Still miss you Dragoneer
Posted a month agoStill thinking of him every day. Still missing him a lot.
I'm swinging into the Furry Family Ofrenda today around 5pm EST, if anyone wants to join.

I want my friend back
Posted a year agoAnyone in any chats I am in has seen me express this sentiment.
Dragoneer was one of my best friends, both while I was active staff on FA and even after I stepped down. We stayed close, chatted a lot, and I did what I could to make him a little more comfortable over the last year.
And I really want my friend back. It's not fair. It's not right that he died the way he did.

34 Felony Convictions
Posted a year agoFucking hell was that a breath of fresh air and satisfying to see.
I was genuinely worried that a MAGA looney on the jury would force a mistrial and Trump would skate free.
But the jury did their duty, took in all the blatant and clear evidence, and smacked Trump with some of the first consequences for his shitty behavior he's likely ever experienced.
Now I'm hoping the judge has the stones to toss him in jail. Trump is going to appeal, sure. But as of right now, he's a convicted felon with 34 felonies to his name.
Couldn't have happened to a nicer (absolutely revolting) human being (barely. Like...he's human in the biological sense).

Yups. Stepped Down From FA Site Staff
Posted 5 years agoSo, 2009 - late 2020. (and Election Day 2020 just felt like an ironic day to pop this up)
That is, believe it or not, a record for Fur Affinity staff. Short of Dragoneer himself. Pretty danged good run.
Really, this came down to RL work and RL opportunity. Back when I originally started as forum staff back in 2009, and later got offered to pick up duties on the main-site, I had a radically different schedule and workplace availability. I could reach the net easy, at any time, and catch stuff fast (for the most part). My hours have always been odd, even back in culinary school days. But they synced up with the requirements well enough. Even my full-time work had a ton of dead-space amidst the day's pace. So pretty anytime something popped up of note in my area of responsibility on the site I could respond. Or on my days off, they were genuine days off. I could devote a good space of time to catching up on things.
But over the last year or so, that's gone through a pretty radical change. As my thread ( https://forums.furaffinity.net/thre.....thing.1665489/ ) noted, I've gone from hospitality to budtending. And most dispensaries are mini-fortresses. So I'm spending most of my day in a space that has very limited reception at the best moments, and spotty reception at others. Which means if stuff started hitting the fan, I was at less availability to respond. And while staff do have communication outside the site and forum to keep coordinated, even that was reduced for me for most of the work-cycle.
FA internal-wise: Decisions were made I disagreed with, strongly. But despite my objections, they were enacted. That put me in the position of having to enforce issues or potentially take action on users that had already accused me of bias.
Limited time, limited availability, a focus on RL details (including some pretty danged big potentials that I wouldn't want to distract from), and now internal decisions I didn't agree with. That's a pretty solid mesh of circumstances for stepping back and stepping down as the best move possible.
So yeah, so it goes. Still a damned nice track-record though. Nearly 11 years as staff on one of the most noted sites for furry material on the net is a pretty solid run. It's been interesting, and it's been educational. It's given a lot of perspective on other bigger sites, like youtube, DA, and other content-producer focused venues. It's a perspective that I wouldn't otherwise have on community moderation and the back-and-forth of community users and site runners. It's a perspective that I'll hold, likely for the rest of my life, as something I have in mind anytime there's internet drama or such involving sites and their moderators. It gives another level of consideration for what a community of a site or fandom pushes for, and what the host can actually nail down.
I'll still be around the main site and the forum, sure. But RL has made itself all the more important. So it's time to heade the call and focus there. Plus finish up my seriously backlogged commission obligation. Also pick at my novel aspirations, and see if I can work the thing into a complete volume.

Blah. Might have caught the Covid
Posted 5 years agoMight, let me stress that. The symptoms are only a partial match for all the symptoms Covid can present with.
But was feeling mildly nauseous and down yesterday. Wasn't feeling any better today, along with some chills, abdominal pain, and muscle aches.
So I'm at the VA, just waiting on testing and evaluation results
2020 has...well... it's sucked. This is just a fantastic (sarcasm on that point) extra bit of it.

And of course I'm accepting Shinies!
Posted 6 years agoOf course I am!
I know I'm not a frequent submitter, but I also know that there's plenty of people who like the weirdness I come up with and occasionally commission.
So if you like, but perhaps you're more of a lurker and commentary doesn't come easy, feel free to sling me a Shiny or two!

Update From The Last Journal
Posted 6 years agoAlienware shipped the computer with the wrong power cord, and minus one video card I was expecting.
Way to go, Alienware. Way to go.
Fortunately their warranty people aren't giving me shit about it. The admitted the mistake, and they're sending the replacements. Should be here around Thursday or Friday.

Birthday Coming Up
Posted 6 years agoYups, this coming Sunday, the 26th, marks my 36th birthday.
Yeah, I'm getting into grey-muzzle territory there.
June is supposed to be something special at the local animal shelter. $5 for all kitten adoptions.
I've been holding off on getting a kitty for the house, and was aiming to get a Russian Blue from a local breeder that had a good reputation for being ethical about their practice.
But I might skip that, and have my birthday treat to myself be getting the house a little kitten in June. It's only a few days away from the actual special day.
Other than that, got the new computer to replace my current rig, which seems to have come down with some motherboard issues, and Alienware has just issued me an entirely new system, with some upgrades to boot.
So if you're not subscribed to me on youtube, gimme a tag there. I'll probably be doing both an unboxing video of the rig, but also break it in with one of the more graphic-intensive games in my library. Probably Prey: Mooncrash, since that's one of my favs.
Cheers!

Fellow CTF Writer Shout-Out!
Posted 6 years agoPopping this up as a return favor for
Jalle Check out their stuff!
Jalle's an awesome erotica writer, who delves into the weirder stuff, like what's in my gallery. Users will probably recognize his handle as being the one who did Draconic Resurgence and A Fitting Role.
Check his gallery out, and if you like the material he produces, consider tossing him a commission. He's doing a recurring D&D series that's just starting up, but will be featuring erotic TF material. And he takes commission ideas, and is super flexible with things like different character types and species.

Birthday/Hatchday/Tubeday Tomorrow!
Posted 7 years agoBut it'll likely be a bit of a 'meh' birthday, even for a Saturday.
It's a workday, for one. I tried to request the day off, but staffing requirements are staffing requirements. And next week looks to be pretty heavily loaded with shifts. Great for money and all, but it doesn't leave much in the way of free time.
I've got a story commission coming, but it's not really a birthday piece or anything, just something that's in the works. I actually hadn't settled on any artists for a specific birthday piece this year, but I've got a few in mind for future ones.
So...yeah, kind of a meh birthday. But hopefully it'll go smoothly at work with no drama or overly tricky tables.

Death Battle: Renamon vs Lucario
Posted 8 years agoTook them long enough to get to this one!
What's weird about seeing the Renamon clips in that video is that it reminded me that in the show she *doesn't have tits*. I'm way too used to picturing her drawn the way she's shown in pics on FA.
And....yeah, I roll with their ultimate decision on who would win. It fits.
Big Life Change Coming Up
Posted 8 years agoTurned in my 2 week's notice on Sunday.
It's...yeah, it's a mix of feelings. I've been at the same place for a long while now, and it's been long past time (real world events being the real x-factor) I moved on to learn something new. But it's turning in my resignation to an organization that I've been at for 7+ years. That's not a tie you just snip with tweezers.
The restaurant I will be going to won't open till September, but it will be more along the lines of (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/23332723/) than the place I am now. Where I'm at now is upscale, but it's not the fine-dining environment I wanted to work towards, and the coming position is...well...it's what I've been working towards.
I'll be doing Uber/Lyft in the interim of my current spot, and then the training program for the new establishment will begin. That'll be a weird bit of transitional period, but at least there's income and study time as the days go by.
That study time, that'll be critical. The restaurant/hotel I'm going to will be opening.
Not joining. Not in operation. Opening.
Opening.
That means my study and performance during the training will be to ensure I'm not culled along with the rest of the excess staff during the first weeks and months. So I will be busting my tail to stand out. But I know my credentials will make me stand out, and I know my credentials aren't bullshit, and I know my shit, so I have some legit-earned leg-ups.
It'll be an interesting time, but it's been a time long coming.

Dropping from Skype in 1 Week

Another Birthday Journal
Posted 8 years agoIt's that time of the year again.
More of a laid back birthday, what with it being a workday. But some family and I are going to do some stuff next week as a bit of delayed celebration. Other than that, just chilling out and keeping things relaxed. Hopefully the CONSTANT thunderstorms arou d my way break up and give a chance at grilling.

I would have much preferred Bernie to be on it, but it is what it is. I hope he runs again in 2020.
I do hope all of my eligible watchers cast their votes too, no matter your political leanings.

PROMOTION JOURNAL! Go Check Out Amethystine's Novel

Fair warning, this is definitely NSFW. It's a very kinky conjoinment, merging, and TF story, and I do believe it earns the distinction of being a record-breaker in those genres. So be warned, it's not exactly a vanilla tale.
But if that's the content you've got a craving for, this is definitely right to your tastes, and it's got enough content that it'll keep you most pleased for quite a while. Ameth was kind enough to offer me a preview, and I gotta say, he really put in the time and effort on this.
And it's for a good cause: helping Ameth with some expenses.
