Oh Right, Journals are a thing. [LIFE UPDATE]
Posted 4 months agoHey everybody!
Hope you're all doing well. It's been a while, huh? I haven't been the most proactive person on this site, have I? Well, that probably won't change much, but I can at least *try* to make the effort to update stuff a little more frequently. Starting with a new journal update! The first one since...2021!? Where did the time go!?
So what has happened since 2021? Where have I been? Well if you've been following me you know that I have been spending a lot more time over on Bluesky (chromakoros.bsky.social, go check it out if you haven't yet ;P) and I killed my twitter account. But that's all social media stuff. What about life? What have I been doing in the meantime? Well, honestly, it's been a lot.
I've moved twice: both places were apartments with the wife. My mom sold our old family home and moved, so we stuck around the area and got a shitty little apartment. Okay, it wasn't THAT bad, it was cheap and the neighbors were fine, but my god did it get hot in the summer. Also there was no space to do anything. Our living room was so full that we essentially had a hallway's worth of space to walk around it. Shit was nuts. We moved out of there and into a much bigger, much nicer apartment under the same landlord for slightly higher rent, and that's where we are now.
I have my own office! Since art is my full time job (I'll get to that), the wife was kind enough to let me take the second bedroom in the apartment and turn it into my own little art den, and that's been fantastic to have. As much as I love my wife, it's nice to have my own little space that I can decorate and furnish on my own, and with my model kit building hobby, I definitely needed the space to put stuff. And since I've gotten my own space to do activities like that, that hobby has exploded. I have built *SO* many models. Gundam, Megami Device, 30MS, etc. It's been a nice little way for me to burn some pocket change and spend some time away from artistic endeavors.
Art wise, I'd like to think I've been getting a little faster! And better. Those that know me personally know that I've been doing art full time since 2018, but since 2023 I've made a full transition away from 3D into illustration. 3D art, as much as I like doing it, just takes far too long for me to make anything I'm super satisfied with. Couple that with the fact I kept my prices pretty low for 3D comms, and it was a recipe for disaster both mentally and financially. I was burning myself out pretty bad. Since making the transition to 2D, things have been quite a bit more stable, though not super great.
Yeah, as it turns out, making furry illustrations for a living is not as lucrative as the community likes to present it sometimes. Making art is incredibly time consuming, and in order to compete in the bracket I'm in right now, I'm kind of making pennies for the amount of time it takes me. Not a complaint, just an observation. I'm incredibly grateful for all of those that have shown me support and commissioned me over the years! Some of those comms have come at the exact time I needed them to and helped save my family from financial hardship, but it's not like I'm really making a living off of this despite the fact I do this full time.
Yep, that's right. This is my full time job. This is what I do to try and make a living, and honestly, it's getting harder to justify that as the economy in the US continues it's downward spiral into the drain. I absolutely love what I do but I may have to start transitioning into other fields soon to help us make ends meet. I don't want to, but if that's what I need to do to help my family, it may be a reality that comes to pass. Should this happen, I'll keep everyone posted.
That all said, commissions are currently open! And I have a ko-fi page (https://ko-fi.com/chromakoros) if you wanna help support my artistic endeavors directly. Every little bit helps!

500 FOLLOWERS HELL YEAH
Posted 4 years agoI'm back baby! And I've just hit 500 followers, so I'm super excited. Thank you all so much for sticking with me through the hiatus, and for those that just followed, thank you for joining my artistic journey. I hope you look forward to it as much as I do!
On Hiatus!
Posted 4 years agoHey all! Long time no journal. If you follow me on twitter (which you should if you haven't already: https://twitter.com/ChromaKoros), you're probably already aware of this, but I'm currently on hiatus until further notice. Commissions are closed, and I will not be posting for some time. Last year was exceptionally difficult for me mentally, and I really ended up pushing myself to the brink by the end of it. For my own sanity, I have decided to step away for some time so I can work on my mental health. Now I'm not saying I'm finished here. Far from it! I will be back either later this year, or sometime early next year with some new art, new commission prices, and an improved workflow that should allow me to get more stuff done, much more quickly.
So if you're already following me, please stick around! I'm not going away forever, and I've got a lot of stuff in store, I promise! Until then, Stay safe, wear a mask if you go outside, wash your hands, and take care <3

Update: Patreon Closed, Upcoming projects
Posted 6 years agoIf you attempted to look up my patreon recently, you may have seen that the website was down. That is because I have decided to close the patreon for now due to lack of interest, an inability to produce content in a timely manner while juggling all that is going on in my life right now, and just generally finding it was causing me more stress than it was worth at the moment
I meant to write something up a week ago when I closed the patreon, but forgot to post it here. For that, I apologize.
So where do we go from here?
Well, I'm still in the process of making my Koros low poly. Yes, I'm still working on that. Life has a way of getting in the way sometimes, and these past few months have been an absolute trainwreck. Between the holidays, family, my cystic fibrosis, and a bunch of other factors, progress has been incredibly slow. For those waiting on me for commissions, I do appreciate the patience, greatly. I'm hoping to have Koros done within the first week or so of the new year. With him out of the way, I'll have a new commission sheet up, several new renders and images for you guys, and I'll be back to producing content in a manner similar to the summer months. This is my hope, this is my plan.
As for what you can expect for models that I'll be making over the next few months, you can look forward to the following:
Rouge the Bat Bust
Cream Low Poly
Zero Suit Fox High/Low Poly (with permission from the creator, of course!)
Bunny Enid High Poly
Haida High Poly/Low Poly
Sawyer High Poly
Blaze the Cat Low Poly
Vanilla Bust
I've got some things planned out that I hope you'll all enjoy. If you have suggestions, you can also feel free to leave comments down below.
Thank you all for sticking with me. I hope you had a great holiday season, and a Happy New Year!

Where you can find me
Posted 7 years agoHey folks! With the demise of tumblr I've had to go and update my contact info. You can mainly find me here and inkbunny, but I'm gonna be switching gears to bring Twitter and Newgrounds into the fold as well. My twitter is @KorosCollective, and so is the newgrounds account. I hope to see you guys there!
Thank you for the 100 watches!
Posted 7 years agoTonight, I have hit an important milestone. When I first started my FA, I didn't think I'd ever make it to 10 follows, let alone 100. I can't thank you all enough for watching, and giving me the drive, motivation, and encouragement to pursue the path I'm on. I wouldn't be here without you folks, and I love you all!
Patreon Update!
Posted 7 years agoHi folks! Figured it would be a good idea to let you guys know that the patreon tiers have been restructured, and now place heavy emphasis on discounts for commissions, and community engagement. I've also released my first poll over on the website, which you can vote on for just $1! The poll can be found here, and will help determine which spooky model I get to make for Halloween: https://www.patreon.com/posts/21779049
And remember guys, every little bit helps. Even just a dollar a month from you guys can make my dream of doing this full time that much more of a reality. I really do appreciate each and every one of my fans!

Patreon is open for business!
Posted 7 years agoHey folks! I've been putting my patreon together behind the scenes and I am proud to announce that it is now open for business! I have made my first post, which is available for $1 donators, and it's a WIP of the next model I'm working on. I appreciate all your support!
