Just to say, I'm back on Neopets and have been doing OK. I've managed to get my dreamie (Larisi, female Maraquan Acara) and to make about 500k neopoints (mostly in stocks and shares & food club, I'm too lazy for gaming or restocking).
Anyway, will hopefully start putting my bets back up soon.

Net worth will be calculated as value of neopoints in the hold & bank, plus the value of all items in my inventory, safety deposit box & on my pet as custom, plus 15NP for each share I have (I sell at 30, but 15 will be an approximate average value for shares in the immediate).
So far: Hit 200,000 NP net worth on 6th May 2011.
Accomplished: 20%.
B. Get one each Maraquan Cybunny, Maraquan Ixi & Maraquan Acara, all female and VWN (very well named, pronouncable & capitalised)
Because these pets are the sexiest damn things on Neopets. Unfortunately won't even be able to try to accomplish this one within 3 months because of the notrade rule.

C. One million Neopoints in the bank
Exactly as it says on the tin, a more difficult accomplishment than 'A', for sure, because I don't usually keep this much value in NP, but I'll try to do it this time.

General | Posted 14 years agoThis set of bets are moderate-risk but high return. I'm moving to this strategy of long-term betting because of the small amounts I'm dealing in and the fact that I'm getting a chance to accrue wealth. I'm not going to be able to place large bets for about a year (that'll be 780 NP per bet, 10 bets per day) so it makes sense to run high-risk, high-return strategies, of course based on higher returns than risks over the long term.
This set of bets has a cost of 10 units, an expected return of just over 20 units, and approximately a 47% chance of making a profit. It relies fairly heavily on Gooblah the Grarrl, who I feel has a >80% chance of winning today, and also on Sir Edmund Ogletree, who I feel has a ~60% chance.

- 17,771 NP in hold
- 25,006 NP in the bank
- 8,500 NP in saleable assets
- 4,000 shares (value approx 15 NP each)
So I'm a tenth of my way to the million mark in three days, and my Food Club bets haven't even come in yet for today. I've customised my Ixi, Triarii, and she looks pretty gorgeous, so all in all it's going well so far.
I've made a spreadsheet for tracking a total audit of my accounts, my bets, my assets, outcomes from dailies and a book collection which needs to be built up for my future Maraquan Ixi.

The worst reasonable case I can see is an 8:10 return on these bets (i.e., you win two of the 2/1s and one of the 4/1s) and the expected return is much higher if the odds play out today.

They have an expected return of more than you put in, but this is gambling so it is possible to lose money on these bets, don't bet what you can't afford to lose.

General | Posted 14 years agoSo, I decided to start up a Neopets account from scratch and try to achieve some objectives on a new account. I'll be playing this account only (and possibly some new side accounts) from this point forward, and my old accounts are now in permafrost due to Neopets' 5 accounts & 1 NP-making account at a time rule.
I'm going to be keeping some spreadsheets to audit everything I buy, everything I sell, and every share I buy as well as my Food Club bets, which will be posted here for any other Neopets fans, usually a few hours before the betting closes.
My history on Neopets has been fairly successful, but the account is mired in history and I want a fresh break there along with this account. So, I need to lay out some ground rules first:
1. All conduct will follow Neopets' terms & conditions.
2. I won't be taking any donations (my friend gave me items before and got one of my accounts banned).
3. I'll be keeping you guys updated here.
My goals and ambitions are also important, and will set the ten milestones I really want to hit on Neopets, some of which I've had before, and some of which I have not. Here they are:
A. One million Neopoints NET WORTH
Net worth will be calculated as value of neopoints in the hold & bank, plus the value of all items in my inventory, safety deposit box & on my pet as custom, plus 15NP for each share I have (I sell at 30, but 15 will be an approximate average value for shares in the immediate).
Accomplished: No.
B. Get one each Maraquan Cybunny, Maraquan Ixi & Maraquan Acara, all female and VWN (very well named, pronouncable & capitalised)
Because these pets are the sexiest damn things on Neopets. Unfortunately won't even be able to try to accomplish this one within 3 months because of the notrade rule.

C. One million Neopoints in the bank
Exactly as it says on the tin, a more difficult accomplishment than 'A', for sure, because I don't usually keep this much value in NP, but I'll try to do it this time.

D. Full Laboratory Map & Petpet Laboratory Map
I'll need to complete the two maps in order to have access to the best parts of Neopets. This is probably going to come quite soon after 'C' unless I'm items-trading by that point and can trade for it in items instead of pure.

Yes, my Acara will be the battler of the group, but since she's not going to get labbed, this represents an extortionate cost which will put the books accomplishment to shame. 500 HSD means 500 Health + Strength + Defense. Training these all equally through the academy and then swashbuckling academy would cost a total of (assuming a round 6k per codestone) around 7,000,000NP.

G. Maraquan Cybunny to win a Beauty Contest Trophy
Given my drawing skills, this could well be the hardest on the list. To win the BC, you have to draw your pet (clean, of course) and have your contemporaries vote for your contest entry to win.

H. Win 1,000 Food Club bets
Food Club is Neopets' betting game, it's good cash if you have an old account, but sadly won't be for a while on this account, about two years, but that doesn't stop me trying to win 1,000 bets anyway.

Getting a trophy in a game is quite a hard accomplishment, as only three users out of the several million can win every month on most games. Still, I'll be trying for those golds to pimp my account out.

This has always been a desire of mine, but it's probably very unrealistic.

So, how have I got on so far? Well, I made a yellow Ixi and dressed her up, opened a bank account and have so far got my net worth to 34,346 via playing games, betting and buying stocks.
For Food Club today, I placed five bets costing a total of 250NP, and won 400NP back on three bets.

Habitarium was another success of the day, with 6 levelups to level 7, and a return of 4,950NP, which has definitely been a big bonus for the day. All in all, it's not been too bad, and tomorrow I get to open up the forum & Coltzan's Shrine. I'll try to log the outcomes of my dailies too.
I'm going to be keeping some spreadsheets to audit everything I buy, everything I sell, and every share I buy as well as my Food Club bets, which will be posted here for any other Neopets fans, usually a few hours before the betting closes.
My history on Neopets has been fairly successful, but the account is mired in history and I want a fresh break there along with this account. So, I need to lay out some ground rules first:

Net worth will be calculated as value of neopoints in the hold & bank, plus the value of all items in my inventory, safety deposit box & on my pet as custom, plus 15NP for each share I have (I sell at 30, but 15 will be an approximate average value for shares in the immediate).

B. Get one each Maraquan Cybunny, Maraquan Ixi & Maraquan Acara, all female and VWN (very well named, pronouncable & capitalised)
Because these pets are the sexiest damn things on Neopets. Unfortunately won't even be able to try to accomplish this one within 3 months because of the notrade rule.

Exactly as it says on the tin, a more difficult accomplishment than 'A', for sure, because I don't usually keep this much value in NP, but I'll try to do it this time.

I'll need to complete the two maps in order to have access to the best parts of Neopets. This is probably going to come quite soon after 'C' unless I'm items-trading by that point and can trade for it in items instead of pure.
