enough for quality broadcasting, but it's been both a busy year, and I was fiddling with settings for quite a bit. Still got more to play with too, and finish some aesthetics for the channel page.
But what's there now works! My comp's on board streaming and recording software works great, and there's a lot of games out there it'd be fun to do streams with, and far more coming out (Doom!).
So please, if at all interested tag me with a follow there, and I'll hope to see you in the chat!

A Decision
Posted 9 years agoI am going to stay away from the weirder and kinky stuff from now on. Any time my 'sona is going to be portrayed in an erotica scene or if I write anything it's just going to be the regular vanilla kind of stuff.
Does Zootopia live up to the hype?
Posted 9 years agoYes, yes it does. Saw it today with
ctrlaltdel123 at an all-furry theater buy-out event in Virginia.
It's bloody awesome. I'll probably see it again just to catch all the small details that slipped by, and just enjoy it all the more.
(ps: New generation of furries are inbound, and a notable percentage of them will blame Zootopia)

So Now I'm At 971 Watchers. Okay then: Kiriban It Is
Posted 9 years agoAlso the lottery joke journal played its role. Might as well have something genuinely interesting as the top journal.
I might actually hit 1000 watchers within the next month or so, at least sometime this year if the pace keeps up.
SO!
Kiriban!
Whomever grabs a screenshot of the watcher count hitting 1000 gets a story written by me. Moooooost of my watcher base seem to have a primary interest in the stories I write or get commissioned, so that seems like a pretty good fit as a prize. 1000 is a nice round number, so the word-count for the story will be in the range of 10,000 words. Maybe a bit longer, maybe a bit shorter, depending on content.
Of Course There Be Rules
1) The link to the screenshot must be NOTED to me, not linked in a journal comment or page shout.
2) The prize will go to the first person to send the note.
3) If I feel the screenshot is too blurred, small, or otherwise unclear enough to count, the prize goes to the next note sender if their screenshot is better.
4) The story content will be pretty open, unless it's something I just will not touch on (cubs, scat, watersports, etc. You guys know my usuals) or something I just don't think I'll be able to pull off well. If the first idea you send me is something I can't do, you still hold the prize, and can use it towards a different concept.

New Pistol Get!
Posted 9 years agoBeen holding off on getting one of these for a long while now, and tonight I just went out and filled out the paperwork.
No, I'm not the paranoid 'They're gonna take our guns' type. Because...no, they're not. I went out tonight to grab the gun I had in mind because I knew a bunch of other people who are totally paranoid about that kind of thing are going to mob the store soon, and they'd clear the shelves.
Sadly...already almost happened. Lots of empty shelf-space, and the Sig Spartan 1911 ( http://www.sigsauer.com/upFiles/cat.....il-Bty-Dwn.jpg ) I wanted was already sold.
What was still on the shelf was a Colt Rail Gun 1911 ( http://www.colt.com/Portals/0/produ.....13/O1980RG.jpg )
Snagged it, before it could be bought up by someone else, and before the price jumped by several hundred dollars over the next week.

Holy crimminy did that turn out spectacularly! Absolutely perfect, is more like it. So Solipsia officially has my recommendation as a go-to artist for anyone looking to get a pic of a scaley or anything military themed. This was a real treat of a commission to get, and just today I gave it to the coworker it was intended for, and they thought it was plenty awesome even though they're not a furry.

I'm at 950 watchers...
Posted 10 years agoAnd I'm kinda stunned at that, given my eratic upload rate. Most of it's commissioned work, and my custom pieces are erratic at best.
But...people watched me anyway.
So...Okay, questions!
1) What drew you to tag me with a watch?
2) Did anything else keep you watching me?
3) Would you help me claim the heads (this is variable) of my enemies?
4) What should I do if I hit 1,000 watchers?

So...likely tomorrow I'll put up a bunch of them. Keep your eyes peeled!

Pending Mini-Flood and Updates On Stuff
Posted 10 years agoHelllo everyone! Been over a month since I posted an update on things, and I figured I'd pop one up.
First up is a nice and generally awesome note: I've got no work (aside from some delivery stuff if I opt for it, but that's entirely by my choice) for the next 6 days.
This is freakin' awesome. I can get caught up on so much that's been pushed to the back due to daily work hours. Some of it's the usual household stuff (need a new recycle bin, and other blah things). Some of it's slightly more important (sorting of paperwork, making some needed calls, closing out some accounts to trim the bills). But really...I can probably knock all of that out in one day, and then the rest of the week is entirely free.
Probably gonna hit the local archery range to dial in the crossbow and takedown bow. And also probably gonna hit the local shooting range to dial in the 10/22, which I've modified a lot.
But among other things internet-wise, I'm gonna do a mini-flood here of all the stuff I've had sitting in email attachments and stored on my HD for...longer than they should have. My usual policy is to upload a work after the original has been up for 2-weeks, unless the author plans to either take a long time to upload it, or not upload it at all. That way stuff doesn't go into limbo.
Totally slacked on that. So limbo occurred. Some stuff's been going up, but I've got a good few things that'll flesh-out the gallery a bit more.
Two recent commissions have been posted that I really want to direct people to though.
Badass pic: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/17714118/
This is, easily, the nicest and most badass pic of Ichi-gou to date. I really do hope that there's another roleplay battle-tournament sometime soon, just so I can put this in the profile page.
A TF sequence that had been burning in my brain for a long while: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/17666146/ (nsfw)
The most common things I've seen in plant-TFs were that they always either seemed to start at the feet, and work up from there, or involve something like vines or the like. I wanted to get a commission done with a bit of a different approach: starting with the tail.
And holllllly cow, turned out excellent. Brilliantly even. If you like it, plllleeeeeeeeeaaaaaaase give the original a fav and leave some commentary.
It turned out brilliantly enough that even though a lot has happened over the last few months to kill my muse, both online and offline, this sequence really rooted its way into my brain. I've begun the outline of a story for the comic. And I fully intend to hammer this story out in the next few days. It's like the story WANTS to be written, and I aim to make it happen as a means to do the comic-sequence justice, and also break my writing funk. So keep your eyes peeled for it to pop into your notifications center.
There'll be something unique to the piece, besides the different approach to plant-tf. It's something of a dedication as well.
Transformation content was actually what brought me to FA, and even the fandom itself. So the story is going to include an author's note, and little parts of it will be hints and asides to some of the authors and stories that have been really stand-out and influential to my interests. I'm trying to reach out to said authors, just to be sure they're okay with that.
So, that's the update. It's a good and easy week, expect a lot of uploads, stuff is going to get done IRL, and something that I really can't even resist the urge to get done as far as writing goes is going to get done, come hell or high water.

Yikes, I Passed (Sommelier Level 1 Re-certification)
Posted 10 years agoRelated to: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/17364475/
("Why is that in scraps?" Read the new AUP)
I've been studying for the past few weeks to secure this title (really, re-secure, but the last year or so has kinda sucked. See prior journals).
But I did it, and taking up the task over the last few months was tough.
Lots of the info involved has evolved, and at the very least I've retained the critical details, and kept up up with the evolving ones (the wine world changes a lot more than the layman would expect).
However, this is a BIG weight off my back (the hotel was paying for me to take this re-certification on the assumption that I'd pass it with no problem). For those of you not in the hospitality industry...it's pretty much your boss telling you to take a class and exam (that they pay for) to boost their image and revenue. And even though I beat the exam a while ago, the wine industry changes on a daily/weekly basis, so securing this title is a big deal. So the unsaid message was: "Pass this, or you're screwed."
I passed it, after a lot of studying up on new changes to wine laws and remembering stuff I'd forgotten.
Big thing for next year, around this time: Going for Certified Sommelier.
Thankfully I've got a lot of other contacts in the wine and food industry, and the wine fields in particular. So I'm feeling pretty good about having the supports needed to beat the Certified Sommelier exam sometime next year. Gotta buckle down a bit...but only a bit. My base of knowledge is very nicely set, and now it's just refining things.

Of course it came down to a single swing-vote, which is disheartening (a little, but only a little, since the result is still solid).
But still....can't wait to gloat to my highly religious and conservative coworkers! They're going to be ill tomorrow.

You were the Spider, a dangerous yet beautiful creature. Most people keep their distance, whether that is due to your intimidating stance, or the fact that you make it apparent that you would rather be left alone. You can become angry and defensive very easily, but can hide it well if needed. Work is more important than play to you, and you are very successful and intelligent. Not many can match your wisdom, and many don't bother to see the other, gentler side of you.
Definitely not what I was expecting as a result, but I can see the relative points.
Still, it's a result that might make

My Mother Has Passed Away
Posted 10 years agoDespite making slow but noticeable recovery over the weeks since waking up from her coma, today my mother suffered a heart-attack in her bed in the hospital. Upon examination, it was found that she had severe bleeding in her brain, which would eventually stop her heart on its own.
There was no viable way to stop that from happening. The bleeding was too severe, and too deep in.
I hold her power of attorney, and advanced directive, which clearly state that she did not wish to be kept on life-support. And given what had happened, life-support would not have helped regardless. After all of the family was gathered in the hospital room, I requested the life-support be turned off.
The family and I stayed by her bedside until she'd breathed her last.
Now comes the mourning, and picking up the pieces.

My Mother is Dying
Posted 10 years agoMy mother was struck by a car early in November, and has been in critical care since.
Tonight her condition took a very, very, very bad turn. She may not survive the night. It's not likely she will survive at all. Right now I'm bringing my brother to the hospital so he can say goodbye.
