Game File Updated
Posted 6 years agoHey everyone,
Just letting you know that the game has been updated with some minor bugfixes and improvements. Barring any major bugs, I'll be leaving this version as it is for now and moving on to level 3.
Thanks,

Updates (13/05/2019)
Posted 6 years agoHey everyone,
Just an update to let you know that I am back from my break, and will be resuming my regular stream schedule now. This week I'll be fixing the reported bugs that I can replicate and trying to fix the ones that I can't, as well attempting to add I-frames to the game. By the end of this week I want to update the game files with these fixes, and then after that I'll be moving on to level three and not doing any more bug fixing until that level is done.
Thanks,
-SF

Patreon
Posted 6 years agoHey everyone,
I've finally decided to get a Patreon account up and running, but I want to reassure everyone that the game will be released for free, for everyone, when it's done. However, currently I'm without a source of proper income, so I feel like Patreon's a good choice for me at the moment. At this point I'm primarily offering gifs of my animations, which are posted as I complete them, and when level 2 is finished and released (which again will be to everyone, for free), I will start offering playable demos of level 3 as I make it. You can find all the details over here:
https://www.patreon.com/SquashedFlat
Even if you can't afford to donate, I really appreciate all the support and encouragement this community has given me, so thank you all so much for that. You've all kept me going on this ludicrous project of mine, and I hope to see it through to the end.
Thanks everyone!

Stream Update 2
Posted 6 years agoHowdy all,
Streaming's been going really well, and I've been getting a lot more done than usual, so I think I'm going to try and make this a consistent thing. I initially considered Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday (and told people on the stream that would be the schedule... sorry), but I think I'd prefer not to stream on the weekend. So, going forward, my stream schedule will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10am AEST, over at https://picarto.tv/SquashedFlat
I'll continue announcing streams via status updates on DA and journals on FA, and I may stream more than just those days occasionally, but this will be the schedule I'll try to stick to.
Thanks everyone!

Stream Update
Posted 6 years agoHey everyone!
So, there definitely seems to be some interest in the idea of me streaming, and as of such I've set up a channel over here: https://picarto.tv/SquashedFlat
I plan to do my first stream this coming Monday, at 10am Australian Eastern Daylight Savings Time (AEDT), and will be working on making Roxxie's in-game sprite. Hopefully I'll be streaming most weekdays though, with some exceptions if I'm busy or just too exhausted to.
See you then!

Updates 16/01/2019
Posted 6 years agoHappy New Year everyone!
So first off, I'm currently working on the bossfight for level 2, but I'd say I'm only a third done with it. And that's not counting all the cutscene and menu stuff I've still got to do, as well as the playtesting and bugfixing. So make of that what you will.
The main purpose of this journal though is to measure how interested people would be in seeing me stream? I have some serious troubles with procrastination, and I feel like having an audience may help apply some pressure to fix that. I will say though, if you're an actual artist you may wish to steer clear. My artistic practises are what some would describe as abysmally inefficient' and 'downright terrible' so it won't be pretty. Still though, what do people think?

Posted 7 years agoHey everyone,
Just a quick journal to let everyone know that game progress is still very much underway, I've just been slogging through the all the grab animations for the second level. At the moment I've completed eight of the nine grabs, and once that's done I can move on to the coding, the cutscenes and the sounds for the level, and after that, the boss fight. Might also include a proper menu and a save system for the next release, which will HOPEFULLY be late this year or early next year. Progress has slowed a little due to university, as I have four weeks left until I need to submit my thesis, but after that's done it should pick up in pace again.
Thanks for your patience,

Updates and Imposters
Posted 7 years agoHey everyone, SF here. Firstly, game work continues slowly, with uni life getting in the way, but progress does continue. Secondly, it's come to my attention that someone on F-List is pretending to be me: https://www.f-list.net/c/Sheriff%20Texas
I just want to make it very clear that this is not me. I don't use f-list, and I don't really RP either. I'm also going to assume that this is a watcher of mine, to which I'll say: I'm flattered that you like my characters, and I'm not going to report you. I really don't mind people using my characters, in fact I'd encourage it (Though keep in mind that Roxxie is not my character, so please don't use her without her author's permission), as I like to see people enjoying what I create. But if you do so, I just ask that you make it clear that you're not me, that any creations you post using my characters are non-canon/not official, and if you repost my artwork, just put a link in to my DA or FA account.
Again, (and this is for anyone who wants to use my characters) I really don't mind! I like seeing my characters enjoyed and shared, just don't try to pass yourself off as official or 'in-canon' or me. So long as you don't do that, please enjoy yourself to the fullest.
Thanks all!

Update
Posted 8 years agoHey everyone,
My first semester of my masters degree is finished, so in celebration, and because I've received a few requests, I've uploaded all the animations from my game, which you can view here: http://squashedflat.deviantart.com/.....olf-Game-Overs Speaking of games, my work on the Texas game has fallen a bit by the wayside. I encountered some bugs which were driving me mad, and the whole game was a bit overwhelming, so I've stepped back for the moment and started working on another, simpler game, made in Adventure Game Studio and based on my Fox Quest story. Rest assured that I definitely do want to come back to the Texas game at some point, as I'm brimming with ideas for it, but for the moment I'm doing something a little easier. Additionally, if I ever give up on any of my projects, I would upload the squashing animations from them, so that the whole thing doesn't go to waste. Though fingers crossed that that never happens.
Thank you!

Some Thoughts On The Next Game
Posted 8 years agoHowdy all,
First of, I'm very glad that people have been enjoying Time Wolf (despite all the massive, glaring flaws and problems it has) it always makes me happy to know that people are getting something out of my content, especially if it's something I've put so much time into.
Secondly, university is about to start again for me, which might interfere with my schedule, especially since I'm starting my masters degree and I'm not sure how much of my free time that will take up. Rest assured though that I will continue with game work whenever I can, and I found with my last game that the trips to and from uni gave me a lot of time to think and plan.
Thirdly is a topic I'm almost embarrassed to broach, but I want to gauge people's interest on the subject of me making a Patreon for the game? Now, rest assured that I will release the game for free to everyone when it is complete, so you don't need to worry about that, and whether I decide to go with Patreon or not I do intend to continue working on the game and see it through to completion. However, I could really use the income for living expenses, and if I get enough maybe even quit my current casual job to give me more free time (since the job doesn't pay much anyway). I don't know much about Patreon really, but I'd offer more preview gifs like the one I currently have up on my page to followers, as well as demos of the game (either monthly or just whenever the game is in a stable state). Possibly some other rewards as well, but I don't know exactly what yet or how much everything will be, nor do I know if my content is good enough to be worthy of having a Patreon, but that's what this journal is for, I guess. If there is some Patreon interest, I probably won't start it until I know what my university schedule is like, just to make sure I have the time to deliver on my promises.
So, would people be interested if I started a Patreon? And if so, what would people like to see as possible reward ideas for supporters?
Thanks!

Disappearance
Posted 9 years agoHey, all
As some of you know and others do not, tomorrow afternoon (Australian Eastern Standard Time) I'll be disappearing for a month with very limited access to the internet. I'm not particularly active on here, so this shouldn't really upset anyone, but I just thought it'd be best if I let people know rather than disappearing unexpectedly.
Thank you

Texas Comic
Posted 10 years agoSo, for a little while now, I've been talking with the talented people over at
graybluestudios who are interested in making a comic about one of Texas's misadventures. The script is all done, and we're looking at twelve pages of sheriff-squashing action as Texas is locked up on false charges and has to share a cell with a few angry inmates, which doesn't end well for the sheriff. The comic will contain squashing, gassing and some feet stuff, pretty much all the usual things!
When it's done, it will be available on the GrayBlueStudios patreon (www.patreon.com/GBstudios), as well as on their online store, and I highly recommend that you grab a copy if you like the stuff that I do and the stuff they do, because this comic is going to be amazing. I am also reliably informed that GBStudios plans to release some bonus content with the store version, and are open to suggestions for what you think the bonus content should be.
Aside from that, there are a few other bits and pieces that I've got in the works for you guys to look forward to, which I'll be able to devote more time to when uni ends in a week or two, but again, I highly recommend checking this comic out when it becomes available.

Animation
Posted 10 years agoI made a thing for class. It's very rough, has no sound, and there's a hundred things I want to improve in it, but overall I am incredibly happy with it, and extremely proud of myself!
