Time to break everything!

Speaking of replacement hard drives, any recommendations?
Posted 8 years agoNothing fancy, just something with a ton of storage to stuff into a desktop.
Anyone into Robot Wars? And other stuff.
Posted 8 years agoFor 48 hours I've been struck low with a cold and generally unpleasant infection symptoms which to describe in detail would put one right off their stroke. Well there's scat, doubtless there's bound to be somebody who gets their jollies from peeps with colds, flu, heat stroke...
Regardless, my overall plan remains the same. Masterba- I mean lots of productive work! Added to my expanding to-do list is making Robot Wars in Blender Game Engine. No simple logic bricks (bugger) so plenty of Python code reading for me. Actually not my first time trying it, there was a course at University where I tried making Hypnodisk in a physics engine. Just a shame the university had chosen a physics engine which had NO DOCUMENTATION. Absolutely nothing. Even the sample code had stuff like "//What's this bit do?".
With luck, Blender Game Engine will do the trick. Hell, I just want a demo where I can flip another robot in a physics engine that actually works.

OC Commissions
Posted 8 years agoBy completing the 3rd and final OC commission I accepted payment for waaaaay back, I can now happily accept even more while still holding the moral high ground! Drop comments bellow if you're interested, I know there's at least one of you, and I'll revamp ze Mk9 body with some improvements to the topology in the meantime. I might give myself a day or two to enjoy having no commission obligations.
Workshop Streams: Step-by-step 'How I make busty ponies'
Posted 9 years agoSo this has been a thing I've wanted to do for sometime, as have many other peeps, basically me starting from scratch until I've finished the Mk10 pony body. I've been using the Mk9 for 2 years today, I've done running improvements but it needs so much overhauling that it'd simply be easier to start again.
WHEN?
I've ordered a soundcard for my desktop, with any luck that'll stop myself sounding so damn quiet. It should be arriving in a week or so which at least gives me a chance to prepare, experiment, and finish off outstanding commissions. Damn shoddy inbuilt sound drivers.
The plan is to record my streams and get everything on YouTube. Be warned that these streams will not be for complete beginners, prior experience working in 3D and Blender will probably be needed. Anatomy, proportions, n'stuff will also factor heavily though if you already know your way around 2D stuffs that shouldn't be an issue.
Off the top of my head the process to get from nothing to 3D boobage goes thusly:
- Rough body
- Retopologise
- Final body
- Materials and texturing
- Armature and control rig
- Weight painting the body to the rig
- Posing / animating
- Lighting / Camera
- SEXY BOOBAGE
Along the way I'll share what I've learnt and my reasons for why I do things the way I do. Or rather why I don't do some things.
3D modelling is neither quick nor easy. There are aspects of it that will reduce you to tears. The stuff you initially produce will look terrible and if you start comparing it to the work of those who already have galleries packed with glorious 3D stuffs... that's just going to make it harder to continue.
What you should do instead is work until your idols are your rivals. I've been gunning for
Anthroanim for four years now.

Two minutes past midnight, Merry Christmas!
Posted 9 years agoMight just host a Christmas Day stream in the evening. Unless I eat too much and can't get up.
I'll herp, and I'l derp, and I'll have to do another render.
Posted 9 years agoIt's the little details that get me. Like the background colour of the entire scene! HOW'D I MISS THAT?!
Headphone Replacement: Would like suggestions
Posted 9 years agoSo a while back I busted the strap on my current pair of headphones. Held together with skin-stripping tape they still work but only rest on top of my head rather than clamp to it, so If I move my head too much they fall off.
But here comes Christmas! An excuse to buy a shiny new replacement and maybe upgrade! So! What do you wear on your head to listen to your gamey games and shout at little punks?

Installed new AMD drivers and everything is fine.

Thoughts of RP Campaign Streams.
Posted 9 years agoThose who frequent
SimonAquarius's stream know that he often does segments that aren't too dissimilar to DnD to improve his sketching. Tldr; His long suffering OC Amanda is thrust into a situation and the viewers decide what she should do, her success depending on a roll of a D20. Hella fun to take part in.
Now I can't sketch nearly as fast or as well as Simon can, but if I may toot my own trumpet I can write and I can world build. There're also some minor 3D modelling skills I have which could come in useful...
Thousands of years ago an unearthly spell was cast that stripped magic away from the world. Twenty years ago the spell shattered and millennia of pent up magic has flooded back, reality itself twisted as the magic earthed itself wherever it could devastating the land. Those that survived continue to do so in the few untainted territories, fighting off bandits, warped monstrosities from the magic infested lands, and each other as the power hungry enact their dreams of conquest.
The players will be a team of scavengers, off to hunt through ruins for anything that can be used or sold. Medicines and electronics to name just a couple of things they can find. Magical treasure might be on the list to... I'm thinking of a whole campaign run over the course of several streams with 3, maybe 4 players. On the side, if I get around to creating my own OC they'll be a lone wanderer controlled by the stream's viewers just like Amanda in Simon's streams.
Why all of this? Because it'd be freaking sweet! If I really knuckled down it'd be a proper tabletop game just on a stream. Character 'figurines', environments, the works.
---
Of course it's all a pipe dream right now with only a few pages of my notebook filled with my tiny handwriting to show for it. I'm throwing a journal up to see if anyone's interested in taking part, as a player or even assisting with 3D assets or the stream itself. Naturally if I have the characters fully modelled I could even create some kickass renders of events that take place during play.

Opening Commissions
Posted 9 years agoA journal's a little low key but stuff it, I'll make a proper goofy submission later. Peeps who checked the description here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/21138172/ will have read that I'm renovating my Mk9 body because I like money now please gimmie money and enough peeps have asked if I'm taking commissions.
Same rules as before:
- You're not getting 3D models, you're getting a fabulous render of them. Same as Anthroanim.
- If you're... strange and want nobody else to see the render I make for you that's a 1.5x multiplier to the total cost of the render. Sure money is good but also is getting my amazeballs art out there and seen by peeps.
- No gore, BBW (Chubby is fine), blood, or waste bodily fluids. (Subject to additions)
I'm not going to be taking OC commissions until I finish the last (edit)one... Might be a while.
Pricing
Renders starting at £20 for a single character with a simple background and no fancy props.
+ £16 for every additional character
+ Props and/or background, we can haggle.
+ Clothing, is also subject to haggling.

To stream, or not to stream on Twitch
Posted 9 years agoDue in no small part to Picarto buggering me over last night I've been considering the possibilities of streaming via Twitch. Not only would I be able to do my 3D modelling shtick (within reason, see bellow), but I'd also be able to stream the few games I play.
But. And it's a big butt. Twitch doesn't like naughty things, as stated deep within their terms and conditions:
I. You agree that you will comply with these Terms of Service and Rules of Conduct and will not: - Content that is unlawful, libellous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, indecent, lewd, suggestive, harassing, threatening, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, abusive, inflammatory, fraudulent or otherwise objectionable;
Checklist time!
- Unlawful, pff.
- Libellous, has to look this up but it's basically defamation.
- Defamatory, see Libellous.
- Obscene, rather broad stroke isn't it?
- Pornographic, damnit.
- Indecent, damnit.
- Lewd, DAMNIT.
- Suggestive, you put that after pornographic?
- Harassing, pff.
- Threatening, I am about as threatening as a moody squirrel.
- Invasive of privacy or publicity rights, pff.
- Abusive, does forcing outrageous boobage on 3D models count?
- Inflammatory, I am not The Daily Mail.
- Fraudulent or otherwise objectionable, pff and again, more broad strokes.
Sooo... Unlikely to be able to get away with, well, giant titties. Rather depends on how strict or overworked Twitch's moderators are. I'm thinking Xdraw's Zerosuit Midna should get away with it. Midna already has a sizeable booty and... Might have to suck it and see. Certainly any 3D modelling not aimed at creating lewds would fly under the radar.
Or Twitch buggers me over with connection issues as well. Don't know yet.
:EDIT: Bored D:

Going on holiday
Posted 9 years agoTwo weeks with family at our yearly haunt starting tomorrow. Going to be taking my laptop but at five(?) years old it's beginning to show its age, I'll try and make some holiday renders but don't expect any :/
Pencil sketches... Maybe?

Broke my microphone

Can anyone recommend a nice one to get? Just a microphone mind you, not a headset combo thingy.

lewded. So make that a multistream.
lewded. So make that a multistream.Anyone interested in buying a high-res pack of renders?
Posted 9 years agoBefore I get started:
- The pack would be most of my newer renders. Not including commissions or gifts I made for peeps, the inclusion in the pack of their images belongs to the individual the image was made for.
- The cost would be around £3.00 ~ $4.40
- The money would go to funding a premium Picarto account so I could host multi streams with fellow awesome sauce artists. Plus it'd allow you peeps to download the last stream, I know there's a few of you out there who wanted that.
Now that's been said, I typically render images a fair bit larger than the typical FA image size allows so most of my uploads are down-sized. Nice to hide fireflies in the renders. Less nice when smaller details get lost.
So in no particular order a list of uploads with their FA resolution compared to the resolution of the original renders.

Underboob or Backboob?
Posted 9 years agoYour preferred choice of the two?
Closing to commissions for now
Posted 9 years agoWill probably reopen once the Mk10 Body's ready to go.
Adoptables
Posted 9 years agoJust... Why? I can half see the point with a character ready modelled in 3D but a character design? There's always such things as written reference sheets.
So I did a thing
Posted 10 years agoI basically took two episodes of Top Gear to model and rig a spaceship's nose landing gear. Maybe If I'd set out with a definite design in mind it'd maybe only take half an episode. Perhaps a little longer if the Top Gear episode was one that I'd not seen in a while.
Could all the art sharing websites please stand up!
Posted 10 years agoSo this week I found out about e621 where a few of my renders have popped up, and I've known about Derpibooru for ages now.
