This is just a little announcement to everybody who is currently waiting for a commission from me.
I've not forgotten about them, I've just been a little busy what with school ending and the scramble to find a summer job taking up a lot of my time. That and good ol' fashion laziness that I apologize for.
But now I've (hopefully) worked out the kinks with my tablet and my copy of SAI so I'm all set to actually get to work. I've also got OBS set up now so when I do actually sit down to do something I can stream it. All I need now is to stay motivated.
The tablet is a little smaller than I'm used to so I might need to do some practice drawings before I move on to anything that people are actually expecting quality from. I might do a request stream this week to get back into the swing of things or I might have some quiet, intimate time with my tablet so we can learn each other's deepest, darkest, dirtiest secrets.
Basically what I'm trying to say is that the commissions will get done I just need a little more time to adjust, and you should keep an eye out for actual content from me.

I don't plan to leave FA any time soon, in fact the only site I'm looking to leave right now is DeviantArt for many reasons.
But this latest fiasco has got me thinking about how unacceptably horrid things are on this site. The administration has been the subject of controversy for years, the security is made a mockery of time and time again and for all their saying that things have been fixed this shit keeps happening, the interface is bad and features that were promised years ago have yet to see the light of day. I've been on FA for a few years now and I can remember at LEAST two other occasions when the site had to go down to fix serious security issues.

I vaguely recall an ex-staff member from FA taking to youtube some months ago to talk about how shitty of a system he was forced to work with, and how many things could have easily been solved if the "higher-ups" weren't so bafflingly averse to change. That just makes me think that this whole thing could have been avoided, and given FA's track record I think that idea has more than a little weight behind it.

Not to mention the abysmal sense of transparency the administration has with users. People are saying that they figured out about the loss of user data before FA even told them, hours or maybe days after it occurred! They should have been on that shit IMMEDIATELY, why weren't they?

Ugh.. As much as it pains me to say it, FA is still the best we have in terms of furry-specific sites. FA is like an American ISP, or like World of Warcraft. Yeah it's shit now compared to what it used to be, and some people are comfortable enough with it, but where are the rest of us going to go?

DeviantArt is a close contender, but the mod team over there is just as bad if not worse than the one on FA, and their restrictions on NSFW art is a killer to so many people. Like it or not folks porn is a huge, huge part of this fandom. I build my meager following on it, many others have built bigger ones doing the same, and hell some people make an actual living off of doing porn commissions (~Living the dream~).

Tumblr is another close one, but it's hard for an individual to gain a following over there I've seen. The site isn't really built to host nothing but art. You would almost be better off making your own website, if the idea of a blog is so appealing. Every other site, eh... Like I said sites like Weasyl and SoFurry are nice, and they were clearly built to fill the gaps FA has in its systems, but they're floundering because not enough people are ready to move on from accounts that they've often spent years building on here.

Hopefully the silver lining in this whole thing will be that enough people are going to smarten up and make the move to another site. We are the only thing Weasyl and SoFurry and InkBunny and every other, better site is missing people. The reason they haven't grown is because we aren't helping them grow. And if you know me you'll know that growth is very, very important. So as of today (maybe not TODAY-today, I have a lot of stuff to move) I'm going to be making the switch to another site. I don't know which one yet, I'll let you know in a journal when I do.

Now this doesn't mean I'll stop posting here. I've got almost 300 watchers here (at the time of writing, I just checked for the first time in months and was seriously blown the fuck away, thank you guys so much) and a sizeable view count. I'm sure if it was a legitimate counter that actually worked like it should then that number would be higher, but I digress. I'm not going to abandon what I've built here. I'm just going to be doing my part to make the furry community a better place to live.

TL:DR -- FA sucks and it doesn't look like it's going to be getting better any time soon, and we have nowhere better to go to because all the other sites are ghost towns, so it's up to us to come together and make one of those sites into somewhere the community can grow and flourish. I'm not leaving FA but I will be making an account on another site--which one that will be I'm not sure yet, I'll let you know when I decide--and doing my part to increase the user count. If you care about the future of the community at large I would highly recommend you do the same.

The old horse I've been using for quite a while has finally breathed its last breath of smut drawing, as no drivers exist for the OS I'm currently running (Win10).
So, if you're running an older operating system and need a tablet to work with, you're in luck.

It's in good condition, very little wear with only cosmetic issues (There's some paint on the bottom and maybe some dust beneath the surface cover that some canned air will take care of in no time).
Considering I can't find this model on the monoprice site I'm going to assume it was discontinued. It still works perfectly fine it just requires (to my knowledge) an older operating system to function.

You can use the drivers for the above model to get it working, and I'm going to base my price off of that same one as it's the closest thing they still have to what I've got.
I paid $45 for it on sale, the one they still have up is $35 on sale, and so I was thinking $25+shipping would be fair.

Yeah, turns out that the company that made my tablet hasn't updated the drivers since 2011. The latest version available is for Windows 7, which I'm not about to put on my Win10 PC.
Sooooo... Back to drawing exclusively SFW stuff at school I suppose. At least until I can get the funds for a new tablet that's half decent. Anybody got any suggestions?


So I'm 19 now, the last of my teenage years. My first year of college is coming to a close and I have no fucking clue what I want to do with my life. Should I transfer to another college with a better program and a higher degree option, or should I stay in the school I'm currently in and get a lesser degree from a better university, or should I really jump into the shit and go to school in another country? If Trump gets elected I'll most likely go somewhere else anyway, guess I'll just have to wait until then to be sure. I'll probably take some time off after this year to just work and get my head straightened out. No sense putting myself in debt for the rest of my life getting a degree I'll figure out down the line I never needed or wanted. My art is improving slowly as I've seen in the rare instances in which I can bring myself to actually do things. My computer is finally fixed (save for a frustrating issue with my monitor setup) now, so I have like twice as much opportunity to actually work on stuff but I rarely ever do because videogames are easier. My hobbies are blooming nicely, I've even started dipping my feet into the waters of commissioned miniature painting--something I highly recommend people don't have me do because it's taken me a month to do four models and I have four more on the list. It'll pay decently but holy shit I'm breaking new ground here in the procrastination department. I need to stop buying new models when I've got a good sized army's worth of figures I still need to paint. My boyfriend and I are doing swell and my friends are alright, family hasn't had any major devastating blows recently. My dog is getting old and starting to lose his hearing but I'd rather not think about that for now.

On the whole things are looking pretty alright for now. Here's hoping it stays that way.

That's because I'm once again drowning in school work and have many things backed up that prevent me from drawing. I'm going absolutely out of my nut these days, what with the no good computer and no means of making art right now. I know it's late (9PM to be exact) Tuesday evening right now but I figured I could scratch the artist's itch with a bit of TMI stuff. If you're unfamiliar with the concept, basically you ask me or my characters questions and I'll answer them with a drawing. I have access to graphic tablets and cintiQs at my school so I should be able to do some stuff for answers. I look forward to answering all one of the questions I might get from somebody who actually reads my journals or might find it on the portal.

It's been over a month since my last drawing upload but I swear I'm not actually dead. The only thing that died is my computer, which I should be getting a replacement for in a week or two if all goes well. I'll probably do a celebratory requests stream once I get it all set up so don't unwatch me just yet!

I'm coming back atcha with another stream tomorrow night, and I'm bringing with me a handful of request slots! But these are going to be a little different from what I normally do. I type this from my phone as my computer is currently out of commission due to a nasty bug I picked up from the popular gts/microphilia site. I'm sure people who share the same interests as I know of the site already, but for those who don't, stay away. The site is not safe, even with antivirus software installed on your system.

I had planned to go to this years Anthrocon this weekend, but now am unable to because of some unforseen things happening. First and foremost being the death of my great grandmother, who passed away in her nursing home this morning. She had turned 100 years old just under a week ago, July 2nd, and will sadly not be around to see the birth of her first great-great grandchild.
She and I were never very close, as her mind had already began to go by the time I was old enough to form any kind of bond. I would like to say that I at least miss her, but I really don't remember too much about her so doing so wouldn't be fully truthful.. To be honest, the fact that I feel so little for losing her is making me feel awful, as if I don't care as much as I should. My family, conversly, is devastated by the loss, thus all plans we had had for the next few weeks have been put on hold indeffinitely.
So yeah, I'm a selfish piece of shit because I'm more upset about not being able to go to a con than I am about losing a member of my family.

On another topic of things that aren't happening, I want to apologize to those who have commissioned me. My new job is proving to be much more draining than I had anticipated, to the point at which I barely feel energized enough to work on my blossoming Warhammer 40k hobby, let alone work on commissions.
As stated before this recent death in my family isn't affecting me very heavily, and I still have the rest of this week off despite not needing it for AC anymore, so I should be able to work on the commissions I have in the next few days. I don't want to get anybody's hopes up though, as I expect things to change rapidly in the coming weeks in terms of plans.

In summary, I apologize for not being terribly active lately, and likewise in advance for most likely staying inactive for a while because things aren't looking up for me right now. .
